Hibiki is already a fun character, I hope to make him great.
"Hello Hibiki, I am Detective Tsukauchi. It is nice to meet you, even if I wish it was under nicer circumstances."
Hibiki turned to the man, who was rather tall at almost six feet tall with a kind unassuming face that made it hard for him to not trust the man. He couldn't help his small smile as it was. "Hello, sir."
"So, what brings you here?" The man looks at his arrest file, and sighs. "It says you beat two boys and put them in the hospital... anything to say about that?"
"Why should I say anything, not like you'll believe me. You'll see that I'm quirkless and ignore the truth like everyone else does." He muttered that last part, angry and hurt... he almost missed the man's broken hearted anger.
The man reached forward, grabbing Hibiki's hand. " I assure you, I would never do that. I take my oaths seriously, I refuse to hold anything against those I am sworn to protect. Stuff like being Quirkless doesn't mater to me. If you have a good reason to have put them in the hospital, like you were protecting someone... or yourself, tell me. I have a quirk that, even though I am not a hero, I am allowed to use. I can detect lies and truth, it is a useful enough ability. If you are telling the truth, I can protect you." His smile was so reassuring, Hibiki's stubbornness melted.
"I... they were hurting Izzy, my brother. He's my twin, he's Quirkless too and kind of weak. He won't stand up for himself, others sure, but never himself. It's my job to protect him since no one else will, not the other kids, or our teachers who sometimes encourage the abuse. eThe boys beat him up, and busted his lip up and fed him dirt... I smashed their faces in, like All Might would a villain. They were villains to us, to him... "
The man's smile shifted, becoming far warmer. "Sounds like you are your brother's hero then... have you considered being a hero?"
"I'm quirkless, it was hard enough to find a middle school that would accept me let alone a highschool that will...'" he leaned in and whispered. "But yes, it is my dream. My Brother's too. I, I like helping people. I always have. Being a hero, saving people... it would be a dream come true, but it's just that, a dream."
" Nonsense, you'll just have to be the first Quirkless hero and show everyone is wrong. I know U.A. doesn't require a Quirk for entry, you could go there."
" Do you really think so?"
"Sure... but to be honest, this arrest will make things harder... tell you what, if you go to anger management and start doing something about your temper outside of school, I'll keep this off your record. Maybe you can learn self defense, so that you can express your anger without actually doing damage. Maybe start working out too, that would help you get into U.A."
Tears prickled at Hibiki's eyes. "You'd do that?"
"I can tell you are telling the truth, kiddo... I know you are a good person, you were just dealt a poor hand and your trying to make the best of it. I will arrange for you to get a good therapist. I'll give you my number so we can stay in contact. If you do all of this and continue to show promise, I'll personally recommend you into U.A. and yes, I can. I am not saying this to sound cool but I am actually good friends with more then a few Pro heroes and I know Nezu. Trust me, he'll let you into recommendations if I do that."
Smiling at the memories of Tsukauchi, Hibiki felt himself relax entirely as he packed away his books, ready to leave school and go to Taekwando practice. True to his words, Hibiki had gotten into a great anger management class and had made real progress. He wasn't perfect, but he wasn't beating people up left and right. Tsukauchi regularly chatted with him, at least once or twice a month, monitoring his progress. The man had came to a few of his Taekwando tournaments, of which he won most, cheering him on. It was a heart warming sort of thing, unexpected and great.
Hibiki had changed a lot in the two years since that day. He started jogging daily, lifitng weights, learning Taekwando obviously, and studying hero battles with his brother. Though they were twins and had started out looking the same, Hibiki was now far thicker with maybe sixty pounds of more muscle that he hid under his loose and baggy clothes. His hair had gotten longer too, with a loose braided falling down the back, and curls falling onto the front of his face.
Most of all he had calmed down, becoming more comfortable in his skin. Life was good, his mom was happier with him and he hadn't even gotten a detention in a year and a half! People left him alone, rarely associated him with Izuku and never attacked his brother in front of or near him. He just felt like life was really reaching a peak for him, one he hoped stayed high for a while...
Finished packing, he left the room, waiting for his brother by the door ( he always walked Izuku home before practice), he heard Bakugo's annoying voice growl out.
"I don't know what you think you're doing, Deku, but we're not done."
"What you got? His diary?"
"Huh?! don't tell me you're taking notes on how to be a hero?!"
"That's so pathetic."
"Haha. He's delusional."
Gritting his teeth, Hibiki resisted the urge to break some faces. It took everything he had not to charge in and beat some ass, something that would likely get him expelled or worse. 'Come on Izzy, stand up for yourself, you want to be a hero... show some spine!'
"Yeah... Real funny guys. Just give it back." Midoriya said before an explosion, obviously from Bakugo sounded off. There was no scream so that meant that Izzy wasn't hurt. "That's so mean."
"Most first string heroes show potential early on. People look at them and just know they are destined for greatness. When I'm the only student from this garbage junior high to get into UA, people will start talking about me like that. They'll realize I'm legit, the next big thing. That's not my ego talking. I just know I'm that good."
"Ego."
"Here's a word of advice, nerd. Don't even think of applying or else. That's just sad. I thought you would have at least some fight in you."
"He finally gets it. He'll never be a hero. Better find now then later, I guess."
"You know if you really want to be a hero that badly, there's actually another way. Just pray that you'll be born with a quirk in your next life and take a swan dive off the roof of the building."
Everything went red and Hibiki charged in.
:::
Bakugo knew fear the moment Hibiki charged into the room, the look of utter loathing was too strong not to feel such an emotion. He reached out, a blast on his fingertips only for the hand to be knocked aside and a strong kick to slam into his face. He fell back as a punch slammed into his diaphragm, knocking the air from his lungs and making his vision waver. He struggled to remain concious as a force slammed him back again and again until he was backed up against a window.
"What was that Bakugo, take a swan dive? Maybe you should take your own advice. I doubt you'd be missed much, most people here hate your guts. I am sure your parents would be relieved to have a monster goenne from their lives." The soft growl of Hibiki's voice was a reminder of how close he was to death, he felt the cool air behind him from the window and knew the boy was crazy enough to toss him outside. "You will leave him alone and never approach my brother again or I will spend the rest of my life reminding the world, including U.A. how much of a villian you are by showing you personally how much of a villian I am willing to be. Are we clear?"
He had to be careful... while Deku had no backbone, his brother was all backbone and would kill him to make a point. "Fine..."
"I mean it, Bakugo, even the tinniest slip up and I will crush you. I am more then willing to be arrested again if it means crushing you. Try me, I dare you." There was a long silence before Hibiki pulled away and tossed Bakugo away. "Get out of my sight, you disgust me."
Bakugo growled but was smart enough to recognize a losing fight. Quirk or not, he had never won against Hibiki. He was vicious, hit hard and hit low... there was no point in trying.
"Whatever..."
:::
Barely calming himself, Hibiki turned to his brother. "You okay?"
"You didn't have to do that." Izuku whispered.
"Yes, I did... I have to get to practice, we're running behind today... you need to walk yourself home. Can you manage that?"
His brother nodded. "Have fun!"
"I'll try, Izzy... be safe, okay? I am not in the mood to be arrested I am more then willing to to protect you."
" I know, you always are Hibiki."
"Love you too."
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was so much fun to write, I am getting used to him so expect smaller chapters til I get a groove...
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
