He can't see. She's fairly certain he can't see. She turns to Fin and gives him a look of "What the fuck?"

"David. Hi." She says walking around to him.

"Hi Olivia, I wish I could say that it's a pleasure to see you again, but well I can't see you." He says and he sounds sad.

"How long have you been like this?" Olivia asks.

"I got punched a few weeks ago. Knocked clean out with a broken bottle. When I hit the floor everything went black. When I woke up I couldn't see. I was only supposed to be in Manhattan for a few weeks. Apart from my sight I'm okay. A little shaky sometimes but I'm okay."

"Wow, David. I'm so sorry." Olivia says.

"Where are you Olivia?" He asks and she rests her hand on the closest one of his to her.

"Sat beside you to your right." She says and she watches as he smiles. "Do they think this is permanent?" She asks and he just shakes his head.

"I need to ask you a favour. I can't go back home until I get my sight back or at least an idea on when it's going to be back. I don't like flying at the best of times never mind when I can't see. I can't drive. Look Olivia what I'm trying to say is-" he stops talking and Olivia gets her phone from her bag.

"Just give me a second." She slides her hand away from his and calls fin.

"Liv hey what's up?" Fin asks.

"Look something has come up and I'm gonna need to leave now. Can you keep an eye on the office and if Dodds tries to call my office tell him to get me on my personal?"

"Sure Liv."

"Alright. Thanks." Olivia puts the phone down and puts her hand back on David's. "Come on then. We are going to mine."

She watches David stand up and put his hand infront of him. "I can see a bit. Not much though." He says. "I guess you are hoping this won't last long. Considering the last time we saw each other..." he trails off and Olivia puts a hand on his arm and smiles to herself.

He remembers then, she thinks.

"I just want you to get better. There's no bad feelings about what happened." She doesn't want to get into this conversation now, especially at work. But she doesn't want to get into it anyway, she is taken now. She has more responsibilities now than she did back then. She is captain. She is in a decent relationship, her best since David arguably. Things are going well.

The two manage to get to the lift with a bit of help from Fin holding the doors so they can get through. Olivia keeps her arm on David's shoulder in the lift before leading him to the car. She helps him with his seatbelt and she gets into the car. "I forgot you drove, Liv, you were always getting taxis back then." David says before chuckling.

"Shut it, Haden, or you won't just have to worry about your sight." David puts his head down and she realises that it was a bad joke. "I'm sorry." She says, putting a quick hand to his shoulder. "I want to help you... let me, please."

"You didn't hurt me, Liv. I just am in a bit of pain." He confesses. "I need to take my pain meds but I'll do it when I get back to yours."

"I've got some water here if you want to do it now, I can help you you know Manhattan roads are bumpy." She says.

"They are in my blazer. Will you be able to get them? Zipped pocket in I think the doctor said a blue packet... I need 2 of them." She opens his blazer and he gets a smell of her perfume and smiles.

"What is it?" She asks and David shakes his head.

"Nothing."

"Tell me."

"This must look odd to anyone watching, me and you in a NYPD carpark you leant over me like this." Olivia laughs as she manages to get the cap open for the pills and hands 2 to him. She unscrews the cap of the bottle and he drinks from it. "Thank you."

"Come on. Let's get you home so you can rest." Olivia says with a smile.
