In the night Chase couldn't fall asleep.
He thought about the dog he met that day. Why he wasn't protecting him when he fell from Humminger's airship? Or when Striker attacked him? Or even the time when Crimson fired a arrow? Chase sighed and stood up. He walked near the cliff.
"You should be here at the late of night," the voice came. Chase saw a pup beside him. It was Shadow! Chase said:" I had been thinking about something." Shadow said:" You can ask me everything." Chase asked:" Why you didn't protect me before when you are protective spirit? And how you even are here?" Shadow sighed and said:" The gem brought me here to protect the gem piece. And it was you, Chase. In fact i couldn't do anything because i couldn't feel anything. I went trough everything. Until i got the gem piece." Chase gasped. The gem on his puptag is the piece of gem what he and Marshall searched!
"Chase?" Marshall asked as he walked there:" Why are you here?" Shadow said:" Don't worry. You are only one who hears or sees me." Chase said:" Nothing much." "Did you talked with yourself?" Marshall asked as he walked closer to him. Chase said:" Yes. But i think that i go back to my puphouse." Marshall said:" You know that you can tell me everything. What's wrong?" Chase said:" It's nothing really." He walked towards his puphouse. "Sorry to disturb your sleep," Chase said:" Good night!" Marshall was little confused but shook it off and went to his puphouse.
At the morning Marshall went to Ryder. "I think that something is troubleing Chase," Marshall said:" He didn't tell me what is wrong when i asked him about it." Ryder said:" That's strange. But i think that we need to give him the time to open up. I will ask him about it when he doesn't talk with you." "Thanks Ryder!" Marshall said.
Chase was little tired that morning. He just looked at the trees near the cliff where he saw Shadow. Something is really bothering him.
Chase wonders if Shadow is the dog's real name and how are they related.
