Chapter 2
The boys got into the limo before anyone could spot them. Zhongli took a moment before slapping the back of Childe's head, "Idiot why did you go off on your own?" Zhongli asked him with his arms crossed. "Ow." Childe said, rubbing the back of his head "And I saw a kitten and wanted to pet it" He whined. Diluc just sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, shaking his head. Kaeya just looked out the window wondering why the pink haired woman wouldn't pay attention to him. Zhongli just shook his head, "What are we gonna do with you, Childe?" He asked. "We could always put him on the leash again." Diluc said, looking at Kaeya, before slapping the back of the blue haired man's head. "Oi what was that for?" Kaeya grumbled out. "What's on your mind dude?" Diluc asked his brother with furrowed eyebrows. "Huh? Oh uh nothing." He said, looking back out the window. Diluc just shook his head, tuning out the wines of Childe complaining about not being able to see the black and red haired girl more. Soon the limo pulled into their mansion driveway. They all slowly got out of the limo and took their time walking inside. "I'm heading to my room." Kaeya said, walking off as soon as they entered their front door. Diluc's eyes followed his brother for a moment, but turned towards the rest of the group, "Alright, a plan for the flower shop to get its flowers, any ideas?" He asked as Childe collapsed onto a large couch, "We just have to send them roses, nothing more, maybe we should send our numbers too." He joked as Diluc kicked him in the shin, "Zhongli?" he asked the other most mature one of the group, "Any ideas on this?" Diluc asked, as Zhongli thought for a moment, "What about giving them two tickets to our Valentine's day concert?" He said in a questioning tone, Diluc nodded, "I like this idea more than Childe's phone number idea." He said as Childe let out a noise of offense. Diluc looked at the orange haired man, "Look, we get it, you're a little obsessed over the Black hair woman, but you have to see it from the band's point of view, we can't afford another messy tabloid about us, a lot of our fans have dropped off due to Kaeya announcing that he is no longer looking for a...romantic interest." He explained to Childe, who sighed, "Yes but I'm not that playboy, I'm the childish lovable Childe, who can do no wrong." He pouted at the phrase he said on the daily, Diluc blinked and looked to Zhongli, who was texting a paragraph on his phone, most likely to their manager. "Look it's just better to stay away from the flower shop and The Hala's in general. They don't seem to like the unwanted attention." He said as Childe paused, "You're right, it doesn't seem they liked it when the huge crowd of girls followed me into the shop." He said as he recalled the hoard of rabid fangirls.
Diluc nodded, "Right, so it's best we stay away from them in general, after the flowers get delivered, we no longer have contact." He said crossing his arms as Childe stood up, "I'm heading to my music room, I need to clear my head a little." He said as Diluc nodded, "Of course." He said as Childe walked past him, the urge to hit the other was strong inside Diluc, but he voted against the acts that could lead to Childe fighting back.
When Childe entered the music room, he snatched up his guitar. Plopping down on the bench with one leg propped up a little and he started to strum a small tune he had been working on for the next album. He started humming softly trying to figure out how the tune would go into the song. He bit his lip as he took a minute to remember the lyrics he had written previously, as he recalled the words, a new set of them followed shortly after,
"You told me you love me. Why did you leave me all alone. Now you tell me you need me. When you call me on the phone. Girl, I refuse. You must have me confused with some other guy. The bridges were burned. Now it's your turn, to cry"
He sang softly before stopping to write it down. After he wrote the lyrics down he sat his guitar down and just leaned back against the wall his head tilted back and his eyes closed. Bright blue eyes flashed in his mind. He sat up frowning slightly "why can't I get you out of my mind" he whispered to himself. He sighed lightly as he picked up the guitar again strumming it once more.
"Cry me a river. Cry me a river. Cry me a river. Cry me a river."
He sang softly to himself, he didn't hear the door open as he continued to play the guitar and sing.
"You know that they say that somethings are better left unsaid. It wasn't like you only talked to him. And you know it. (Don't act like you don't know it). All of these things people told me. Keep messing with my head. Should've picked honesty. Then you may not have blown it"
After he was finished singing someone cleared their throat, gaining Childe's attention. "I see the song is coming together." Zhongli said, as Childe put the guitar away. "Hehe yeah I guess it is." Childe said softly rubbing the back of his neck. "What's wrong?" Zhongli asked, crossing his arms over his chest. "Uh yeah it's just I can't get that woman out of my head and I just got out of a relationship with Fruitia, ya know?" Childe said, sitting down heavily on the bench, his eyes looking at the far wall, "It's...different, both the Hala's I guess? Mostly the bossy black haired one." He looked at Zhongli, who rose an eyebrow, "Mrs. Hala? She seems to be...a bright spark of joy in a sense. Perhaps you should go and hand deliver the flowers that are owed, and give her your number." He said casually, adjusting his long sleeve shirt so that the sleeves were rolled up, he smiled at Childe, "Maybe she's a calling for you?"
Childe paused, "Maybe...thanks PeePaw." He said as he darted from the room. Zhongli pinched the bridge of his nose, "I wish he would stop calling me that." He commented to the empty room as he flicked his long hair over his shoulder, walking from the room to check on the rest of his band mates. Kaeya had been acting weird since they had gotten back, and he was determined to find out why the playboy of the group was sulking.
Going down the hall quite a bit aways from Childe's rooms, Zhongli stopped and knocked on the door before carefully before opening the door. He saw Kaeya laying down on his bed with his arm covering his eyes. Zhongli slipped into the room before shutting the door behind him, Kayea lifted up his head when he heard the door closed before laying back down frowning. Zhongli sat on the desk chair facing the man on the bed. "Speak." was all Zhongli said. Kaeya sat up, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "About what?" He asked the other man. Zhongli sighed pinching the bridge of his nose "Don't play dumb, you've been acting weird since we left the Hala flower shop" Zhongli said crossing his arms and looking at Kaeya with a blank face. Kayea sighed "It's just the pink haired one wouldn't give me the time of day… it's like she wasn't interested in me at all, I haven't met a single woman that wasn't interested in me and it's frustrating." Kayea said, raking his hand through his hair. Zhongli thought for a moment, "She could be gay?" He said casually, as Kaeya flushed, "Huh?!" He looked at Zhongli with worried eyes, "Do you think she is?" As Zhongli blinked and shrugged, "I've never met a woman that wasn't interested in you Kaeya, so it's a two way street in a sense." He replied as Kaeya sighed, "I guess it makes sense…" he muttered, "Still…" he looked determined as he sat up, grabbing his jacket and keys, "I'll be back." He said as he darted from his room, as Zhongli groaned softly, "Another one bites the dust I suppose." He commented as Diluc walked by, "Where is Kaeya going?" He asked Zhongli, who stepped out of the room, "I'm assuming to go stalk Those Hala girls." He crossed his arms, as Diluc blinked, "His funeral." He said as he continued to walk down the hall. Zhongli chuckled lightly, he couldn't agree more, especially with those rabid fangirls out and about.
