Laying down in bed, Z opened his eyes.
Looking around at his surrounding he now knew he was not dreaming before.
'I'm really in another world huh, but what world did I come from?' he couldn't help but ask himself these sorts of questions when he made these unusual remarks.
'What am I going to do now' Z got up and walked over to his window, hoping to see the exit of the town, unfortunately it wasn't in view.
'what chance would I have any way, I am sure someone would be watching the exit to town, unless I leave when they fall asleep, that's it! I'll leave tonight when its late, that way they won't be able to stop me.' He didn't know if his plan would work or not, but he was at least willing to try, the only other option was to wait a year and leave with Ash, but that was the last thing he wanted to do.
With Z's plans underway he began raiding his house looking for anything that would help him on his journey. Looking around in the storage room besides old furniture and boxes he eventually found an old fishing rod, along with a map. Not knowing what the terrain would be like, he stashed away the map into his bag.
"MUM CAN I TAKE THIS OLD ROD" Z yelled
"WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH IT" Z's mother replied
"WHAT DO YOU THINK, ahh this is annoying, IM COMING OUT" Z
"WHAT? Oh hey, what were you saying?" Mum
"I was just wondering if I could have this old rod" Z
"Yeah that's fine but you know that thing is fairly useless" Mum
"Why because it only catches Magikarp?" Z
"How did you know that?" she said genuinely surprised
"I just had a feeling haha, any way what if I go catch a Magikarp for my first Pokémon" 'fuck I can't keep giving myself away like this hopefully Mum doesn't notice'
"Don't be ridiculous I would feel even more worried if you tried protecting yourself with one"
"Why? I think a Magikarp would make a great weapon"
"Hahahaha good one son"
But Z was serious, this could help his plan.
"Mum I'm going to go catch a Magikarp"
"I thought we just agreed that they are useless."
"Mum I'm just going to practice catching them, think of it like a trial run!"
"Fine but make sure you don't leave the town and try and fish somewhere people can see you"
"Yes mum"
Just outside Pallet town, near the entrance to route 21, a young boy could be seen fishing on the rocks.
'I wonder if I need bait or not' as he was thinking that he felt a tug from the rod.
'I guess not' with all his might he started reeling his catch in, yet not forcing it, due to concern of the line snapping.
"Come on big fella just give up already" Z couldn't believe how much of a fight this fish had, unwilling to give up, Z started walking while reeling, as he made his to the beach, he wanted to pull the fish into shallow water to make its struggle even harder.
when he finally got a glimpse of the whole thing, he honestly couldn't believe his eyes.
"How the hell is this a Magikarp, Its nearly as big as a Parasect" intrigued at his find he decided it was better to show Oak himself rather then tell stories. Plus, thoughts of it turning into a Giant Gyarados did cross his mind.
"Guess you're going to be my first, go pokeball" Z took the stance of a pitcher, throwing the pokeball at unnormal speeds, yet it all felt so natural to him. The pokeball pelted through the air until it hit Magikarp right on the head.
"head shot!" Z was caught up in the moment, he could feel the excitement all over him.
A magical like light shortly appeared, it engulfed the Magikarp flopping around in the low shore, until nothing but the pokeball remained.
1 wriggle.
"come on"
2 wriggles
"please please please"
3 wriggles
"ahhhhh"
then it was nothing but silence, as if everything and everyone was holding their breath in anticipation.
"ka ching", with the button popping out in the middle of the pokeball, Z now had caught a Magikarp.
"I did it, I caught a fatty"
When Z returned home that after noon, he couldn't wait to share the good news
"Mum I did it! I caught 3 of them, you should see the first one I caught, it's so big!"
"well don't bring him out just yet, I just mopped the floors, lets head out to the back"
"okay"
Making their way to the backyard, Z grabbed the first pokeball on his belt.
"Go Magikarp"
"KARPP KARPP" Each time it flopped around, little tremors could be felt.
"oh my, you weren't kidding Z, I didn't think it was possible for a Magikarp to get this big, its nearly as big as you?"
"Mum im still growing, but your right, if we stand him up" using all his might he stood Magikarp upright
"see I told you he's nearly as tall as you"
"do you have a tape measure or some scales"
"why do you need that?"
"why do you think?" he said pointing at Magikarp.
"Why can't you just use status?"
"Status?"
Z was speechless
"yeah just focus on Magikarp, then say Status, you're acting like this is the first time you've heard of it.. what are you doing?"
Z wasn't ignoring his mother, it's just at this moment he had bigger issues.

Z didn't understand "it's not working"
"of course it's not working, what do you think I am? A Pokémon?"
"hahaha of course not, well thanks for the explanation mum, I'd like some time alone with Magikarp please"
"of course, I remember what it was like when I caught my first Pokémon…" looking down and seeing Magikarp be her sons first Pokémon, actually made her feel a little guilty, was it really okay to delay his adventure till next year, just so she wouldn't feel lonely.
"Mum it's okay don't get emotional, you had some great times in the past, I'm sure that Pokémon was grateful for meeting you"
"aww Z I really don't deserve you, I'm going to leave you boys alone, make sure you give Magikarp some water, he looks like he's getting a little dry"
"kaaaaaarp"
"OH SHIT WHERES THE HOSE"
With Magikarp splashing away in a puddle, the hose spraying on top of him, Z was finally able to check out his first Pokémon's status, he decided to leave his status till tonight.

Z walked over to the Small Male Magikarp "Anime logic please work here"
Bending down he placed his hand near its tail, then attempted to pick it up, to his surprise it was light, to light. This wasn't normal for a 11-year-old boy, to be able to pick up Pokémon that weighed as it did, this easily was.
It only took moments before Z was dual wielding his Magikarp, what started off as sluggish clumsy swings, now looked sharp and refined, he still had a long way to go, but the improvements in his movement spoke for themselves.
After practice he made his way inside to have dinner, after that he convinced his mother he was tired after todays events and went straight to bed. When she finally went to sleep, Z said his goodbyes and started heading towards Route 1, unfortunately it wasn't difficult for him to leave without saying a proper goodbye, despite the memories he had, it didn't feel like it belonged to him, but he promised that he would do his best to keep a relationship with her, the last thing he wanted to do was hurt the women.
With that over his first obstacle was to make sure no one was blocking the exit out of Pallet town. Surprisingly, his worries where for nothing.
"I guess reality is a tad different to the games" With no one blocking the path he managed to escape Pallet town!
"I can't believe this is happening" Full of excitement he started running, but the more he ran, the darker it would get, before he knew it, he had run into complete darkness.
It wasn't until he had run out of breath, causing him to slow down to catch it, that he realized his current situation, still due to his loud breathing he was unable to hear his surroundings.
"Which way am I going, where even am I?" slowly recovering his breath, the noise he was emitting started to drop down.
"Crack"
"What was that?" hearing something snap in the distance frighted him a little.
"Bzzzt Bzzzt" "Cer Cer" Stsss Stsss"
"AHHHHHH" First he started walking again this time with a lot more pace, but after hearing those last sounds, he was now running again! looking left and right while on guard, he hastily tried to make his way through Route 1.
"Please be the right way, Please be the right way" Z was chanting this religiously, as if it was a prayer, he couldn't help but think about how Ash was nearly killed several times for the sake of the story, all for building a friendship between him and Pikachu.
This was the last thing Z wanted to happen, it was too early for him to test whether if he could respawn and he was positive all his Magikarp's would feel the same.
Yet fate had other plans, Z had gained the attention of a group of Rattata, who had decided to pursue him, and before he knew it they had caught up.
Finding himself surrounded Z had no choice but to throw out his Pokémon, luckily he wasn't aimlessly battling, he had a strategy, with the two small Magikarp in the front, equipped in each hand, and the Giant Magikarp being throw in the back, this way Z would only have to worry about the front while his back was covered with partner talking all the hits.
With his Pokémon taking their positions, the Rattata began to step back.
"I really need to think of some names for you three, I promise if we got out of this alive ill give you all glorious names, full of prestige, who knows big guy I might even call you King depending how well you do"
"Magikarppp!" "Magi!" "KARP!"
"That's what I want to hear! LET'S DO THIS!" Starting off with a battle cry, Z started to provoke the Rattatas Infront of him, one taking the bait charged at him.
"oh, that looks like Tackle, take this!" knowing Tackle was just a normal physical attack, were the user charges and slams into the target with its whole body, it wasn't a crazy strong move, but it was enough to do the job.
Seeing the Rattata about to fall into his range, he lifted his left hand holding the middle weight Magikarp, when the moment was right he slashed it downward landing a strike on top of Rattata's head.
Unable to withstand the force of the blow and the weight behind it, the first opponent Z and friends faced was down in one shot.
"Alright who's next!"
Seeing their buddy fall, lit a fire amongst the Rattatas, now all of them charged at him at once!
Z could now be seen slashing repeatedly, one after another fell, until they started changing their strategy.
"IS THAT QUICK ATTACK!" distracted by the front, he was hit by another Rattata in the side.
Having been hit on an angle, caused his body to twist slightly, leading him to realize the situation in the back. The Biggest Magikarp had taken a beating, besides being covered in blood, he could see Rattatas trying to feed on it. Needing to know more of the situation, He instinctively yelled out "Status" to get a grasp of its HP yet was surprised to see despite how dire the situation looked he had only lost 10 HP, putting him on 15HP.
Knowing how abnormal his partners defense and size was, he could not help but wonder 'Is there bleeding damage?' it was the only thing to make sense.
Regrettably Z had much to learn, with his back turned and his mind off wondering, he was leaving himself exposed, with to many openings presenting themselves, Z was getting hit in all directions and unlike before, Z was really feeling the reality of his mistakes.
"AHHHHHHH, DAMNIT" embracing the pain, he launched a blind assault, swinging like a mad man in a fit of rage, by the time he came to he was standing over a bunch of Rattatas, while the remaining group had stepped back.
'I don't think I can take much more of this' Panting he looked down at his body, he could see himself infested with wounds and covered in bruises, the brand-new cool clothes his mother had bought him was now in pieces, his hat, he had no idea where his hat was or when it vanished. Besides himself, his partners looked exactly the same, the main concern was seeing how he definitely killed some of those rats, unmoving covered in blood laying on the ground.
'I cant risk it, I need to find a way to escape' knowing the battle was going south, he immediately decided to retreat while the group was still staying back.
"Great work guys return!" two of them were returned to their balls, then Z started to run.
"MAGI?" one Magikarp was confused to as to why he was still out, hadn't she had fought just as hard as the others.
"Don't think I didn't notice the extra HP you still got, you can't fool me that's not your blood"
"MAGIIII!" she was not pleased
"We don't have time to argue, If I die you die, don't forget that! NOW STOP DISTRACTING ME!"
The Rattatas on the other hand didn't give chase, it was almost like they were waiting for something.
