Inuyasha: Rage and Revenge

Shippo's Fate

Shippo kept wondering why Kagome and the others are taking so long. They have Inuyasha with them so nothing can go wrong as far as he knew. Plus the group handled threats heading their way so it shouldn't be a problem.

However, Kagome came back to Kaede's hut with a haunted expression that looked to be of utter defeat and sorrow. Kaede asked the young girl what happened but she shook her head.

But what completely taken Shippo aback was that Kagome walked to the well leading to her era and when Shippo demanded to know what happened to the others, she shook her head again and left him with some parting words.

"Naraku has won. He has all the jewel shards I gave him. I let my friends and Koga die and gave him all of them so that my life can be spared. I don't want to doom this era but I have my family to think of. I don't want to waste this mercy he offered me so I'm leaving and I'm not coming back Shippo. I'm sorry."

Kagome said those words in a weak and defeated tone. When Shippo asked where did Inuyasha go, Kagome paled and just jumped the well leading to her home without answering, perplexing Shippo.

He told this to Kaede which surprised the old priestess greatly. A day later, a message came in the form of Kanna as she told him to come to the Western Lands castle to speak with Lord Inuyasha. Shippo agreed hoping that Inuyasha would have the answers he seek. He told Kaede about this and while she expressed worry about this, he decided to go anyway.

(With Inuyasha)

He felt a sense of triumph as he watched over the Lands on the top walls of his castle. This is part of the bargain he made with Naraku which the villain agreed without resistance. And most of his subjects now serve him out of fear of him or Naraku. Sometimes both. All it took was the head of Sesshomaru on his throne to make them think twice on rebelling against him.

He should have felt guilt or despair for what he did, betraying his friends and lover(s) like that but for some reason, it felt exhilarating! Unleashing all the pent up hate on them on the most cruel and brutal manner. In the back of his mind, he wondered if this is what Kikyo felt about him when she was revived but now she's dead and will stay dead.

Not all of them are dead because Shippo is still alive but no matter. He is a loose end.

"Inuyasha! I'm here! I'm escorted by Kanna of the Mirror!" Shippo called out to him.

Inuyasha looked back and saw the two children walk towards him. Kanna obediently said. "Lord Inuyasha, your guest is here."

"Excellent Kanna. Summon a table and two chairs for us please." Inuyasha requested.

When she did summon those from her mirror, he thanked her politely and she disappeared. "Come. Sit." He sat on one chair while Shippo sat on the other side. Shippo felt some dizziness but ignored it.

"So how are you doing today?" Inuyasha asked though he could guess the answer.

Shippo replied. "Not good. I'm hearing rumors from the other villages that a purple air is surrounding the other villages. I'm also hearing some of the village elders talking about how there are demons roaming around, killing or kidnapping every human on sight." He tapped a finger on the table impatiently.

Inuyasha shrugged as if the news meant nothing to him. "That won't be a problem anymore. I'll see to it personally."

"Okay." Shippo said a little relieved. "I have to ask Inuyasha, what happened to the others? And why are you still here?"

"Oh that's easy." Inuyasha said as he bent down to grab something under his seat and answered calmly. "I killed them."

Shippo felt as if he got punched in the gut. "You..killed them?"

Inuyasha explained the deaths of Sango, Kilala, Miroku, Koga, Kikyo and Sesshomaru as if he had been discussing the weather. How he brutally cut open Sango's throat, made a fine rug out of Kilala, enjoyed Kikyo's screams, made a third bloody hole between Miroku's legs, and last but not least he showed Shippo his brother's head.

Shippo felt nauseous at the sight of Sesshomaru's head and what made him feel like throwing up was how casual Inuyasha had been when he had been describing at how they died. This came to the belief that this wasn't the Inuyasha he had known.

"Why? Why did you do this, Inuyasha!? They cared for you! They trusted you!" Shippo shouted at him once Inuyasha stopped his reminiscing.

"Because I am sick of it. Sick and tired. Tired and sick of all the times you guys abused me. I took all of it personal so I went to the one person who can help me achieve my revenge." Inuyasha replied, seeing no reason to hide his intentions to Shippo.

Shippo figured it out and connected the dots. "Naraku. You lied to everyone about his location so that you and him can ambush them!"

Inuyasha smiled and answered without remorse. "You catch on quick. Yes, I lied. As I had from the very beginning of that one trip that cost almost all of our friends their lives."

Shippo demanded. "And what of Kagome?! What did you do to her?!"

Inuyasha replied while shrugging. "Personally I would've preferred plunging my blade into her chest but she gave me all of the jewel shards which I gave to Naraku. I would've killed her after that but she can leave this era knowing that she can never forgive herself for letting her friends die and dooming this one at the hands of a villain. The damage to her was already done and that was revenge good enough for me."

Inuyasha stood up and walked towards the near edge of the castle, overlooking the land.

"As for the rest of this land, Master Naraku will cover the world with his miasma and remake it into his image. Any who resist him will be destroyed."

Shippo shouted. "You would allow Naraku to destroy this world!? What are you thinking!?"

Inuyasha waved it off. "I don't care what happens to this land so long as I get what I want in the form of revenge and this title. Naraku can do whatever he wants with the completed jewel."

"You're crazy! Naraku must have worked your head good!"

"Not really. He has been good to his word so far and I see no reason to betray him. As for the rest of these citizens, they can either die or submit to Naraku. I care not which." Inuyasha said as if Shippo's accusations were nothing.

"You've gone mad Inuyasha!" Shippo cried, jumping out of his seat. "I need to warn Kaede!"

Inuyasha chuckled. "Do you honestly think that you can outrun all of the security in my castle or get to warn that old hag in time in the unlikely event that you do?"

"I don't know but goodbye Inuyasha." Shippo said as he tried to run only to be slammed into the ground with unexpected force.

"What caused that you think? That chair you sat on drained all your powers and your strength. Now you're weak and couldn't do anything."

Shippo cursed, having felt something was wrong when he sat on it. Then Inuyasha called out. "Kanna! Have one of the guards throw Shippo off my castle."

Kanna called in a guard who lifted Shippo who screamed out. "Don't do this! Think of the people!"

"Are the bombs in place Kanna?" Inuyasha asked, completely ignoring Shippo.

"Yes, my Lord. As per your instructions, they have been placed in every dark corner of every villages. By Master Naraku's predictions, there will be little resistance once everyone has been exposed to it." Kanna explained.

"No, stop this!" Shippo yelled as he was carried to the edge.

"Good. Prepare a message for Naraku that it is time. And ready a convoy for myself. I will oversee the domination of this world personally."

"Yes, my Lord." Kanna replied as she disappeared.

Inuyasha stared at the horizon. He saw a screaming Shippo in his field of view then looked down to see the little fox's head crash into some rocks before dropping to the ground dead. Taking one last look at the horizon that is the human villages, he walked away to fulfill the order given to him and pave the way for his master.

Master Naraku will be pleased.

...

...
Naraku's miasma was released, enveloping the entire world with its purple gases. People were confused and had no idea where it came from.

Moments later, demons appeared from nowhere attacked the villagers forcing them to flee, any standing defenders were killed.

Kaede realized that this is the work of Naraku and spoke with each and every feudal lord. They instantly believed her given how their own villages were destroyed by Naraku and for the first time allied their forces to stand against the darkness.

'Only a quarter part of the world remained. That distant shadowed world...the human forces make their final stand...their heroes will gather...their forces will be marshaled...and they will die bravely...but still they will die...'

'And the demons will be slaves to the lord Naraku...All will bow...before the powers...of the deceiver...'

The humans did indeed make their final stand with the assistance from Kaede and any remaining priestesses, demon slayers, monks, and any demon packs that refused to submit to Naraku. Although they have made a glorious end, their deaths were for naught as Inuyasha himself personally oversaw its destruction.

They held out for days...supplies and troops dwindling...moral slowly breaking down...through the relentless attack Naraku's demons had against them. Sadly, their defense were broken and they fought admirably but futilely as every single one of the human race is no more.

Kaede became the sole survivor of this defense but the total loss of so many and the deaths around her were too much for her old heart to bear. She died without a sound.

Inuyasha ruled over the Western Lands while Naraku used the sacred jewel to become a god and finally dominated the feudal era.

As for Kagome, her well was destroyed by Inuyasha's forces but the damage to her was already done. In her dreams, she would wake up thinking of her friends she failed.

Naraku felt content that his ambition is fulfilled and the world of the feudal era is forever changed.

It was all thanks to his loyal servant Inuyasha who once bore with him rage and vengeance.

Notes My first Inuyasha fanfic. I only read fanfics and the wiki so please bear with me when I know little next to nothing about the lore. I'll be writing two more fics about Inuyasha and that's it.
