New Paths to follow
Chapter two
Colonel Robert Baskins had arrived home at the beach house with his wife waiting for him having packed his things. Rose Marie had gotten the word from the Nelson Institute that her husband's team was heading for a rescue mission on the Seaview once again.
Heads were going to be battling. Since it's been over a year she had divorced her first husband, Captain Lee Crane. It was going to be interesting to see just who is going to win the battle on board the submarine and the race to get to Alaska to find the scientists.
She had finished packing his things. While the three boys were outside in the back playing with the nanny. She was worried for the most part when her husband walked in with an expression she knew well.
"I heard Robert. You're all set for the trip," she exclaimed.
"I just don't like this Rose Marie with having gotten the call from Admiral Nelson of the Institute. Leaving you're ex-husband in charge of the institute still needs getting used to after all of these years as Captain of the Seaview."
"Please don't go down that road again Robert? I don't wish to have that man get between us right now. I just want you and your team to do their job with helping out with the running of the submarine and the rumor that there is someone that is on board to try and stop the rescue."
"Maybe that is the real reason as to why we are going along with Nelson not giving the truth to everyone. I need to change my clothes before saying goodbye to the boys." he cried out with his response.

Alaska ice basin
The ice basin once again had moved slightly with the fault line shifting. While the scientists were caught inside the small cavern bubble with enough air to keep them alive and well for now. They were able to scoop up the ice chips from the walls of the cavern inside.
Since they had been inside. The doctors had begun to explore the cavern to see if they will be able to find a way out of it without killing themselves.
Doctor John Waters age 56 and his wife Samantha began to head inside further with the linings of the cavern crystalline to see inside without straining their eyes. The others stayed back for now in order to wait it out with the Seaview along with other vessels on its way.
There was no outside noise at the moment. Though there had been some close calls with the fault line shaking the cavern bubble. It was only a matter of time before they all die for a number of reasons.
And John was hoping that soon the Seaview will be arriving or any other vessel to try and get them out for the most part.
Moving deeper inside all of a sudden his wife jumped when she saw some type of a crystalline creature crawling along the walls to have her husband pushed her away. "Probably some type of crystalline living force?" he said with forging ahead unless more of those creatures get into their way.
"I have never seen anything like it John?" she exclaimed with using her chipper to dig out a sample of the crystalline on the cave's wall and placed it into a silver container.
Moving some five hundred feet. They were amazed at what they saw was a small crystalline lake. It was too bad they didn't have a raft of sorts in order to cross to the other side and investigate it further. "Admiral Nelson would love this?" John said to his wife before indicating with heading back to the group and give a report.
Moving out slowly out of the section with more of the crystalline. John and his wife had reached back to the group to let them know about the crystalline creatures.
"Doctor Mendez, do you think these crystalline creatures might have some type of life within them?" John sitting on the ground.
"Possible! Since we have never seen these types before. Unless they decide to make contact with us at some point?" Doctor Mendez had to say with taking a sip of the water. He has been with the couple for ten years working on a number of projects over the years. And including for the Nelson Institute and the Navy.
"What we need to do now is all of us try to get some sleep leaving a guard." Doctor Waters needed to say to the group to keep them motivated.

SEAVIEW
Colonel Robert Baskins was walking down the steps inside the control room looking for Captain Charles Morton. Chief Sharkey helped him down with taking his belongings to his quarters, along with his team. "Captain Morton currently is in the reactor room. He asked me to escort you and your team to the quarters on C deck," he said with a calmness in his demeanor.
"Sure enough Chief. And what about Commander Lee Crane?" he had to ask with the importance of the question.
"Hasn't arrived as yet, however, I received a message from the radio shack saying that he's going to be here within the hour."
"Thanks, Chief." Colonel Baskins said with following him through the aft hatchway of the radio shack.
Meanwhile, Commander Stanley Kowalski and his brother were in the control room checking the different positions while the Seaview will be leaving for their rescue mission.
Younger brother Kowalski was standing next to his older brother asking about the situation with the marines onboard the submarine. "I really don't know since it's none of my business with Lee Crane coming along as an observer, as with the marine team and Colonel Robert Baskins." he wasn't going to say anything else on the subject at hand. When all of a sudden when Lee dropped his belongings onto the floor. As he came down the conning tower.
Commander Stanley Kowalski came over to the observer Lee Crane in his uniform. "Welcome abroad Commander Crane. Your usual quarters are waiting for you?" he said with a neutral response.
