Any and all criticisms are welcome here, to see and make this great and epic. I want this to be amazing and loved and interesting...

Keep in mind that people lie, bluff etc... Liam is no exception. I am learning this style of writing too, so that helps... I reallly hope you enjoy it. I did.

It took a secret trip at night for Liam to make and grab the igrediants he needed to cast a protection spell over his Foster Parents home. Roses, Sage, Blood as before with mugwort, a lot salt, an eagle feather and some quartz ground into a fine paste in a leather pouch and buried onto the property. He felt the protection wash over him, the powerful spell rippling across the property like a monsoon. No one with negative intentions could act on them here, except him, no one could enter with mystical blood without his say so, and all powers were mitigated...

"Thank the Spirits." He sighed and nodded, sending a mental prayer outwards towards the Spirits that gaurded, guided and helped all witches. They were afterall the ones who taught him magic, he would forever be grateful for that. "Now, should I put a protection spell on Bella's house? Can I? I mean, can I put up two spells, both bound to my will... I have never put up two wards like that, not ones that big... sigh, this is going to be exhasting. I need to cast a peace spell too, just to make sure the vamps behave themselves. This is going to be tough."

Not at all satisfied, he quickly returned to his room, proud that he remembered to put a sleep spell on his foster parents, keeping them down until he could safely manage his potent magic.

Flopping in his bed, he considered and groaned as silently as possible, whinning about just how much work he had to do.

"Where am I going to cast that peace spell? It will have to be somewhere central, with lots of vunerable people... maybe the highschool? I could cast the spell there, but it would have to be in secret, and at night. That much magic would linger and mess then technology, and might attract unwanted technology. I need to be very careful about this... fuck me, this is going to be exhausting."

Deciding it was for another day, he turned over and quickly fell to sleep, lulled into comfort by the intensity of his crafty spellwork.

"Forks Highschool... god's it's small." Groaning, he ignored any eyes on him and marched into the school. It took him all but five minutes to find the front desk, get his paperwork and hurry to his first class. Everyone seemed amazed by him, awed at the new kid... it was a touch weird, but since he was feeling antisocial it was an easy thing to cast a notice me not spell, inspired by Harry Potter naturally, and move about his day. He had more important things to worry about...

Vampires!

He could feel them, their cold dead auras filled the school. It was two of them, Alice and Edward, and they were both powerful with witchy magic ingrained in them. He could tell they were gifted... and that scared him. He wondered what gifts they had, no two witches ever had the same innate gifts. His power, the first in his family, was proof of that. He could siphon pain from anyone, embracing what they were too weak to experiance. He was tough, he could handle it even if most others were not.

It was around Lunch time that he found the vamps, lingering like normal kids at a table with, you guessed it, Bella sitting at the table. Canceling the Noticemenot spell, he decided the easiest option.

'I wanted to see if they were safe, so fuck it. I guess it is time to meet them.'

And so he walked to the table to meet his doom.

""

Alice noticed his delicious scent before he walked into the cafeteria, the delicious scent of Citrius and Cinnomin. It was a delightful mixture that seemed to effect even her brother, who actually stiffened for a moment, looking at her in shock. With the most quiet whisper, he uttered the words. "No wonder you are so effected, he smells almost as nice as Bella."

She nodded, hiding her fears as the boy walked towards their table with a smile. "Hiya Bella, Alice. Do you mind if I sit here? Do any of you?" The boy's voice sounded strange, layered with itself in a way no human could notice but seemed to rippled out and effect the humans at the table bar Bella who frowned.

Mike, naturally, smiled back at the kid. "Not a problem... hey are you wearing perfume? Something fruity?"

"Why does I smell good?" The boy smirked a little, leaning in towards Mike with something almost flirtatious in his eyes as he sat next to Bella. "And no, it's my natural musk. I get that a lot." The boy turned to her then. "Sort of like how Alice and Edward smell really nice, some people just smell good. Genetics are odd like that. I heard it was a predatory sort of thing... or comparable immune systems..." the boy pushed his fingers together for a moment, before pulling them apart, causing a wave of what looked like heat to ripple off of him.

Mike, Jessica, Angela, Ben Eric, Conner, Tyler, and Lauren all seemed to go quiet in more ways then just their voices. They actually went glassy eyed, dull of expression and almost vacant.

Alice immediately went into panic mode. "How did you do that?"

"You weren't affected, I figured you wouldn't be. Not only are you a vamp, your also a powerful witch even if your untapped... anyway, I guess I should explain. My name is Liam, I am a High class witch and I want to make sure you aren't a danger to everyone here."

Impressed that he was going to upfront route, Alice leaned in. "You might want to be careful, humans have poor hearing but your kind of loud."

"Spell will keep us from being overheard for at least ten minutes. Now, can I do a reading on you or do I have to bring some fire into your lives? I can and will kill you. Trust me, your not a match for my powers. A whole coven of vamps wouldn't be, even as Gifted as you are. I've already layered myself with enough spells to kill you all."

Genuinely worried, Alice focused on the boy and realized with some horror she couldn't see his future. Edward snarled before she could stop him. "And why should we tell you anything or buy what your saying?"

The boy smirked. "Don't and see what happens."

Bella sighed. "What do you mean reading? And why wasn't I effected by your spell... I'm not a vampire. And Witches are real?"

"IN order, I can read your aura to determine your diet, the kind of person you are etc... your a witch too, a very powerful one with an insanely potent gift and yes. All vampires ith powerful random abilities stem from their witchy mojo, untapped of course, being magnified when they turn. Every witch has some innate gift, somethign they start with that defines their path. My is pain siphoning, which allows me to take pain from others and endure it for them. Yours is?"

Her beloved freind frowned. "My mind... people can't read it."

"You mean one of these two? Their auras are witchy."

Edward leaned in. "I can read minds... but not yours."

"Protection spells. I am immune to any lesser witch, which you are compared to me. Bella with training might actually surpass me, which is insane. I don't mean to brag but I am very powerful. The Spirits, of witches past that guide and protect us in this modern world, say I am a class five which is the strongest. I'll get to that later, if we become friends. But for now, can I read you? I don't make idile threats ,but I need to know."

"Read me." Bella said, outstretching her hands. "What do you need?"

"Just silence and your hands. The whole palmistry thing actually has roots in real magic..." The boy grabbed Bella's hands. looking at them while Alice watched. His eyes softened. "Your a good person, with a lot of love to Give and your magic is potent. I would be honored to teach you, Bella... I really would be. I trust your judgement, I can tell you have a powerful love for these two. Are they good?"

Bella nodded. "They are... and so are you." She blushed when they all looked at her. "I ... I saw something when I felt his magic, something warm and comfortable, touch me. It was strange... I know your trustworthy too."

"That was your magic sensing me. I can teach you to harness that... now can I read one of you?"

Alice put her out her hands, trusting Bella. "If this ends this issue, I would be happy.

The boy smiled at her, making her chest ache ever so slightly but in a good way. "Lovely." He grabbed her hands and sighed, before a beautiful, very real smile crossed his face. He seemed almost awed and she knew he saw something great. "Your like Bella, lots of love to give but more ruthless. You'd kill to save your loved ones... you will fight to the death for them... you are strogner then you've ever been given credit and you have a potent gift... I know you feed on animals. Does your entire coven do this?"

"Yes."

"I trust you then... I would like to meet them, if you don't mind. All of them. I am sorry for the threats before, but as someone who's seen the potential brutality of your kind, it does well to be cautious."

Alice could not fault the boy, the scar of James' brutal attack lingering so purely on Bella's wrist only proved his point. "It's fine... I admit, I am interested in your powers and how they relate to mine... I can arrange for you to met my family."

The boy pulled out some food from his bag. "Great... anyway, my spell is about to end, so we can chat later. Here's my number, call me and we shall met your family. I am really looking forwad to meeting veggie vamps."

Liam still planned on casting his peace spell, but now he was not so worried. What he saw and sensed in Alice and Bella, it gave him hope for the future. He knew they were great people, a little self absorbed maybe, but good. He could trust them and that meant the world to him. He would need allies and this could be what he needed. He was glad he went the Opaque route and just was open.

Too many would have pussyfooted around and not read their palms for knowledge, he was glad he did. It solved so many problems...

He would be happy to met her family and learn if they were all to be trusted... and if they would call him out on his bluff. He was powerful sure, but in reality could he kill them all... he doubted it. His protection spells were great but they cost power and frankly, against Vamp speed no witch was safe...

He had to be careful... and hope no one called his Bluff... on that or his lack of battle experience. He shuddered at the mere thought...

Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.

This was fun to write.

I wanted to subvert the idea of instant war. Upfrontness is great at times.

Love, your Ninja Overlord,

Mika.
