"Dear Cream,

The first month here in Ponyville went great. Everyone here is very nice.

I made friends with a girl named Twilight. Now we are roommates and with my job as a makeup artist I can share the expenses with her. My make-up is very popular here too, you know?

There is a pony named Rarity who literally goes crazy for my pearly eyeshadows. I mean, I'm having a blast.

I would like you to spend the whole August here. Strangely, the terrible storms that once raged in the Middle Ocean have greatly mitigated. Better that way, you can reach me without problems.

I wait for you, it will be a wonderful holiday.

Your big sister,

Amy Rose"

The twelve-year-old bunny, accompanied by Tails, has leaned on the railing of the ship and re-reads for the umpteenth time that light pink paper letter, scented with the iconic strawberry fragrance of her closest friend.

"Think about it, Tails! We'll see her again soon..."

Tails nods, but is not convinced: who knows if she will be happy to see him again, or if his presence will remind her of Sonic...

After docking and taking the train to Ponyville, the two friends arrive at the equestrian village.

Here, at the station, they find Amy waiting for them, radiant in her new dress, far too elegant but truly divine on her lean body.

"Oh, Tails, you are there too! How are you? Welcome!"

The fox is surprised, he didn't expect such a warm welcome from the pink hedgehog. On the other hand, in the old days she has always associated his presence with Sonic's.

"I'll give you a quick tour of the town, after which we'll go to the library. This is where Twilight and I live."

Intrigued, the two travelers follow her, looking around in admiration, while the wide red dress sewn with rose petals dances with each step of Amy, who to complete it all wears a pair of matching ballet slippers.

"You are truly fabulous!" Cream exclaims, with a surge of affection.

Amy passes a hand around her shoulder and draws her close.

"Thanks, Creamy."

Tails looks up: there are various Ponyville residents looking out the window or on the balconies. Most likely, they are not used to visits from foreigners, much less from another continent.

After a short walk, the three arrive at the Golden Oak Library. Amy opens the door:

"Twilight! I'm back! I brought my friends!"

From the corridor that leads to the entrance room, a small purple figure peeps out, a little dragon with a green comb and big, curious eyes.

"Hello! You must be Amy's friends. I'm Spike, Twilight's younger brother. Very pleased to meet you."

"You are really cute, do you know?"

The dragon, focusing his attention on Cream, from whom the compliment came, blushes conspicuously.

"Oh... Thank you."

"This is the first time I've seen a dragon."

"The same goes for me. There are no foxes, hedgehogs or rabbits in these parts."

At that moment Twilight arrives in the room.

"Welcome! I hope the trip was enjoyable. Amy has told me a lot about her life in the Acorn Kingdom, and I would like to visit it myself, even in the company of the Equestrian princesses."

The lilac pony is very beautiful, with long, straight, night-colored hair streaked with purple and fuchsia and eyes that are as bright as amethysts.

"Twilie, your brother should be here in half an hour." Amy reminds her, looking at the cuckoo clock.

"Yes!"

"I will finally meet the famous Shining Armor! You know, not a day goes by without Twilight telling me some anecdotes from when they were little!"

The pony smiles, and around half past ten in the morning, Twilight and Spike's older brother Shining Armor makes his triumphal entry into the library. He has a white fur and hair streaked with azure and cobalt, like the sea pierced by the rays of light.

His eyes are blue and proud.

He is not alone, however: behind him a tall and slender mare reveals herself, equipped with horn and wings. She has long, well-groomed hair and a regal look: Cadance, his marefriend.

Great is Twilight's astonishment when she finds out: her nanny could become her sister-in-law! The girl begins to jump joyfully around the room and Amy laughs at seeing her so happy, even if a single glance at the couple of lovebirds is enough to pierce her with a treacherous arrow, which wounds her heart leaving a trail of melancholy and envy… Who knows how Sonic is doing, if he is happy with Sally and if sometimes he misses her...

Tails, who knows his friend well, has caught her gaze and his cerulean eyes darken: as he suspected, Amy couldn't have forgotten Sonic in just two months.

"Guys, I have organized a lunch with my friend Applejack at her farm, would you like to join us? Don't worry, she is informed of your arrival!"

At noon, Twilight and Amy's group heads to Sweet Apple Acres, where Applejack lives and works.

At the entrance of the estate there is a beautiful blonde pony, with orange fur and bright emerald eyes.

"Welcome! Ahm Applejack!"

Twilight grins as she sees her friend shake Tails and Cream's hands vigorously, as she did with her and Amy. Sweet memories…

Shining Armor and Cadance also make the introductions, and shortly afterwards the guests are led under a large gazebo, where the table is already set.

Tails and Cream are happy to have also met Big Mac and Apple Bloom, Applejack's siblings, as well as their paternal grandmother, Granny Smith.

It is a pleasant and breezy summer day, where they talk about everything:

"Do ya want more grilled apples, Tayuls?" the grandmother asks.

"No thanks. I can't have another bite!" replies the fox, beating his belly with one hand.

"Everything is beautiful here! I'd love to bring Cheese!" Cream exclaims, ecstatic.

"It's true! I can never thank Twilight enough for introducing me to new friends and giving me the opportunity to visit places I've never seen before!" are Amy's grateful words.

Later, after helping the Apple family clean up and saying goodbye, Twilight's group returns home.

Along the way, Amy joins Tails.

"Is there any news?" she asks him, mischievously.

Tails jumps.

"What do you mean?"

"In the sense that Cupid must have thrown a dart at the table, or you have simply become more careless..."

"I don't know what you're talking about, Ame..."

"Oh come on, Tails! Don't hide with me! I saw how you looked at Applejack, you lit up like a Chaos Emerald!"

"What comparisons!" Miles mutters, now flushed.

"I think you would make a beautiful couple!"

"You say? But she is older!"

"So? Even S-... S-... Well, it's only a matter of a few years." the pink hedgehog cuts short, picking up her pace and catching up with Twilight.

Tails returns to being thoughtful: the word "Sonic" is still taboo for Amy.
