I was walking behind Dooku as we approached Lothal's capitol building. There was a festive air in Lothal's capital.
"Why are we heading to the capitol building?" I asked Dooku.
"We must inform the government of the destruction of your village."
I just nodded in response.
"What can you tell me about your homeworld's government?"
"You don't already know?" I asked the man while smirking. "I thought that Jedi were supposed to know that sort of thing."
"No one is all knowing, but that doesn't mean we should try and know as much as possible."
That's true. In my past life, there were plenty of times that information saved me.
"Fair enough," I consented. "Anyway, my father and grandfather told me a lot about the government."
Well, that's not completely true. They never really told me much about the government.
Most of my understanding of Lothal's government comes from listening in on my grandfather's drunk ramblings after the vote on motion 314A, and how unfair it was.
I paused for a moment while I organized by grandfather's ramblings into a cohesive, non-bias, answer.
"The Lothal Senate meets in the capital building up ahead. The senate used to be made up of 500 elected members, one from each sector. The 500 members would select one person to be Lothal's prime minister. This changed last year with the passing of motion 314A, which restructured the government. It placed a minimum population that each sector had to cross to get a representative. Only 200 sectors meet this requirement."
Dooku's eyes narrowed. "How did this motion pass? I find it hard to believe that at least one hundred representatives voted to disenfranchise themselves."
"I'm not sure, but my grandfather mentioned something about the republic's representative to Lothal, a guy named Kenth Corrand, as being responsible for him losing his seat in the senate."
"Your grandfather had a seat in the senate?"
"Yes, but it wasn't that big of a deal, since the total population of our sector was just our village."
My sector, sector 500, was by far the smallest sector in terms of population. Sector 500 is also the sector furthest away from the capitol.
The overall population of Lothal is only around 800 million people. Of those, three-fourths of the population in the top 50 sectors. The Capitol has a population of almost two-hundred thousand people, making it the largest settlement in the entire world. The other fourth lives in distant sectors related to fishing, agricultural.
All the sectors rely on each other to survive but they aren't equal. The richest sector is sector 1, The Capital, while the agricultural sectors are the poorest.
The Capital's wealth comes from being the trade hub with the rest of the galaxy and controlling higher education on Lothal. Agricultural sectors have to either buy off-world goods at a marked-up price or get them of the black market. On top of that, farming villages have to also spend money on repairing our farming equipment.
It reminds me a lot of some of the third-world countries I visited in my life. Where the wealth was all concentrated in the hands of a small group of people, while everyone else is poor, fighting just to survive.
That fact should make me angry, especially since my family is…
Any emotions I felt disappeared in an instant. My brain blanking.
"What did your grandfather tell you about Kenth Corrand?"
"He didn't like him, he called him corrupted."
"Hm, is there anyone who your family trusted."
For some reason, it almost felt like I was being tested.
"There is Mr. Bridger, and his son Ephraim Bridger, though he's not much older than me. It's Mr. Bridger's job to collect votes from the isolate villages in my sector and organize disaster responses. He's also in charge of tax collection and census. I pretty sure they're the only civil servants to visit my village."
Dooku didn't respond. His attention was solely focused on the marketplace we just entered.
My face was deceptively neutral.
Walking through this place reminded me of trips to the market with my parents and sister. I can't wait to get off this world.
"Is something troubling you?"
"No," I responded while pushing down my feels. I can't deal with those right now. "I was just looking at the stalls."
The man didn't seem to believe me, but he didn't push the subject.
"Let me handle the talking, youngling," Dooku said as we reached the capital building.
I just nodded in response, having expected this. He would have to be a fool to let a five-year-old take charge. And he would have to be heartless to make me report the death of everyone I know.
We entered the capital building; it was relatively empty today. Probably because of today's Loth-Wolf festive.
"Oh! Hi! Shirou, right?" I heard a vaguely familiar voice call out to me.
I turned to look at a boy slightly older than me. "Hi, remember me!"
"Hi, Ephraim."
"Don't you live out in sector 500? What are you doing in the capitol? And who's this?"
"I'm here to see Kenth Corrand, do you know where he is." Dooku responded without giving his name.
"Um, ok," Ephraim responded, clearly not sure how to deal with Dooku. Ephraim pointed down a hallway. "His office is down that hallway."
"Thank you," Dooku said as he walked past Ephraim. I followed behind him.
Ephraim decided to follow us to.
"You didn't answer my question," Ephraim whispered to me. "Who's this guy?"
I sighed. "He's a travel that came to study Lothal's fauna."
"In that outfit?" Ephraim asked with an incredulous expression.
"And you know what a scientist should be wearing?"
"No… but I don't think they wear capes. Unless he's wearing that for the Loth-wolf festival."
I looked up and glared at Dooku's stupid cape and smirked at the thought of Dooku taking part in the festival.
The Loth-wolf festival is celebrated once a year, after the yearly harvest. The festival is similar to Halloween in my past world, in that everyone dresses up, but no one gives out candy.
Most people's costumes are based around their mask, which are all made to look like the face of the near-extinct Loth-wolf. Each mask is decorated with a special design, that is meant to represent the wear's unique traits.
The festival itself, dates back to the era of the first colonists. It's said that the colonist first harvest was mysteriously devastated by a wolf with red eyes and markings. The devastation left the colonist without food, or communications, but they were saved by a mysterious bird with a green and white fur. It's said that the bird healed the land and created Loth-wolves to protect the early Lothalites. Some legends even say that the wolves are created from the souls of deceased heroes of Lothal.
This festival, that takes place after the winter harvest, is meant to thank the Wolf with Red Eyes for not destroying our harvest. Its sister festival is held before the start of planting season in spring and is meant to ask the bird for protection.
Most people don't believe that the story actually happened, but I'm not so foolish. There is a grain of truth in every legend. It is completely possible that the Wolf with Red Eyes and the Bird were elementals that predated the arrival of the early colonist. Or something along that mode.
Then again, that's impossible to prove, and is based on the logic of my old world.
Dooku suddenly stopped in front of a random door, before glaring at Ephraim.
Ephraim shivered under Dooku's glare. Dooku opened his mouth to speak to Ephraim, probably to get him to leave. But he was interrupted by the door opening.
"Bridger! Where have you been?!" I looked inside the office to see a large man sitting at an ornate desk. It had the symbol of the republic on it.
Just like Dooku, the man was clearly not from Lothal. His clothing's quality was even higher than Dooku's, and he had a giant diamond ring on his right hand. He also had unnaturally pale skin, that looked like it's never been in sunlight.
The man reminded me of some corrupt politicians I killed in my past life. This guy must be the republic representative, Kenth Corrand.
"Huh? Who's that with you!?"
That comment caused me to look up at Dooku. The Jedi are supposed to work for the Republic, right? Shouldn't he have informed Corrand of his arrival?
And if he didn't, did he serious think he could just waltz right up to a government official?
Well… I guess it worked. Thinking back on it, the security around the capitol building is non-existent, even more so than you would expect on a holiday.
Dooku's eyes narrowed, as he walked into the office. "I'm surprised that you weren't told of my arrival. I'm jedi master Dooku."
The politician's eyes widened for a split second before he slipped into the guise of a politician. He had a false smile on his face. "Ah, Master Dooku! I hope my temporary assistant hasn't bothered you too much."
I glanced to the side to look at Ephraim. His face was frozen in shock. "He's a jedi!"
Everyone in the room ignored him.
"No, your assistant has been a help," Dooku seemed to regard the republic representative coldly. "Though, I do wonder why your assistant is a child."
"You must have misheard me," Corrand said with a smile. "He's my temporary assistant, not my assistant. My assistant is out celebrating at some bar, Bridger here is just volunteering" Corrand placed the datapad he was holding on his desk. "Now, Jedi, state your business; I don't have all-"
The man's attention suddenly fell on me, as I walked next up behind him. For a moment, I thought his eyes widened, but it might have just been my mind playing tricks on me. "And why is there a child with you?"
Dooku gracefully sat down on a chair in front of the representative's desk, the regal air around him reminded me of saber in a way. "He's the reason I've come to meet with you. His village was burned down by an unknown group in sector 500, and he is the only survivor."
Corrand started to tap his fingers when Dooku mentioned my village being destroyed. "How horrible! But don't worry about him, I'll make sure he is taken care of."
"That is not necessary, I have determined that Shirou is force-sensitive."
"I see, then you'll be taking him to Coruscant?" The man asked.
"Hey! Can we go back a minute?!" Ephraim asked with a voice full of worry. "Shirou, are you alright?"
Before I had the chance to respond, Corrand shouted at Ephraim. "Quiet! You shouldn't speak unless you're spoken to."
Ephraim shut up, but I could tell he was still concerned for me.
He turned and looked me in the eyes. I offered a smile in turn. That's the best move I could think of to convey my feelings. Hopefully, that sooths his worry.
"There is some paperwork I'm going to need you, and the youngling, to sign," Corrand said as he grabbed a separate datapad from the one he was using earlier.
"The paperwork for his recruitment should be handled by the Acquisition Division," Dooku responded.
Acquisition Division? I wonder what that is. I'll ask Dooku about it later.
The man gave a too sweet smile, "This isn't for that. If Shirou is the sole survivor of a massacre of the village in sector 500 then he is the only citizen left of it. As the only citizen left of the sector then, by law, he is now legally in charge of it."
What? Is that true? That seems ridiculous. Then again, Lothal's government was set up in such a way that a sector with a population as small as mine has as much power as a sector with a hundred times our population.
I wonder if the governments on other republic worlds, are this poorly thought out.
"And, if he's going to become a jedi, then he'll need to give up his right to the sector."
Why would becoming a jedi mean I have to sign off my village? And what would happen to the land if I signed it over?
My major concern isn't giving up my rights to the sector, but who I'm giving it too. And what do they plan to so with the land. A common occurrence in my past life was seeing a native people driven from their town or land, just for the invaders to exploit the land. Even if I'm leaving this world, and have no plans to return, I don't want that to happen to my old home.
"That will not be necessary," Dooku said as he got up from the chair, he was sitting in.
"And why's that?" the man asked, while his hands grew tighter on his datapad.
"That information is on a need-to-know basis."
I didn't have any idea about what Dooku was talking about, but I kept my face neutral.
An expression of annoyance appeared on the man's face, "I see, Master Jedi. Then I won't press, you further."
"That would be wise, Representative Corrand."
"Well, it's getting late," Corrand said while a smile slipped back onto his face. "You should stay the night here in the Capital. I can even prepare some, civilized, accommodations for you."
Corrand sent me and Ephraim a glare when he said the word civilized.
"We shall take you up on that offer, representative."
I sighed. There's nothing shady about this at all.
Me and Dooku were sitting in a two-bed hotel room. The beds were more comfortable than anything I've slept on since my rebirth. The room was completely clean, and had a large screen directly connected to the HoloNet, which is only available in the capital.
Apparently, the Republic is trying to expand the HoloNet on Outer Rim worlds, but they're not making much progress.
"Master Dooku, why did Corrand assume my recruitment into the jedi means that I would give up my right to my family's land?" I asked him from my bed.
"Jedi have no need for attachment," he responded as if that answered everything. There was disinterest in his voice.
"You don't believe that?"
"No, I believe Jedi have no need for attachment," Dooku stated coldly from his bed.
I looked at him pityingly. The look in Dooku's eyes as he said that felt familiar. They were the eyes of someone who felt like they were betrayed by the ideal they held sacred.
It wouldn't be a good idea to prod him. Yet.
"If Jedi aren't supposed to have attachments, then why didn't you want me to sign the paperwork?"
"Because of the Jedi Temple in your sector. We would have to be fools to leave it in the hands of a Republic official."
"A republic official?" I repeated in a questioning voice. "I can understand not trusting Corrand, but is there something wrong with republic officials in general?"
Honestly, it would be more surprising if there wasn't something wrong.
Dooku's brow went up several centimeters. "What do you know of politics?"
"I know to never trust a politician," I responded quickly.
That was a lesson taught to me in my own blood.
"Never forget that truth, youngling," Dooku said approvingly. "And know this, one doesn't reach a high position in The Republic without being a politician."
I snickered.
"And what is it that you find so hilarious?"
"With how naturally you talked with Corrand, I might have mistake you for a politician."
"I am a nobleman."
"Ah…," I crossed my arms, before a smirk formed on my face. "So, I shouldn't trust you. I wonder how long until you betray me."
"That's a good mindset to have."
"It's a mindset necessary for anyone who hopes to help those in need. A hero is always alone, and betrayal… its inevitable."
That was a lesson thought to me by Saber. I can still remember the sensation of Excalibur when she almost ran me threw. I would've died if it wasn't for Avalon.
Dooku sent a glance my way. "At least you aren't as naïve as Qui-Gon."
Before I could respond, we heard a knock at the door.
"I'll answer it."
Dooku got up and opened the door to our room.
On the other side of the door was Ephraim. He was sweating and was leaning on the door frame. He must've run here.
"Good, I got the right room this time," Ephraim got off the doorframe. "Representative Corrand sent me with a message."
He took a datapad out of his backpack, an excited look on his face.
"Calm yourself," Dooku said as he took the datapad.
Ephraim looked at me with a warm, sympathetic gaze. "It's good news, Shirou! We've got a lead on the people who destroyed your village!"
"That's not possible," I told him that blankly.
My village was razed by the time I got there, and the attackers left absolutely no information. It should be impossible to identify them, let alone track them.
"It is! One of Representative Corrand's messenger droids caught two hovercars leaving your sector. And Representative Corrand tracked them down to the port."
"Why was his messenger droid in that area? And how does he know those people are responsible for the attack?"
"We can ask him that later," Dooku interjected while looking up from the datapad. "I will go an investigate this, before the suspects have a chance to get off world."
Dooku's hand reached down to his waist, landing on his lightsaber. He started to walk out the room.
"I'm coming too," I said while getting up from my bed.
I have doubts about this, but I can't risk child-killers to go free. If there's a chance these people are responsible for the murder of everyone, then I need to see them brought to justice.
Dooku turned around and looked at me, "You would be nothing but a burdened."
"That's not true," I responded, knowing that it wouldn't do much to convince the Jedi.
There are only two ways I can beat a normal adult. The first would be through assassination, and the other would be by bombing them with a noble phantasm.
Of those two possibilities, only the first one is possible. Firing off noble phantasms would cause far too much collateral damage.
"Do you seek revenge?"
"I have no interest in revenge. All I want to see is justice done."
"Good, revenge is a gateway to the dark side. You may accompany me, but you're to stay behind me, understood."
I nodded.
"Hey, can I come to? Those Jerks hurt innocent people and need to be taught a lesson!"
Me and Dooku looked at each other, before turning in unison to regard my fellow Lothalite.
Me and Dooku were walking through the port, having sent Bridger to report back to Corrand.
I was walking a couple steps behind him.
"Here we are," Dooku said as we reach a certain warehouse.
His hand reach towards his lightsaber. My body tensed, as I felt like someone was targeting us.
Dooku pulled his lightsaber, and blocked a red blaster shot. The bolt was sent back towards the person who shot it.
The old Jedi held his blue lightsaber in one hand, he scowled.
"They know we're here," Dooku mused as he surveyed our surroundings.
"Thank you for stating the obvious. I see that the stories of Jedi wisdom are well earned."
"I take back my earlier complement. You're just as bad as Qui-Gon."
"Are you mocking us, Jedi?" A human male asked as he walked out of a certain warehouse. He had a knife against…
My eyes widened, "Sister!"
Within the man's grasp was my little sister. Her golden-brown eyes looked into my own.
Her black hair looked messy, and she looked exhausted. Her clothing was surprisingly clean.
I glared not at the man holding my sister, but Dooku.
When I found my village destroyed, I didn't have the willpower to check my home. So, Dooku checked it for me, and he told me that he found the bodies of my family members.
My sister being here proves that he lied. He made me believe all my family was dead when they weren't. I should be mad at him, but I'm not.
I'm mad at myself for assuming they were all dead without checking. Who knows what would've happened if we didn't find her here.
But that anger disappeared, replaced with relief. If Miyu weren't in so much danger, I would have smiled.
"Brother," Miyu called at to me. Her voice was as calm as it normally was, but there was a hint of terror in her voice.
My hands balled up into fist before relaxing them. If I make a wrong move, then she'll die.
"Listen closely, Jedi, put down your lightsaber or the girl dies."
I glared at Dooku. If he doesn't put down his lightsaber willing, then I'll force him. Even if I have to kill him.
Dooku deactivated his lightsaber, and then raised one hand. The bastard started suddenly dropped the knife as he was lifted in the air. He started to gaggle for air, choking. The air around Dooku seemed to get slightly colder.
Then with another gesture, Dooku pulled Miyu towards us, while throwing the man back into the warehouse.
I grabbed my sister as she flew into my arms.
Her eyes were wide, but I couldn't feel anything from her.
All the other assailants fired at Dooku at once, and he managed to block all the shots.
I watched his fighting style closely, and I couldn't help but marvel at his skill. The fact that he could block all those shots at once, despite not having a fighting style dedicated to defense, is proof of his skills.
"Impossible!"
"Things such as this are nothing with the power of the Force," Dooku declared at the attackers shocked expression.
"Brother, who is that?" Miyu asked from my arms.
"That's Dooku, he's a jedi."
"Jedi!" Miyu's eyes widened as she looked at the old man. Her shocked expression almost caused me to laugh. Its so rare to see her so expressive.
Dooku reflected blaster shots towards the attackers, killing them. It took him less than ten seconds to kill them all.
He started to walk towards the last attacker, the one who was thrown into the warehouse.
"Wait, stop!" Miyu yelled to Dooku, causing him to stop.
The warehouse exploded. Dooku raised a single hand and held back the explosion.
The flames dissipated quickly, leaving the ruined warehouse and a dead body.
"Are you alright, sister?" I asked her.
"Yes," my sister replied while braking away from my grasp. I frowned in response.
Dooku turned and look at me and Miyu, "Hum, it seems I've not found one force-sensitive, but two."
I ignored that statement as I focused on the knife that had been blown in front of me and Miyu. Its history played in my mind.
'You will be paid well for your work. It's only one defenseless village.'
'Stop! Don't kill the girl. The boss wanted one alive.'
'There is a jedi coming for you, but don't worry, I don't abandon my allies. I've prepared a ship for you, its hidden in warehouse.'
I sighed. Betrayal is inevitable, but I still didn't think it would happen so fast.
Dooku had an annoyed look on his face as he walked towards the knife and picked it up. He examined the knife for a couple seconds before scowling even more. He latched the knife to his belt.
"We should return to the hotel room," Dooku said before looking at Miyu. "But first, can you tell me your name."
Miyu swallowed before looking at me.
"It's ok, Sister," I reassured her with a smile.
Miyu looked up at Dooku, "My name's Miyu."
Me and my sister were sitting on the same bed while Dooku was pulling something out of his bag.
"So, you're really going to take us to become Jedi?" Miyu asked skeptically, while I looked at her worryingly.
Unlike me, Miyu is just a normal kid, albeit a mature one. She must be in shock over the death of our family.
"Yes, but there is one test I need to administer first," he said while taking the thing he pulled from his bag and connecting it to a datapad.
"What kind of test?" I asked him simply.
"I need to run a blood test to determine your blood for midi-chlorians."
"Midi-chlorians what's that?" Miyu asked with a hint of excitement in her voice. A faint smile on appeared on my face. Even after everything that has happened, Miyu still loves to learn.
"They are intelligent microscopic life-forms that live inside all living things. In order to be a jedi, one must have a high midi-chlorian count."
"What's the average count?" Miyu asked again, her endless curiosity incapable of being sated with only one question and answer.
"For those who aren't force-sensitive, 2,500 per cell in humans. Force-sensitivity start to appear around 5,000 midi-chlorians per cell. The average jedi knight has 8,000. Most Jedi masters have around 13,000, with only the most powerful being above that." Dooku looked up from the datapad, "Now give me your finger."
"I'll go first," I said while offering my hand to Dooku. I want to make sure the test is safe before I let Miyu take it.
Dooku pricked my finger and ran the test.
"Incredible, almost 18,000 midi-chlorians per cell," Dooku looked genuinely surprised. "That result is only a thousand below Master Yoda… a score this high has only be record a couple ties in the entire history of the Jedi Order."
"Great… so you're telling me I'm full of parasites," I joked.
If I had to guess why I had such a higher number, then it would be because of my reincarnation. Maybe midi-chlorians are spiritual in nature and followed my see even after rebirth. And my high number is the result of the midi-chlorians of my new life adding to my count from my past life.
"Quiet," Dooku said with a scowl. "You shouldn't do something as blasphemous as calling midi-chlorians parasites unless you want a lecture from a Jedi master. Now, Miyu, give me your finger."
Miyu reached up and gave Dooku her finger. He took a blood sample and ran it.
"Impossible, your count is on par with Master Yoda."
I looked at my sister. I don't know who this Yoda is, but it sounds impressive. Maybe I have such a high midi-chlorian count because I shared a womb with Miyu.
"Wow, I can't believe I have such an impressive little sister," I smirked at her.
Miyu glared at me, pouting. "Shut up, Shirou! I'm not the little sister, and you aren't the little brother. We're simply brother and sister!"
"I was born first, so you're my little sister," I teased her.
"By five minutes."
"No, by a whole day."
"You being born before midnight and I being born after, doesn't mean there's a day difference between us! We're twins!"
Miyu turned and suddenly sobered up when she remembered we weren't alone, "Sorry, Mister Dooku."
Dooku just sighed. "It's ok, youngling. Now, I have some important matters to attend to."
The aging man got up and walked towards the door. "You two stay here."
Neither of us said anything as the Jedi left the room.
I looked at my sister. I have to go deal with Corrand, but my sister comes first.
"Sister," I said seriously. "Are you ok?"
"Of, course."
"Miyu. Our parents are dead, and everyone we've ever know is dead, there's no way you're ok."
"But I am, Shirou," Miyu said before looking a way.
I sighed in response. I love my sister, but she can be so hardheaded.
The cold look in her eyes told me she didn't want to continue this conversation, and nothing would persuade her to.
It's infuriating. I don't want me and Miyu to end up like Rin and Sakura. I don't want Miyu to end up dying because of my failures as a brother. But I won't get anywhere by forcing her to talk.
So, I'll try to help her in a different way.
"Sister, how do you feel about leaving Lothal?"
"I don't care, one way or the other."
"And how do you feel about becoming a Jedi."
Miyu turned and looked at me. "Mom once said that the Jedi have the greatest library in the galaxy, right?"
"Yes…"
"Then I want to become a Jedi."
I rolled my eyes at her. I smiled at her overly simplistic reasoning.
"What about you, Brother."
"Jedi are supposed to be heroes, right? Then I'll become a jedi."
Miyu smiled at my reason for being a Jedi. She then started to yawn.
"Get some rest, Sister," I said gently as I reached behind her head.
"But I'm not tir-," Miyu didn't finish her statement before falling asleep, the simple spell I cast on her putting her right to sleep.
"Sleep tight," I gently laid her down on our bed. "Don't worry, I'll be back soon."
"Trace On," I said my incantation as blue light formed in my hand.
A dagger appeared in my hand.
"Shroud me in the shadows of my ideals, Carnwennan."
I activate the noble phantasm, becoming one with the shadows.
Opening the door quietly, I made my way out of room and towards the capitol.
I quickly made my way to the capitol building; I reinforced my hearing as I reached the outside of Corrand's office.
"You were responsible for the destruction of those child's village, weren't you?" I hear a familiar voice accuse someone.
"I have no idea what you're talking about, Master Jedi," a smug voice, Corrand, responded. "Now, unless you have any real evidence, I must ask you to leave."
"I will not forget this," I could sense Dooku's anger through the door.
My reinforced hearing allowed me to hear Dooku's steps as he made his way to the doorway. I made no effort to hide, as Carnwennan completely hid me in the shadows.
Dooku opened the door, and I used that moment to sneak into the room before the door could close.
For a moment, I felt like Dooku noticed me, but that should be impossible. Then again, I don't know anything about the force.
Corrand was drinking wine in his office, just sitting in his desk. Not even a little guilt on his face for the atrocity he committed.
His plan was obvious and insidious.
He hired those attackers to kill everyone in sector 500, with the exclusion of one person, or more accurately, one child. After the deed was done, he would take that one child in, and use them to take over the sector, for his own personal use.
Once he learned of Dooku, he decided to use the jedi for his own ends. He pretended to 'find' evidence of the attack and help save Miyu. That way he would be a hero and would eliminate any evidence of his crimes by having the Jedi kill his hitmen.
The Ship blowing up was his backup plan to kill his hitman, in the unlikely case they somehow managed to defeat Dooku. In that case, he would use the tragedy of our death to gain support of the locals.
It was a sold plan, if it wasn't for the fact that I have the ability to read weapons allowing me to see his dealings. Plus, I have experience with horrid people like him.
Reinforcing my entire body, I ran Carnwennan through his heart. His eyes widened. His hands reached down towards the dagger's blade.
"What?!" was all he could say before he fell over.
I signed as I pulled the dagger out of his chest.
Even though this man killed people precious to me, I don't hate him. Nor do I desire revenge.
I just feel tired. I want to save people, but I'm always forced to kill.
But I'll continue to kill for eternity, just to save one person.
I turned and made my way back to the hotel.
It would be pointless to waste anymore time in this place.
May the Fourth be with you!
Anyway, I quickly wrote this chapter when I remember what today was. So, sorry if this wasn't a good stopping point.
The next chapter will be split between Miyu and Shirou's point of view, and will focus on their leaving of Lothal, and their travel to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Though, that might change in the same way my plan for Miyu and Shirou changed into this. Trutfully, the plan was always to have Shirou's village be burned by a government official, but I was planning to make it a long term arc where he slowly figures it out and tracks down those responsible. But, I figure this was better.
Somethings of note though-
This is OUS Miyu reincarnated with a Non-OUS Shirou, meaning he never had her as a sister. Neither one of them know the other one is a reincarnate. Miyu's view on her brother will be explored next chapter- but to keep it short- it's complicated.
In terms of appearance, both Miyu and Shirou retain their hair and eye colors. But they both have the copper skin common to Lothalites. Physically, Shirou doesn't look exactly like his past life, but looks close enough to cause Miyu to feel uncomfortable, since he resembles her big brother so much. (Hence her issue with Shirou calling himself her big brother.)
Thirdly- Miyu and Shirou's midi-chlorian counts, I want to make Miyu's high because she's Miyu, and decided to make Shirou's high because I need to be high for a future plot development reasons involving Darth Plagueis taking an interest in Shirou. (Since I'm going to have Shirou combine jedi healing techniques with UBW's healing to highly boost it to Avalon levels, and Plagueis (Star war's closes equivalent to a magus) is going to get a front row set to seeing Shirou heal from being cut in half and killed.) But, it's not like either of them are going to take Anakin's place as the chosen one or something, no they'll just be strong force users.
Fourthly- This is something important to say, but Shirou's not going to be some guy who's able to use every single force power easily or something, if at all. He going to be like his real canon self and be the best at a small number of things, but terrible-to-average at everything else. And all the things he'll be good at will be natural extensions/boost of things he's already got. Like UBW's healing, reading the history of weapons being boosted into advanced Psychometry, etc.
I want to say that a large part of this story will just be Shirou in the Star Wars universe adapting to it and being a hero. Spending time building up his relationships with other characters, and the jedi order. So, there will be a lot of arcs that I just make up. And it might take a while to get to canon.
Lothal's government might seem really unbelieve, but that's the point. Basically, the government was built on optimism, not ever thinking about someone being killing everyone in a sector to take control of it. And, was formed on the idea that all the sectors would eventually grow to be the same size, so give them all equal power. Anyway, I might go back and change this part, because I found a document going over Lothal's government, under the republic, after I wrote that, and I need to see how canon the document is (it looked really official so I'm going to say its canon. The same way the star wars name generator, I used to name the representative, looked good, so I used it.)
Next up, I've decided for Miyu's youngling clan to be the one focused on knowledge and insight. While Shirou's will be the Kataran clan (the stealth one.) Also, I've decided that Miyu's master will be Jocasta Nu, while Shirou's will be Dooku. Dooku will take him in as his padawan when he is nine. I've been considering possible padawan for Shirou, and I'm stuck between the seventh sister (I'm not sure how old she is) and Nuru Kungurama.
Also, Miyu's lightsaber is going to be green. But I was considering having Shirou's first lightsaber be black, and basically be lightsaber Bakuya, with a cool black handle with a red hexagon design. While he makes a white lightsaber from a red crystal he either gets after defeating Dooku or (if she becomes his apprentice) the seventh sister. Or possible Asajj Ventress. (assuming I pair them in this fic.) What do y'all thing?
Lastly, Shirou and Miyu will be the only fate characters to appear in this fic (outside of force visions). And I will not be merging the two's power systems. But, Shirou and Miyu will try to view the force through the lense of magus first.
(PS, I missed responding to some reviews, I'll try to respond to them when I get the chance. Sorry about that.)
Have a wonderful day!
