"Bonjour, France," greeted The President at his office. France returned the greetings with a smile, "Bonjour, Monsieur le Président."
Only both of them in the room this morning. France wasted no time taking a chance to meet his boss. "What's news you have to come here this early?" The young President read the nation's intention immediately. France wouldn't want any other way.
"I would like to go to London tomorrow with you, Monsieur," France said bluntly. The President was quite surprised.
"What's the occasion?" he asked with raised one eyebrow. Appearance-wise, both of them didn't look so different. Therefore, they choose to be a bit casual with each other.
"We will have a private discussion with England and his Queen."
"Discussion about what?"
France silenced which confused the President more. The nation walked closer to his boss and whispered carefully in his right ear, "England is pregnant."
"What?!" He was in disbelief. France summarized to the boss about his conversation with England yesterday. The President still looked shocked, "You are the father of Monsieur England's baby?"
"Oui," France smiled proudly then back to serious mode, "That's why we need to discuss it with him and The Queen about the matter."
"I get it, I will fit it into my schedule tomorrow," said The President.

England stepped into the private garden of his boss. He wore a grey formal suit, a white shirt, and a tie of the same color. A bit nervous, he found The Queen sat at her favorite spot under a tree with a full tea set ready on the table in front of her. It was tea time.
She wore a white long sleeves dress with a matching hat. "I've been waiting for you," she said without turning her back towards her nation's personification, "Mr. England."
"I apologize for being late, Your Majesty," England humbly spoke. The Queen ordered him to sit and he complied. They sat face to face with his boss. "Have a tea," she offered. Both of them sipped their tea in silence. No one said anything. Several seconds passed with the wind playing gently before the Queen broke the silence first.
"I've read an unusual report regarding your health, Mr. England," The Queen started. Their eyes met. She continued, "I doubt Dr. Reed has been making a mistake. However, the report describes your unique condition. Do you agree?"
England replied, "Yes, Your Majesty."
Heavy silenced present while they only stared at each other. Again, The Queen broke this silence with a simple question, "Is it true?"
It was a fact but England still found it hard to talk. His worries from his talk with France yesterday remained. Despite that, he admitted solemnly, "Yes, it's true."
The Queen sipped her tea after said softly, "I see."
"My humbly apologize, Your Majesty," England said with a deep frown. He closed his eyes tightly with regret written on his face. "It is not my intention to have a wild night and make this mess. I apologize for my shameful behavior. I do not know that there is the possibility of this may happen."
The Queen gaze into her garden as she looked back into her memories with a little smile, "I remembered, I was quite surprised when my mother introduced us after the coronation ceremony. I've heard about your existence since my uncle has been the King but I rarely saw you. Being a young Queen at that time, I didn't get the whole meaning of your existence as my country. I've thought that you are like my people. In a sense, yes, you are my people."
Her calm voice changed into solemnity, "But, you are different. I've realized it in the last decades you've been by my side." Her gaze back to England's green eyes. "You still look like the first time we've been first introduced," she said gently without any mockery or ill intention. "At that moment, I've become fully understand that you are special."
The nation was stunned.
"Mr. England," she called him calmly. "I know your history by heart the moment I stepped into my coronation ceremony decades ago." She smiled warmly, "I have no doubt of you, Mr. England, and I don't blame you."
"Your Majesty..." England was touched by her words.
"Therefore, please, don't blame yourself," she continued gently.
England remembered decades ago when the coronation ceremony being the sign of his new boss has been chosen. The young woman, who became a Queen after the death of his father, was so strong and kind. Even after all those years. She shared England's burden to protect their people like they were best friends. Despite her was the boss. Somehow, England felt a heavy burden on his shoulder being lifted and he smiled gratefully at his Queen, "Thank you, Your Majesty."
The Queen nodded once before asked, "I would like to know who is the other 'father' but... since tomorrow we will have a private meeting with the President of France, am I right to assume that Mr. France is the other 'father'?"
England blushed hard. He averted his eyes to his teacup shyly. "Y-yes, your assumption is right, Your Majesty."
She chuckled, amused by the reaction of her nation, "I see."
Confused and embarrassed by her amusement, England was curious, "Your Majesty?"
"I would've never thought I will still alive to hear that confirmation from you, Mr. England," she smiled amiably. He asked, "May I know why, My Queen?"
"As I said, I've known your history by heart, Dearest England," she still smiled, "Furthermore, I saw how both of you care for each other under those classic bantering. I thought you will need another thousand of years more to be finally together."
The blond nation blushed again and sweatdropped, "A...haha."
"Have you told him about this situation?"
"Yes, I have."
"What did he say?" she inquired. England told her about the options he discussed with France and she looked concerned. She voiced out, "I agree with him. It's too risky to terminate your pregnancy, England. If something happened to you, what about us? Since you can be pregnant, it means it's in your nature to do that. Let's not take any drastic measures."
"I understand, My Queen."
She nodded again. "So, what about Mr. France? What's his opinion about this baby?"
He blushed hard once more and flustered. "H-h-he... He said... that... he wants us... to have this baby..." England was so embarrassed but he couldn't lie to his Queen.
"What about you?" England stiffened at his boss's question, "Do you want to have this baby, Mr. England?"
Frozen, his thought went back to yesterday, when France told him about the possibility of this child may survive this pregnancy. How incredibly happy England was to hear that. The vague image of a young blond kid flashed in his mind and unconsciously, he smiled with joy as he answered his Queen truthfully, "Yes, I do want this baby, My Queen."
She smiled, "I see."
—000—
"Thank you for coming, Mr. President," said the Queen after her guests sat beside her. All of them wore formal attire and sat at a round table. Clock-wise, The Queen of England was the center, then The President of France, France, Dr. Reed, and England.
"It's my pleasure, Your Majesty," smiled the President. The Queen smiled.
"Today, all of us here to discuss the discovery we've found a few days ago," she began. "Dr. Reed confirmed that England has been pregnant. This pregnancy is the first time happen. I talked to Mr. England and we are agreed to not terminate this pregnancy. The risks are unknown."
France and England then retold their decision two days ago then The Queen glanced at Reed, "I want to know the detail of this condition. Would you please enlighten us, Dr. Reed?"
"Yes, Your Majesty," the old doctor stood up from his seat. He explained the symptoms England told him and showed the blood test results, along with the USG's photograph on his tablet. He pointed the circle on it was the fetus. "However, there is something I found odd."
"What is it?" England asked.
"Mr. England told me he has these symptoms for three or four-month. I would like to know when it happened," said Reed.
"W-when?" England blushed.
Reed nodded towards him and glanced at France, "The time this baby conceived."
"W-why?!" England was flustered. "What's the point to know when we've done it?"
"It's for the fetus estimate age," replied the doctor. He elaborated, "Normally, the fetus age is estimated by the date of the mother's last period so we will have the estimated date to deliver the baby. Since it's a rare case, I need every piece of information you can give me to figure out how we handle your pregnancy."
"Ooh," England blushed and glanced at France. "I... the last time we've 'met'..."
"Around the New Year Party, isn't it?" France smiled, England's face reddened. "We've been so busy after that so I remember we did it at the party."
"France!" England was so red like a tomato. France chuckled.
"Between these four months, have you two done it again?" Asked the senior doctor. England was shocked to receive that question so France replied instead, "Non, Dr. Reed. As you know, we have our job being a country so it's not like we can meet anytime we want. Mostly, we have time only on our days off, or holidays like New Year's Eve or Christmas. This year, I'm sure we've met last time at that party. Right, Angleterre?"
England nodded with slightly blushing on his cheeks, "He is right. I came to his house two days ago after you told me that I'm pregnant."
"Is that so?" The doctor frowned at his tablet.
The President asked Reed, "What's the odd part you mentioned, Doctor?"
All attention back to Reed who explained, "Based on the date the baby is conceived, which is roughly around 1st January this year, the baby should be 14 or 16 weeks old. Instead, it's only 8 weeks old."
France caught on implication and frowned with concern, "Are you saying the baby has stopped growing?"
"What?" England turned pale, "Is it true, Dr. Reed?"
"I can't be sure," said Reed. He looked up at them. "USG's result has not found any complication which indicates the baby has stopped growing. Nevertheless, we must bear in mind that Mr. England is not a human so I think all of us should rule out the normal pregnancy procedure on humans so based on that mindset, I think the baby growing healthy."
"How do we continue throughout the process if we are don't know what to expect?" Inquired the President.
Reed voiced out his opinion, "I have the same worries. That's why I've done my research about pregnancy. I've asked my colleagues who are experts in this without mentioning Mr. England is pregnant. From these, there are some hypotheses I made about this situation."
"What are they?" curious England.
"If we say that Mr. England and Mr. France stay young as far as we remember, but it's doesn't mean they stay young forever."
"What do you mean?" The President asked.
"Mr. England, Mr. France," Reed asked both of them, "When was the first time you've met each other?"
"When?" England and France looked at each other, France said, "It was a long time ago... when we were a child."
England remembered it when he was a short kid with a green clock covered his body. France was older than him so he was taller when they've first met. What's the point to ask—"Ah!" He knew the reason! He clarified, "You mean we were a child first before we growing up, right?"
Reed nodded, "Exactly. Both of you growing up adult-like but you were a child first. In my opinion, you have slow aging process compared to humans. Therefore, if the baby was conceived 4 months ago but in USG it shows healthy growth even with half of the human baby age, I think it safe to say that like the parents, the baby will have a slow aging process too."
"Then, the pregnancy will need more 9 months to reach full term," concluded The Queen.
England paled, "How many months do you think this pregnancy will reach full term?"
"I have no answer to that, Mr. England. I hope we will know in the future," replied Dr. Reed.
France slightly concern, "I'm sure you have roughly guess on how long it is, Dr. Reed. I can hear it in your voice. Please, let us know."
The old man stared at both nations who looked hopeful at him before he glanced at The Queen who nodded once. "I have no evidence but if I have to take a wild guess... it may need 1 or 2 years to reach full term before Mr. England can give birth."
Both nations didn't conceal their surprise. Dr. Reed reminded them again, "It's not sure it will need that long but I doubt it will be faster since both of you have slow aging by nature."
England nodded then asked hesitantly, "What about the shape? Will it have a human-like body like us?"
Dr. Reed, "I can't be so sure but we can try to listen to the baby heartbeat after this meeting if you want. 8 weeks old, normally, the human fetus already developed the heart, the brain, and the lung."
The younger nation agreed nervously.
"What should we do with other nations? Do we keep it a secret or we share this information with every country?" asked the President of France.
England exchanged a glance with France before he said, "I think I need to tell them." He looked at France's Boss then at his, "It will be useless if I tried to hide it. They will find out one way or another so I will tell the truth to reduce troublesome questions or rumors."
"True," France agreed. "We still don't know how but if there is a possibility that other countries may experience this, we should stand together to find the reason or solution."
The Queen concluded, "I understand. We should be the host for the next world's meeting."
Reed suggested that they should do some medical check-ups with other countries after they told other countries in the world's meeting. "I would like to work with Dr. Blaise and do some tests on Mr. England and Mr. France if it's possible."
Dr. Blaise was France's doctor. All of them agreed and the Queen asked the audience if there is another thing they need to discuss but they decided to end the meeting.

"We're lucky, right, Angleterre?" France walked beside England. He smiled in relief. Thank God for their understanding bosses. Well, France didn't think his boss will make a fuss about the matter. The President was young but clever.
England sighed and nodded.
On their way to Reed's examination room, after being apart from their bosses and the old doctor, England kept silent despite France's tried to make a conversation. When they are in front of Dr. Reed's room, the said doctor already inside to prepare the machine but England stopped in front of the door.
"Angleterre?" France stood beside him. The older nation sighed at the worried face of England. He put his left hand on the younger nation's shoulder, gave him a side hug. "Nervous?"
"Who said I—!" England tried to conceal his worry.
"You know I know," France kissed his cheek. Whispered, "Me too".
Green eyes widened, he looked at France who has frowned eyebrow. "It won't give us anything but worry without knowing it," his blue eyes stared at the door in front of them. "You are not alone. I'm here with you."
I'm scared too, was left unsaid but both of them knew it.
At that moment, England felt a slight relief. France was beside him, with him, shared the same fear. That fact alone gave him the strength to pushed away his doubt and nodded.
"Let's do this, France."
Once again, England laid down on the examination bed. He bared his belly and Dr. Reed put the gel on top of that before pressing lightly the abdominal transducer. France who stood beside England was in awed as the old doctor explained to him.
"Now, we will listen to the heartbeat," the doctor pressed one button and suddenly... there is a heartbeat sound from the machine.
Thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump
So strong and loud.
Thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump thump
Three of them were stunned.

"Mr. England," Reed smiled to his country, "I'm pretty sure your baby will have a human-like body and aging processes like both of you."
England's teary eyes were inevitable as he felt huge relief went through his body the moment Dr. Reed confirmed, "Congratulations, Mr. England, Mr. France."
His baby will have a body like them.
"Angleterre!" France looked at him with a smile on his teary face. His hands gripped England's. Both of them looked at each other with the same smile and tears on their face. That moment, the realization sank in.
France said it first, "We will be a parent."
"We will have a baby," added England.
They smiled at the same time before France kissed England deeply. Joy was evident on their face.
Reed went out of the room quickly to give them a privacy.
