Alright, second chapter, I'm making progress!This was just an idea I had for a quest, I'm not super creative for these ideas, so that's why they all resemble each other, but here it is anyways.

The party slowly made their way through the dark corridors of the dungeon. Kirito was farther in front due to his spriggan night vision, and Asuna was next to him holding a light-casting spell for the far, no monsters dared to attack the fact, no monsters were to be seen anywhere. After a while, Silica spoke up."Where are all the monsters? I thought that was the point of the quest."

"We must not have triggered the signal for their attack yet." Kirito offered.

"Daddy seems to be correct," Yui explained, "None of the monsters appear to have loaded in yet.I'm not sure where the trigger is however."

Ten minutes of wandering later, the group was starting to get , Yui finally managed to locate something of worth."Daddy," She called tugging on his ear."You see that beam of light over there?" Sure enough, there was a single opening in the ceiling that casted a single beam of light on the contrary to the pitch darkness currently around them."That appears to be a critical event, that means that the beam must be the mission trigger!"

"Good catch Yui." Kirito complemented her as he went to investigate the him, the rest of the party gathered around to see for themselves.

"Is this the trigger?" Pharis asked.

"Looks like it," Asuna replied."I'm not sure how we actually trigger it though."

"Hmm, maybe someone needs to stand on it?" Lance calmly observed.

"Good luck getting someone dumb enough to trigger that!" Ander said with a laugh."It'll probably kill whoever steps on it! Ha Ha"

"Ander, go trigger it." Lance said calmly.

"Son of a bitch," Ander remarked, but nevertheless began walking seconds after reaching his destination, the lights came on and the monsters did indeed begin spawning. These monsters were modeled after were covered in dark amber armor and they carried varois weapons ranging from axes, to swords, lances, crossbows, and staves signaling they were magic based they finally finished assembling, their numbers appeared to be in around sixty to eighty of them. Normally the sight of so many monsters would call for a larger number of players, luckily, every player here was a vetern with these kinds of while most players would take caution, these players got fired up for a battle.

"Get ready everyone!" Kirtio called drawing his twin swords. Being up front, he began the quick slashes, he quickly disarmed three soldiers in five then leaped back and with a quick swing, destroyed them all. The other soon began their assaults on their opponents as well. Klein dashed towards two monsters and slashed their weapons away, this was followed up by Liz and Ander striking and slashing them with their mace and back-handed sword. Furo wielded a scythe towards three lone monsters and knocked them all back. Leafa then activated her magic wind needle attack and finished them off before drawing her sword to engage an approaching beast. Agril dashed towards a small pack of monsters and heaved his mighty axe four times to defeat was moving like a monster,slashing, stabbing, and vaulting over the beast faster than they could react. Asuna and Silica were standing a bit further back to not only heal any battle damage their party might take, but also protect their archers. Sinon was taking slow, yet accurate shots at their opponents, every arrow hitting its target. Lloyd, on the contrary, was firing off shots rapidly and hit his targets about sixty percent. Mareick didn't have a weapon, however he was unleashing several dark magic attacks that engulfed his enemies. Lance was picking off a group of five troops and seemed to be holding his own. It seemed that this challenge was too easy for the heroes…..

That is, it was too easy until the second wave of monsters launched."Mommy!" Yui, who was now nearby Asuna, exclaimed." I detect a second wave of monsters approaching from the rear!" Turning around, Asunsa saw about forty additional monsters, this time wasp based, attempting to surround the group. Because of the sheer size of the room, and the frantic nature of the battle, it was almost impossible to shout a warning off to everyone at once.

"We need to move!" Asuna yelled drawing here rapier and quickly dispatching two monsters with quick jabs.

"Where?!" Silica cried, fighting off an attacking beast." Those mages made it too hard to see anything! No to mention, even if we move forward we'll run into the monsters in the front!"

"Alright listen up!" Lance called out in a voice filled with previously absent command." Mareick and Lloyd, stay here and assist me from a distance. Everyone else, take care of the monsters in front of us and finish off any beast I let pass. ready?...Break!" Before anyone could comment, Lance rushed off to fight the south-approaching monsters. Several blasts of energy collided where he once stood so no one could follow him.

"Is he insane?!" Sinon called over her shoulder in between shots," He can't fight that many monsters by himself!'

"Don't worry, he'll be fine!" Mareick assured them before firing off some magic attack towards the enemy."Just deal with the monsters ahead of us first!"

Despite having their doubts, the rest of the party reconfigured itself via Lance's , Silica and Sinon moved toward the foremost group of monsters, while Lloyd and Mareick stayed where they were. Asuna,using her trademark speed and nickname "The Flash",raced through the battlefield to find the vaulted over advancing enemies and destroyed the ones that got too close. Eventually, she made it to Kirtio's side."About time you got here." He said calmly with a smirk when she did.

"Well excuse me, I was busy dealing with the forty approaching monsters coming from that side!" She said pointing back,"But hey, sorry for not breaking the sound barrier to come say hi!"

"Yeesh, knew this part was too easy, alright! Give me a sec." He dashed forward and slashed up four more quickly spun to his right and raced towards Furo, Liz and Klein who were up against a hefty mix of however, the four of them were quick to dispatch their opponents. Asuna rushed to the left with the same idea and came to the aid of Agril,Pharis, and again, they quickly reduced their opponents to particles of most of the forward advancing monsters had been killed off and the players turned their sights to the south approaching foes, however they were met with very little resistance on that front as well.

"Lloyd, where's Lance?" Asuna asked, confused at the lack of with the monster's smoke covering the field, some of the approaching forty monsters should be visible.

"Over there," Lloyd replied as if he were and Mareick were told to cover this side in case so monsters broke through Lance's turned out not to be a problem.

The mystic smog began to lift as more monsters fell, Lance slashed his broad sword through two monsters, he then turned his attention to one lifting it's axe and slashed it monster lunged for him with it's spear aimed squarely at Lance, who grabbed it with a gauntleted hand and threw him toward three approaching the airborne monster collided with it's comrades on the ground,Lace used a powerful swing that obliterated all four at monsters managed to sneak up behind him and struck with two fast slashes that left red gashes on Lance's did not slow him in the slightest however, and in on quick motion, slashed clear through both of final monster charged Lance, brandishing it's shield and a jagged took a step back and gripped his sword with both hands. It then began to glow a bright greenish-yellow. Once the entire blade was enveloped by the glow, He charged the monster and brought his weapon down on it's shield. Normally when a sword made contact with a shield, the shield would be stronger and repel the ,Lance's sword shattered the shield and essentially flew through the monster, effectively ending it.

When the final monster broke into blue pixels, Lance took a deep breath and sheathed his then took out a health portion and drank it to replenish what he lost in battle. Once that was done, he noticed everyone was staring at that, Lance smiled sheepishly at them and said,"Uh,Ta da?"

"Um, wow that was…..wow!" Asuna said in awe."That was forty monsters!"

"Yeah well, I kinda specialize in monster clearing, ever since my time in Aincrad that is."

That caught most of the party's attention."You were in SAO?!" Liz demanded.

"Yeah, I went in under the same handle as I use now, Mareick and I usually stayed on the bottom floors but-"

"Mareick you were in SAO too?!" Silica asked in astonishment

"Oh yeah, I um… I was a lower ranked blacksmith.I never really went into battle."

"Why didn't you say anything?" Klein asked in astonishment. Most SAO survivors were quick to identify with each other, especially when playing other games such as this. The fact that he hadn't said anything was odd to say the least.

The rest of Mareick's friends stayed quiet as he explained.``There was no real point really. I mean, I never met any of you, I've never been to any boss fights or anything, so yeah. I didn't want to make that the base of us meeting."

"I get it," Kirito stated fully understanding why Mreick didn't want to bring it days even he didn't want to remember his time a minute, he turned back to Lance."Were you a part of the K.O.B?"

"No, I was in a freelance monster clearing guild." He replied as he and the rest of the group walked through the now open slaughtering the rest of the monsters, the door opened allowing the party to move on to the next challenge.

"Do either of you go to the SAO survivor school?" Asuna asked.

"Well Mareick does," Lance said with a chuckle,"I'm twenty three so I'm, you know, in college."

"Oh right!" Asuna giggled,"Well when this is over we can try to meet up."She looked like she wanted to say more, but the sight before them caused everyone to fall silent. The room was much larger and most of it was shrouded in they could see was a maze like structure somewhere around fifteen feet below tall pillars in a diamond formation towered over the maze, each adoring a bright searchlight that dozens of enemies seemed to be hovering were also smaller lanterns within the maze source of light seemed to have some bug monsters circling around it.

"Wow!" Pharis breathed, what do you make of this?"

"HHmmm, looks like those searchlights serve as attack beacons so when players enter the maze, the enemies know how to find them."Sinon observed.

"But if we destroy those lights, those guys will probably swarm us." Liz warned.

"I can hit the farthest one," Sinon assured her."Though I don't think I can hit them all before they get here." There were lanterns by their platform, therefore when the other lights went down, the players would be swarmed in seconds.

"If you could hit the furthest one, I could hit the rest." Lloyd stated as he prepared three arrows.

"You sure?" Kirito asked skecpitly. Most archers could constantly only hit one target at once, some could hit were often a crapshoot.

"Lloyd may not be the best when it comes to single targets, but when it comes to multiple targets, he's unmatched."Lance bragged.

"It's a trade off for not being capable of hitting something directly in front of him." Ander joked.

"Ask him to hit something four feet away and his toast!' Furo laughed at his brother.

"But guy's, don't ya know? He can hit multiple enemies that makes up for otherwise failing at being a basic archer." Mareick continued.

"Yeah, watch me hit three jerks." Lloyd said as he brought his bow towards his mocking all had smiles on their faces, so it was clear it was a joke.

"Alright, settle down everyone."Asuna advised,"If all the torches go out we'll have to head into the maze, so everyone memorize the route you'll take."

"We should probably split up when we do," Liz suggested,"That makes us harder to hit."

"Good suggestion,"Kirito answered,"Everybody ready? 3…..2…...1,Go!" At that,Sinon used her famous marksmanship to hit the furthest light source, meanwhile Lloyd fired three arrows at his hit or miss track record with single shots, all three arrows managed to hit predicted, the bug monsters, no longer distracted by the light, attack the ledge the players were , they would have, but the players leapt to the ground and zoomed through the they were split up, the monsters had no choice but to follow suit and for them, most of their strength came from numbers and the monsters were slowly picked away .Kirtio slashed a monster directly in front of him and dashed toward the memorized he did,Lance fell in step next to him.

"Hey," he said sheepishly,"You know, I never thanked you for…..you know."

"Oh, yeah." Kirito replied as he truly didn't think himself as any kind of hero, however the other SAO survivors had another opinion of the matter. "I mean I just did what anyone would have done.I mean beating Heathcliff was-"

"No, no,"Lance interrupted as he vaulted over a monster, and then slashed it."I mean….from that Suogo guy's experiment."

"Oh," Kirito said, recalling that two hundred SAO survivors were said to have no memory of Suogo's kidnapping and experiments of on the report of what was done, maybe that was for the best."Don't mention it."

"Right," Lance remarked giving the thumbs the two made their way through the maze, they would often pass the others on their and Liz barreled through two monsters directly in front of them. Silica and Pharis used wall running to reach some flying monsters and sliced them up. Mareick, Asuna, and Ander fired off magic attacks to create some room between their opponents. Klein and Sinon dealt with four bugs with ease. Agril spun his axe in a wide arch to unleash massive destination on his ran along the walls and sliced through three bugs, then fired off some magic to fry the fourth.

Eventually, the entire group managed to find their way to the they reached it, they were met with the token large doors to the boss chamber."Everybody ready?" Asuna was met with a chorus of affirmatives."Then let's go." With that, the group opened the doors and began the mission.

So second chapter, yeah!This was much to say here, so….yeah.I didn't mention Mareick being in sao cause I knew I wanted Lance to be from there too.I hope he didn't come off as the traditional sao survivors oc's in these stories, basically Kirtio with a different random bit, I watched a bunch of the original RWBY and my view of anime style combat will never be the on that, what kid of weapons would the SAO cast have if they were in RWBY? It seems almost every weapon doubles as a gun or something, so I could easily see SInon with a bow that doubles as staff or me know what you think.
