Danny and Caimy were now traveling, they have one destination set, New York City. But getting there from Minnesota is a bit of a challenge, especially when your two 10-year-olds with little to no money. So the pair decided hitchhiking would be their best bet.
"Thanks, minster!" Caimy waved to the kind old man driving a pickup truck, giving the two kids a kind smile, and drove away, just as a mist covering his eyes lifted the man was confused why he was near New York City.
"wasn't I in Harrison?" the clueless old man asked, silently cursing as he now missed his bingo game.
Back with Danny and Caimy, Danny asked "Wasn't that a little cruel, Caimy?" feeling bad for the old man, he cast an illusion over.
Over the weeks that the two left Minnesota Caimy has been teaching Danny some magic, mainly illusions as for some reason Danny was amazing at conjuring made-up stuff, and fooling people.
"I little, but he looked well off, besides it was training for you to master your magic, illusions require high levels of control over one's magic" Caimy stated sagely, earning a snort from Danny.
"I guess so, why are we at New York again?" Danny asked wondering why they traveled such a long distance.
"Oh, um well because of this" she then fished out a black ornate compass from her bag, the arrows in the compass started to turn rapidly before it stopped pointing to the bustling metropolis of New York City. "This compass is a relic of my family; it was passed down from the founder" she then placed the compass back in her bag "It has ancient and powerful magic enchantments on it that lets the one who possesses it to be guided to where they will find their true destiny"
Caimy then looked at Danny "It's the one that pointed me to you"
Danny looked at her in surprise and understanding he muttered "Thanks" which in turn made Caimy smile.
"So we are here to pick up a new peerage member" Danny stated, and Caimy nodded "well, I hope he, she or it won't have a miserable, tragic, and or unhappy life like us" Danny humored.
Caimy looked at him disapprovingly "Danny, please don't jinx us" Danny had the decency to blush and look away.
"…sorry" he muttered.
The duo soon started to traverse the city, Caimy occasionally looking at her compass every now and then. Danny was looking at the bustling city in a little awe and wonder, but once he looked at the Empire State building, he felt a little… weird, like something or someone, was residing there, something that made him shudder.
"Caimy?" Danny asked, gaining the attention of his king.
"Hmm? What is it, Danny?" Caimy responded
Danny gestured to the Empire State Building and asked "Do you also feel like, um what's the word, weaken? When looking at the Empire State Building?"
Caimy looked a little confused before she looked at the Empire State Building herself, her eyes slowly widened in horror and terror.
It was the first time in the weeks they have been together that Danny heard her curse.
Caimy quickly grabbed Danny's hand and pulled out something in her backpack, it was a piece of paper with some weird gold symbol on it, Caimy slapped the paper on her and put one on Danny as he rounded a corner and stopped in an alleyway.
The two looked a little winded, but the Devils have amazing stamina.
Danny asked with a breath "What…hah…Was that?"
Caimy calmed her breath and closed her eyes before opening them up again "I made a huge mistake" Danny looked at her in confusion so Caimy continued "Danny, I told you the myths and the supernatural is real, and right now, we are in one of the major pantheons territories. We are in the Greek Patheon's realm of influence"
Danny looked shocked and asked "Wasn't Greek mythology in, well Greece?" the looked of genuine confusion on his face.
Caimy then explained "Well yeah the Greek myths started in Greece, but the Olympians always travel with western civilization, first it was Greece as they were the strongest nations, or region, in the world for a time, then Rome, Britain, Germany then finally the US. Each time they travel so to the places in the myths, including Olympus, home of the Olympian gods, which is floating above the Empire State Building right now shrouded in Olympian Brand of Magic they call as the mist"
The length of the explanation was easy to understand for Danny, but the fact that Olympus, one of the most famous -or Infamous- Mythologies in the world is floating above the Empire State Building in Manhattan in America.
Was both amazing and horrifying.
So, he voiced his fear "D-does that mean we are trespassing in their domain?"
Caimy shook her head "No, there is this um… thing that pantheons have always active that lets their leaders know if there is someone or something in their territory that is hostile or hold ill intent, and because we came to New York not knowing they were in charge in your case and forgetting they own the place in mine, we are in the clear"
Danny breathes out a sigh of relief, he didn't want to get blasted by a stray lightning bolt from the king of the Olympian gods.
"But" Caimy started to add, and Danny started to sweat again.
"The Gods don't like being confined in their floating paradise in the sky, so every once in a while, they venture to the 'mortal world' as they call it and have fun," Caimy said with a growing blush, which grew even more when Danny asked.
"What kind of Fun?" Danny asked innocently.
Caimy looked at him with a tomato as a face she was so embarrassed "Adult stuff! That's all you need to know… Stupid Dad and the Talk" Caimy muttered the last one and looked a little sad remembering her family.
Danny noticed her sadness and placed a hand on her shoulder but didn't say anything, Caimy looked at him appreciatively.
"Come on, Danny! We need to find our new friend in this city!" she was soon back to her happy and bubbly self.
Danny shook his head with a smile and followed his friend on who knows where too, he wanted to ask more but seeing Caimy look sad a moment ago he held his tongue, he can ask about the paper thing later.

It was getting dark now, and the kids were getting really tired, they may be Devils, with extreme stamina but they are still kids. And walking around a city that size of well… New York is very troublesome, and tiring.
"Danny~ I'm hungry!" Caimy moaned, holding her stomach as she and Danny are dragging their feet on the concrete sidewalk trying to find where on earth Caimy's Compass was pointing to.
"Caimy, you were the one that said we first find who or what your magic GPS is pointing too then we eat" Danny stated, a little miffed that his king and friend despite her intellect has spontaneous maturity, would act like an adult in one second, then a childish the next.
But Danny will never be annoyed to the point of leaving her.
They are all each other had as Danny didn't know where his older sister was.
"meanie…" Caimy muttered before she was knocked down when a black blur ran past her and back where they came.
Caimy looked surprised at what happened, then looked behind her to see Danny over her worried, she would have blushed but felt her weightless she realized that her bag was missing.
"I was mugged!" Caimy yelled in surprise.
With Danny beside her, he quickly ran after the culprit but made sure Caimy was ok first.
With the speed that would make top-tier athletes envy him Danny manage to catch up to the robber, he soon realized he or she was about his and Caimy's age just from the height of the culprit.
"STOP!" Danny yelled as he was nearing the culprit, but the culprit rounded a corner into an alleyway, and soon it started to rain.
Once Danny rounded the corner himself he was surprised that the distance grew in just a few seconds 'weird' he thought and started to run faster and faster, but again the culprit maintained the lead.
'he's not normal' Danny thought again narrowing his eyes, looking at the back of the culprit in suspicion and apprehension.
At the end of the alleyway was a dead end, nowhere else to go 'good' Danny thought as he finally caught up to the culprit.
"Just leave the bag dude, my friend has things in there she values very much, and I would appreciate it if you give it back" Danny calmly stated, trying not to antagonize the potential supernatural threat in front of him.
The Culprit soon turns around, and for a moment he thought he was looking in a mirror, same messy black hair, same green -but Danny knew his original eyes color was blue- eyes but the boy in front of him had more of a sea-green tint to his then Danny's emerald green.
Even that damn smirk that irritates Caimy every once in a while.
"Yeah, and what will you do if I don't?" the boy asked with a snarked, giving Danny a toothy grin.
Danny felt a headache coming "Dude, just leave the bag, please?" Danny asked kindly.
But the boy simply said "No"
Danny signed "Fine" soon Danny's eyes glowed
The boy felt sleepy all of a sudden, his vision began to blur and he fell with a thud on the wet floor.
Danny walked up to the sleeping boy and took the bag "Sorry dude, but the items in the bag are really important. Sorry" Danny apologizes, but he knew no one would answer, his illusion magic caused the kid to fall asleep after all. Soon he started to walk away.
"Say that to my face idiot" Danny halted in his footsteps and whirled around just in time for a foot hitting his face sending him flying.
Danny comically bounces a few times before coming to a stop, he groaned and stood up shakily. And looked at the boy in anger.
"You wanna go? Fine" Danny set the bag down and took a stance.
"I can do this all night stinky" the boy insulted.
"really? Stinky? Couldn't say any other insult street rat?" Danny insulted back.
The boy grits his teeth "Shut up lanky!"
"Good, but I'm wearing baggy clothes I could be jacked and filled with muscle under these clothes" Danny responded.
"Then you're a muscle head" The boy countered
"What are you? 5?" Danny asked feeling a little sorry for the boy with how he uses insults.
"What? NO! I'm 9! How old are you Then!" the Boy yelled.
Danny looked amused "The names Danny, I'm 10 years old"
The boy snorted "Percy…old man" Percy snorted
Danny made a face "Really? I'm 1 year older, barely even a teenager and you call me old man? Dude, you gotta improve your insults"
Percy looked annoyed "Oh yeah? Like what kind of insult?"
Danny shrugged "I don't know, dimwit, brick head, fruit loop"
"Fruitloop?" Percy asked confused
Danny made an exasperated sign "Dude, are we gonna fight or-"
Once again Danny was hit in the face.
"Damn brat!" Danny muttered holding the side of his cheeks.
He looked up and saw Percy looking down with a smirk "You sure like kissing the ground Daniel"
Danny was now fuming, he got hit twice in the face!
Danny stood up quickly and rush towards Percy.
Percy yelped at the speed and he blocked Danny's fist with his forearms.
Percy grits his teeth and was being pushed back by the force of the punch.
Percy moved to the side and let the punch go through and let it sail past him, he dropped down and swept Danny's feet from under him.
Danny lost his balance as he started to fall, Percy was quick to take advantage and tried to elbow Danny's stomach.
But Danny blocked with both his palms and kicked Percy of him, Percy rolled on the ground by the force of the kick but caught himself and recovered crouching.
Danny stood up slowly.
Percy smirked even more "Maybe you should marry the ground dude, you fell for it thrice!" Percy laughed.
Danny despite the anger and embarrassment had a small smile "Oh yeah? You met my foot, maybe the two of you can get to know each other?"
Percy shrugged "Nope! Your foot stinks, stinky" Percy winked
Danny's eyebrow twitched "Good one"
"Thanks" Percy smirked.
Danny also smirked.
The two boys soon rush each other, both having a large smile on their faces.

Caimy soon made her way to the dead-end alleyway and saw two boys on the wet floor bruises all over and laughing their heads off. Both wore a smile as they looked up to the rainy night sky.
Danny was the first to notice Caimy and struggled to even look up to her "Hey Caimy, I think we found the friend we were looking for"
Next to him, Percy gave Caimy a grin.
"Do I want to know why the two of you are laying on the floor with bruises all over but smiling like the two of you are best friends?" Caimy mocked asked.
"It's a guy thing" Danny and Percy answered at the same time.
"Boys are weird," Caimy said with a sign.
"Back at you girl" Again the two said at the same time.
"Creepy…" Caimy muttered a shiver ran down her spine.

The three kids sat in a dinner that was still open late at night, the waiter and cook looked skeptical on why three kids were out late at night but shrugged their shoulders and made their meals.
The trio sat at the farthest table, all three gobbling up food like there was no tomorrow.
With 3 plates each, the three signed contently, rubbing their full stomachs.
"Hey, who are you guys?" Percy asked having never eaten that much food In a long time.
"Well I'll introduce myself again, I'm Danny" Danny waved at Percy with a smile.
"and I'm Caimy" Caimy gave Percy a friendly smile.
"Percy, Percy Jackson" he reached his hand put it for the two to shake.
"Nice to meet you, Percy," Caimy and Danny said.
"Why did you steal my bag?" Caimy then asked
Percy looks embarrassed and ashamed "I needed the money…" he whispered but both Caimy and Danny heard, they narrowed their eyes.
"Doesn't your parents give you some?" Caimy asked.
Percy shook his head "No, I don't know my Dad and… my mom died last year and my stupid smelly and fat stepfather threw me out as soon as he got mom's insurance" Percy scowled when mentioned his stepfather.
Caimy looked at Danny with a blank expression "I told you, you'll jinx us"
Danny looked at her owlishly, while Percy looked lost.
Caimy then looked at Percy sympathetically "we understand the feeling of losing something"
Percy looked at them in surprise "What?" was his smart reply.
Caimy looked down in sadness and Danny in anger and betrayal.
Caimy then said "We understand the feeling of losing family, I lost my mother and father"
Danny then said "And I was betrayed by mine, only my sister loved me, and she is nowhere to be seen" Danny grit his teeth as he felt the phantom pains of the lashing his mother gave him.
Percy looked at them in sympathy and camaraderie, feeling a connection to them through shared pain and hardship.
"So, what do you guys what from me?" Percy asked.
Caimy answered "Not here, we are currently staying in a cheap motel, we can talk their" she then looked at the torn and filthy clothes Percy was wearing "and get you some change of clothes"
Percy looked at his attire and blushed "…Yeah, it would feel amazing having a shower after months, and a place with an actual bed"
The trio then paid -Or Danny tricked- the waiter that they paid for the food and made their way to the motel, it wasn't pretty to look at on the outside, and the rooms were moldy, at best and falling apart at worst. But it served its function.
There were two beds in the room, the kids were sitting on them. Percy on one and Danny and Caimy on the other.
Caimy took a deep breath and asked bluntly "Percy, what do you know about the supernatural?"
Percy blinked at the question "Like peter pan?" Caimy shook her head "Wait like mermaids?" Caimy nodded.
"You see Percy, the myths and legends are true, Devils, Angles, Gods, it's all real" Percy was about to call it a bluff and a joke before Danny revealed his wings.
Percy looked at the fiery green wings in awe, green flames danced and formed the shape of a wing three times Danny's Hight. But the strangest thing was he felt cold instead of warm.
"W-what?" Percy looked on with a gobsmacked expression.
Caimy soon followed Danny's lead and revealed her white wings.
"We are Devils Percy, and I want you to be part of my peerage," Caimy asked with sincerity.
Percy looked taken aback at the offer, a devil? Him? Weren't devils bad people? But Caimy and Danny were his age, they fed him and let him stay in their motel room to rest. If they are devils, then why are they so nice?
Percy was hard press on what to do, he first discovers that Angels, Devils, and Gods are real, and he was being offered to be a Devil people he just met. A part of him told him to run and get away from these people.
But the more vocal majority of his mind told him to accept the offer. What did he have to lose? His mother is dead and his birth father abandons him and his mother, leading to his mother dying.
He thought over it longer, then he looked at Danny and Caimy, Danny looked at him in a silent plea to accept. While Caimy looked at him with a smile, a smile that his mother once had on her face when welcoming him back from school.
He made his decision "I… Accept"
Caimy rushed towards Percy embracing him in a tight hug, Danny looked on with a smile knowing they will have another friend on their journey.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Caimy said repeatedly.
Percy smiled awkwardly "So um, how will I become a devil then?"
Caimy broke the hug and smiled at him "lay down on the bed, I promise this won't hurt, may sting a little but no worries!" she said excitedly.
Percy did as was told, sweat pouring down his face a little nervous.
Caimy was then over him, with a knight piece in hand.
"I Celestine Caim! Hereby give you the pleasure of becoming my first Knight! Rejoice your new life!" She then places the piece on Percy's chest and…
Nothing happened, no glowing nothing.
Caimy looked shocked, as well as Danny, Percy looked even more nervous.
"I-I it didn't work?" Percy said feeling of disappointment going through him
Caimy waved him off "No, no, just need a little more juice" Caimy then took another Knight piece and placed it on Percy's chest.
This time it glowed the same grey as Danny's
Percy shut his eyes feeling something weird pass over his body.
Then he screamed in utter agony
"AHHHHH!"
Caimy's eyes widen in horror and immediately started to cast a spell, her eyes widen even more.
"He's a demigod…" Caimy whispered in both awe and terror.
"AHHH!" Percy continued to scream.
"Caimy! What's happening!" Danny yelled in desperation looking at their new friend in worry.
"I-Its because he's a demigod… Demigods have divine blood in them and well, devil and divine don't mix…" Caimy explained in a morbid tone.
"So what are we going to do?! We need to help Percy!" Danny was frantic, looking at the pained, spasming, and screaming boy.
Caimy shook her head and looked down "The only thing we can hope for now is for the energies to separate themselves, and have them realize they are destroying Percy's body instead. It requires Percy to have will like any other for him to survive…" She looked at her new peerage member as if the pain Percy was feeling was felt by her.
Minute's pass and soon the screams turned into whimpers, and soon ragged breaths
"I… hah… That was…ha… Intense" Percy joked even though he was feeling like he had just dove headfirst in a pit of fire then drank acid after.
Percy soon felt droplets of water on his face, Percy struggled to look up and saw his new King? was that the right term? Looking at him with tears flowing down her face.
"Sorry, sorry, sorry. I didn't know you're a Demigod, you could have died, I'm sorry Percy please forgive me" Caimy cried out for forgiveness, Danny was beside her, his hand on her side giving her a half hug for support.
"Its… Ok…" Percy then drifted off to sleep, tired of nearly being ripped apart by his own body.

When Percy woke up, he felt like laying on something soft, he soon remembered he was sleeping on a bed and not on the concrete pavement in an alleyway.
He soon sat up and saw Danny off to the side sleeping on a chair and Caimy by his bed laying her head on the mattress.
Percy felt bad worrying about his two new friends, but Damn did yesterday hurt like hell.
"Danny? Caimy? Hello," Percy droned out, trying to wake up the two.
Danny was first to stir.
"Percy, can you keep it down? I'm trying to sleep here…" Danny said sleepily.
Then he shot up from his chair and looked at Percy with wide eyes "Percy!"
Danny rushed towards him and looked Percy over "Dude! Are you fine? Do you feel like being torn apart and reassembled over and over? Are you sure you're fine?" Danny started to bombarded Percy with a Question.
The commotion Danny was causing woke up Caimy as well
"Hmm? Morning Danny, Percy" she greeted a little dazed.
"wait… Percy?" she looked at the sea-green-eyed boy.
"Percy! Are you alright? Do you feel any pain? How many fingers am I holding? Oh, Maou did you become Def?! I'm Sorry!" Caimy soon started to ramble about Percy's health like Danny.
And for the first time since his mother was alive, Percy felt a fuzzy feeling, the feeling of belonging and family.
"Guys! It's fine, I'm ok, see?" he then did a pose "see? Good as new- what the hell is that!"
Percy then pointed at the turquoise-colored wings behind him, Percy looked at them in awe and flapped them slightly to test them they weren't as big as Danny Percy said a little miffed.
"Weird" Percy mumbled.
Soon though water started to collect on his wings, which grew to nearly as big as Danny's.
"Ok that's even weirder" Percy mumbled.
Danny and Caimy looked on with awe at the wings Percy had.
"hey, Caimy?" Danny asked
"Yes, Danny?"
"Do reincarnated Devils usually have a different colored or different form of wings?"
"No, they are usually black…"
"Huh, guess your just a natural at picking the strange and awesome ones huh?" Danny gave Percy and Caimy a grin.
Caimy and Percy smiled at Danny.
But soon someone started to knock on their door.
It was Danny who answered as he was the closes.
He opened the door and saw a girl a bit older than them around 12 years old, she had brown hair and… flaming green eyes?
"Hello dear can I come in?" the girl asked softly with a smile.
Danny and the others felt something around the newcomer, something divine.
"Who are you," Danny asked narrowing his eyes.
The girl just kept smiling at them kindly.
"I am Hestia, the Greek goddess of the hearth and home" she stated still having a motherly smile looking at the kids in the room who now wore shocked and scared expressions, well Percy looked confused than scared.
"Are you going to let me in young man? Do not worry, I am not here to start any confrontation, I swear" Hestia said
The three kids, especially Danny looked weary, but let her in, what can they even do? They may be Devils but even three of the combines won't be able to match a god, not yet at least.
"Thank you, Danny" Hestia thanked Danny with a smile.
"How do you know my name? and can I ask why you are here um, Lady Hestia?" Danny said a little unsure of what to call a goddess.
Hestia giggled "You're so cute! Well I know all of your names, and I am here to talk to Percy" the attention then focused on Percy, who looked nervous.
"Um, Lady Hestia what is it?" Percy asked a little… too bluntly
But Hestia only laughed "You're just like your father Percy"
Percy's eyes widen so too did the other kids "You know my father?" Hestia nodded.
"Yes Percy I know your father and that is why I am here to talk to you about your father and the world you will be part of from now on," Hestia said.
