AN: I know it's been a while! I don't have much time to write chapter stories, but I will get back on track as soon as I can. Until then, I have time to fill in these little one shots that I've been meaning to add to bring a little more Kelly and Dylan into our lives.
These one shots are in no particular order, so don't be alarmed if they jump ahead and back in time. This piece will take place when their son Jack Taylor McKay is 17 years old. They now have a little girl as well, a 16 year old Vivian Paris McKay. Kelly found out she was pregnant again 11 months after Jack was born - her and Dylan wasted no time in their favorite room ;).
-Party Crashers
Dylan grumpily turned his morning alarm off and rubbed his eyes. He turned back to face his wife Kelly who had also heard the alarm.
"I really don't feel like getting up." She moaned in a soothing high pitched voice
"Me neither." He groaned, pulling her toward him, taking a deep inhale as her soft strands of hair brushed against his cheek. "Although, I do know one, most effective way to get up in the morning." He winked at her. After all these years he still make her feel flustered with that cheeky look on his face.
"What did you have in mind?" She smirked
"Well, Mrs McKay..." He cleared his throat. "I was thinking a little of this..." He slumped himself over to her and planted kisses down one side of her neck, "and a little of this..." He made his way to the other side, "And maybe... even this." His lips lightly hovered over hers until she gave into the kiss. It wasn't long until they were locked in their usual passionate embrace.
"Mum, could you-" Vivian gasped as she opened her parents bedroom door. "Ew. Ew. Ew!" She exclaimed running down stairs.
"Oh god." Kelly sighed,
"Isn't that... every kids' nightmare." Dylan couldn't help but chuckle.
"Dylan." Kelly rolled her eyes.
"Wha-? She didn't see anything." Dylan found the whole scene humorous.
"I locked eyes with her." Kelly squealed, which made Dylan laugh harder. "I'll go talk to her." She grabbed her bathrobe and head downstairs.
"What's wrong?!" Jack ran out of his bedroom at the sound of his sister's tantrum
"Mum. Dad. Are ridiculous!" She felt as though she was hyperventilating. Kelly came downstairs in that moment. "You guys have officially ruined my morning!" Vivian snapped
"Baby..." Kelly sighed, wanting to laugh at her daughter's dramatization of the events that just transpired, "I'm sorry, but in all fairness, you could have knocked on your parents' bedroom door."
"Why can't you guys be, like... normal! You and dad act like teenagers and you're not! My friends don't run into their parents all the time! It's just wrong!"
"Viv..." Dylan joined them downstairs, "With all due respect, I'm sure your friends' parents get freaky too." He chuckled
"Dad!" Vivian groaned, grossed out completely.
"Well, maybe not as often as your mum and I get freaky." He winked at Kelly, "But, hey... how do you think you got here?" He chuckled
"DAD!" Vivian cried out, scoffing as she turned on her heel. Dylan looked at his son, who was equally as appalled
"I'm with her..." Jack sighed, "That's too much information.
"Stop teasing them." Kelly rolled her eyes
"What? They gotta have something to tell a shrink one day." He grinned.
"Come here, Kel." Dylan called to her, once the kids were gone to school, in that raspy whisper that made her name sound so good.
"Technically, I'm supposed to go to work." She wrapped her arms around his neck and planted a kiss on his lips
"Ugh, alright fine." He breathed out, "At least we've got this weekend right."
"About that..." Kelly began, as she pulled out of his grasp
"Nah, Kel come on... " He pulled her back, "Me. You. No kids. The Fairmont Hotel. Kingsize bed. Strawberries and wine."
"I know, don't tempt me." She whined, "But, it's just... I don't know if we should leave the kids unsupervised."
"They'll be fine. We were left alone much younger than that."
"My point exactly." Kelly said firmly
"Alright, but..." Dylan sighed, "Jim and Cindy left Brenda and Brandon alone when they were 17... remember?"
"Oh, yeah I remember. The cops came, Brandon drove drunk, and the house was packed with booze." Kelly folded her arms
"Oh yeah..." Dylan let out a sheepish grin, "I forgot about that.
"Seriously, has anyone else ever had to deal with parents that are so... sexual." Vivian cringed with disgust, until she found comfort through her boyfriend Eric Sanders' arm wrapping around her.
"Don't use that word when describing mum and dad." Jack crinkled his forehead
"It can't have been that bad!" Charlotte Carson comforting her boyfriend Jack.
"Charl.. unfortunately, this isn't the first time we've caught them in compromising positions." Jack murmured
"Come here, babe." Steve's son consoled Vivian, "Think about it like this, it's at least nice to know that love doesn't always burn out right? Even after all the years they've been together."
"You didn't catch them this morning." She groaned
"Even I've seen your parents make out one too many times." James Walsh chuckled as he joined them, patting Jack on the back.
"Look who it is!" Jack beamed, "Jimmy Walsh, the new editor in chief of the Blaze!"
"Don't all applause at once." James mocked, followed by the gang cheering him on, including Rose Vasquez and the twins Daniel and Delilah Silver who joined in to celebrate James' promotion.
"Come to think of it..." Daniel began. "Uncle Dylan and aunt Kelly being overly sexual isn't the only weird thing. All our parents really have no boundaries." He paused, "I mean, think about it... that's how my dad and your mum became brother and sister from our grandparents boning." Daniel joked to Jack, as the girls groaned at his choice of words.
"Wait.. he's got a point. My dad dated my girlfriend's mum." Jack cringed. "And Viv, mum dated Eric's dad."
"Guess, you guys are just as sick as them, then." Rose chuckled
"Alright, this is getting worse by the second. Let's change the subject! We have to celebrate my cousin!" Charlotte insisted, "Party at the peach pit!"
"No, that won't be necessary." James shook his head
"Yes, it is!" Charlotte said firmly, and James knew that Charlotte was just like her mother - his aunt Brenda. Once she had an idea, you couldn't talk her down.
"I just had a great idea!" Vivian gasped
"What a coincidence, so did I!" Jack smirked
"We can do it at ours!" Vivian exclaimed
"Wha-? Wait, no... That wasn't my idea." Jack replied
"Why not? Our parents will be gone for the weekend."
"Viv... cool it for a sec, alright? You're gonna get caught."
"Come on, Jack! Do something fun for once, broody!" Vivian mocked him. Jack glanced at his best friend James, who shrugged.
"The peach pit is fine." James assured,
"Oh wait, uncle Brandon will be there though." Charlotte worried,
"No, I'm sure we can convince Nat to tell his business partner to let us kids have the place to ourselves for the night."
"That's a lot to ask!" Eric sighed, "What about your place? Aren't your parents away?" He turned to Rose
"Yeah, but my sister Hannah is here from college. She's way too responsible to let us get away with anything." Rose groaned
"Well then, it's down to my cousins." Daniel smirked at Jack. Jack glanced at his sister and cousin Delilah who were both looking up at him with puppy dog eyes.
"Fine. But if things go south, it's on you, Viv." Jack warned
"Yay!" Vivian squealed
"I'm so anxious." Kelly sighed
"Don't worry babe." Dylan assured, "I left Jack in charge. He's the oldest, he'll keep Viv in line."
"Doubt it." Kelly scoffed, "She's a wild child... with our luck the house will have burned down by the time we're back." Dylan couldn't help but chuckle
"They're good kids... I mean, they're a little crazy, but look where they come from" Dylan grinned
"I guess, we just gotta trust we did a good enough job at this point." Kelly assured herself
"Remember the rule? If they turn out good, it's because of us. If things go wrong, it's everyone else's fault." He insisted. He always knew how to make Kelly laugh. He slid over to her and cuddled up beside her on the bed of their hotel suite. "God, it feels good to be alone with you." He moved her hair behind her shoulders and kissed her neck
"Oh, I know." Kelly let out a sigh as she felt Dylan's breath on her neck between nibbles. "Teenagers are so needy. Wanting stuff from us all the time. It's always me. me. me."
"Selfish punks." Dylan joked
"Right?" Kelly laughed, "Vivian's constant whining..."
"Jack's always broody." Dylan added
"Ha! Pot calling kettle black." Kelly laughed and Dylan playfully scolded.
"Yet I miss them when they're not around." Kelly exhaled deeply
"I know." He smiled at her. It was these little moments that they knew, they loved parenting together. "We'll be back with our big babies in no time. But right now, we've got a more pressing issue."
"I can feel it." She naughtily suggested
"What do you suggest we do?" He cocked one eyebrow
"I think... I want to enjoy my weekend alone with my very sexy husband." She announced
"mmhmm." He began to kiss her neck again, feeling excited. They began to caress each other, delicately undressing each other and stealing kisses in between. They never could get enough of each other.
"Hold that thought." Dylan paused, leaving Kelly hungry for more.
"Dylan-"
"It's our weekend alone. I have the most beautiful woman. It needs to be perfect."
"It is perfect!" She exclaimed, but Dylan shushed her and grabbed the phone.
"Hi, room service? Yeah, can I have a bucket of strawberries and cream please." He winked at Kelly and her lips curled into a smirk.
Dylan and Kelly had spent the last 4 hours making love. They ended up snuggling on the floor and the duvet somehow managed to roll off the bed with them. They sat upright on the carpet, resting their backs against the bed as they shared a glass of champagne.
"You... are very sexy." Dylan still could never take his gaze off of Kelly, who blushed at his comment. She still managed to arouse him with her seductive smirk and he still managed to sweep her off her feet after all these years.
"Oh, there is nothing like being adored by Dylan McKay." She beamed up at him sweetly, her head now rested on his shoulder as he kissed the top of her head
"So, about this morning..." She began
"What about it?" Dylan shrugged
"We're scarring our children for life, you know that right?" She pretended to sound serious
"When they get older, they'll be glad we modeled a passionate romance for them. Better than having parents who are at each other's throats."
"True..." She smiled, knowing that their kids were getting a very different upbringing that she and Dylan had. They have been unordinary parents and maybe didn't always make the best decisions, but their kids were loved and knew they were loved, and that's all that kids need.
Just then, their meaningful, tender moment was interrupted by a phone call.
"Yeah?" Dylan answered, "What? No no, it's alright. Thank you for telling me."
"What is it?" Kelly asked once he hung up.
"It's a good thing I've got friends in high places." He sneered, followed by Kelly's bewilderment. "That was Richard from the police department. Apparently the neighbors have called complaining about noise... coming from our house.
Dylan and Kelly arrived home to find the house packed with high schoolers. Jack and Vivian stood there in shock as the rest of the gang began packing up music and heading out the door as quickly as possible.
"You wanna explain yourselves?" Dylan insisted, once all the kids were gone.
"Dad..." Jack began, but Vivian interrupted him
"We had no idea it was gonna be this many people! We only invited our best friends and it kinda escalated."
"Hey!" Kelly warned, "We know that song and dance alright. You knew having a party here would be disruptive, yet you went and did it behind our backs."
"Mum, just listen..." Jack interjected "We'll clean it up, alright? We're sorry. It's not like we drank or anything."
"Jack." Dylan eyed his son, "You know how I feel about liars. I left you in charge, I trusted you."
"I know, but-"
"No buts, Jack. Clean it up and go to bed."
"Dad!" Vivian pleaded
"Viv... this has you written all over it." Dylan warned, "I'll deal with you later."
Dylan and Kelly sat in Dylan's home office. They could hear their kids making a lot of noise as they attempted to clean up the house.
"Well..." Kelly sighed "Who do you think is the culprit?"
"You know who." Dylan warned, "That girl... she's always testing me."
"She was a daddy's girl from the get-go. I told you to never give in. You always let her get away with everything."
"Well I've learned my lesson." He chuckled, "But, she's gotta learn. No more pouting and whining to get what she wants... she reminds me of someone." Dylan glanced at Kelly from the corner of his eye.
"What are you saying?" Kelly playfully hit him
"The two blondes in my life who have me wrapped around their finger. Innocent eyes gazing up at me and flicking their hair back when they know they've done something wrong. Knowing their sweetness can wear me down."
"You don't mean me." Kelly pretended to gasp. Knowing full well that her daughter did adopt her habits in getting the men in their life to do what they wanted.
"Kelly McKay, don't you look at me like that." He warned. "Not falling for it this time."
"Aww." Kelly sat on his lap and wrapped her arms around him. "Don't be mad. They've learned their lesson." She lightly grazed his lips with hers as Jack knocked on the door.
"Mum, dad." He called.
"Come in," Dylan answered. Kelly got up while Dylan remained behind his desk.
"Listen... it wasn't Viv's fault. It was my idea. I wanted to celebrate Jimmy's promotion at school."
"That's sweet, son." Dylan acknowledged "...Lying. But sweet."
"Huh?" Jack was startled,
"Kid, I know this was your sister. Go to bed. Your mother and I will decide your punishments in the morning."
Just as Jack left, his sister headed into the office.
"It's not Jack's fault. He told me not to do it, I just really wanted to have some fun. I swear I won't do it again!" Vivian pleaded.
"Viv, bed. now." Kelly said firmly.
"Alright. Your mum and I have been talking and we decided that.. Viv, you're grounded for 2 weeks."
"What? But I came clean! I said I'm sorry!" Vivian moaned
"Hey, you want it to be 3 weeks?" Kelly warned and Vivian complied.
"And you, Jack. One week. For lying. You know how I feel about liars." Dylan explained. Jack held his hands up in defeat, accepting the grounding.
"Great. I tell the truth and get grounded. You lie and get off one week earlier." Vivian pouted.
"Why 1 and not 2?" Kelly asked as her and Dylan got into bed that night.
"He lied." Dylan replied
"Yeah, exactly." Kelly was confused
"He lied to protect his sister. The way you and your brother David did. The way Brandon and I would... I liked that. It lets me know they have a strong bond and they'll be there for each other, even when we're not around." Dylan sighed
Kelly leaned over and kissed his cheek, "You are an amazing dad, Dylan."
"Well, it's only 'cause I picked one hell of a baby mama." He smirked, pulling her towards him for a smooch.
