ElfinHat96: A reader from Wattpad I see. Hmm, well, the series will follow the seasons as closely as possible, so there will be a bit of fighting, but each book shall have its own ending...

Mysteries

Wu sighed as he held the Sword of Fire within his grasp. Of all the things to survive the eruption, the blade was not a welcome sign. "Master Wu?" Wu paused in the hallway, his gaze shifting from the blade to the origin of the voice.

"Cole." Wu began, tightening his grip upon the blade. "What is the matter?"

The Master of Earth sighed. "We're down a member and the Serpentine are still out there." Cole held himself tightly, the situation they found themselves in wasn't pleasant. "What are we suppose to do?"

Wu thought for a few seconds. "Hmm, truthfully, this is a situation I have not found myself in before." Wu turned, ready to leave. "For now, I have another matter to tend to."

Wu watched as Cole left, no doubt to think over things. With a sad smile, Wu opened the door before him. Stepping inside his room, he set to work, resting the Sword of Fire upon the nearby table.

Slowly, Wu got to his knees. "Ray, my old friend, I promise you, I will protect Nya with all I have."

Nya sat silently, her mind elsewhere. Kai's death hovered over her head. It stung, knowing her brother wasn't with her anymore, there to aid her, comfort her in times of need, or simply be there to look after her.

A heavy sigh escaped her lips, destiny could be a cruel mistress. Yet where had destiny been when there parents were taken, when she and Kai had been left to fend for themselves? It was as if destiny had it out for her family.

Her internal rage flared a fire within, a fire she wasn't aware she held. When she saw her hands, she gasped, falling to the ground with shock. Her hands, they had been on fire, yet the flames were harmless to her.

Slowly getting to her feat, Nya started to wonder, why had destiny not forsaken Ninjago? If her family were to suffer, why not others as well. It didn't feel fair, she now controlled that which belonged to her brother. Perhaps Wu would have the answers to her questions.

As she neared her door, she paused, glancing over the samurai gear, had she been destined to be Samurai X, or was she meant to be something else, something greater…

Skales slithered along, leading a small troop of Serpentine in investigating a strange message. The forests were unusually quiet, something wasn't right. "Keep your eyes peeled for something…" Before he got any further, a voice cut him off from above.

"Or someone."

Skales turned, searching for th origin of the voice. Yet he could not find the source. "Show yourself!" He demanded.

A figure dropped form above. He wore the same shoulder armour as the ninja, with samurai styled body armour. A red obi rested around his waist while his helmet covered his head, the mask left only his eyes visible. The figure twirled a spear in one hand, the other hand unmoving.

"I'm hurt Pythor couldn't be bothered to meet me in person." He remarked, voice masked by the helmet. He slammed the base of the spear into the ground, tilting his head ever so slightly. "I must say, sending his right hand isn't much of an improvement."

Skales hissed as he felt his spare fist clench. This samurai mocking them, unphased by the fact that he was outnumbered. There was something unknown about him, he knew something they didn't. "So you are the one who sent the message."

The samurai chuckled. "Why, you don't suppose I get should Pythor's attention in another way do you?"

The Hypnobrai general shivered slightly, whatever it was about this samurai, he left a feeling of unease, of caution. It was as if he could turn on you in the blink of an eye. "Why did you have Pythor send me all the way out here?"

The samurai moved, hoisting the spear onto his back. "Why, I have a proposition for Pythor, one of mutual gain." He paused, eyeing the others closely. "Of course, I will only speak of this proposition with Pythor, not his right hand."

Skales weighed his options, if his hunch was right, this samurai could prove beneficial to Pythor's plans, but if he was wrong, then the Serpentine could be facing another obstacle in their path, one he wasn't sure they could deal with as easily as the ninja.

"I shall see if Pythor is willing to meet in person."

The samurai nodded. "I look forward to his response." He turned to leave, shifting his attention to the trees. Pausing momentarily, he looked over his shoulder. "And refer to me as… Kajinek."

"Master Wu."

Wu turned, his attention drawn to Nya. "Nya, what do you need?" He questioned, noticing the way Nya held herself. She seemed to be eyeing her hands closely, paying attention to them.

"Do you know if I might also control fire?"

Wu hummed in response, walking towards Kai's younger sister. "In my time knowing both you and your brother, I noticed something. The two of your are very similar in your behaviour." He began, observing Nya's form. "You are both clam like the oceans yet swirling with unparalleled anger like fire."

Nay shifted her feet ever so slightly, holding her arms tightly. Such information was not new to say the least, but the way Wu put a new light on it was unique. "What do you mean?"

"What I mean is, both you and Kai possessed the powers of both fire and water, I am unsure why or how this came to be…" Wu trailed off, pausing before Nya. "But you must learn to control not only the water, but the fire as well."

Wu sighed, turning around. "Kai would've wanted you to have this."

Nya held back her shock, tears threatening to flow free at the sight of the sword. "The Sword of Fire." She spoke barely above a whisper, tears slowly falling down her cheeks as she took the blade from Wu.

"I made a promise to your father that I would be there for you and Kai, I have failed to fulfill that promise to him." Wu started, resting a hand upon Nya's shoulder. "However, I will not let his family legacy end so suddenly."

Wu narrowed his gaze. "It is time to I took a more active role in protecting my godchildren, it is, what your parents would've wanted."

Cole turned, watching as Wu emerged onto the deck, Nya trailing behind him. He took note of the Sword of Fire in Nya's grasp, something was up. "Master Wu?" He questioned, drawing the attention of the others.

Wu turned, his gaze sweeping the ninja. "Hmm, yes, I suppose an explanation is in order. While we have yet to determine who the green ninja is, another discovery has been made. Both Kai and Nya are unique."

Slowly, Wu faced Nya. "Both are able to manipulate and control not only fire, but water as well." Wu shifted his gaze once again, eying the ninja once more. "While I have nothing left to teach you, there is much I must teach Nya."

Lloyd chose that moment to burst in, his eyes full of alarm. "Uh… we got a Serpentine sighting near the Fire Temple."

"What could the Serpentine possibly want with that place again?" Cole inquired, moving to stand beside Wu.

"The Fang blade, it was not destroyed in the eruption." Wu realised, turning to face the ninja. "Move, quickly, even if we get our hands on one of the blades, it will prevent Pythor from unleashing The Great Devourer."

Cole nodded, the ninja racing ahead. Wu turned to face Nya. "Nya, while our lesson never got underway, I suggest you head out with the ninja as Samurai X, they will need the backup."

Kajinek stood tall, watching Pythor silently form his perch above, having had enough enjoyment watching them search for him, he decided to grace them with his presence. "I'm glad my message got through."

Pythor turned. "Ah, you are who Skales called Kajinek."

Kajinek nodded. "Why, off course. And it just so happens, that I have a proposition for you." He slowly pulled the Fang blade from his back, watching Pythor closely. "Found this little thing floating around the lakes nearby."

A snap caught his attention, turning his head ever so slightly, Kajinek smirked. "We have guests, uninvited guests." He warned. "Come out, come out, ninja."

"Who are you?" Cole demanded, emerging with his weapon at the ready.

Kajinek smirked behind his mask. "Someone who has a rather personal vendetta against your little team." He teased, backing away slightly. "Besides, I have a deal to make, and you are in the way."

With the Fang blade secured within his obi, Kajinek drew his spear. "Come now, let us see what you are made of." With surprising speed, he raced forward, bringing his spear forward.

Cole moved quickly, diving to the side. Only for a gasp of shock to escape his lips as Kajinek kicked him back. Zane swiftly landed ahead of him, moving to engage this new foe.

Kajinek moved swiftly, avoiding Zane's strikes with an elegance unnatural to one so armoured. With a series of moves, he landed behind the Master of Ice. Kajinek quickly adjusted his footing, avoiding Zane's next attack.

"Perceptive one aren't we, most likely a sixth sense. A shame it won't help you here." He observed, twisting his body, leg kicked back as he launched into the air. With a mighty kick to the head, Zane went flying back, slamming into a nearby structure.

Kajinek glanced around the area, searching for Jay. "Now, where is that elusive Master of Lightning, I heard you could use some aid in the humour department."

A burst of lightning narrowly missed him. A smirk quickly formed as Kajinek leapt back, his gaze falling onto Jay. "There you are, not so elusive now, are we?"

Jay raced forward, quickly spinning around. Kajinek did a series of backflips. With his one hand, he pushed himself into the air, landing atop a rock. "Spinjitzu huh, a shame you're not the only one who can do such an art."

Leaping forward, he spun fast, a tornado of black fire licked the air. Small sparks of a fiery red shot broke off as he clashed with Jay. The Master of Lightning went flying as Kajinek flew in the air, their tornados faded.

Landing with a thud, Kajinek quickly kneed Jay in the stomach before headbutting him to the ground. Resting an armour boot upon his chest, Kajinek knocked the Nunchucks of Lightning from his grasp. "Fast, yes, skilled, not so much."

"Let him go."

Kajinek turned, his gaze focused upon Nya. "Ah, the samurai. What a pleasure, a shame that I have other matters to tend to." He taunted, pushing back as he leapt over to Pythor. "What do you say we take this meeting to someplace, isolated, and secluded?"

"Hmm, indeed." Pythor agreed, his forces pulling back as a helicopter hovered above them.

With a final glance at the ninja, Kajinek followed Pythor. "Till next time, protectors."

Cole groaned, shaking his head as he watched the Serpentine helicopter fly away. "Who was that guy?"

Oh the plans I have for this series, oh the horrors that will come the ninja's way. Well, let's just say, that to be a soldier of darkness, one must first, become its herald.

Regarding Nya and her training, most of it will take place the same time Lloyd begins his training.

We get into the events of All of Nothing next chapter...
