Episode 2: Tatsumi in the Mushroom City

Chapter Synopsis: Tatsumi thought he was dead. But what exactly happened to him? And also, why did he ended up in the Mushroom Kingdom?

Tatsumi just woke up due to the reflection of the sun. His vison slowly starts to become better as he soon realises that he was facing the sky, which resulted in him blocking the sun's ray on his eyes with his left arm and let out a moan. He also smell trash, which immediately prompted him to immediately stand up.

As he stood up, he could see that the he was in an alleyway for some odd reason. Last time he remembered, he was in the Basement of Night Raid's base with Dr. Stylish…..

"Wait, where am I?" Tatsumi suddenly asked himself upon thinking about that. He began checking of he still has his Imperial Arm, Incursio, on his back. As he was grabbing where his weapon was on his back, the boy suddenly realises that he was grabbing nothing more than the air.

"What?" Tatsumi said in a dumbfounded expression as he grabbing where Incursio was. Or rather, where Incursio was supposed to be. It suddenly dawned on him that his weapon was now missing. Another realisation soon hit him as he turns his attention to the left and sees the same device that zapped him, except it was heavily damaged as there were chunks missing.

Tatsumi then picked up said object and look to see that the same package that he picked up for the Mad Scientist in the Revolutionary Army's HQ was still intact and hasn't sustained any damage to it. That was a good thing for him and suggest that he could still go home…

If he were able to find where Incursio went and someone, perhaps a Scientist, to fix the machine.

But right now, he still has no idea where he is. Then perhaps, the first step is to find out where he is, then he has to blend in until he finds a way back home.

Putting the device safely in his pocket, the brown haired boy began walking towards the exit. As he reached the end, he couldn't believe what he was seeing.

There were high tall buildings which reminded him of couple of city based locations in Death Battle, different kinds of technology that were more advanced than the TV and the Mad Scientist's invention back in base, and there were people with happy expressions on their face passing by, which was… odd. He'd clearly remembered that there weren't many people with those kinds of expressions back in the Capital. He knew immediately know where he was and it was not in the Capital.

This however, made him fail to sense someone behind him as it bumped into his back and fell on the floor. Tatsumi felt that and turned around to see a girl, who had blue hair with a fringe that was covering her right eye and her left eye seems to be purple, which is similar to Sheele's. The girl was wearing a blue and white hoodie, had brown Khaki pants, black fingerless gloves, white and blue socks and with it… she was wearing brown flip flops. Flip flops with socks, now he can imagine a certain pink hair girl's reaction when she seeing that. What was eye catching for him is that she had a metal left arm, which seems to be much more advanced than Najenda's.

"Ouch…." He heard the girl speaking and she looked up to him, who seemed to be menacing to her. She immediately got back up before backing away from him. "I'm sorry." She said shyly. Before Tatsumi could even utter a single word, she ran away.

Already, he had a thought about that girl who he had a short encounter with. "That was strange. I swear she looks like a combination between Sheele and Najenda." While he was thinking about that, he heard his stomach rumbling loudly. "Oh great, now I am starving." The boy was quite mad that he didn't get to eat dinner before this incident happened. He had no money to buy for food and he had little knowledge about the place he was in.

He knew he had to get some information about this place before he can make a move. "Right, time to gather some information."

In the other part of a city called the Mushroom City, a tall girl with pink hair that was tied up in twin ponytails with ribbons was walking down the pedestrian's path along with six other people. They were in the city since there was a certain gamer girl who ran away and all of them were calling her name. "Tari!" She called out to her best friend in a gibberish Japanese.

"Tari! Where are you?" the second person, who had a moustache and was wearing a dark blue and white plumber outfit with a cap.

"Come out whereever you are, Tari." An axolotl with a scar on his left eye called out.

"At this rate, I think we would never find Tari, Saiko." A talking small sea-like creature said to the tall girl.

Saiko stopped in her tracks and leered at him for saying that. "We are going to find her. And this wouldn't have happened if the idiot….." She looked at a certain person who was Mario, "didn't destroy all of her teeth back in the dentist."

Well that was true, it had been a few days since that incident with the dentist along with Chris and Swagmaster and now she decided to run off to the city. The psycho let out a stressful sigh. "Fine, but I know she would get attracted to this." She pulled out a rubber duck from her breast-pocket and began squeezing it, hoping to get the gamer girl's attention.

She squeezed the toy for a few times until it became apparent that the other girl wasn't coming here. Mario's brother, Luigi, had a concern look on his face. "I don't know guys, this time of day is busy in the city. And I'll doubt we'll find her."

The other person, who was a game like hooded figure standing over her bed with large green pixels eyes and two blade coming out of its arms, Bob suddenly spoke. "I hIgHlY aGrEe WiTh LuIgI. BuT I aM sIcK oF LoOkInG fOr HeR At-"

But before he could even finish his line, Saiko then kicks him, which he was sent flying towards a faraway building. "AhHh, My OvArIeS!"

The Axolotl just sighed, knowing how serious this was. "Well then, if we're going to search for her then we're going to split up in groups and could meet back up in that café." He pointed to the Café, which was called the Doze café.

Mario didn't like this idea. "Are you—" He didn't get to finish as the psychopathic girl just leered at him for just being lazy and also being the one who made this mess. "Oookey dookie then."

SMG4 would have to agree with the Axolotl, Axol's idea. "Well, if that's the case then maybe Maio can go with me, Saiko, and Luigi, Bob can be with Boopkins, and you can go with….. Melony."

Bob could already think about the last part and looked at him. "I hOpE yOu'Re NoT SiMpInG wHiLe We'Re LoOkInG fOr HeR."

Axol just sighed as the two groups began parting ways to begin looking for the missing girl. "Well then, it's just you and me, Melony." He turns around to looked at the green haired girl who was wearing a black and red watermelon-themed hoodie dress with a green zig zag line in the middle and a watermelon insignia on the bottom right sleeping on the pedestrian street.

This is going to take a while to find the missing girl.

Two hours. Two hours of looking for any food and there was no luck for the lost assassin. He was facing down on the table in a café called the Doze Café while lightly banging his head on the table. At this rate, all he could think about was to eat something so that he wouldn't starve in the city. But that doesn't mean that all was bad.

Before he ended up in the cafeteria, Tatsumi asked multiple people what this city is. Turns out, it was called the Mushroom City which was part of the Mushroom Kingdom. Now that rang a bell in Tatsumi's mind. Mushroom Kingdom. That is what Mario from death battle originates. If that means that he is in Super Mario's world, then that would mean that he needs to seek the heroic plumber out and he could possibly help him get back to his world.

But there was a slight problem. If this was the mushroom Kingdom, then why are there many different species that are roaming around. Tatsumi already knew that there would be talking mushroom people, humans, and animals, but some seemed to be in 3D and even some are pixilated. He also saw that some seems to act like idiots for some odd reason and also some are heard to make some weird sounds as they were talking.

There was a lot to think about, and Tatsumi couldn't think of anything other than to eat. "Um, excuse me…" Tatsumi silently gasped as the voice seemed to be the one that matched the girl that bumped into him earlier. He lifted his head up and looks to see that he was right. It was the same girl from before, only this time she was holding….. a rubber duck for some odd reason.

Tatsumi just tiredly blinked at her. "Oh….. it's you."

The blue haired girl saw how the boy she met earlier reacted. "Uh, are you okay?"

Thank God, someone was about to ask some appropriate question to him. He soon straightened himself towards her. "I'm just hungry and I have no money to buy anything to eat."

Now the girl was sad that the boy didn't have anything to eat when she first met him. She knew that he was a stranger, but she didn't want to make him starve. It was this answer that made the blue hair reach down to the pocket of her pants and pulled out a small sack of gold.

Tatsumi blinked at what the girl was doing. "What is it for?"

"It's for the food. I don't like people who are starving in this place," She simply answered as she was too kind to say that to the person who was unknowingly an assassin, "I was going to waste most of my money in the arcade, but I would give some to you since you don't have no money."

Well, that was generous of her to do. Even though she's going to spend whatever an arcade is. Without even thinking of a second, Tatsumi immediately got the money off from the girl and went straight to the cafeteria. It took ten minutes for Tatsumi to come back where he was originally sitting where the girl was waiting patiently and was playing with a rubber duck that she had on. What he bought was a large beef bowl. It sure reminded him when Akame made THAT 'breakfast' one time when he was still new to Night Raid.

As he sat back down, he immediately started digging down on his food while the girl was watching. Already, she was laughing nervously. "I never knew you're that hungry."

Tatsumi stopped when he heard that girl say that. That was true, he always eats like this whenever he doesn't eat for a while. "Well, what would you expect from wondering the city around for a bit." He said while lying.

The girl obviously knew that was just a blatant lie. But she didn't know who this person was. "Hm. Alright. So you're new to this city right? What's your name?"

Well, the lost assassin could answer those question. "Since you asked kindly, I'll tell you. My name's Tatsumi and I am new to this city."

Tatsumi? That sounds like a perfect name for him since the blue haired girl can clearly see a draconic slit on his right eye. "Nice to meet you Tatsumi, I'm Tari."

Tari. That's a name that Tatsumi doesn't recognise as one of the characters from Mario. This needs some explanation soon. "Tari, that name does suit you since you have that metallic left arm."

Tari just laughed at his compliment. "Hehe, well. I did have this for a very long time."

Well, that was one fact that Tatsumi knows about this blue haired girl, who was called Tari. But there was something else he wants to know about. "And what are you doing with that rubber duck in your hand?"

Saiko, SMG4, and Mario met Luigi, Bob, Boopkins, Axol and Melony near the Doze café after their search of Tari. All of them had the look of tiredness. SMG4 was the first one to speak. "Did you guys found Tari, yet?"

Axol just shook his head. "No, me and Melony haven't."

Boopkins could say the same. "And that also applies that to us as well."

Saiko just let out a stressful sigh before she slammed her fist on a lamp pole. "Damnit! Where could she have possibly been gone?"

While the tall girl was talking to Axol, Boopkins and SMG4, Luigi then turns around and couldn't believe what he was seeing. "Guys….." He called out, the sound of Pewdipie's voice could be heard.

Luigi's voice stopped what everyone was doing and turned to look at Luigi. "What is it, Luigi?" Axol asked the idiot's brother.

He wasn't the only one who saw this. Melony then followed suite and looked at where Luigi's eyes were and couldn't believe who she was seeing. She tapped her best friend's shoulder and pointed where Luigi was looking at.

Axol then looked at the window of the Doze café, followed by everyone else and they also cannot believe who they were seeing.

It was Tari, who was sitting on a table near the window was having a chat with a boy with medium brown hair and had two different eye colours. It seems like she was getting too much on her retarded side, which kinda made the other boy a bit freaked out.

Bob was about to ask the question that was on everyone's, except Axol and Boopkin's, mind. "WhO iS ShE TaLkI-"

"IT'S TATSUMI!" Axol and Boopkins both shouted, making everyone jump and immediately turn towards them.

"Tatsumi?" SMG4 and Saiko said as they never heard of that name before.

"YeAh, WhO tHe HeLl Is TaTsUmI?" Bob asked when he saw his best friend's saying that name.

"What?!" The manga artist said, dumbfounded that he doesn't know who Tari is talking to. "You don't know who Tatsumi is?"

Boopkins decide to explain who his Senpai was talking about. "Tatsumi is the main protagonist of Akame Ga Kill! One of the most popular Dark Fantasy manga of all time." He secretly had to go to therapy since the manga traumatized him too much.

"Akame Ga Kill was created by Takahiro, who I have met and collab with before I met up with you guys." Axol added his evidence before he pulled out something from his pocket. Everyone began to look at what Axol pulled out and saw that it was a manga cover of the first edition of an Akame Ga Kill crossover Manga with Nova Explorers.

"What?! Do did a collab with Takahiro?!" Boopkins said as he was jealous that his Senpai did a collaboration with.

"I sure did." Axol answered. "But to see one of Takahiro's character in here… he must be brought to real life."

Saiko couldn't believe what the anime/manga artist was saying. "Huh?!"

Boopkins then suddenly realises something. "Wait, if Tatsumi was brought here, then which part was it in?" He hoped that it couldn't be from that arc which traumatized him for days.

"Hmmmmmmm, I don't know exactly which point but, maybe we'll know when we have a closer look at his right eye." Axol suggested to them. If his statement was right, then that would mean that it is going to go down south.

Their search did end up wasting a lot of time, but at least they now know where the blue haired girl was. The others decided to stay where they are while Saiko, Axol and Boopkins decided to get their missing friend.

Back at the café, Tatsumi and Tari were having a good time having a talk with each other. Tari was talking about how she was too interested in rubber ducks while the boy was just a bit freaked out by this. This made him a bit uncomfortable and wished that Susanoo were here to deal with her. "Just where are her friends?"

Just then, he suddenly heard the sound of a rubber duck squeaking. This confused him, but Tari's reaction was a loud gasp. Her gasp…. Seemed unnatural to the lost assassin since it sounded like it was a male. But before he could even think of where that sound was coming from, Tari then jumped out from her seat and then went to where the squeaking sound was. He turns around and looks to see a tall pink haired woman holding another rubber duck and also… an anthropomorphic Axolotl and small green fish-like person? They didn't strike him as Mario characters.

"There you are Tari!" Saiko said as she was holding the rubber duck up in the air while the blue haired girl was jumping up to grab it.

The axolotl just chuckled and waved at him. "Thank you for looking after her, Tatsumi." And that statement made the lost assassin's facial expression change.

There was a bit of silence before his expression turned to anger and confusion. "Wait….. how the hell do you know my name?!"

That reaction manage to scare Tari as she immediately went behind Saiko's back and began shaking in fear. The other girl just sighed. "I knew this would end up like this."

Tatsumi continued to leer at the Axolotl until the green thing jumped right in front of it. "Wait, wait, Tatsumi."

Unfortunately, that made Tatsumi even angrier and confused at how this thing knows his name. "How do you even know my name as well?!"

Boopkins then had to thought of a perfectly good reason. "Well, if you want to know why, I suggest you come with us."

"Eh?!" Saiko and Axol said as they were looking at their green friend while Tari had her eyes sparkled at what he just said. "Uh, are you are? We barely know about him." Saiko asked sarcastically.

"Look Saiko, if we know Tatsumi, then we'll have to take him to Peach's castle." Boopkins explained to them.

Saiko. Now that the lost assassin thought about it, it does rhyme with the word psycho. Now he thought about what the green thing said, Tatsumi could gather more information of the Mushroom Kingdom.

"Can he come with us Saiko?" Tari asked as she had puppy eyes looking innocently at her.

The other girl let out a silent sigh for how many times today as she knew that her friend would beg her all day just to allow her new friend to tag along. "Fine, he could come with us."

"Yeah!" She cheered before she and the others turned around and began walking away from him and Saiko.

"You…" The tall girl spoke as she was pointing at the lost assassin, which caught his attention. "Come with us. I want to know who you are."

Well, she doesn't seem to be a psychopath, but she seemed quite aggressive when she did that. But still, Tatsumi just shrugged his shoulders. "Sure thing."

As Tatsumi was walking with the tall girl that was joining up with her group of friends, two pixilated soldiers were watching afar from the Doze Café. The first one with a long scar spoke. "See, I told you he would be awake soon, Swag."

"What?" the second person who was called Swag asked.

"I mean you shouldn't have gotten that sword when he was knocked out earlier." The first person reminded him.

"Shut up Chris!" Swagmaster said to his friend before he pulls out Tatsumi's sword, Incursio out of the thin air. "He has this sweet ass sword. And I already called ownership to it."

"*Sigh*." Chris spoke out. "C'mon. We better give that sword back to him."

Swagmaster was then dumbfounded that his friend would say that. "I am not going to give my sword to him."

"That wasn't your sword in the first place." Chris reminded him.

And yet again, Swagmaster then said to his friend/co-worker, "Shut up Chris! And besides." He puts Incursio back into his pocket before he pulls out his hammer. "I am going to eliminate some anime scrubs!"

"You serious need help dude." Chris said to his friend and could already feel like that it wouldn't end up good when they are going to give back his sword which will be in Peach's castle of all places.
