Right after Infinity War
Thor didn't move. He couldn't move. He stared at the space Thanos had been. He couldn't breathe. He couldn't breathe. His thoughts... he couldn't think, he couldn't kriffing breathe. He fell to his knees and broke down. He cried. Hard. Steve ran to him, kneeling beside him, resting his hand on the god's shoulder.
"I'm..." Thor couldn't breathe again. He hid his face in his hands as he sobbed. He couldn't breathe. His chest was so tight. He sobbed as he broke down fully unable to breathe, hiccuping and sobbing uncontrollably.
"I'm so sorry, Loki," he sobbed into his hands. Bruce and Nat and Steve stood around the muscled god as he sobbed. Tears roll down Steve's cheeks, and they glistened in his beard as they fell. Nat gently reached out and took Steve's hand. Steve squeezed her hand tighter than he probably should have, but she didn't care.
The Avengers slowly left, headed home. Wherever home was. Thor stayed where he was. He stopped crying hours later, when he was sure he has cried all the tears his body had. He looked up at the stars. It was midnight by now. He stood, reached his hand out, and Stormbreaker was in it in a second. He flew to the small apartment. The building he knew so well. He pushed the door open.
He walked up the flight of stairs, to Room 205, and knocked hesitantly.
Seconds later she came. She opened the door. Her long brown hair was a wavy mess and unbrushed. She stumbled back at the sight of him. She said nothing as she turned, and walked back inside. She didn't invite him in. But she didn't close the door behind her. He walked in after her.
The house was empty. No Darcy. No Erik. Just Jane. She walked to the kitchen. She poured coffee into two mugs, taking one for herself. She didn't offer him the mug. But she left it there for him. He took it, and sipped it.
"Jane," he whispered his voice breaking. She looked down at her mug.
"You weren't there," she whispered.
"I'm sorry," Thor replied, his voice hoarse. She shook her head.
"Little late for that," she muttered. "What do you want?"
"You," Thor barely whispered Jane blinked and then met his gaze.
"What?" she asked.
"You," he replied. She blinked.
"What?" she asked.
"Jane, I'm so sorry" he took her free hand and kissed it gently. Tears filled her eyes.
"Why?" she asked. "Why weren't you there?" she whispered. He pressed another gentle kiss to her hand.
"I'm so sorry, Jane" he whispered.
"Why weren't you there?" She yelled pushing him away. "I WAS GETTING, A FUCKING NOBEL PRIZE, AND YOU WEREN'T THERE!"
Thor's eyes filled with tears. "I'm so sorry," he said again.
"Ha, sorry? LITTLE LATE FOR THAT! I CRIED! I WAS BROKEN! AND YOU DON'T GIVE A SHIT!" Thor stopped in his tracks, setting his mug down.
"Jane, please"
"PLEASE, WHAT? I'M NOT THE ONE THAT RUINED THE RELATIONSHIP!" she screamed, tears falling down her face. Thor pulled back, tears rolling down his face too.
"Jane..."
"OUT!" she yelled. Thor blinked. And turned and left.
My dear reader, some say that Thor went crazy the day Thanos snapped, some say it was after Loki died, some say it was when he lost his mother. But, my darling, I believe, that Thor went crazy the day his girlfriend kicked him out.
A/n: So, that happened lol. I think I'm going to do a few different versions of this one, maybe some that end happier. Thanks for reading!
