I really hope that I can improve my writing so that I can give you guys the great story that I want to show. Granted, this first part is going to be boring because it involves a backstory that no one cares about but it needs to be done so you are going to have to wait a little bit longer till we get to UA. Maybe like after this chapter. Or this chapter.
Chapter 2: The Deal
Luna was pacing around outside on a circular satellite known as The Lookout. It has been eight days since the incident and she was still shaken about what happened. Who wouldn't be? She saw her brother get shot through the chest, bleeding in her arms. When she thought she would lose her brother she was crushed. John, who decided to play the role of what appeared to be a support animal, tried to comfort her and inform her that Leo would still live through this.
Even though he is alive, which is still a miracle, how would it affect him? Would he be the same brother as before? It weighed down on her like nothing else. She could only hope that her upbeat brother who never let anything keep him down manages to maintain that personality.
Luna is knocked out of her thoughts by a hand on her shoulder. She turns to see that the assistant of Universe 500.7's kami, Mr Popo, was next to her."If it is Leo's condition you are worried about, young Luna, I would not worry. Chris is more than capable of raising Leo." Mr Popo Comforted. Why was he always so...Mr Popo-ish?
Luna looked down."He shouldn't have to have raised him." She wondered how Leo took the news that their parents refused to leave work to help because when they heard that they had to miss out eight years of their lives. If Chris didn't volunteer to go in with him then Leo would be alone. She distinctly recalls Chris bringing an AI with him so that he could teach the basic schooling which worried her more than anything. Chris was a good martial artist but not the best to teach a class, let alone Leo.
She heard a door open behind them so she turned to see an aged Chris exiting the time chamber. His black hair going to his eyes and his horribly shaved beard all scruffy. His outfit seemed fine but that was because he knew the clothes beam. He cleared his throat and began to speak.
"Lady, wolf, namekian, and whatever you are, Mr Popo, let me introduce you to Adult Leo." Chris stepped to the side and another individual walked out. Luna gasped as she realized how much he had changed.
Leo stood at a solid 5'7 with a black tank top and gi pants. His hair, however long before, touched his shoulders making it clear that they had no effective way to cut hair. He had a slight stubble on his chin but something that may not be permanent. His arms were clearly bigger than the average person but not big enough so that it was weird. And the expression on his face was that of...pain?
Chris noticed her concern."Give him a moment to adjust, he hasn't sensed much in his time in the chamber and all the life on this planet is hitting him right now. He should be fine in a minute." Chris clarified. And just as he stated, Leo went from pain to curiosity as he looked around. Only to get tackled by a green haired child.
"Leo! I'm so happy that you're alive! Do you have any idea how worried I was? I.." she was stopped short when Leo kneeled down and hugged her. It surprised her but she eventually returned the hug. Those around them were happy to see that the reunion went well enough. John went up to Chris.
"So how did it go?" asked the wolf. Chris took a minute to think and responded. "It wasn't bad, but I think it could have gone better. We haven't had a decent meal in a while so if everyone is fine with it I'm going to order some UberEats." He immediately brought out his phone."Leo,Luna, what do you want."
Leo turned to Chris."For you to get a new phone before that old thing explodes.",Leo said. Chris then looked at his phone to realize it was, in fact steaming, the guardian of Earth, Dende, immediately went behind john. Mr Popo moving a solid fifty meters back and Leo shielding Luna. Then the phone went off right next to Chris's ear. Creating an explosion similar to a hand grenade. It didn't do much to Chris but give him a shock. He then proceeded to spit out a piece that went into his mouth.
"You know what, fair enough." Chris then started laughing. John looked on then slowly started to let loose some snickers. Eventually everyone was laughing.
3 months later
Chris had been called up to a meeting in another universe. This universe was new to the multiverse and the governments wanted to keep their distance from other universes. Chris and an ambassador in Japan to form a deal so that they could start off with a small alliance.
When Chris heard that this meeting would be in a high school he was greatly surprised. But he assumed they had their reasoning. As he entered a doorway to what he believed to be the principal's office, with the ambassador right in tow, he immediately noticed what appeared to be a mix between a mouse, a bear, and a dog.
A yes this world also appeared to have a majority with powers. Known as quirks, this power was world wide. He remembered Leo's reaction when he told him. He was so shocked. And after hearing about the world he asked if Chris would put him on the list of people that would have a particular assignment. More on that later.
"Good morning ambassador, and you must be Chris, please sit down." the mammal offered. They both sat down in chairs across from the desk. "I assume you have come with a decision on our offer."
"Indeed we have Mr. Nezu," the ambassador stated. "Our governments have agreed to let this Universe alone for the time being as long as you take on a new hero from our world as a 'peacemaker' as you put it." The principal looked glad to hear this. "Here is the list of candidates, we have chosen. Just realize that in our world, powers are a rarity and no one if anyone is born with them." The ambassador handed a fairly large file to the principal.
Nezu looked at the stack, realizing that maybe he should get some of the other teachers to help him sort through it. Many other heroes had been notified of another universe making contact with their own. When they heard it was a quirkless universe many shrugged it off believing that the other world wouldn't pose a threat. Nezu was able to convince the prime minister that this wasn't the case and had proposed the deal to put a person from Universe 1 into a hero school to make a first step to better both worlds.
"Well, I believe we are done here."Chris stood up. In his line of work he was always a busy man. Many universes always seem to need reinforcements and he wasn't one to leave good people on the front lines alone. Even if he had to literally be the first defense.
As Chris began to walk towards the exit he was blocked by a man, who if he didn't sense their life energy from, would have surprised him because the man looked like he was a human freaking caterpillar. The walking caterpillar gave him a glare."You seem to be in a hurry to leave. What is so concerning for the bodyguard?"
Chris narrowed his eyes at the man."I'm a soldier who came to make sure the ambassador is safe. We always take precautions. But it appears that there was nothing to worry about and now I must return to where I am needed."
"And where would you be needed at this time?" having raised his eyebrow, the man then reached into his sleeping bag that was still around him. Chris knew this man was skeptical of him being here so he decided to give him the truth. "The front line. I am a soldier."
After taking in the new information the stranger paused for a second before the next thing he sees him do is wrap him up in some scarf. The bindings didn't really push his movements very far, it just surprised Chris because this was the first time someone had used a scarf against him. "From the looks of you, you've taken a fair amount of lives. Give us a good reason why anyone on that list isn't a killer like you."
After regaining his senses he focused on the man in front of him. "Believe what you wish. But I know many people on that list that are good people. And I will not have you go and insult them. Also for the record, don't you think you're making a big assumption. You think people in our world have played the same rules as yours and anyone different is a monster. Just let me tell you that I have seen true monsters. We had to become them to stay alive."
"But is that also why we would benefit from this?" This caught the man's attention. "I see that both our world's need change, one that each one alone can't offer itself. That is why I convinced the ambassador over there and governments to accept this deal. Because we need to change."
"And what is it that this world needs to change then?" The man asked, tightening his scarf. Chris closed his eyes and then grabbed a piece of the scarf around his arm.
"A chance to allow everyone to have a chance. I've studied this world. The powerless suffer while the powerful reap benefits. And although there are powerful people with good hearts, with how many people have been left with no choice in their lives but to obey the strong. Well our world needs heroes, not soldiers. Yours needs to see that quirkless isn't powerless. Hakai."
The scarf in his hand then vaporized into purple energy as it vaporized off the man's chest. This surprised the man to the point that he stood still like dear in headlights. He then looked at his hand where his scarf was, then felt a hand on his soldier. "Remember that Hero."
Having made his point, Chris made his way out of the room with the ambassador running to catch up to his bodyguard. When the door shuts behind him Nezu turns to the teacher. "Mr. Aizawa, although I do understand your reasoning, do you truly believe that that was the best course of action?"
Aizawa turns to his boss. "Just because we fight on the same side doesn't mean we should trust each other. Although what that man said is true, we cannot trust him entirely." The pro hero turns to leave. "When you decide to start looking through those files, tell me when you find any good candidates. I would like to make sure we don't end up letting an untrustworthy individual onto school grounds."
"What if I do one better?" Nezu says making Aizawa freeze at the doorway. "I will schedule a meeting with the other teachers tomorrow so that we may decide as a school who would be best."
Aizawa ponders this and nods his head before leaving. Nezu looks down at the giant file. "It may also save some time."
The Next Day
"Thank you, all of you, for coming here today" Nezu sits at the end of a table that is accompanied by the many teachers who teach at UA. This includes the upcoming teacher and number 1 hero, All Might. "I am going to assume you have all kept up with the news."
Several teachers nodded. Having all heard of a deal between their world and this "Universe 1" that has recently been discovered. Nezu continued. "Well today I believe it is only right that we all ,who will be teaching this year, get a say on which individual will enter UA this year."
The pro hero, Thirteen, raised her hand. "We are aware of why we came here sir, but before we begin is there any special regulations this student will have?"
Nezu nodded to her question and replied, "All normal rules will still stand, including needing to earn their spot by passing our entrance exam." This raised some eyebrows. Ectoplasm then began to speak.
"Rumors have it that this other universe is primarily quirkless. Would that mean that any on this list would be a rarity of beings or will it have just random students from their world." After he was finished, Aizawa began to speak up.
"This list has potential candidates for beings that their world has chosen to represent them in this world. More than likely they are just young soldiers who mainly have knowledge on armed conflict."
Nezu then interrupted him. "Know we don't know for certain who these individuals are but we can clarify that we sent a special request to their government on these requirements and we have been promised that these individuals possess them. So without further adieu. Let's get started."
16 hours later
"Aizawa, can you please be a pal and lend me some coffee?" Present Mic muttered, almost too quiet to hear. "Aizawa?" Aizawa was currently face down in paper having run out of coffee an hour ago. After buying six boxes of it.
The other teachers weren't looking too hot either. Midnight was sprawn on the ground, Vlad king had gone mad and was currently scrolling through conspiracy theories on America, Ectoplasm had tried making clones to make this all go faster and currently they were all in a pile in the corner of the room, Thirteen was currently getting medical treatment from Recovery Girl, who originally didn't attend the meeting, Snipe had attempted to shoot himself and was passed out on the ground, having been tackled by a now unconscious, Hound Dog, Power Loader had left a while ago to work on the robots for the upcoming entrance exam, and All Might looked even more like a skeleton then what he normally looked like.
Nezu took a sip from his tea being the last one besides All Might and Present Mike standing. "Well this has been an experience, and a letdown."
What ruined the whole meeting was that every single file consisted of young students who, although were incredibly intelligent, possessed either no combat experience or only combat experience. They were all future soldiers. None were future hero material.
"Well we have to choose someone so let's go through them all again shall we." Nezu signed. The other heroes grumbled as they got up from where they were.
"Mr Nezu, I think it is safe to say this idea was a bust. This universe 1 has no potentially good heroes. We should just scrap the idea and come up with something else." Present Mike said quietly. There were murmurs of agreement from the other teachers.
Nezu looked hurt but knew they were right. They had been searching for hours for a good candidate. "It saddens me to say that you may be right. I shall inform the prime minister of our change of plans."
Nezu picked up the empty folder and began to walk out of the room.
"Wait"
Nezu stopped and he, as well as everyone else turned to see All Might pointing to the file. "There is something taped on the bottom. Nezu looked at the file to see an even smaller file on the bottom. Unnoticed until know because it was on the bottom of a mountain of papers.
Nezu returned to the table and placed the folder back on it. The other teachers were slowly making their way back to their seats.
Reading the file aloud, Nezu spoke the words of a sticky note attached to the smaller folder, "This file is not official. My student heard of this world and wanted to help. Please at least consider. Chris Dratten.
Aizawa scoffed at the note. "No way, we should not accept any student like him." Aizawa had stood up where he sat. The other teachers were shocked by this. Eraserhead had never displayed such displeasure. Well in this way at least.
Nezu waited for the man to calm down and take his seat before continuing, "I am fully aware that you do not trust Dratten, Mr Aizawa. However we are out of options. We should at least consider this last one. For you even agree that this deal could benefit everyone if it worked."
Mr Aizawa gritted his teeth but said nothing. With that the principal opened the file.
Name: Leonard (Leo) Akidna
Age:18
Education: Home school
"Eighteen years old? He is as old as our third years. What makes Dratten think he would be accepted?" spoke up Ectoplasm. Thirteen added "It states that he was home schooled, so with no degree of his own he would be put in with the first years. Would this be acceptable?"
Vlad King turned to the two pro heroes, "Not so, there are always people who get their education late." Nezu thanked the blood hero and continued.
Quirk: Quirkless
Power: Varied techniques, techniques learnt through his time training with his master, Dratten, has left the kid with enhanced traits and he also possesses martial arts across the multiverse. Including the life energy, ki.
Power loader slightly raised his hidden brow. "So this kid has learnt powers that make up for not having any gifts. This could mean he understands the value of hard work." This got the other teachers thinking, already seeing an improvement over the other applicants.
Nezu started to read again.
Stats listed below
Strength: 5/5
Speed:4/5
Technique:6/5
Intelligence:4/5
Cooperativeness:5/5
The teachers thought they misheard. Present Mike stood up from his chair, "IT BROKE THE SCALE, WHAT IS THIS KID!" The other teachers recoil from the loud outburst. Aizawa quickly fixes the issue by binding Mike up with his new scarf.
"If you think about it it's not surprising." Eraserhead adds. "The kid primary uses technique and skill. It may be the center on how the others got so strong." This seemed to calm down Present Mike who took his seat. "Continue"
Important info: After getting seriously injured in a supervillain attack, Leo(As he prefers to be called) was forced in a room with Chris Dratten, said room allowed the passage of time for 1 day out would mean a year in. After exiting the time chamber, Leo continued to help out throughout the universe. Searching for a way he could help as many people as he can. He tends to take the role of 'Big Brother' for those around him which would be the product of being the older brother of his twin sister Luna. As stated by Dratten and by Leo himself. HE DOES NOT KILL.
After finishing the last line, Nezu put down the file. The other teachers were busy trying to absorb all the knowledge they just obtained. "The kid has had it hard." Midnight stated. The other teachers nodded in agreement. Aizawa was a little more surprised then the rest. The kid seems like he was the exact opposite of the mentor he met. Merciful, willing to help, heck the kid had every reason to be like Dratten because of his past but if these files were anything to go by then he may actually be their best choice.
The principal stood up smiling. "I know we all are tired of doing this, with this new individual. Let's give it a vote. All who oppose this… Leo from entering UA raise your hand."
No hand was raised, however Aizawa added. "Only if he is in my class would I accept him entering. If he makes it through the exams."
Nezu gave a nod to the underground hero. "That would be reasonable. You're outnumbered anyway. However I should also add that this student will not take up any spot of the forty we already have. He would be your twenty-first student Mr Aizawa."
All Might, who had remained quiet the whole meeting, looked down at the file. "Big Brother huh, maybe this kid could help young Midoriya train? It would be good for that boy to have someone like this to grow with." All Might thought. One thing was for sure. Big things were about to happen.
I hope you all enjoyed it. It was better than chapter 1 and I think I'm improving. But please give me some feedback. I know the story is still bad but give it some time. However if I mess up on how a character would react, please tell me. I want you all to enjoy this story as much as I do making it. Until next time.
