AN: And here we continue on the path of fire. But today, let's add a little spice. A little spark. A little, lightning. Today, Izuku meets his best friend and his mentor. I have decided to give my OC the powers of Cole MacGrath from the Infamous series. Mostly Infamous 2, but a few powers from 1. Hope you all enjoy!
MHA: The Emerald Firebender
One Year later
Izuku had sat in his room early that morning writing in his notebook. He had spent the last year figuring out all of the ins and outs of his quirk. Firstly he decided to name his quirk: Dragon Fire. Why that you may ask? Because that one sounded the best out of the other names he had come up with.
Over the last year, everyday after school, Izuku went to the beach he had discovered his quirk at, which he found out was called Dagobah beach. Everyday he practiced his flames on the mountains of trash that littered the beach. And he discovered quite a bit about his quirk.
First thing he discovered was, his flames could heal himself. He figured this out when the injuries that he had acquired the day he discovered his quirk had vanished. This was confirmed when he accidentally cut himself on some trash on the beach. His flames appeared around the wound for a moment before disappearing, leaving behind smooth and healed skin.
The next thing he discovered was that his fire obeyed his will completely. Meaning it only burned what he wanted it to burn. He could encompass an entire mountain of trash in his flames, but the only thing that burned was the car engine that he wanted to melt. And since his fire does exactly what he wants it to and only burns what he wants it to burn, his flames were more versatile than one might think. He could pick up objects with 'ropes' of emerald flames and make some objects out of his fire. He could make hands and nets, heck he could even make a big war hammer he saw on tv.
He found out that his flames were extremely powerful as well. They could get so hot that they could melt a steel beam and turn it into a puddle of molten metal in seconds. They were also strong enough to give him the ability to fly using his flames. Needless to say that he had learned to be careful with how much power he put into his fire.
Some side effects of his quirk gave him complete resistance to heat and cold. Any heat he encountered now only felt pleasantly warm. No matter how hot it was, from lukewarm to boiling hot water, from warm metal to molten hot lava. As made evident when he was able to touch glowing hot metal. Cold didn't affect either any more. No matter how cold it got, he was always warm. His inner fire made his body a little warmer than usual. He once went out in the snow in nothing but shorts and he felt like it was just a cool summer day.
Another thing he found out was, he had control over all fire. He found this out when his mom had lit a candle. He felt a pulling sensation from those small flames. He pulled on that feeling, and the candles flames grew and became more powerful. He willed them to come to him, and they did, becoming long ropes of fire. As soon as they reached him, the orange and yellow fire turned into emerald flames. He also found that he could absorb the fire.
He also found out that he could make explosives, just like Bakugo's quirk. He honestly decided to try it as a joke, not expecting it to work. Imagine his surprise when he made a green explosion erupt from his hand, destroying a small pile of garbage.
Needless to say, Izuku had one powerful quirk.
Izuku never told anyone else about his quirk. Inko never told anyone because her son asked her not to, saying that he wanted people to like him for who he was as a person, not what his quirk was. Since she knew the hardships of trying to find true friends, she did as he asked, not even telling Mitsuki, her long time friend.
Izuku was still bullied almost daily, but this time, he let it happen. He didn't see a point in fighting back really. His flames could heal any injuries he received. And he could tell that his quirk was far more powerful than any of the others his classmates had, so it would do more harm that good if he used it on them. And Izuku was just better than that. Plus, he found out that Bakugo's quirk didn't affect him anymore. The blondes explosions were basically just balls of rapidly expanding fire, so they didn't even faze Izuku in the slightest anymore. Izuku once even absorbed one of Bakugo's explosions. The blonde, somehow, never noticed this or that his quirk had no effect on Izuku. Izuku had to quickly learn how to keep a blank expression on his face, or else he would have had a smug look on his face every time Bakugo used his quirk on him, and it failed to have any effect at all.
Izuku didn't only train his quirk, he also trained his body. If he wanted to become a good hero one day, he was going to be physically fit to do so. So he did some workouts that someone his age was safe to do. He ran a few laps around the beach's perimeter, lifted a few heavy objects to increase his strength, and he even worked on breathing exercises. Why breathing exercises you may ask?
(Time for some Uncle Iroh wisdom. Whether I make this important later on is to be decided)
You see, power in firebending comes from the breath, not the muscles. The breath becomes energy in the body. That energy then extends past Izuku's limbs and becomes Fire! By learning proper breathing exercises, Izuku won't become short of breath, meaning his fire won't lose power. By training both his body and lungs, Izuku was steadily becoming more powerful by the day.
All in all, Izuku was on the path to becoming one powerful hero.
Today was Saturday, and Izuku was hard at work practicing with his fire. He was throwing fireballs at various targets he had set up. He was timing himself to see how many he could get in under a minute. Once all his targets had been knocked down, he checked his time.
He was pleased with the results. "25 targets down in 56 seconds. Not too bad." Izuku said with a smile
"I'll say." A voice suddenly said.
Izuku whipped around at the sound of a new voice. He almost immediately zeroed in on the source of it. Sitting cross legged on top of a large pile of trash was a boy around his age. He had black hair with blue tips. He had cobalt blue eyes and a scar on his cheek. He wore a black shirt with a blue lightning bolt across it and dark blue jeans with blue sneakers. Around his neck was a necklace of a circle with a lightning bolt going through it.
The boy waved at Izuku. "Yo." He said casually. "That was some pretty good work. You have got a lot of speed and precision. And you have a powerful quirk to boot. But, you could be a lot better."
Izuku looked at the boy curiously. "Who are you?"
The boy stood up and easily jumped down a few feet away from Izuku. He gave izuku a friendly smile. "Where are my manners? My name is Roku. Roku MacGrath." He said with an exaggerated bow. "Please call me Roku."
"Izuku Midoriya." Izuku said as he held out his hand. Roku shook it. Izuku noticed that he had a firm grip. "May I ask why you are here?"
"I heard a few explosions and decided to check it out. Then I came upon you. I assume you were training, so I decided to watch." Roku answered honestly.
"What do you mean, 'I could be better'?" Izuku asked, remembering his earlier statement.
Roku smiled and went and set all of Izuku's targets back up. "I mean that you have a lot of power, and decent reflexes and aim. But, you need to be faster."
Once the targets were set up, Roku went to the same spot that Izuku was and started the timer. Izuku watched in fascination as Roku's eyes glowed blue and lightning started dancing across his skin. Roku moved as fast as the lightning dancing across his skin. He shot small bolts of lightning at each target in rapid fire succession. He stopped once all the targets were knocked down.
Izuku quickly looked at the time and was surprised with what he saw. 23 seconds. Half the time it took him to do it.
Izuku looked at Roku in awe. "How did you do that?"
Roku just smiled as he held up his palm and flexed his fingers. Lightning danced between them. "Practice. I've been training to become a hero since I was 7." He put his hand down and looked at Izuku. "I'm guessing that you also want to be a hero, given your training here." He said as he glanced around.
Izuku nodded. "I want to be able to save people."
Roku nodded with a smile. "Well, want some help?" Izuku looked at him weirdly. "I mean, do you want someone to help you train? I got nothing to do since my parents work till mid afternoon, and we both want to become heros. Why not help each other?"
Izuku thought about it. It did seem like an appealing idea. He did need to learn some proper fighting styles and it would be beneficial if he had someone to help him. And Roku didn't go to his school, so he doesn't know Izuku beforehand. Meaning he was being genuine about his offer and not working on some ulterior motive. That was what made up Izuku's mind.
Izuku nodded. "Alright then. I could use some help anyway." He said as he looked down at his hand, bore igniting it.
Roku smiled. "Sweet! Come on. I'll show you the ropes, newbie!"
3 months later
And that was how Izuku met his best friend. From that day forth, Izuku and Roku both got to know one another. They both had many similar interests such as Heros, video games, reading etc. Roku learned about Izuku's quirk, how he got it, and why he doesn't want others to know about it. Specifically the kids in his school. He also learned that Izuku was scary good at quirk analysis.
Izuku in turn learned about Roku's quirk. Or quirks in his case. Roku had two quirks. One from each of his parents. He had Electrokinesis and Cryokinesis. He got his lightning from his dad, and his ice from his mom. It was a pretty powerful combination. As a result of the two quirks joining, it made Roku very strong. Both quirk wise and physically. His quirks gave him super strength, as demonstrated when he easily picked up a car engine and threw it at a fridge, with one hand. Both of his quirks were incredibly versatile. Such as his lightning has the power to heal people. How you may ask, both of them had absolutely no clue. He just can.
Roku also was able to manipulate the weather to a certain extent. He was able to summon thunderstorms and hurricanes, tornadoes and blizzards, and that was about it. He could also fly, something that Izuku loved. They both would often fly above the ocean and race each other or just have fun. Roku also had a wide range of attacks and abilities.
It was hard to explain the full extent of his abilities, when it was easier to just show them. (Just look up Infamous 1-2 powers.)
Over the next 2 months, Roku put Izuku through the same training regimen that his parents put him through. It was only a little harder than what Izuku was already going, but also a lot longer than what he usually did.
Roku helped him hone his abilities even further, making him stronger than before. Izuku's body started to gain some muscle, or at least as much as a 9 year old could get.
They had just finished training for the day and Roku had decided to invite Izuku over to his place.
"Why don't you come to my place today. My parents would really like to meet you." Roku said as they walked away from the beach.
Izuku nodded. "Alright. Let me call my mom first."
After calling his mom and getting permission to go, the two boys took flight. Izuku used his flames to propel him through the air. Roku didn't have any noticeable assistance from his quirk. The only thing that changed was lightning started dancing across his body and his eyes glowed blue. They thankfully weren't in danger from the law though, as you are allowed to use your quirk to travel and nothing else.
They eventually arrived at Roku's home. It was a large 2 story house with a 2 car garage. It was painted a dark blue color and had an oak front door. It was near the edge of the city, so it was situated on a pretty decent plot of land. Izuku could see that the front yard was about an acre big and when he was in the air he saw a backyard that looked to be 4 acres big. A few trees were scattered around the front yard.
Izuku could see a car parked in front of the garage, making him think that Roku's parents had returned from work.
Roku led the green haired boy inside. "Im home!" He called out.
"Just in time! We got pizza!" A gruff voice answered.
"Wash your hands first!" A feminine voice said, presumably to the owner of the gruff voice.
Roku turned to Izuku. "Fair but of warning. You are gonna recognize my parents." He said before proceeding to the kitchen.
Izuku followed with a look of confusion. "Why would I recognize—"
He stopped short as they walked into the kitchen. In the kitchen were two people. A man with a buzz cut with tattoos on his arms. He wore a blue t-shirt with white sleeves, blue pants with a silver line going down one leg and going through a silver X. He wore blue and white sneakers to top the outfit off. The man stood in front of a counter.
On the other side of the counter, sitting in a chair across from him, was a woman. The woman had pale blue tinted skin, dark blue hair and blue eyes like Roku's. She wore a gray sleeveless shirt with a white snowflake design on the bottom left stomach. She wore simple gray jeans and gray shoes. One noticeable feature about this woman was that a light frost seemed to be emanating from her hands.
Both of them were eating pizza. And Izuku recognized them almost immediately. They turned to the duo as they entered. Their eyes immediately zeroed in on Izuku as he walked through the doorway. Their faces morphed in confusion.
"Roku, who is this?" His mother asked, curious who her son had brought home with him.
Roku smiled brightly. "Mom, dad, this is my best friend. Izuku Midoriya." Roku turned to Izuku. "Izuku, these are my parents—"
Izuku interrupted him however. "Cole and Lucy MacGrath! The number 3 and number 9 heros! Zeus and Khione!" He said with stars in his eyes.
The two elder MacGraths looked at each other in amusement. "It seems our son didn't tell his friend about his parents." Lucy said amusedly.
"So it would seem." Cole said with a sly smile at his son.
That seemed to shock Izuku out of his fanboying. He turned and glared at Roku. "Why didn't you tell me your parents were Heros!?" He demanded.
Roku smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, I wanted you to be my friend for who I am, not for who my parents are. It's hard to make real friends when your parents are famous pro heros."
Izuku sighed but nodded in understanding. He couldn't judge since he wanted people to like him for him, not his quirk.
"So this is Izuku. Roku has told us a lot about you." Cole said, looking at the green haired boy l.
Izuku shuffled nervously. "Good things I hope?"
Lucy laughed. "Very good thing." She then gestured to the pizza boxes. "Would you like to eat with us Izuku? We can all get to know each other."
Izuku hesitated for a moment before digging in with Roku quickly following, both grabbing a slice of pizza.
5 years later
Over the next few years, the Two boys were put through the paces. As they grew older, Roku's parents put them through a steadily growing difficult training regimen. They would have the boys train their bodies before training their quirks for 3 hours straight. It was complete hell for the two boys once they reached 10 years old. That was when the training got serious.
Speaking of Roku's parents, Izuku got to know them quite well. He soon came to see the MacGrath's as a second family. Cole was a strict yet fair father. He may seem a little cold at first, but once you get to know him, he is really a teddy bear. He was always helping the boys improve themselves and helped them come up with new ideas for their quirks, while also teaching them how to fight. He was very funny too and had quite the sense of humor. Cole was also quite powerful, being the number 3 hero and all. But despite being powerful, he could be as gentle as a baby kitten. That is until you do something to his friends or family. Then he shows you why his hero name is Zeus. Izuku wished his father was like Roku's.
Lucy was a warm woman, despite her quirk, but was just as strict as Cole. She was very nice to Izuku and always greeted him with a hug. That was one thing Izuku found out about Lucy. She was a bit touch starved. In her younger years, Lucy was unable to control her quirk very well. Making her unable to touch people without hurting them, for as soon as they touched her, her quirk would freeze their skin. It was only after years of training and meditation did she finally learn to fully control her quirk. By then she had gone most of her life without human contact. And she had to always watch herself as she could still hurt someone if she lost control. Before she met Izuku, there were only two people she could touch safely without having to continuously control herself. Her son and her husband. Cole because his lightning was able to warm his skin, neutralizing Lucy's ice. And Roku, because he has his mom's quirk, making him immune to cold.
When she met Izuku and found out that the cold doesn't bother him, she was ecstatic that she could touch another person without hurting them. During the first few years of their relationship, you would often find Lucy cuddling with the two boys when Izuku came over to stay the night. Izuku was happy to give her as many hugs as she wanted.
Lucy was also smart as a whip and just as deadly as one. She may be nice to her friends, but she can be quite the ice queen to her enemies.
The two boys soon started seeing each other as brothers instead of best friends. Considering they spent almost every day together, this wasn't surprising.
They introduced Inko to Roku's parents a few months after they met Izuku. Inko was incredibly surprised to learn that Roku's parents were heroes, the number 3 and number 9 at that. But she quickly got over her surprise and treated them normally, something the two heros were thankful for. Lucy and Inko quickly became fast friends, becoming quite close to each other. They were all happy to meet each other.
Over the years the boys became more and more powerful. Izuku's flames were now so strong that he could turn tungsten, the metal with the highest melting point, into a puddle of molten metal in seconds if he used full power. Thanks to the years of training, he had quite the athletic figure. Standing at 5,8 was a muscular green haired boy. Izuku's physical strength was now where he could lift almost 300 pounds. Quite impressive for a 14 year old.
Roku's powers eclipsed both his parents when he turned 13, making him stronger than both of them combined. At full power, his lightning could now reach over 300 million volts of electricity, just like true lightning bolts. His father could only reach about half that amount of electricity. And his ice now reached over -200 degrees fahrenheit. That was twice as cold as his moms ice. He had a major growth spurt as well. He now stood at 6'1 and had the same athletic figure as Izuku. His physical strength had reached the point where he was able to throw cars with minimal difficulty over 100 meters.
Needless to say that the two boys had grown quite powerful over the years.
The boys had started practicing fighting together as a team. They worked on ways that they could combine their quirks in the best ways possible. Mixing and matching, creative moves and combos that suited them. They had each other's backs, and they trusted each other completely.
Today the dynamic duo were on their way to Dagobah beach. Roku had waited for Izuku outside his school and the two started to make their way to the beach once they met up. They still used the beach for training since there was so much trash that they could practice on. And since Roku's parents didn't get home until five, it worked out for them.
The two were walking through a tunnel and talking about what they planned to do today.
"I think we should work on a new way to combine my lightning and your fire." Roku suggested.
Izuku put his hand to his chin in thought. "Hmm. We already have a lot of combinations for ice and fire, so we do need to work with your lightning a bit more. What were you thinking about doing?"
Roku raised his hand and let some lightning dance across his palm. "I was thinking about a one two combo. Use my lightning to—"
But he was interrupted by a slightly distorted voice.
"That sounds like some quirk kid."
The Boys spun around and were shocked to see a mass of green sludge right in front of them. They craned their necks, staring up at the shifting monstrosity of green sludge, bulging eyes, and giant teeth.
"What the?" Roku asked.
"A villain?" Izuku questioned.
The shifting maw of teeth seemed to smile darkly. "In fact… I think I'll take it!"
The sludge suddenly surged forward towards Roku. Roku raised his hand to blast the villain away, but the villain was faster than he expected. The villain enveloped Roku in his sludgy body in seconds. At the same time, the villain had knocked Izuku away.
Izuku was on his feet a second later and what he saw horrified him. Roku screamed as the sludge encased his mouth and nose, forcing its way down his throat. Roku tried to use a Blast to get the villian off of him, but his hand was swallowed again almost instantly.
The villain laughed darkly. "Nice try. Struggle all you like, kid. In another thirty seconds, it'll all be over."
Roku didn't listen and tried to free himself again but it didn't work.
"Your criminal ways end here, villain! For I-" a new voice yelled, but the duo didn't pay any attention to it.
Izuku saw the look in Roku's eyes. It was a look he never saw in his eyes before. Fear. Roku was afraid of what might happen. Izuku's eyes filled with rage at seeing this.
The temperature in the tunnel started to drastically climb. Higher and higher it went until it started getting to the point that it was hard to breath. The slime villain looked up and saw a scary sight.
A few meters away from him stood Izuku. His fists were covered in emerald flames, and you could see the heatwaves rolling off of him. His hair and clothes were flapping wildly due to the heatwaves. He had a green outline of emerald flames around his body. The ground at his feet was glowing orange from the heat he was giving off. But the most notable feature was his eyes. His green irises had caught fire as well. It looked like you were staring right in the eyes of a demon from the hottest parts of hell.(1)
"Let him go!" Izuku yelled as he charged at the slime villain. The slime villain got over its shock and tried to smash Izuku with its fist. Izuku dodged and sent a blade of fire at the villains arm, cutting it off. While the villain was briefly distracted, Izuku quickly got in the villain's 'face' and let off a powerful explosion.
That was all the distraction Roku needed to escape. Using his ice powers, he quickly froze the parts of the villain that had surrounded him. He then used his strength and shattered the frozen parts, breaking free of his slimy prison.
The villain howled in pain as part of his body froze and then shattered. Roku jumped away from the villain as he was distracted. Now that he was free, Roku glared at the villian before. He raised his hands as the slime villain recovered and tried to charge at the two boys. Before he could reach them however, Roku unleashed his ice on the sludge villain.
Two beams of ice shot from his hands and impacted the villain in the chest. Ice quickly spread along the villians body, slowly encompassing him. The villain stopped moving once he was entirely covered in ice, his fist still raised in the air as though he was about to punch them.
Once the villain was neutralized, Izuku powered down. The temperature in the tunnel quickly dropped as his intense flaming aura disappeared. He ran over to Roku. "Roku are you alrigh—"
HURRKK
He was interrupted as Roku hunched over and proceeded to empty his stomach. At least that's what Izuku thought at first. But then he saw chunks of slime mixed with his vomit. Izuku reached over and rubbed little circles on Roku's back. Eventually Roku stopped dry heaving.
"You alright?" Izuku asked in concern.
Roku nodded as he slowly stood up and wiped his mouth. "That thing was inside me. I could feel its slime moving in my body. And worst of all was the taste. It was the worst." Roku said as he tried not to vomit again.
Izuku nodded in understanding. He was about to say something else, when he was interrupted by a loud and booming voice.
2 minutes earlier.
When Yagi Toshinori - better known throughout the world as Japan's number one hero, All Might - got up that day, he had been prepared for a number of things. The horrendous traffic of mid-day Musutafu. The excited shouts of any fans who caught sight of him. The phantom rumblings of a stomach he no longer had.
And of course, stopping whatever villainy he happened upon in its tracks.
The last one was simply to be expected. Even if he had somewhere to be, he just could not stand by and allow a crime to happen. Not when he was fully capable of preventing it.
So when All Might saw the sludge villain flee across the street from him, he didn't hesitate to follow him. When the mass of slime tried to escape by throwing itself down a sewer grate, he was quick to follow. When he got turned around in the vast network of subterranean tunnels, he persevered until he got back on the villain's trail, clambering up the manhole exit after him.
Even if it meant his already limited time was getting a little low now.
What All Might was not prepared for, was the sight he found once he reached open air.
Once All Might had jumped out of the sewers, he called out the villain, ready to give him a good-old Texas Smash and add yet another victory to the legend of the number one hero.
Instead he saw a surprising sight. A boy with green hair and green eyes was glaring at the villian, just a few meters in front of the sludge villain. All Might could practically see the rage rolling off the young man, but he could also see the fear in his eyes.
All Might thought he was just angry at being attacked by a villain. But then his eyes looked more closely at the sludge villain and he saw the reason for the young man's rage and fear. The sludge villain was currently encompassing another boy with its body. All Might noticed that this boy had black hair with blue tips and had cobalt blue eyes. His mouth was covered by the sludge. The boy was struggling to break free of the villain's hold, likely unable to breathe.
All Might instantly reared back his fist, ready to blow the villain into next week before the worst could happen.
But he stopped short by what happened next.
All Might was suddenly hit by a wave of intense heat. The heat was so hot that he actually had to hold his hand in front of his face. It felt as though he were in the middle of an industrial sized blast furnace. He looked around for the source and was surprised at what he saw. The young man with green hair was the source of the intense heat. He appeared different as well.
The young man's hands were covered in green flames, and you see the heatwaves rolling off of him. His hair and clothes were flapping wildly due to the heatwaves. He had a green outline of emerald flames around his body. The ground at his feet was glowing orange from the heat he was giving off. But the most notable feature was his eyes. His green irises had caught fire as well, making them look like green balls of fire.
All Might was surprised at the sheer strength of this young man's quirk. His fire was even hotter than his unofficial rivals, Endeavour! For the ground to become glowing orange like that so quickly, the heat he had to be giving off had to be somewhere above 2000 degrees.
"Let him go!" The young pyrokinetic yelled as he charged the villain.
This boy. With no thought, no hesitation, and judging by the fear that was still present in his eyes, not a shred of a plan, leapt straight into danger. Just to help his friend.
All Might watched as the boy dodged the villains attack before using his fire to cut off his sludge like arm. He then used that moment of distraction to get in the villains personal space and let off a powerful explosion. That seemed to be all the distraction the blue eyed boy needed. The boy must have had an ice quirk, for the parts of the villian that were encompassing him froze solid before shattering as the boy escaped.
The boy quickly turned and raised his hands, shooting two beams of ice at the villian who was now trying to attack them again. The beams impacted the villains chest. Ice quickly spread along the villains body, before he was soon frozen solid in a matter of seconds.
Once the villain was frozen, the green haired boy powered down it seemed, for the intense heat was now quickly dispersing. He went to check on his friend, only for the blue eyed teen to start puking up chunks of slime. All Might couldn't really blame him. He would be disgusted too if someone shoved parts of their body down his throat.
As he watched the green haired teen console his friend, All Might decided that it was time to make himself known.
"That was quite a display there young man." He said as softly as his booming voice allowed, directing his statement towards Roku. "Not many people can take down a villain so easily, especially one so young."
The two brothers in all but blood turned at the sound of the voice. Their eyes widened at who they saw. "All Might?" They asked in shock.
He flashed them a beaming smile. "In the flesh, my young friends. I was following that villain in the hopes of catching him, but it appears that you already had the situation handled!"
He looked at Roku with concern evident on his face. "Are you ok? That villain seemed to have tried to suffocate you."
Roku nodded as he coughed a little. "Im fine. Just, really grossed out."
All Might nodded. "Again, that was quite the display. You were able to keep calm in the face of danger and you were able to defeat a villain with ease. Not many can do that." He then turned to Izuku. "And you were quite brave too my boy. You ran head first into danger without hesitation, just to save your friend. Most would just freeze from fear. But you didn't. I have to say that I am impressed. You would make a great hero. May I know your names?"
Roku raised his hand. "Roku MacGrath. Please call me Roku."
'MacGrath? Why does that name sound familiar?' Thought All Might.
Izuku blushed slightly at being praised by the number one hero. "Thank you All Might. My name is Izuku Midoriya. It's my dream to become a hero one day and make it into UA. I really appreciate you saying that."
All Might gave a soft chuckle. "Well, with a quirk like yours Young Midoriya, I think you will easily make it into the hero course at UA." He turned towards Roku. "What about you, Young Roku? Is it your ambition to become a hero as well?"
Roku nodded. "I wish to be a hero, just like my parents, to save lives."
All Might's smile grew. "Well then I wish you two the best of luck! You two will no doubt become great hero's one day."
He turned back to the still frozen villain. "I shall call the police so that they can apprehend this villian. I will stay to make sure that he doesn't escape."
The two boys nodded. "Thanks All Might. We better get going." Roku said.
Izuku however smiled sheepishly and pulled out a notebook. "C-could i get an autograph?"
All Might couldn't help but laugh.
After finding an empty spot in the boy's notebook (which was filled with some rather impressive self-made hero bios that he could see) and splashing his signature across two full pages, All Might sent the duo on their way.
As he pulled out his phone to call an old friend of his, he overheard a conversation the two boys were having as they walked away.
"What were you thinking man?" Roku asked angrily. "You knew that I would have been fine. Heck, I could have frozen that villian solid from where I was. And don't tell me you had a plan, cause I know you didn't. You could have gotten hurt had you not had your fire."
"Honestly, Roku… I wasn't."
All Might paused.
"… you were in trouble, and… my body just… moved."
Slowly, the Pro Hero turned around, looking back at the pair.
After a moment, Roku scoffed softly. "...you dumbass. You're gonna get yourself killed if you ever jump in like that again."
All Might watched as they moved further down the road, something clicking in his mind. Before he fully processed what he was doing, he called out, "Young man!"
The duo spun around, surprised. "Yes, All Might?"
All Might looked at him for a few seconds before speaking again. "You said you wanted to go to UA, right? To become a hero?"
Izuku blinked at him, before giving him a wide smile. "Oh. Yes that's right. I wish to attend UA high and become a hero one day."
All Might nodded, humming to himself. "Hmm… well, It was a pleasure to meet you two! I'll be keeping my eye out for the two of you in the future."
The boys eyes widened, their mouths falling open in shock. They managed to shake it off, giving a sharp nod and bright smile. "It was nice to meet you too, sir. We won't let you down." They both said at the same time.
They turned back around. But not before All Might heard where they were going.
"Come on." Roku said. "Let's get to Dagobah soon or we won't get to train today. And you know what my parents will do if we skip out on training without permission."
All Might smiled as the two walked away before proceeding to call his friend, detective Tsukauchi. Besides the villain behind him, he could use some to talk to right now. Or perhaps he should talk to Nezu? The principal always helped him think.
And he had a lot to think about right now.
1 month later.
Izuku and Roku were currently training at the beach. Roku was taking a break while Izuku was practicing with his flaming hands. He would make giant hands out of fire and have them pick up objects before moving them around or throw them at piles of trash. He currently had 6 of them out right bow and he was working on moving them each independently.
Suddenly Izuku's senses screamed at him. He moved his flaming hands just in time to catch a large boulder made of ice. His giant hand easily melted the ice in seconds as he turned to look at Roku who was smirking at him.
"Nice situational awareness Deku." When Izuku had told the MacGrath's about the nickname his bullies used for him, they decided to change it to a shorter version of Dekiru, meaning 'Don't give up.' Izuku always felt a little joy when they used his nickname. "We keep training like this and we will be heros in no time."
Izuku chuckled and was about to reply, but someone else did before him.
"I can't help but agree!"
The duo looked up in surprise, towards the stairs leading off the beach. They were shocked to see the familiar muscle-bound Pro watching them in a simple tracksuit, hands on his hips.
"All Might?" The boys asked in shock. "What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to speak to the two of you. And I heard where you were training the last time we saw each other."
The Pro Hero chuckled as he approached them. "I'm sorry it took me so long to return to you, but I had a lot of thoughts to sort through and soul-searching to do before reaching my decision."
"Decision?" Roku asked while sharing a quick look with the Izuku, who was also curious about what the Pro was talking about.
All Might smiled at them, though this one seemed different from what they always saw on TV. It was subdued, with a hint of melancholy, yet still bright and cheerful. "There is a choice I have to make in a short time. I needed to sort through all my options before taking the proper course of action. And… I believe I have found it." He walked up to the two of them, putting his large hand on Izuku's shoulder, grin widening at his awestruck expression.
"Young Midoriya… if you'd accept… I want you to be my successor."
AN: I think that is a good place to leave off. So, now Izuku has a best friend. And now he has a second family so to speak. Just wait till we get to later chapters. This story is just getting started so don't leave just yet. Stick around to see the awesomeness that is this story.
(1)This is the same thing that happens to Escanor when he becomes 'The One'.
