HOME

Danielle hesitates. She knows that Danny likely knows that she's here by now, if he doesn't then he will know soon. She bites at her bottom lip, gnawing at it until the skin peels as she ducks down underneath the window sill; she hopes that no one inside spotted her, but she can't help but look in with envy.

Danny is happy with his parents now. Jazz is laughing. Even Sam and Tucker are in there. All the very image of a perfect family home. Something that now, after years on the street, she feels that she's actually ready for. She wants to have that one thing that she never found.

Danny always told her that she would be welcome, but she can't help but feel like that's not true. After all, it is not as if he ever went out to find her or tried to contact her. She supposes that it's not his fault. He's busy. He has an entire town to constantly save on top of all the other stuff he has to do to be a 'normal' functioning high schooler. A more bitter part of her whispers that if she does go in then he will turn her away because he doesn't even remember her.

She doesn't give him the chance to reject her; she's gone before he even glances out the window.
