Two Years Later:

Atlantis:

I was head of SG Team 4. I had ranked up to Lieutenant during my time on Atlantis. I had also become one of the better pilots involving the Jumpers. I generally got along great with Colonel Sheppard and his team and knew that they had wanted me to be a part of there team just by how well I got along and everything I knew about. In the whole time I was on Atlantis, I would email Gail once a week, letting her know that I was okay and that she didn't have to worry this week. Most people on Atlantis hadn't been able to email there family but because Gail had Top-Level Security Clearance, she was allowed to get emails from me.

Being a Lieutenant in the Air Force meant that I had many more obligations then I did when I had just joined. I had proven myself very useful when it came to flying the Jumpers and F-302's. I also learned of another skill of mine; getting in and out of tight spots better than anyone else on Atlantis. Ronon seemed to take a liking to me as soon as I freed myself from a wraith's cruiser by hacking there computers and stealing information before fleeing the ship in a Dart, which I found out I was able to fly very easily. The people of Atlantis seemed to know that my blood was of a rare form, since not only could I survive just about anything that was thrown at me, but I always seemed to find a way and that always suited me nice.

My team and I were the ones, besides Colonel Sheppard's team, that Woolsey called to do the tougher missions. We had a knack of using whatever weapons we could find and it was more of a game (sometimes) than it was work. When I was told that I would be going back to Earth on a stopover mission with Colonel Sheppard and his team, my first instinct was to go see Gail. All I wanted to do was see Gail and I knew that she would want to see me. I emailed her saying that this week she didn't have to worry about me. They gave me an hour to pack what I needed to bring with me and then we left on the Daedalus, headed back to Earth for some unknown reason. I found out on the way home what the reason was. They needed me to be a liaison between the 15th and the Military. This was going to be hard to get Gail to agree to but I had a job to do.

Toronto, Canada: Gail's Point of View:

Cassie had been gone for two years and even though I got emails every week telling me I didn't have to worry, I still worried. Nobody at the Barn knew about my Top Level Security Clearance and I had hoped to keep it that way. My friends had all watched her that first day two years ago come in and give me the DVD saying she would email when she could. They had all watched as she left and had watched me sit down and look at the table. It had been two years since I last saw my sister and I wasn't expecting to see her for a few more years since the DVD had said that she would be gone for a maximum of five years.

When Cassie walked into the Parade room with a group of very military looking people, all decked out with weapons vests and weapons, my mouth dropped open. In the two years she had been gone, she had ranked up fast, being good at her job. She was now a Lieutenant and the moment I saw her all I could do was stare at her. She looked different than when she left, in a good way though. The people she was with I assumed worked with her. Cassie moved through the rest of the officers and the new rookies that had come in that year. I stood up and we hugged for a good five minutes before she pulled away asking to talk in private. I nodded.

We left the Parade room and went into Frank's office since he said we could use it. And then the real story as to why she was back fell out of her mouth.

Talking:

"It is good to see you Gail. I have missed you something terrible these past two years."

"Something terrible huh? You live in a city that has to this day only been a legend here on Earth and you missed me? If anything, I should be jealous of you but I'm not. You could have come home sooner and asked me to come back with you. That would have been fun."

"Well, I'm here now. And you and I are about to become the liaisons between the 15th and the Military. I need your help on this one Gail."

"Why, what does the 15th have anything to do with your group of Military personnel?"

"You guys recently were handed a serial killer case that ties into what we are doing."

"You mean the guy that drains his victims of blood and leaves there shell like bodies for someone to find?"

"Yes, that's the guy, only we believe that there are two out there and that they are hiding in Big Nickel. We have evacuated the town to be on the safe side but we need people that know the area to help us look for them."

"And that's where the 15th comes into play. What kind of killers are they if they tie into your neck of the woods?"

"Because the two that we are looking for ain't human that's why. We call them the Wraith. And they eat humans as food. You guys stumbled upon a can of worms and since you're trying to find them, they are trying hard to stay off your radar. We have a device that will show us where they are hiding and where they are taking there victims before they eat them. They use their hand with a slit in it and shove it onto the person's chest and suck the life out of them. It's a really painful way to die and if you don't have someone backing you up, say have a gun to the Wraiths head, and then they won't be able to give you your life back. We've had a lot of dealings with these creatures and we know what we are doing when it comes to killing them. I need your help in telling the 15th that we need their help in catching an alien species before it does any more harm here on Earth. So what do you say?"

"Depends."

"On what? Gail you have Top Level Security Clearance. In order for us to tell them, they also will be getting Top Level Clearance. In fact, Colonel Sheppard is in the Parade room right now getting them to sign the papers. They are waiting for us to return. The second I took you out, the papers were handed out. Please, Gail. I'm letting you into a world you've barely ever known about. Please get them to help us catch these creatures."

"Fine, on one condition."

"What is it?"

"You come home in uniform and let mom and dad know that you are safe. Mom knows I've stayed in contact with you and despite cutting you out of their lives, they do worry about you. They do want to know if you are safe."

"Don't you talk to them? Gail they cut me out of their lives, why would I want to go back to them? Can we talk about this later?"

"Fine, we'll talk about it later. We should probably get back in there."

"Yes, we probably should. Come on."

Cassie and I walked back into the Parade Room where Frank proceeded to give me a packet of papers to sign. I ignored him & walked with Cassie to the front of the room. Cassie looked over at Colonel Sheppard who nodded at both of us to say what we had to say. The 15th looked from Cassie to me and before we continued, Frank spoke up.

"Hey, wait! We all had to sign the package saying that we wouldn't say a word and giving us Top Level Clearance. Peck should have to sign the same thing we did."

"Gail doesn't have to sign it. She already has Top Level Clearance. I was allowed one person to tell what I was doing in the military and since Gail and I were so close, I chose her. Besides, my parents cut me out of their lives when I chose not to be a cop. Gail never cut me out. She's known where I've been this whole time. Which is what brings me to tell you this: As of right now, your serial killer case is being taken over by the military. You will have access to it and be allowed to participate in helping catch the two involved, but the military will take the responsibility in dealing with them. As soon as they are caught, they will be transported to our ship hovering in orbit above the planet and disposed of. They will be killed. They don't get the right to live. And it will just be another step in defeating them all together."

"Why kill them? And what do you mean by defeating them?" McNally asked.

"We are going to kill them because in the Galaxy I have been stationed in, they are at the top of the food chain, not the humans. We are there food, plain and simple, they eat us. They are over ten thousand years old, mostly live in space and have the means to clone themselves. They take over a Galaxy and cull the planets within that Galaxy, leaving the people running and hiding at all times, not knowing if or when they will attack next. They don't need what we do. They don't need meat or milk or fruits and vegetables. They eat us, we are there food and whether you like it or not, they can not be allowed to live here on Earth."

"What if we try to reason with them? What if we make some sort of deal with them, like a treaty of some kind? Would they leave us alone then?"

"NO, Earth is already among the Protected Planets and has become the Fifth Race in this Galaxy alone. Humans are the food source of the Wraith, we are what they eat. I was just a little girl when they took my father away from me. They hunt us down and cull the number of people they need to eat. Then they go into a sort of hibernation and sleep for a designated amount of years, letting the populations of the planets regenerate before coming back out of their sleep and starting the vicious cycle over again. They will not listen to your deal or treaty. They will break it the second they have a chance to do so and within two days, Earth's population will be reduced to a mere handful of people across the world. They cannot be able to make it to this Galaxy. Earth is the new feeding grounds they are looking for. It is far richer in humans than the whole Pegasus Galaxy put together. If the Wraith Armada makes it to Earth, then you will be fighting for your right to live in a world that doesn't exist anymore. They will take over the world and basically have you living in caves or underground." Teyla said.

"And if you are lucky to survive, and I have to stretch the if, you won't be for long. If you are caught, and they don't wish to eat you, you'll become what I once was." Ronon said.

"And what was that?" Williams asked.

"A Runner; they surgically implanted a sub-space transmitter into my shoulder blade after destroying my homeworld and killing those I loved. I was a Runner for seven long years before Colonel Sheppard and Teyla found me hiding on a planet that was hotter during the day than it was during the night. The day was at least 400 degrees every day and burned your skin and made you sick if you stayed in it more than an hour or so. There have only ever been a few Runners, ever, and they know that Earth only has two Stargates and know that the people of Earth can not get to the gates or even try to get to them since the gates are in secret military bases that are hidden on this planet. You are not alone in this galaxy or universe and you probably never will be, but we need your cooperation in dealing with these beings and getting them off Earth before they have a chance to signal more Wraith to this planet and wiping the whole people out for good."
