When Naruto woke up, he felt pain everywhere, most especially his eyes and his hands, making him hope that the damage was not serious. Slowly opening his eyes, he could tell that he was not in Konohagakure anymore, mostly by the smell of saltwater and roses, and then there was the water slightly moving his body along the beach that he washed upon. He looked at his hand that was in front of him and clenched it slightly, feeling the pain before sighing. 'Kurama, are you there?' He asked before attempting to stand, only falling on his butt because he was not used to his new height. "Yes, kit. I am here. Slightly exhausted, but not much else. I guess the seal took my chakra to make sure that you made it through wherever it took us." Kurama said, making Naruto sigh once again before looking around from where he was sitting because it looked like he would not be able to walk for a little bit.
He was correct about being on a beach, but not any that he has ever seen, and he has seen most of the Elemental Nations. The beach was pure white, glistening from the water and the sun, and there was no trash anywhere in sight. Looking out to the water, he was surprised to see the ocean-going on for miles behind him. He was in such a trance, that he almost didn't feel the shinobi walking towards him, almost. Naruto quickly turned around and saw two shinobi making him freeze, while the sight of shinobi would not normally make him freeze, even if he was in a bad situation, it was the symbols on the Hitai-ate that they wore.
The Uzushiogakure symbol, the Uzumaki clan symbol, his clan's symbol, the clan that has been wiped out for at least a few generations.
"Hey there little fella, what are you doing so far from the village?" One of the shinobi asked, making Naruto a little nervous, what was he supposed to say? 'Yeah, sorry. I just woke up here from being thrown back into the past.' He didn't think that would cut it. Another thing is he looks nothing like the two shinobi in front of him the last time he checked since most Uzumaki's have red, brown, or orange hair while he has yellow. "Not anymore. As soon as I sensed their chakra coming towards us I changed your DNA to be more like your mother's. So now you have blood-red hair and violet eyes. Sadly I had to almost completely remove the DNA of your father. You also don't have whisker marks on your cheeks anymore." Kurama said, making Naruto feel a little more secure that the shinobi was not going to kill him thinking he was a spy, and sad that he was not related to his father anymore. "I don't know…" Naruto said, a little surprised at how high his voice was.
At his answer, the two shinobi looked at each other and nodded. "How about we go see someone and see if they can't help you remember." The one that has not spoken yet asked, making Naruto look at him. After feeling no negative emotions from either of the two shinobi, Naruto nodded shyly, making one of the men smile. "Here, let me carry you." The man said before picking Naruto up like a princess, making Naruto's face blush and the man laugh.
On the way to wherever they were going, Naruto was talking to Kurama, trying to make up an alibi if it is needed. It also seemed that Naruto was now the age of 4, so that meant that not much would be expected for him to know. 'Anything else I need to know about my body that you changed or something else?' Naruto asked Kurama making him sweat-drop. "Well, you will now be able to use the Chakra Chains and be able to take chakra from anything that is impaled on them to add to your own or to heal you. Also, since you have me sealed in you, you are an empathic sensor, meaning you can feel emotions and chakra, so even if someone hides their chakra from you, you can still sense them. Of course, this at the moment has a very low range, but you can make it bigger as you grow." Kurama explained making Naruto hum slightly in his mind.
'I guess that makes sense, but what about you? Mito is supposed to be your jailer at this time right?' This made Kurama sigh but nod. "Yes, that ningin was my jailer around this time, and I can even feel the other part of me in the land of fire. Okay, here's what we are going to do. Since I am no longer sealed in you anymore, the seal was destroyed, I just stay because you are the nicest I'll probably get. So we don't have to worry about that as long as you don't use my chakra. The hard part will be to make Mito put my other half into you instead of your mother. Lucky for you, I know what Mito wanted in the next jailer. She wanted someone strong of mind and body, someone who could hold me back and not be afraid, and someone that had unique chakra. Lucky for you, you have all the traits." Kurama said, making Naruto breathe a little easier.
Soon enough, the small group entered the Kage Tower and went straight to the Uzukage himself. "Uzukage-sama, we found this young boy washed up on the beach just a few moments ago. He does not know how he got there, however, he is a pure-blooded Uzumaki." The shinobi carrying Naruto said while setting the small boy down. The Uzukage looks at the boy and could see the Uzumaki blood running through him, letting him know that he was really an Uzumaki from birth and not experimentation.
"Hello there little one, can you tell me your name?" The Uzukage asked, making Naruto freeze, he wanted to keep his name, as it was given to him by his parents, but he also wanted a new identity. In the end, he decided to keep his original name. "Naruto." He said quietly, making the Uzukage chuckle slightly. "Alright, then little fishcake." At this small comment, Naruto felt his Uzumaki temper get the better of him. "It means Maelstrom! Not Fishcake!" He yelled in anger before remembering who he was with and covered his mouth with wide eyes. However, the Uzukage, that Naruto still didn't know the name of, just laughed and rubbed his head. "Yep! Definitely an Uzumaki! So then little Maelstrom, how old are you?" Happy that he was not in trouble, Naruto slowly lowered his hand from his face. "I turned four a few weeks ago!" He said, making the Uzukage nod.
"Do you know how you got to the beach? Aren't your parents worried?" The Uzukage asked, making Naruto slightly tear up. "I don't remember, I remember momma and pappa screaming and running. Saying something about whirlpools, before pappa stopped and told momma to run. She dragged my arm to the water, it really hurt. She kept telling me to swim, to swim, and do not to stop. I didn't want to leave momma, and pappa was still behind us, we had to wait for him. But momma pushed me into the water and did something with her hands, it made the water push me far away. I remember momma crying before running back to pappa, so that means that momma and pappa will be here soon! They said that we were going home, that pappa was done with traveling, is this home?" Naruto asked, making the Kage and the two shinobi in the room feel their hearts break for the young boy.
The older three knew that his parents were probably already past the Veil, but they didn't want to tell the young boy that his parents were never coming back. The fact that the boy remembers so much already is astonishing. The Uzukage knelt and hugged the young orphaned Uzumaki, feeling once again the loss of a family member, but also feeling proud that the boy's parents managed to get their child back to his home, even if they knew that they could not. "How about you stay with me until they get here, that way when they get here, you will be the first to know after me." The Uzukage said making both Naruto and Kurama start for a moment. "Really?" Naruto said, his eyes glistening with an innocence that made the old Kage feel his heart constrict. "Yes, really. My name is Aito Uzumaki, nice to meet you Naruto Uzumaki,"
