Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Gods of the Galaxy. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own OCH, Light and a few others do.
Many people assumed Calder could sense them…. That was half true. He could sense the water that made up part of their bodies, not them physically…
However? He did find overwhelming amusement in making people believe he could. Gods weren't easy to track since their bodies weren't simply flesh and blood, meaning far too many people could sneak up on him.
He did, however, see a god… Or at least? He believed he did, deities tended to dress far more extravagantly then mortals.
"By the oceans, I don't want to live back up on the mountain…" Calder said aloud to himself. "It's going to make me go insane… If I'm not crazy already at the moment." Calder added while starting to manipulate water.
Was Calder trying to draw attention to himself? Yes, actually. He knew no god would resist another of its kind. They were attention seekers, and one who was constantly drawing attention to himself?
Well? In Calder's mind? They were either a deity, or an arrogant airhead with no real self-esteem.
"Do you enjoy making such a spectacle of yourself?" Calder heard as he dropped the water surrounding himself.
"Only if it gets the attention, I want it to at the moment." Calder said while looking up at the clouds. "You stay up on the mountain as long as I do? You begin to want more company, anything to take your mind off the madness… Then again? I'm not crazy, just bored." Calder added as he turned to look at the person who had come.
The woman had sunken eyes framed with amethyst hair, it told him far more then enough that she wasn't a human. Humans also didn't have glowing red eyes.
"You're a god." The girl said as Calder hummed.
"So, are you, what of it?" Calder asked while blinking and sitting down on the ledge. "Maybe I just like the attention, it keeps me sane." Calder said and let out a hum of interest.
The unknown deity looked like a ghost, that would bother him if he wasn't strong enough to deal with such a thing… Or if he knew it wasn't simply another defining characteristic that made them look far more interesting.
"Y-You, want to F-Fight?" The deity asked as Calder hummed.
"Do I get to learn your name if we fight?" Calder asked and got a nod from her. "Then we fight." Calder said as he slowly stood up to look at the warrior.
She drew a sword while pushing Calder back. He flew back for a while then stopped himself. The water from a pond swelled up and under him.
"You know… Pushing away someone who can control water?" Calder asked before looking at the water under him. "Isn't a very smart idea… Then again, I don't know much about your powers." Calder said and directed the water at the deity.
The amethyst-colored deity held up her sword, slicing the water wave in half which crashed into the wall behind them.
It made him hum with interest as he slowly started to float down towards her.
"Well, this is going to be interesting." Calder said as he started to summon more water for another attack.
The deity darted at him while he allowed himself to fall back into the water below him. The girl slammed into the wall as Calder looked at her from under the waves.
He could only find interest in how this conflict had gone. He hadn't battled another warrior… No, another deity, before now. This would be rather enjoyable, at least for a prospect he hadn't really put much stock into… Mainly because he didn't possess the ability to spar with someone before now… And the interest? It interested him more and more.
Calder directed a wave of water at the woman who was quite busy trying to avoid the attack. She leapt backwards, trying to lunge at him.
Calder brought up a wave of water, blocking the blade from cutting his body. He made sure to push himself back, preventing the blade from lodging into his skin at the moment.
Calder raised an eyebrow with interest. She was going to continue using swords to battle him? That was a unique tactic seeing as how he had the distance in the battle… But then again? She was probably a better fighter then him to begin with.
Calder brought the water under him and flung himself to another part of the courtyard while humming and nodding more to himself then her.
The deity hummed and then looked around at the moment. Calder could only ponder to himself how this battle might go. Calder was quite interested in the outcome, win or lose? It would be bound to change something.
Perhaps win or lose? He'd make a friend; he'd rather take that then a victory if it was on the table.
Maybe he'd get lucky.
