On One Condition

Darcy proposes to Elizabeth. She is willing to accept him but on one condition. I am glad some of you liked the first one. I nearly did not post that as I felt it had a tinge of sadness instead of my usual snarky shorts. Yes, it could be seen as silly or cheeky too. I originally had 4 standalone shorts but this “Saving Jane” snowballed unexpectedly. What do I do with the other 3?

"I have fulfilled my end of the bargain."

"So you have."

"Will you now accept my hand in marriage, my dearest, loveliest Elizabeth?"

"Yes. I am a woman of my word."

"You have made me the happiest of men. You may not return my feelings now but I pray that will change in time. I vow to do everything to make you happy."

"You did as I asked. That is a good start."

"And I will forever be your most humble servant."

"Do you love all your family?"

"Yes, including Aunt Catherine, despite her eccentricities."

"Then nothing is impossible, Fitzwilliam."
