Location: Vale General Hospital
Time: 4:00 P.M.
Three days had passed since ryuko fell from exhaustion in the emerald forest, three days since the students of beacon academy, specifically team rwby, found her unconscious, heavily bruised and injured laying on the ground in the emerald forest during the initiation test and had brought her to the hospital shortly after. She began to stir in her sleep as she started to awaken from the three-day coma she was in, her eyes snapped open as she quickly sat up and scanned the room.
"What the? Where the hell am I?" she exclaimed as she looked around the room quickly trying to get a read on where she was. "Ah, good you are awake." a voice of an older man said from a chair that was sitting in the corner of the room. She looked over at where the voice was coming from and saw an older man with white hair and wearing a dark green suit with a cane in his right hand and a coffee mug in his left.
"Who are you?" she asked with a hint of distrust and terror in her voice. "My name is professor ozpin, headmaster of beacon academy." the man now named ozpin replied. "And who might you be?" he asked her. "My name is ryuko Matoi, Student of honnouji academy and slayer of life fibers." she replied looking around to see if she could find her weapon and outfit since she was now wearing bandages and a hospital gown, she found her outfit hanging up on a clothes hanger on the wall and her weapon laying against it. "I'm not familiar with this 'honouji academy' you speak of, nor this 'life fibers' you mentioned." the man replied.
Looking back at the man her eyes widened with a sense of curiosity and confusion "what do you mean you never heard of honouji academy? It's the most prestigious academy on earth." she said looking at him with confusion. "Earth? Is that where you are from?" he asked with confusion. "Uh yea? What are you saying I'm not on earth anymore or something?" she asked hoping it wasn't true. "I'm afraid to tell you that is the case, you see the world you are on is called remnant. Those creatures you were fighting before you collapsed are called the Grimm. They are soulless monsters that have plagued human and Faunus kind alike for thousands of years." he explained.
Her eyes widen with a sense of fear knowing she was no longer on earth which meant she would never see her friends or her sister again. She sat up on the edge of the bed and sat there taking in the new information she was getting. "So, I'm stuck here?" she asked. "I'm afraid so, since we have no idea how you got here, tell me, before you got to remnant what is the last thing you remember?" he asked her. "i remember fighting against my evil life fiber obsessed mother who was trying to turn earth into a buffet for the life fibers, I defeated her and was falling through the atmosphere when everything went black and I woke up in a green forest." she explained.
"What are these life fibers you spoke of?" he asked with a sense of curiosity in his voice. "Well, they are basically a parasitic life form that help under developed planets to become more advanced and then when the planet is ripe, they surround the planet until it explodes and scatters the life fibers around the galaxy." she explained looking at the man. "I myself and the combination of both human and life fiber." she explained. "What do you mean the combination of human and life fiber?" he asked her.
"Let me show you." she said stabbing herself in the chest and ripping out her heart, pulling it out to show him. "See? My heart is still beating even though its outside my body and it's attached to my body still by the life fibers that make up my being" she explained putting her heart back into her body as the wound closed up by itself. "By the gods. Who would do such a thing to you?" he asked with a sense of terror and wonder in his voice. "My mother did this to me when I was born. My father saved me by faking his death and raising me." she explained as she looked over at her outfit. "That outfit over there, it's made of 100 percent life fibers, and is my partner. His name is senketsu." she said pointing to the outfit.
As if on que the outfit began to move and look at the two. "ryuko! Your awake. Thank God. I was getting worried." senketsu said in a voice that ozpin could understand and hear, somehow. "Interesting. Is he a threat?" ozpin asked looking at the outfit. "No, neither of us are. Sen has helped me for months ever since I found him in the basement of my old house that burned down." she explained. "And what of your weapon over there?" he asked. "That, is the scissor blades. Made specifically for killing life fibers." she said as she got up and started putting senketsu back on. "I see, did you design them yourself?" he asked. "No, my father did. He gave me one half as he was murdered by the person who had the other half, I hunted her down and ended her and took the other half back." she said as she sat down on the bed again.
"i see, well, I have a proposition for you miss Matoi. As Ive already explained I am the headmaster of beacon academy, an academy designed to train huntsman and huntresses to fight the creatures of Grimm, and since you do not know anything about remnant, I would like to invite you to join my academy." he offered. "Ok. I guess I might as well since I'm stuck here on this remnant as you called it." she got up and shook his hand. "I shall see about getting you a fake background set up and other information you will need to make it seem you are native to remnant, and get you discharged. Classes start on Monday and here is a scroll." he said as he handed her a scroll.
"Thanks, I guess I will see you on Monday then professor." she said as he left the room to get her discharged and get her transport to beacon. "Well, this is certainly going to be interesting" senketsu said. "Yea, I wonder if we will ever get home." she responded as she grabbed her weapon and shrunk it down to pocket size and left the room and caught up to ozpin.
