Like promised, I'll leave the second chapter here for you readers and writers to feel free to pass by. I'm actually impressed I got to have over 174 views, 8 followers and 2 favorites on the second day I posted my 1st chapter. It makes me happy people here actually enjoyed my writing.
I forgot to mention this, but I do NOT own YuGiOh GX, neither these characters, and in future chapters I intend to reveal the promised characters made by GhostKaiser23 ('Jaden's Harem-Return of the Supreme King' story, you can read if you want). I only want to spread over my imagination and open my wings in terms of writing.

Ragnerok: This full story will be all around the life stories of the main characters: Jaden and Syrus. I know it sounds cringe that 'just because he got a kiss from DMG', that he would get a romantic relationship with her. If that's the case, then I'm sorry to say this... this story is not fit for your tastes. GhostKaiser23-sensei wasn't the first author that I've read to get this idea in the first place. I also read a quite similar story from Dark Magician Girl 1990 ('Duel Monster Spirit Day Continuation'). Also Thunder Nyan Nyan, like you said, got revealed to be his card crush way too late; his card crush for Dark Magician Girl was way sooner, when he was a kid (proof that Zane said in Jaden vs Blair episode). So once again I repeat in my biography: Don't like it, don't read it. I'm again asking to seriously help me here.

Chapter 2 - Yugi's Successor
'IT'S TIME TO DU-DU-DU-DUDUDUDUDUDUDUDU...'
An arm smashed the alarm to turn it off, its host waking up from his naptime with a satisfied yawn, and lifting of the bed sheets to get himself prepared. Long light brown hair that met down to the base of his neck, from behind his hair nibs was spiky going straight up. From both his face sides the hair was making hard for anyone else to see his ears.
He opened his serious brown eyes and took a look at his bedroom clock: '07:00 AM'. He still had time to get himself ready, smiling while he was dressing himself with a blue sweater and pants uniform. His name was Jaden, a good looking 16-year-old guy with an optimistic, enthusiast and confident features; he had the power of looking at Duel Monster Spirits like they were real, treating them like his friends... well, for one of them, the relationship was more deeper, since he knew her ever since he was at age of 6, making 10 years official since they met.
"Good morning, my Jaden...", smiled the mentioned monster spirit, hovering next to Jaden. She was a demonic gentle looking creature, with sickly-pink skin, large black wings, heterochromatic orange and cyan eyes, right to left respectively; a third red eye vertically placed on top of her head, reminding an eye of a demonic dragon. While one of her legs looked covered, the other was exposed like a draconic claw; the arms looked covered over her elbows, revealing the rest of the arms with the same exposure like her exposed leg. She was in a black suit covering her chest area and her lower abdomen.
"Good morning, dear Yubel. I hope my sleep didn't bother you, neither everyone else...", he said in a gentle smile, before he receives a kiss on his cheek from the spirit.
"Not at all, I can tell you've been controlling your snoring during your sleep, I wouldn't mind it anyways...", she admitted shrugging, Jaden finishing wearing his uniform, "... and wow, looking HANDSOME as always.", she finished with a little blush showing on her skin.
"Let us just get out of here, I need to do the Exam to satisfy my Dueling Hunger...", he smirked leaving his bedroom. He was now going down the stairs, when in the living room he saw a well-known adult preparing himself to leave home as well.
"Hey Dad, you don't mind sharing a ride to Domino Stadium, would ya?", Jaden asked with Yubel right behind him.
"Sure thing, also Good Morning! It's not every day I see you like this. I guess this exam is making you excited.", the called 'Dad' said, grabbing his car keys and opening the door so they could leave home.
*Outside home*
Jaden was in the car with his dad, while he took a look at his watch and saw it was already '07:25 AM'. Yep, he still had time to do his dueling, the Duel Exams would end in 35 minutes.
"Deck ready?", asked his dad. "Yep", Jaden answered. "Duel Disk?", "Yep, with me already" Jaden confirmed, showing his personal Duel Disk in his arm.
His dad smiled, "I see I've trained you well for your dream to come true, all I say is 'Good Luck!'", which made Jaden let a little laugh for his comment.
"If anything, I'll just have to 'Believe in the Heart of the Cards'", that made his dad and Yubel laugh, his comment having some common sense, Jaden continuing. "But serious talk, me and my 'friends' share a special bond. I know that we'll have a nice year together." he said, while thinking of both Yubel and three other 'special friends'.
"I hope so. I know that whenever you'll be, you'll be the best at anything... Well, revolving around dueling that is." his dad said nicely, which made Jaden show an embarrassed smile. When Jaden's dad looked at the road, he saw he was close the Duel Stadium Gates, with some more Contestants ready to go inside.
"Well, the time has come. Go ahead Jaden and show them what YOU'VE got..." said his dad with thumbs up. Jaden waved to him to say goodbye, until he got called again. "OH WAIT! Come here, I've got something to give you..." his dad called him, picking his deck and took out one card.
Jaden went back to the car, so his dad could give him the card. He looked at the card, his eyes widened open, while looking at his dad.
"Y-you sure you want to give me this card? This card is very important for your deck", he said.
"That card is just a good luck charm for this duel exam. I believe he wants to join you on this one duel" he said with a generous smile. "Until then, call me when you're done with it. Oh... And don't worry... I didn't forget about 'the promise'." he winked, his car leaving the Domino Stadium Gates.
"Well... I guess I'll partner with you on this one duel, bud", Jaden said with a generous smile.
The card simply showed itself as a Duel Monster Spirit for him and Yubel, and was showing off happy emotions. All that made Yubel to hug the Duel Spirit, Jaden got himself ready to go inside.
"LET'S GO, DOMINO STADIUM! TIME TO THROW DOWN" he screamed running to the Stadium, which led to some other contestants look at him with a confused look. He went to the Sign-Ups Contestation, there was a man who asked him, "Name..."
"Jaden", he answered.
"Surname...", the man added.
"... just Jaden", Jaden said nervously.
"Well, your name will be called in a bit. Meanwhile please wait until your name gets called."
*with Syrus*
'07:25 AM', it was showing at Syrus's watch, he was in the bathroom after his duel exam. He washed his face with some cold water to fresh his own head from the pressure he had during that time. After that, he just looked at the mirror.
He just had won the duel; he PASSED the exam. He still couldn't believe it at how he got accepted to Duel Academy. He cringed for a bit, until...
"I DID IT... I WON! DUEL ACADEMY… HERE I COME!" Syrus was jumping with happy emotions flowing though him. Until he calmed once again, he was already done with his celebration. He knew that only this exam match didn't matter on his ranking.
"I guess it's not all about this match exam to decide my final rank", he thought carefully now. True to be told, on his exam writing, he didn't do so well. He would probably be placed on lower-rank. 'Ahh well, one thing at the time it is...' he thought, leaving the bathroom.
"BASTION MISAWA! PLEASE REPORT TO THE EXAM, FIELD 3", the audio could be heard again from the center of the Duel Stadium.
Syrus went to the top hallway, hearing the name of the next contestant was about to begin his duel exam and it happened to be the same black-haired guy that talked to him; he remembers what the guy said: '- I'm about to have my own match in a bit, do you want to watch it?'.
"W-well, it wouldn't hurt for me to watch someone making his own duel exam, maybe I'll learn something new", he said to himself, going to the spectate hall to take a look the declared field, where the contestant would duel.
*With Bastion*
At the same time, Bastion was already with his Instructor on the field exam, a man with dark glasses and dark hair.
"Name...", asked the Instructor.
"Bastion Misawa, at your presence", said the declared contestant.
"Very Well, let us begin then", they turned up their duel disks and declared, "DUEL!"
Round 1 - Bastion (B): 4000; Duelist Instructor (DI): 4000
"All right it's my turn." the Instructor said as he drew his card, "I activate Pot of Greed: that lets me draw 2 cards; I set a monster face-down, with other card face-down to end my turn." The instructor said, a card being placed face-down in the Monster zone, and a card was placed face-down on his Spell/Trap Zone.
Round 2 - B: 4000; DI: 4000
"Very Well, it's my turn. I draw!", he smirked looking at his drawing card, "I start my turn by activating the Spell Card Painful Decision: by sending a Normal Monster from my deck to the graveyard; I can add the same monster from my deck to my hand!" informed Bastion, adding 2 cards from his deck and sending one to the graveyard.
"But why make him stay on my hand when I can summon it? GO Vorse Raider, attack mode!", declared Bastion, a wicked looking beast presented itself to the field, holding an axe with both hands. (ATK 1900 / DEF 1200)
"... And let's Battle! Vorse Raider attacks the set monster, 'Wicked Slash'!", the monster went straight up to the face-down monster, with the axe ready to slash it down. However, the Instructor smirked at the attack.
The card revealed itself to be a green rat with a giant dark blue shield that covered itself like a shell. The axe clashed the mouse's shield and the pressure made Bastion flinch. (B: 4000 - 3900).
"Too bad, try harder with the next attack contestant. Prevent Rat's defense is greater than your monster's attack, so you'll take damage equal to the difference", the instructor crossed him arms, with the named monster screeching (ATK 500 / DEF 2000).
"Hmmm, 'The Best Defense Is Always the Best Offense'... It's a Sword battle against a Shield!", smirked Bastion, " I'll just set a card face-down to end my turn.", one card got set on Bastion's Spell/Trap zone as he ended his turn.
*with Syrus*
"Well so far so good. A duel to decide which one is the strongest: the offensive or the defensive. Actually interesting, to know more about my own deck's strength too...", Syrus was talking to himself, looking like the duel was giving him good plan strategies.
While Syrus was still standing there in the Spectating Area, not so far from the Stadium Center, he didn't notice someone getting close right next to him, with a surprised look on his face.
"WOOAH! NICE, a Duel has already started!", the brownette said excited.
"GAHHHH! MY GOD… that scared me", Syrus said looking at him with a scared face, almost falling from his standing place. But he was still grabbing his hands on the support railing, trembling from his knees.
"Oh sorry, didn't noticed you there... Are you okay?", the boy said, holding him a hand so he could get back up.
"Oh... Humm... Uh... Y-yea, I'm fine..." he said, but he just relaxed and went back to his standing pose.
"Sorry to scare you. I guess when it comes to dueling, I kind of don't see anything else in front of me.", he said honestly, "By the way, the name's Jaden! What's yours?" Jaden said introducing himself, extending him a hand so they could shake their hands.
"Humm... Huh... S-Sy... Syrus Truesdale. Fif-15 years old, blood type A+, I-I like Fried Shrimp, I h-hate milk... and huh... huh..." he said with his hand trembling in front of Jaden. Jaden looked at the scared kid with worry, but changed it into a nice gentle smile, giving him patience until their hands could touch each other.
When Syrus felt their hands closing each other, he flinched and closed his eyes for a bit. Two seconds passed, he looked back in front of him and saw Jaden still smiling. Their hands were shaking, a show of introduction that made Syrus feel a little light on thoughts.
"There! Nice to meet you Syrus. You look cool, I like that!" Jaden said while grinning to him, but then he looked at the Arena, "And now to the dueling happening, who is this guy?"
"If I remember correctly on the audio noise... his name's Bastion Misawa, he..." Syrus reminded.
"Bastion Misawa... I know that name. I saw it on the Writing Exam Score Board. He scored perfectly just so his name could be on top of all applicants. To THINK that someone like him would be dueling right now... Khhhhh, it's making me want to duel him too." Jaden said it full emotional, leaving Syrus feeling a bit confused for the comment but at ease with him staying close to him.
'At least, I could get to finally talk to someone.' Syrus thought with a hiding smile.
*back to Bastion*
Round 3 - B: 3900; DI: 4000
"Alright kid. Is my turn! I draw!", the instructor smirked at the drawn card, "I tribute my Prevent Rat, to summon my Millennium Shield in Attack Mode", the Rat got switched into a giant red shield, with the Millennium Eye on the center of it. (ATK 0 / DEF 3000)
Bastion was wondering why he did summon the monster in attack mode, not until the instructor continued.
"It's just like you said, candidate... 'The Best Defense Is Always the Best Offense'... and I couldn't agree more, since I'm activating the Spell Card, Shield & Sword: all monsters on the field change their attack and defense powers." said the instructor. The Shield looked more ginormous (ATK 3000 / DEF 0), and the Vorse Raider was feeling his axe getting heavier on his arms (ATK 1200 / DEF 1900).
"And I know what you're thinking: 'the spell card effect only activates until the end of my turn, so my shield attack will go back to zero'. Well, I have just the card to stop that. I activate my Equip Spell, Magnum Shield: Now my Millennium Shiel will keep gaining attack from his defense points. So that means, it's attack will still continue to be 3000.", the new Equip Spell was activated targeting the Shield, making it glowing with a silver aura around it.
Bastion was impressed by that tactic; he never expected such a play from an instructor using a higher defense monster for an attack advantage instead. Not only he was impressed; almost every contestant were already interested to watch the exam Bastion was having right now.
"Alright new guy! Multiple choices and you got a giant shield staring you down: do you (A) throw in the towel, (B) beg for mercy, or (C) run home to MAMA... Well I guess this one battle will answer that, Millennium Shield, stomp that Vorse Raider!", declared the instructor. The shield simply lifts off straight to the Bastion's monster, almost clash into it; until he responded.
"I'll go with: (D) none of the above, I activate the Trap Card, Ring of Destruction: I can destroy a face-up monster on the field and we both take damage equal to that monster's attack. And I guess your Millenium Shield is just the right card for the trap", a ring full of explosives fell right to Vorse Raider's hand, and he threw it right to the Shield. The explosives made contact with the shield and Millenium Shield got destroyed. However, …
"Hngg, since Millenium Shield original attack is zero, we don't take any damage from your trap card... I'll end my turn" he said.
Round 4 - B: 3900; DI: 4000
"Okay, it's my turn! I draw! Excellent! I tribute my Vorse Raider, to Summon my Minoan Centaur in attack mode.", Bastion declared, Vorse Raider got switched into an even bigger centaur with evil eyes and red horns, holding an axe on its right arm. (ATK 1800 / DEF 1000)
"I don't know why you sacrificed your monster for a weaker one, but you will see that this Trap Card will make it even weaker, Inverse Universe: it changes permanently all Effect Monsters's attack and defense powers." the instructor said, the Centaur felt gravity over him making him feel heavier, losing power (ATK 1000 / DEF 1800).
"Not that would matter, because my Centaur has an Effect: by tributing himself, I'm allowed to special summon 2 Normal Monsters Beast-Warrior Type monsters from my deck; and I chose these two Battle Ox monsters, special summon in attack mode." smirked Bastion, the Centaur transforming into a pixel particle orb. It splatted in two, so two Bull creatures equipped with a red and golden armor and a silver axe could come to its place, letting out smoke from their nostrils. (2 x (ATK 1700 / DEF 1000))
"And to end this, I banish both my Vorse Raider and my Minoan Centaur in my graveyard, both beast-warrior monsters for your information; to Special Summon my Level 6, AKZ, The Pumer in attack mode", on Bastion side appeared a puma warrior, with a red cape behind him and dressed as a spartan; on his right arm he was holding a giant axe with a golden puma snout on it. (ATK 1500 / DEF 1000) Bastion closed his eyes and crossed his arms, smiling.
"Perfect match, perfect results... Let's battle! My two Battle Ox and AKZ... Finish this duel with a direct attack." Bastion said with his monsters going straight to the instructor life points (DI: 4000 - 2300 - 600 - 0).
BASTION WINS THE DUEL
Everyone watching the duel applauded by the duel ending, almost a flawless victory for Bastion.
"Clever moves applicant, welcome to the Academy" said the instructor.
"Thank you, oh wise proctor." bowed Bastion, the Duel Monster vanishing.
On the top of the Stadium there were three students, wearing the Obelisk uniform; one with a teal hair and medium-sized glasses; other with spiky brown crown-like hair; and the middle one with spiky black hair sectioned in two layers. They were sitting there in the Spectating Area, finishing watching the Bastion's duel.
"Wow, that guy over there looks pretty good, don't ya think Chazz?" asked the teal hair guy.
"Guess the rumors about him being some kind of a whiz kid were true, huh Chazz?", asked the brown spiky hair.
"He's a punk! We went to duel prep school for the past 3 years. We're ready for the Academy. But the THING is... Duel Academia doesn't need two kings, only ONE!", he responded with a smirk.
*with Syrus and Jaden*
"Wow, Bastion really toured him up. That's what getting the highest score of the writing exam makes these guys such good duelists." Jaden said impressed.
"Uhh... Yeah... I'm also glad he got to pass the exam. Almost... like... a zero-damage win, if I say so myself..." Syrus said laughing nervously, while Jaden stared his eyes on him.
"S-sorry… Sorry. I so happen to have this kind of anxiety on people staring at me, the... the same anxiety also happening for writing tests" Syrus added sweating, "Honestly saying... I actually... don't know how I won my match..." he finished the sentence while trying to relax again. That made Jaden smile at him.
"So, you're in! Congrats on passing." He said, giving a small clap on his back, that act making Syrus get a scared-surprised look, that made him grab his arms with a stronger grip at the railing. "I still have mine to do so, since I guess I'll be called next. Just wait here so I'll be joining you when I win my duel."
*at the same time, on the other side of the Duel Stadium*
On the seats from the seat row, there were some Duel Academy's upperclassmen and teachers discussing about the new contestants that did the today's exam, they were impressed by them.
In the middle of the teachers there was one with a different outfit from the other teacher's outfit, since included gold shoulder plates with pink trimmings and the ruffled pink collar between his neck. He had long blonde hair, which made him use a ponytail behind his back to stuck the hair; the white makeover over his face to hide his age skin; and using purple lipstick on his lips.
He was just getting called on by the man who was in the entry of the gates for the contestant's exam sign-ups.
"I'm sorry to interrupt but we're ready to have our last contestant ready to take their exam, Mr. Crowler".
"Excuse me, but did you just call me 'mister'?" Crowler scowled while looking at the man standing there.
"I'm sorry, I'm new here, Miss..." the man tried to correct what he said, when Crowler interrupted
"I have a PhD in dueling to earn the title DOCTOR thank you!" snapped Crowler with some pride, after sighing for a bit, "And yes, I know about the last contestant. I'll face him, with my OWN deck! It's just like they all say: 'Last come, first served... BY ME!'" he said smirking to himself, leaving the row seats to go to the Duel Stadium Arena.
*back again to Syrus and Jaden*
Bastion just came to the spectate zone, to take a seat in one of the chairs standing in the row of seats right in front of Jaden and Syrus.
"Hey Bastion! Sweet Duel done there", "H-hey" said Jaden and Syrus to the so-called Bastion.
"Hey guys, Syrus... and thank you! I did what I thought it would be the best plays." Bastion looked behind, waving and replying politely.
That led to Jaden jokingly inform "Judging by the looks of things, you might be the second-best duelist here." with that comment, both Syrus and Bastion were looking confused at him, when they heard the audio loudspeaker called:
"MISTER JADEN! PLEASE REPORT TO THE EXAM, FIELD 4".
"IT'S GO TIME! Wish me luck guys." He said to the other-already-passed-applicants, with a friendly tone.
"Hey, wait. If I'm the second-best duelist, who's first?" Bastion asked, Jaden turned his attention to him. He only showed an edgy serious smile while pointing a finger to himself.
"Yours truly of course. It's what I'm the best at" he blinked an eye now walking down the stairs. Not from their perspective, they didn't notice Yubel following him hovering with a smile at Jaden's answer.
"Well... I guess... He really is so sure of himself. I wonder if he really is THAT good" Syrus said with a worried look
"He's going to need to be, look at who he's dueling." Bastion added, while looking at the center of the Stadium 4th Field.
*Duel Stadium Arena*
We see Jaden going up from a surface to the exact arena where he and Crowler would face each other. Some lady attendants were finish preparing the Dr. Crowler duel disk, when Jaden arrived the Arena.
"Buon giorno (Good Day)!", said Crowler to the attendant.
"Jaden here ready to throw down" smirked Jaden, bowing his head to Crowler.
"Signore Jaden, I am the Chancelor Vellian Crowler, headmaster of Obelisk Blue Boys and Director of Practical Application at the academy." introduced Crowler to Jaden.
"What an honor! To think that the Director of the Practical Application would challenge ME for the exam. I'm sure that means you're expecting a lot out from me!" he got himself pumped up for the fact revealed. Yubel next to him was laughing to herself by his comment, and Crowler was there left speechless.
On the top spectating area, Chazz and his crewmates were impressed by his starting personality. 'I can't believe this!' thought Chazz annoyed.
"Duel Coat, ON!" Crowler clicked a red button with his right middle finger on his personal duel disk, and hold his duel disk with his left hand, like he was holding a sword. He took 5 cards from his deck with his right hand. Jaden whistled at the machinery work.
"Well despise that Duel Coat looking sweet tech... I have my own duel disk ready." he said turning on his personal duel disk too. Syrus on top of the spectating stands looked at Jaden's duel disk... it kind of looked 'familiar' to him.
"Don't you dare lose, my love" said Yubel to Jaden, the one hearing getting confident.
"DUEL!" Jaden and Crowler declared at same time.
Round 1 - Crowler (C): 4000; Jaden (J): 4000
"It's My turn!" declared Dr Crowler, drawing his card, "And allow me to teach YOU just how broad the world is! From my hand I activate the Magic Card, Confiscation: by paying 1000 Life Points, I can look at your hand, pick one card from it and discard it to the graveyard." said Crowler, Jaden's hand started shinning and Crowler could watch the cards he was holding. (C: 4000 - 3000)
The cards revealed to be Elemental Hero Blazeman, Yubel, Polymerization, Elemental Hero Ocean and Elemental Hero Shadow Mist. 'A Hero Deck, is it? I suppose you could say he's some kind of small-town hero. From some studies I did, I believe these heroes rely on the strength of Fusion Monsters... my pick is simple then' Crowler looked at his cards and ended his thinking pointing to a card.
"I'll send Polymerization to the Graveyard!", Crowler declared, Jaden saw the selected card going to its place.
Yubel, in other words, was embarrassed: 'I can't believe someone besides Jaden could stare at me, I feel... violated.'
'Stop it, Yubel' Jaden thought looking at the Duel Spirit with a sigh.
"Next I summon Ancient Gearframe in attack position." he said so, a gear-like gadget appeared to his side of the field, a red led turned on where it was supposed to be his left eye. (ATK 1600 / DEF 500)
"And I'll use its Special Ability: by discarding one card to my graveyard, I can add from my deck to my hand a card that lists 'Ancient Gear Golem' in its text; I'll add Ancient Gear Fusion!" he said so, discarding one card by the cost of the monster effect.
"And next I'll activate it! Ancient Gear Fusion: works like Polymerization, I'll send my Gearframe with my Ancient Gear Soldier,from my hand. 'From the Depths of the Dark, I'll Make You Rise Up', Fusion Summon! Level 8, Ancient Gear Howitzer! Defense mode."
On his field, the Gearframe and another Ancient Gear monster was revealed from the professor hand to be stormed into a lighting vortex, making them combine each other to form a dragon-like machine with shields in each arm, in each shield there was 3 cannons. The wings were behind it, with gears holding them, and the tail was long with some kind of circuit wires. The machine screamed as it was summoned. (ATK 1000 / DEF 1800)
"My monster can't be stopped by other cards. And it also has a Special Ability: once per turn, I can inflict 1000 damage on your Life Points! Don't need to thank me" laughed the Professor, Howitzer shooting beams from his cannons to Jaden, he protecting himself with his arms. (J: 4000 - 3000).
"I'll set a card face-down to end my turn." Crowler finished his turn with a card face-down.
Both Syrus and Bastion on the stands watched the Doctor plays so far, they were actually impressed at the advantage the Doctor was having right now.
"This... is the deck… of the Director of Practical Application? I-I'm actually scared at how far I'll go this year.", Syrus said scared at how far the duel was going
"Let's just see what the FIRST-BEST applicant has to offer in this case so" Bastion said with a serious look to what Jaden would do.
The three Obelisks were having different opinions. "That's not the entry exam deck, that's Crowler's own deck. The DARK AGES Deck!", the teal haired guy said.
"With his starting hand, he discarded a card from his opponent and made him lose 1000 Life Points. Although they're tied, Dr. Crowler has a Fusion Monster staring at him and defense ready to counter attack.", the brown hair guy informed.
"I see Dr. Crowler plans on giving that new guy's fleeting dreams a thorough stomping on" Chazz admitted with a content smirk.
On top of the Chazz crew, there were standing two other Obelisks watching the duel as well. A guy and a girl. The guy had dark blue hair and grey colored eyes and wore the white variation of the boy's Obelisk blazer while the girl wore the female version. Blue and white blazer, with a blue-mini skirt and blue heels. She had long blonde hair, brown eyes and she was also wearing blue fingerless dueling gloves.
"I feel sorry for him. It appears Crowler doesn't fancy him, don't you think Zane?" the girl said with a hand holding her worried face and the elbow on the railing.
"This should be worth seeing, Alexis! I just hope we might have the honor of seeing his legendary rare card.", the said Zane informed with a serious look.
Back on the arena, it was now Jaden's turn. "Go for it, Jaden! Show them your HERO power" smirked Yubel only to Jaden to hear.
Round 2 - C: 3000; J: 3000
"Alright it's MY turn, I draw! And I summon Elemental Hero Blazeman in attack position." Jaden inserted the monster in the duel disk, a Hero monster appeared to his side of the field with flames on his head, an orange and red mask and armor; behind him there were wires connected on his back, holding jets bursting flames as well. (ATK 1200 / DEF 1800)
"And when its summoned it's effect activates: I can add a Polymerization from my deck to my hand." he added the card and looked to Crowler 'Too much for that Confiscation spell card' he thought to himself, Yubel laughing for his friend's thinking.
"And I'll use it right now, GO Polymerization! I'll send Elemental Hero Blazeman and Elemental Hero Ocean from my hand to the graveyard! 'Combine the Flames with the Mythic Depths. Create a New Light to Clear the Darkness!' Fusion Summon! My Level 7, Elemental Hero Sunriser!"
As Jaden took the card from the extra deck and inserted it to the field, the 2 heroes emerged together and formed a new hero; a bigger Hero than them, a red armor covering him with a sun crest on the torso; a big blue cape behind him. Also, on top of each arms, there were Lunar like claws with spikes over it. (ATK: 2500 / DEF: 1200)
"My Sunriser has a Special Ability: the moment it got special summoned, from my deck I can add a certain Fusion Spell Card to my hand; the Spell Card Miracle Fusion, activate: I banish fusion materials from my graveyard to Fusion Summon a new 'HERO'." Jaden informed, taking the cards from his graveyard.
"I banish the Elemental Hero Blazeman and Ocean! 'The Deep Earth will clash with the flames that will restore a new savior. Let the heat cover your nature'! Fusion Summon! My Level 8, Elemental Hero Nova Master!" he finished the chant as he inserted the card on the duel disk.
On Jaden's side, next to Sunriser, a new Hero with the same size appeared from the ground with a noble-like red and yellow armor, a red cape behind him. Just like Sunriser, he was ready to attack, with flames on his hands. (ATK: 2600 / DEF: 2100)
Syrus just looked at Jaden's field with a surprised reaction, "Tw-two fusions... in ONE turn... How... how did this guy do this? It can't be that easy, can it?"
"It's just as impressive as it looks like; Jaden is showing off a powerful combination of Heroes nobody else ever imagine it ever existed. Just expected from the so-called first-best duelist", Bastion added with a smile. That would might become a big challenge for him.
"Let's go, Battle Time! Nova Master attack Howitzer, with 'Blast Burn'!" Jaden declared battle and Nova Master went straight to Howitzer and destroyed it with a flame punch. Howitzer however let out a last roar of calling.
"Mwahahaha! Signore Jaden, you should've paid more attention at what you're dealing with. By destroying my monster, you've activated his other effect: I can special summon ANY Ancient Gear monster from my deck, ignoring its summoning costs. I summon to the field, my Level 8, Ancient Gear Golem!", laughed Crowler, a new monster appeared on his side of the field in place of Howitzer; it was a giant man made out of old rusted metals and gears appearing colored a rusted brown color with giant clawed hands and a single red eye shinning to the Jaden's monster. (ATK 3000 DEF 3000)
Alexis, Zane, Syrus, Bastion and Chazz gasped at the card. "That's his... legendary rare card!" Alexis said admired.
"Crowler has yet to lose once he's summoned that card. I wouldn't have pegged that examinee to have the power to make the Professor take this seriously" Zane said, feeling pity for the applicant.
"He is rather fickle, you know. It's a shame, I caught the sound of the Academia's iron doors closing shut." Alexis said.
"A level eight monster just out of the blue like that?" Syrus asked even more admired on the other side of the stadium.
Jaden, on the contrary, was more excited than before, smirking to the new creature, "Awesome! The rumors told me about this thing. But let me not forget it's STILL my turn. And since Nova Master destroyed your monster by battle, I'm able to draw a card." he drew the card and grinned by it, the new 'friend' being added to his hand "... and with that, I end my turn."
Round 3 – C: 3000; J: 3000
"It's my turn, Draw... We'll go to Battle, as it seems... My Ancient Gear Golem will attack your Sunriser! Go 'Ultimate Pound'!" the Golem pushed its arm back to then smash it to the Hero monster, destroying it in pixels and the pressure making Jaden cover his head with his hands. (J: 3000 - 2900)
"With that I'll end my turn! Already lost your fighting spirit, have you?" he said seeing Jaden having his bangs covering his eyes as he thought Jaden was scared... however Jaden started laughing.
"I'm actually touched... that the Directing Professor is dueling his hardest against me!" he said with a confident spirit. Well, at least Yubel next to him would know that feeling he was having right now.
"Grr... Just do your turn and make it quick! Your monsters are weak even against my monster!" scowled Crowler.
Round 4 – C: 3000; J: 2900
"Oh yeah? It's my turn then. I draw!" he smiled at the card he drew, "You are right, my monsters ALONE are weak against your Golem! However, that will change once I activate my Field Spell, Skyscraper!" he said activating the field spell on the top of its duel disk.
Once he did so, the holograms changed to big skyscraper buildings covering the arena, where the Golem could be seen in the middle, while Nova Master went to one of the skyscrapers.
'Wow... that field spell looks KINDA awesome... It's just as awesome as my Megaroid City spell... well, that's what I think…' Syrus thought grinning to himself.
"And to give some help, I summon Elemental Hero Stratos in attack mode." A hero wearing in green and blue with some winged turbines was summoned to the field (ATK 1800 / DEF 300).
"And he has an ability: when summoned, I can add one 'Hero' monster from my deck." he added card a card to his hand, "And now we'll battle! My Nova Master will attack your Golem, go 'Blast Burn'!" Jaden smirked with his attack decision, while Crowler laughed at that.
"Scherzi (Jokes)! You must be joking! Nova Master's Attack doesn't hold a candle to my Ancient Gear Golem! Your monster will be destroyed."
But Jaden was still smiling at that comment "That would be the case, except my Skyscraper raises the attack of my Elemental Hero monsters by a 1000 if they battle a monster with a higher attack." and Crowler's eyes wide with that explanation, Nova Master attack raising. (ATK: 2600 - 3600)
"If that's the case, you don't give me a choice... I flip over my Trap Card, Zero Gravity: this changes the battle positions of ALL monsters on the field!" Crawler snarled as his face-down trap got revealed, making Golem, Stratos and Nova Master change to defense mode. While Yubel gritted her teeth, Jaden only sighed, "I guess I end my turn..."
Round 5 – C: 3000; J: 2900
"Hehe, it's my turn! I draw!" he smirked at the card he drew would decide the game, "I start by activating the Continuous Spell, Ancient Gear Castle:" a castle-fort appeared behind him, "This Spell raises all my Ancient Gear monster's attack by 300. A strong feature to my monsters." Crowler finished his sentence, his Golem growling, feeling stronger (ATK 3300 / DEF 3000)
Jaden just nodded at that, see what the professor would do next.
"And now we go to battle. Ancient Gear Golem, FINISH THIS DUEL by attacking Stratos with your 'Ultimate Pound'!" said the Professor with a laughter voice.
"I don't get this 'finish this duel' sentence... my monster is in defense position, so I'm safe." Jaden said confused
"That's where he's wrong" Bastion said as he stood up from his seat, wide eyeing the field. The numbers wouldn't lie to this battle.
"It seems you forgot my Ancient Gear Golem's effect: if he attacks a monster that is in defense mode, it inflicts piercing damage. Your Stratos defense is weak. That means IT'S ALL OVER!" the professor said, the Golem sending a furious smash to Jaden's Stratos.
Jaden was however relaxed in his place, when an explosion could be heard from the Arena, smoke spreading on Jaden's field. However, the Skyscraper was still intact on the field.
"Hmm? Is there something wrong here? I believe the buildings were supposed to go down now." Crowler looked confused at the buildings not leaving, the smoke was clearing.
"That's what you wanted, am I right?" Jaden said as he was still on his feet, with Nova Master still on the field taking a knee, no Stratos, but his Life Points were still... intact. (J: 2900)
'Jaden, one day or another, I'll kill you for scaring me like this' Yubel said while scratching the back of her hair.
"W-w-WHAAAAT? I was supposed to defeat you right in this moment, how did you survive the attack?" Crowler asked pointing a finger to him, Jaden answering.
"How? That's a simple question to answer." he said, a light showing up in his graveyard and he took out the card to reveal it to everyone.
Syrus, Bastion, Alexis, Zane and Chazz were the first ones to gasp for the card revealed. It was Kuriboh, one of the most famous cards of the world of dueling. Only the King of Games would have that card in his deck. There was no other way... Unless...
"Who are you?" Crowler asked the kid.
"Huh? Like I said... the name's Jaden. Don't you remember?" Jaden said the teacher
"I require to know your Surname, like everyone else here. You MUST have a surname. And that card you have now... I need an explanation!"
Jaden only covered his closed eyes, "Who. Are. You?" Crowler repeated, almost losing patience.
Jaden let out a huge sigh as he opened his now more serious eyes. "Very well, I guess I can't hide it anymore. The name's... Jaden MUTO!"
...
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA" everyone in the spectating arena started laughing except for the guys who gasped first, actually believing in what Jaden said.
"Assurdo (Nonsence)! There's no way that the King of Games even had kids; you stole his card and then you say you're his successor? HA!" Crowler scowled Jaden
"Believe it or not! I AM JADEN MUTO, Step-son of Yugi Muto. With that clarified, I guess I'll be the one finishing the duel." Jaden started his turn with a smirk on him.
"Huh?" asked Crowler
Round 6 – C: 3000 J: 2900
"Like I was going to say, by discarding my friend Kuriboh to the graveyard, I won't take battle damage from your Golem's attack. But now it's my turn to shine!" Jaden said drawing his new card.
"I summon Elemental Hero Solid Soldier." on his side appeared a new Hero with armor that covered his elbows, knees and the chest area, made of a platinum and gold material. His mask was also made of the same material to cover his head. (ATK 1300 / DEF 1100)
"... And my Solid Soldier has an effect: I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Hero monster from my hand, and pick my Elemental Hero Shadow Mist, in attack position as well." Next to Solid Soldier appeared a paled man, covered in a dark suit everywhere and with long blue hair. (ATK 1000 / DEF 1500)
"And with Shadow Mist Special Summoned' effect: I can add a 'Change' Spell from my deck; and I'll activate it, my Quick-Play Spell Card, Mask Change: by sending a 'Hero' monster I control to the graveyard, I can special summon a new 'Hero' fusion monster with the same attribute; I'll send my Shadow Mist to the graveyard…"
A mask appeared on the declared hero, where he wore it and suddenly his body started to glow, "I special summon my Level 6, Masked Hero Dark Law in attack position." He inserted the card on the disk. The glow was gone now, with a new hero revealed, in a dark suit. Both his mask and chest showing a Beast face; he also had iron claws on the elbows and legs. (ATK: 2400 / DEF: 1800)
The new hero showed himself to the field, darkness spread over him, with Solid Soldier and Nova Master getting themselves nervous at his presence. He was one of Jaden's wicked Heroes after all. "The Hero always wins in the end! My Elemental Hero Nova Master attacks Ancient Gear Golem." Jaden declared, Nova Master went straight to the Golem.
Flames were spreading into him stronger due to the Skyscraper attack raise, burning the Golem with the heat (ATK 2600 - 3600)
"Mama Mia! My Golem!" said Crowler, a scrap of his monster falling on top his head. (C: 2900 - 2300)
"Gotcha! That was a fun duel, teacher! Dark Law, attack him directly and end this." Jaden did his signature pose, both first two fingers and his thumb pointing at Crowler. Dark Law sent a dark orb to the professor, the Doctor covering himself from the attack. (C: 2300 - 0)
JADEN WINS THE DUEL
"How? How was I beaten by a faker duelist like him?" said Crowler, falling on his knees.
Chazz and his crew were confused in the seats "I can't believe Professor Crowler was beaten by this examinee!"
Alexis on top was actually impressed by the candidate plays "He's pretty interesting, isn't he?" she asked looking at Zane, but he left from his spot.
Syrus and Bastion looked at Jaden with a grin as he was now climbing up the stairs "Way to go Jaden! That… was… huh… an awesome duel" Syrus said positively.
'Mhm, you might turn out to be a fine rival, first-best duelist' thought Bastion smirking.
"Hey thanks, I'm just glad you enjoyed my show" said Jaden Muto already close to his new friends "Let's get out here to get something to eat, that duel made me starved!" he said, the three guys laughing and leaving the Stadium.
Tomorrow would be the day they would go to Duel Academy.

Jaden, Syrus and Bastion were sitting now in the Stadium cafeteria, eating some sandwiches that they got served. While Jaden and Bastion were talking about dueling strategies, Syrus was there eating his snack peacefully.
He wasn't too much of a talking person, but listening to other people talking to each other close to him made him feel a little uncomfortable. So, he decided to think to himself about some cards that he thought it would strengthen his deck. However, his train of thoughts were interrupted when Jaden looked at Syrus and called him.
"Hey there bud, everything okay?" he asked worried
"Hu-Huh? Y-yeah I'm okay… I-I-I was just thinking to myself… you know… cards and stuff" Syrus admitted, sweat laughing.
"You don't look too well to me. You can tell me what's bothering you, I'm all listening." Jaden said with a nice smile. But then he remembered that Syrus said he suffering from 'anxiety'. That made him ask softly "Could it be, that you're shy when you're close to other people?"
"Hu… Hum… Truth to be told, guys… I never had someone this close to talk to me, I-I don't even know what… to say." Syrus said a little embarrassed.
"Could it be, that you never had friends?" Bastion asked, trying to be logic on his words by what Syrus said just now. Syrus only got himself shut, with his head down and nodding slowly.
Jaden could've figure that out, by the way he was behaving. How a lonesome life this person could've had. However, the worried expression he had changed to a smile, as he got up from his seat and went close Syrus to put a hand on his shoulder. "What if we become your first friends, Syrus?"
"Huh?" Syrus asked as he turned his head up.
"Yeah! Remember what I said when we met? You are a cool guy. I enjoy staying with people like YOU! You know, you bring me nice vibes whenever I am with you." Jaden said, Syrus was feeling more relaxed.
"What do you say? Want to be one of my first friends in this Academy?" Jaden asked him. That left Syrus speechless again… It wasn't even his first day on Duel Academy, and people were now asking HIM if he wanted to be his 'friend'. He felt like he wasn't ready to answer, but he only nodded. That made Jaden grin and Bastion smirk.
"Ohh! And of course, I didn't forget you, second-best! From now on, let us get all along!" Jaden said to Bastion as he extended his arm in front of him; which made him to reply
"Of Course! Let us have a year to remember!" and they shook their hands with respect.
Deep inside, Syrus was smiling; he felt that meeting these two people he considered them 'friends' was actually a good thing, at least for now…
I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter/episode. Took me some time to think of the decks Bastion and his opponent would use on this duel, probably the same time it took me to build Syrus' opponent deck (which I really don't know if it was an Insect-Type deck on the first place, I just let myself go in building these decks).
