"BEASTBOY!"

The door rattled from someone's knocking.

The changeling jumped up in a startled fashion, then stumbled to the door.

At least he tried to.

The boy fell off the bed, unable to walk, and remembered his present form.

He squirmed on his belly to the entrance of his room.

The door swooshed open, revealing an infuriated Raven. Her hands were crossed about her chest, and a deep crimson concentrated in her silver cheeks. Her pair of violet eyes were unblinking and coated in rage.

Not to mention, things started to levitate in Beastboy's room.

"What. Happened." she leaned in with now white, flickering eyes.

"L-listen I can explain! It's jus' that you're always—MOOOOO!"

"What?" Raven furrowed her angular eyebrows.

She sighed, and finally saw the full picture.

Beastboy had zebra legs, the torso of a sheep, the arms of a fish, rabbit ears, the eyes of a snake, and the beak of a bird.

"Pfffft! Haha!" Raven couldn't help but fall into a pit of laughter, "Have you SEEN yourself!? HA!"

"Yeah, I have." Beastboy managed to say.

"Rings of Azar, this is hilarious. What happened anyway?" her upturned mouth resumed to a firm frown.

"You're always reading so I was curious as to why, ya know? I was wonderin' why—CUCK-AAAW! You are so into books so I tried to see if they were interesting. I opened—RIIIIBIT! A book with no title and the only thing I could read ended up—meeeee-oooow, doing some magic on me."

"Oh, Azarath." Raven shook her head with a dull smile.

She had to admit it was impossible to stay mad at her friend when he had such an absurd appearance.

"How did you—woof! Know I—"

"For one, the book was left on the floor. And the pages you were looking through had some evident amount of pizza grease on them."

"Yeah, hehe, that explains the pizza the boys and I had last night."

"Plus, I just know when someone has been in my room." Raven stated confidently.

"Figures."

Starfire happened to be trotting down the hallway when she heard the ongoing conversation going on between Beastboy and Raven.

"Friends, is everything okay?" the alien princess questioned.

"Define "okay"." Raven stepped to the side and disclosed Beastboy.

"EEP! What has become of our friend!? Robin! Cyborg!"

"Shhh! Starfire, don't create excitement!" Raven hushed harshly.

"Sorry," the Tamaranean covered her mouth in shame, then whispered, "but what has happened to Beastboy?"

"Long story short, he went roaming into my room, opened a book, and cast a spell on himself."

"Oh dear." Starfire frowned.

Robin and Cyborg came rushing down the hallway.

"What's up, Star?" the half robot's face was full of concern.

Starfire moved to the side, just like Raven had done before.

"What is that?" Robin asked.

"What? You mean who is that, and that is Beastboy." Raven asserted.

"I know... like... what is he? He's a rabbit..." Robin's masked eyes nearly crossed in confusion, "a zebra... a bird... his eyes looks like a snake's..."

"And to put icing on the cake, every time he talks, he seems to mimic sounds of other animals. So far I've had the honor of hearing a cow, a bird, a frog, a cat, and a dog."

"Beastboy. I told. You. Not. To. Go. In her room. And mess with her stuff." Cyborg facepalmed himself in frustration.

"Oooh, so you had the privilege of a warning too?" Raven pursed her lips.

Beastboy nervously gazed back at Raven through his snake-like pupils.

"Alright, so the question is how are we going to go about this?" Robin queried.

"Conceivably, Beastboy requires medical attention." Starfire suggested.

Robin agreed, "It wouldn't hurt to check on him to make sure he's alright."

Cyborg picked up his hybrid of a friend and the team made their way to the Medical Bay.

"Heart rate's steady, his blood pressure took a small but not alarming increase, vitamins are intact..." Robin began.

"And his genetic code seems perfectly fine. After all, Beastboy's body is going through constant change since he has unstable genes." Cyborg declared.

Raven theorized, "Okay, so I'm gathering since there's no real physical harm done to his body, this is merely a magical effect. Which means, since Beastboy's current condition was caused by magic, it has to be undone by magic as well."

"Friend Raven, it looks as if you are the only one capable of performing such a thing." Starfire commented.

"Yeah, Raven. How are you going to do that?" Cyborg interrogated.

"Casting another spell on Beastboy will do him no justice, it might worsen the effects. The only option I can think of right now is to make a potion."

"And how long will that take?" Robin quizzed.

"I'm not too sure. This spell appears to need a lot of work to get Beastboy back to normal."

"It is only a bit puzzling to me how his genetics seem completely untouched, but his body shows otherwise." Starfire pronounced.

"Yeah... magic can be a very sticky area." Raven's eyes scanned over Beastboy's body.

He waved his fins and snorted like a pig.

"You gotta give it to 'em, B. This is actually a pretty sick combo. Imagine all the butt-kicking you would do in this form?" the half robot chanted.

"Do not encourage his stupidity." the empath puffed.

"Okaaay, alriiiiight."

"Dude, I can't even stand-- ggggrrr... up... neeighhh! Correctly." Beastboy mustered.

Cyborg chuckled in amusement, and everyone glared at him.

"Sorry, sorry. I can't help it." his lip quivered as he attempted to suppress another round of laughter.

"Alright, so I guess I'm taking him into my room?" Raven sighed, feeling disappointed all over again.

The Titans nodded their heads in agreement.

The dark Titan walked over to Beastboy and teleported them into her bedroom.

"Do. Not. Touch. Anything." Raven demanded, making her teammate rest on the bed.

"I won't." the changeling spoke hastily, hoping another animal sound wouldn't come out.

"It's more for your sake than mine, at this point."

Raven glided over to her bookshelf and began to search through the book Beastboy touched the night prior.

"This book is weird. It has no title, and honestly I am not too familiar with it. I've probably only read it one or two times."

"So the book I—moooo! Decide to touch you have— hisssssss— little to no experience with? My— oink! Luck." Beastboy tried to frown, but he was unable to do much with a beak for a mouth.

"Yep, this is great." Raven rubbed her temples, feeling stressed.

"I'm—ribbit—sorry, Rae."

The girl's purple stare switched to her friend's. Just in that one second she had a plethora of emotions flowing through her.

Raven sensed the remorse Beastboy had for her, and understood it as sincere. She knew that fragile voice like the back of her hand. The shapeshifter was truly sorry for his actions. In addition, he hadn't found the topic humorous as of yet.

As well as the tender nickname he called her.

Being that Raven had difficulty in expressing her emotions, all of the sensations she was feeling jumbled into a ball of confusion.

She wasn't used to the rare tingling, warming sentiment in her cheeks, the softening of her amethyst eyes, the jittery feeling in her stomach, the accelerating of her heart, the clamminess growing on her hands... it was all so uncommon for Raven.

Despite that, Raven grew a liking toward this bizarre cluster of emotions, since it made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

She drew her hood down with a forgiving smile, "It's okay, Beastboy. Thank you for owning up to your mistake. That makes everything so much easier to handle."

"No problem."

"Don't worry, I'll find something to reverse the effects. The potion may take a while to make, so you're going to have to sit tight." Raven returned her focus to the book.

Beastboy shifted, feeling uncomfortable in his current state, "I can't even—me-ooow, play video games in the—mooooo, meantime."

"You can't do anything for the time being, but I promise I will try to find the cure as quick as possible."
