Jacklyn had arrived at the forest where the mysterious object had landed. She then searched for the object, curious as to what it was. She soon came across the Shooting Star broom from Mystrallia. Jacklyn was curious as to why a mysterious designed broom was in the forest, for she had never seen a broom like the Shooting Star before. "What kind of broom is this?" The broom then sprang to life in front of her, knocking her off guard with surprise. The broom then began to communicate to her in the form of a spirit. The broom's spirit told Jacklyn that the broom in front of her was known as the Shooting Star and that she was chosen to be its next owner. Jacklyn was baffled until the spirit clarified that its old owner had passed on leaving it restless until it found another pet worthy of being chosen. Jacklyn wondered why she was chosen by the broom, since she wondered how the broom was made and what were the qualifications of being the broom's owner. The Shooting Star told her that she was smart, loyal, brave, and spunky, and that those were the same character traits that the old owner had. Jacklyn did not know how to respond because she did not know if it complimented her or was just saying stuff to make her feel special.

The broom explained that it was being honest, thanks to its ability to sense a pet's personality. Jacklyn was amazed by its ability, but still wondered why it had a spirit. The broom sensed Jacklyn's confusion as to seeing it, and so it addressed its origins. "I came from another world, a world full of mystery and magic: Mystrallia." Jacklyn was in awe of how the kingdom was called. "How did you end up in this one," Jacklyn asked. The Shooting Star explained that Mystrallia was connected to Jacklyn's world due to a special structure known as a leyline terminal. "They can only be spotted by a pet from Mystrallia, or to be more accurate, a mage of Mystrallia." Jacklyn wondered how the broom could "see," but figured that it had super sensory abilities. However, that was not the only question ringing in her head. She was intrigued by the line that leylines could only be seen by a mage. She wondered if the broom's first owner was a mage, which would explain its sentience and magical abilities. The broom confirmed to Jacklyn that its old owner was a mage, and that she was too.

Jacklyn was not expecting to be called a magic user, since she had not seen anything strange that could be explained with magic, other than the sentient broom she had just met. The broom explained to Jacklyn: "I can not only sense a pet's personality, I can also sense magical energy in a mage." Jacklyn was still trying to grasp the fact that she was a mage, since while she was a fan of Harry Potter and liked magic in general, she could not consider herself a possible magic user due to a lack of mystery and fear. Jacklyn soon told the Shooting Star that she had to leave, but promised that she would return to the forest once she had all of the information had settled.

The broom accepted her decision, and went to rest in the forest. Jacklyn then left the forest to return home and rest up for tomorrow. The next day, Jacklyn decided to inform her friends of the Shooting Star's existence. Jacklyn knew that they would most likely disbelieve her if she just told them about the broom. And so she decided to summon her friends to the forest where the Shooting Star was and introduce her friends to it. Once Laura and Charlie were at the forest's edge, Jacklyn guided her friends through the brambles and twisty forest paths until they arrived at the Shooting Star. While they were being guided through the forest, Jacklyn was explaining to them about what she had encountered after they left. Laura was doubtful of a sentient broom living in the forest, while Charlie was excited to see the broom. Laura was confused, but soon remembered that Charlie had inherited some traits of a character from her favorite T.V. show.

Charlie Dawson was an avid fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and had shown her love for one of the main characters: a pink pony respectively named Pinkie Pie. Pinkie was known for her optimism and quirky behavior, and loved to make ponies smile. She had also introduced her friends to the same show. The show took place in a world of fantasy and mythology known as Equestria. It was populated by pastel ponies and other mythical creatures like griffons and dragons, and they all had their own kingdoms. Jacklyn and Laura were intrigued by the fantasy elements, and wondered what kind of show it was. MLP was a "Slice of Life" kids show aimed at little girls, that had unexpectedly attracted a bigger audience of adults and teens. Laura and Jacklyn also became invested in two more of the main cast. Laura became attached to a unicorn named Rarity who ran her own boutique and had dreams of living in high society. Jacklyn became attached to a rainbow-haired pegasus pony named Rainbow Dash who was a super fast flyer, and shared many traits with her. However, she also had a huge ego, which often got her into to trouble. Jacklyn was turned off by her ego, but was glad when she learned from her mistakes.

It wasn't long before the three girls arrived at the clearing. There Jacklyn introduced her friends to the broom. The Shooting Star was shocked to find that Jacklyn had shared her secret with "mortals," which was what the broom called non-magical pets. "I thought you would be keeping the World of Magic a secret!" the spirit said agitated. Jacklyn told the broom that she only informed her friends and no one else, which eased the broom a tiny bit. Jacklyn explained to her friends that she encountered the broom last night, and explained that it came from another world of magic that connected their world. Charlie was amazed to learn that a world of magic did exist, and wanted to see its home world. Jacklyn explained that the broom came from a world known as Mystrallia, which could only be accessed by mages from that exact same world. The reason was due to special protection magic on the portal to prevent non-magical beings from entering. The other girls wondered why the broom had arrived in the non-magical world, since most magical beings would prefer to stay hidden from non-magical beings. Jacklyn explained that the broom came to Earth to find a new owner due to Mystrallia's view toward the broom as an uncontrollable object with no owner. "Oh My Celestia, you're the broom's new owner," Charlie exclaimed excitedly. Jacklyn agreed, but was not super thrilled on being a "chosen one." Laura wondered why Jacklyn was not thrilled to be entrusted with a special broom, and asked. Jacklyn did not want to be entrusted with a great responsibility that might involve the future of a single world, especially one she knew very little about.

Jacklyn was curious, yet she held back due to fear of sacred responsibility like many heroes in fiction who were destined with a sacred responsibility. It was not long after Laura's question did Jacklyn ask if her friends wanted to see Mystrallia along with her. They agreed, and decided they would first prepare for their trip first. Since Mystrallia would be populated by magic users, and with Jacklyn's knowledge of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Laura would design wizard cloaks for the girls to wear when in Mystrallia. Jacklyn even offered some wands from the same franchise just in case the cloaks wouldn't be a good enough cover. The girls spent the rest of the day preparing for their voyage to the magical world. Over the night, the girls envisioned what the world would look like. The next day, they met up, returned to the clearing, got on the broom, and flew toward the leyline. The broom was very fast, which made getting to their destination easier than expected. They then entered the leyline, which took them to Mystrallia.
