Endless Possibilities

Place: Unknown

Time: Unknown

"Where are we?"

"I don't know."

The Cube's portal had spit them out on a dark landscape, stormy almost. Stormy yet calm, a perfect paradox.

They were certainly not in New York any longer, and when might have even been a bigger question.

"Well this is - nice..." she remarked. It appeared they were the only ones here - wherever 'here' was. "I could get used to having a place just to ourselves - just for ourselves..." Speaking of which- "'Okay', that's all I get?"

"Beg pardon?"

"You said 'okay.' I told you I love you and all you say is 'okay'." She lowered her voice to better imitate his.

"Well it kind of came out of nowhere-"

"Not for me it didn't!"

He eyed her. "Sigyn, what are you talking about? What aren't you telling me?" They could always read each other well, ever since they were growing up together as children. They were best friends after all. He knew she wasn't being entirely truthful with him. After all, he would know, being the God of Lies and Mischief and all.

But here she held back, not wanting to go there. There was no way in Hel she would reveal the future, the future they were trying so hard to rewrite. The fall of Asgard, Ragnarok, Thanos - Loki's death...

He had no idea what they had been through before this - what she had been through. "I don't want to talk about it. What matters now is you're here, you're alive, and I'm so glad, so relieved."

He cupped her face in both hands, tilting her head to look up at him and have her eyes meet his. "Sigyn, I have loved you for far longer than you realize. For so long."

She leaned into his touch. "And I you."

"Sig, I don't know what's going on, but I don't care, I'm ready to run with it, whatever it is, whatever it means. I'm ready to go anywhere, as long as it's with you."

"Oh, yes. I'm never losing you again."

"Oh, Sig-" They kissed, long and deep, holding one another in a tender embrace, one that was long overdue - they were certainly going to make up for it.

"Oh, good, it worked."

They were broken apart suddenly by a strange interruption - no pun intended.

They thought they had been alone here, wherever they were, and up until then they had been. But now, they were joined by a tall man in blue robes and a red cloak with gold detailing.

"Master Strange!" Sigyn cried, the man floating before them. "I thought you were gone-"

"I was - I am. Still am."

"I'm sorry, you know him? Who is this?" Loki asked.

"Oh Loki, this is Doctor Strange, a Wizard of Earth," Sigyn introduced.

Loki scrunched up his nose. "Wizard? I wasn't aware Earth had wizards."

"It doesn't, we aren't wizards exactly." Strange shook his head. "Anyways, why I'm here: Before myself and the others vanished I went forward in time using the Time Stone and saw fourteen million six hundred and five future possibilities, with one winning outcome."

"Odin's Beard..." Sigyn breathed.

"Yes, Odin's Beard indeed. The winning one takes place at the Avengers facility in 2023-"

"2023!" cried Sigyn. "That's the-"

"Future, yes, it is. You have eleven years until you must join us at that exact moment in time. Eleven years is a long time-"

"Really not that long," Loki protested.

"-To some. Use them wisely."

"Use them wisely..." The same as Captain Rogers had said about using the Tesseract. "Use it wisely."

"But how will we know when to meet you?"

"You'll know." Cryptic as always.

"Wait, were you controlling where the Cube brought us?" she asked him.

"Not anymore." And with that, he vanished, disappearing as quickly as he had appeared.

"Eleven years huh?" Loki nodded, looking at the Cube in his hands. "Well, in that case, where do you want to go? What do you want to do?"

"I'm not sure... How about you?"

"Well-" He tossed the Cube up, catching it again. "I have a few ideas."

And so the fun begins...
