Inuyasha was running through the forest. It was the night of the full moon, his human night. An omukade was chasing after him. He was bleeding and his clothes were torn and bloody. He ran until he was cornered. He was breathing heavy and was nearly unconscious.
"You will die Hanyo!" screamed the omukade. She was nearing him when a purifying arrow was shot at her. Before Inuyasha could see his savoir, he had fainted from the blood loss.
Kagome was just heading home, when she felt an evil yokia presence. She had been out picking herbs and had lost track of time. She knew the three children she had taken under her care was going to be worried for her, but before that she had to help who was in trouble.
She ran in the direction she felt the yokia. when she reached her destination, she saw an omukade cornering a man. She took an arrow, raised her bow and shot a purifying arrow at it, before she could help the man, he had fainted.
She ran to the man and started to check his wounds. She then started to rap his wounds, but the bleeding didn't stop. She got up and heaved him on to her back and began her journey home.
Inuyasha was awaken by the sound of giggling. When he opened his eyes, he saw a little girl about five playing with his ears. The sun was up, that meant he had regained his yokia ability. He could smell herbs, the fresh air outside and that the hut he was in was inhabited by three other persons. He had no idea why someone would help him, especially a priestess.
After all, most priestess and monks hated demons. A young woman had entered the room, upon seeing him awake, she smiled at him. The little girl got up and ran to the woman.
"My name's Kagome," said the black haired priestess, who was now holding the child on her hip.
"Inuyasha," he said to her and looked away. He was nervous. She was the first person other than his mother to be nice to him.
Inuyasha had spent the next three days in Kagome's hut. He was healed and was happy to have met the priestess. She was his first friend. He had met the two other children that lived with her. He had found out that the three children were orphans and Kagome had taken them in. He was sad to go when his wounds were healed. When he was about to leave, Kagome ran to him.
"Wait, Inuyasha," she shouted at him. He stopped and turned around and looked at her.
"This can be your save heaven if you want," she said. He looked at her in surprise.
"I put a barrier around this place. No one can find it unless I invite you, so I just thought that you could come and spend the night every time it was your human night," she said to him in a soft voice.
"You can visit anytime you want to."
Inuyasha looked at the priestess and was feeling warmth in his chest. This was the first time since his mother's death that someone had offered him protection. He nodded his head and took off into the forest to his father's land and to his half brother.
Inuyasha had came the next month to Kagome's. He then started to visit once a week. Thus began the friendship of the miko and hanyo.
