Kikyo didn't need to sleep or eat. She didn't need to use the bathroom. But her soul felt so free, so at peace.
She almost wanted to thank Dan for his gift of this ghostly, powerful body.
Almost.
Dan came to see her every night. He was increasingly kind to her, showing her how to use her powers, being patient with her, even when she had the occasional meltdown.
Little by little, he was wearing down her wounded heart.
As she practiced her ghost ray, Dan put his arms around her waist and led her hands, perfecting her aim.
"Your aim is amazing, priestess." Dan smiled.
His lips were inches from hers.
"I-I was a master archer." Kikyo said. "In life."
Dan's lips touched hers. "Of course you were."
He pulled away. Leaving her wanting more.
Little by little.
