All the girls wait for the chauffeuse to return in the dark forest clearing. Gary whose been poisoned is still collapsed in the grass, unable to move.

The chauffeuse returns on Arcanine.
Girl 1 "You've come back!"
Girl 2 "That was quick! Good Arcanine!"
Girl 3 "Gary still isn't well..."
Chauffeuse "Right..."
The chauffeuse pulls out something small from within one of her pockets, she beeps what looks like a car key remote, Boop boop.
It creates a car-sized glow like a glow from a Poké Ball, but this time it's a car that appears, their red convertible car.

Chauffeuse "Everyone get in. Put him in the middle backseat."
Girl "But there's no where to drive in the forest..."
Chauffeuse "We're gonna fly!"
Girl 1 "Whaaat!?"
Girl 2 "It can fly!?"
Chauffeuse "Yeah! What convertible doesn't fly these days?"
Girl "I don't like heights..."
Chauffeuse "We'll only fly for a short distance, up out of the forest."

Gary is lifted into the red convertible practically passed out.

The cheer girls are crying, quite concerned about him.

Once they are all in the car, the chauffeuse presses afew buttons and the car begins to convert...

The convertible unfolds thin red metal wings from it's trunk which makes a clink-clank noise. Underneath the car, unfolds a second pair of landing wheels, with shock absorbers for a good landing and take-off. And finally the chauffeuse makes sure the roof is on with all the windows up.
Chauffeuse "Hold on tight."

She drives the winged car to the edge of the open field, and in a slow arcing turn, maneuvers it to see the whole clearing with space to fly. There's only a few sparse trees in an otherwise open field.
Girl "I hope ya know what you're doing..."
Chauffeuse "Pfft. I passed with flying colors, I know what I'm doing. Just sit and watch."
Girl "I'm sitting..."

Vrrrrrooom
The car begins to speed through the clearing, but this time feels different than driving in a car, there's a feeling of lift, like the car lifts up abit more with each bump in the dirt. A noise comes from the engines like a rocket or plane engine and suddenly the ground below becomes smaller and further away.
Girl "It's flying! Ahhh!"
The chauffeuse pulls a steering stick down, and it lifts the flying car up even more to clear the tree tops.
Girl "Wahhh, don't go up anymore! I'm scared of heights!"
Chauffeuse "I want to get up to a good altitude."

In the sky, the blue moon is very visible and a tall dark cloud still rises up from the mountain tops.
Girl 1 "I wonder what happened?"
Girl 2 looks at the cloud worryingly, "Oh..."
Girl 3 "And what happened to Gary? This isn't a cool trip after all. Shouldn't have come here."
Gary looks as if he fell asleep sitting up, but it's the poison.

Girl 1 "Gary wanted to catch good Pokémon. And I wanted to be here... not left behind cooped up in some hotel."
Girl 4 "Yeah, we can help him.", she looks at him, "Gary..."
He can't respond because of the paralysis effect. But she hopes he hears her.
Only thing he can he can manage is a "... thk...", but she probably didn't hear it, especially over the roar of the engines.

The flying car finally soars over the forest edge, and a dirt road below comes into view. The car is slowly lowered to land on the dirt, it deploys the landing wheels and lands nicely... as nicely as a flying car can land on a dirt road.
The girls that were afraid of heights breathe a sigh of relief.

Gary had been put in the car upright, but he loses strength and rests against one of the girls.

They're still in the countryside foothills far from any trainer hospital. And the road meanders across hills and mountain sides which means it isn't a straight way back.

The curvy roads make Gary abit dizzy. The forceful push with every curve gets harder to fight against.

Eventually he collapses on the backseat. The car drives through a dark tunnel with red-colored lights along its length, flashing red light on them repeatedly as it travels through. A girl in the front seat unlocks her seatbelt to get a closer look at Gary, which causes the car to beep...
boo-boo, boo-boo, boo-boo,
like the Pokémon HP bar in the red in video games.

To the girls, Gary looks practically dead, since he cannot move.
One of the girls holds him on her lap.
He feels that one of his hands is being held tightly. His hand is released and it falls against the seat cushion with a heavy pat sound. He has no control over his muscles anymore.

Gary still maintains awareness though, and he hears them say,
"Gary... Is he going to die? Ohno... ", they cry, "Hey, wake up, you can't die yet...", "We're gonna get you to the hospital, ok? Just hold on..."

The Pokédex's familiar voice rings through the vehicle "...put an antidote on the area of poison. If...", The computer AI voice is quite faint or maybe Gary is the one who has become faint, "... until you can reach a hospital or less ideal, a trusted adult with a computer and a transfer machine."
It's the Pokédex recommending first-aid.

The girls spray an antidote normally used for Pokémon on to the red pawprint mark. And onto his neck where Umbreon had bitten him, although the poison isn't spread through bites.

Gary laments to himself,
I can't believe I had all the knowledge of this poison, but I became victim to it anyway! I need to be better prepared for any situation. That'll make me a better Pokémon trainer.

Finally, the girls pull the car over into a driveway of a small town Pokémon Center. They don't feel confident in waiting any longer to get to a real human clinic.

The chauffeuse gets out of the car, and some of the girls go with her inside the Pokémon Center. Inside there's a front desk at the center of the room, and the walls are lined with rows of PCs and comfy, yellow lounge chairs.

Nurse Joy is in charge of this Pokémon Center, same as most Pokémon Centers in Kanto and Johto. The center is empty except for them, she is at her computer at the front desk.

Joy "Welcome to our Pokémon Center, I'm Nurse Joy."
A Chansey with a small hat that has a pink plus sign on it hops off of a chair, "Chansey~"

Chauffeuse "I know this center is for Pokémon, but we have an emergency."
Girl "Gary..."
Joy blinks "What kind of emergency?"
The Chauffeuse explains that they think Umbreon has poisoned their escortee.
Joy "Oh my, an Umbreon poisoning? That's pretty rare."
Joy "I'll have to call the clinic in the city for advice."
The girls pout.
Joy "Don't worry I do this all the time."

Nurse Joy presses some buttons on her computer keyboard and it starts a video call.
Joy "Nurse Joy from Violet Road Pokémon Center, I got a case of Umbreon poisoning over here, Joy. Is it ok if you give me the run down on what to do?"
Apparently, she is talking with Violet City's nurse who is also named Joy.
The Joy in the call responds, "Oh my, we got maybe a dozen tonight! These Umbreon have gone crazy! But Weedle still top the charts. I have the antidote number right here."
They talk abit more and then call up someone else, and finally Joy turns to the girls.
Joy "I'll begin the transfer of the antidote straight away!"
The chauffeuse sighs "That's a relief..."

Chansey skips away and then returns with an antidote that looks like a trainer's antidote, but it has a label on it, "Pokémed Biological Institute" and the number 197 in big font.

Joy "Thank you, Chansey."
Chansey gives Joy the item, "Chansey~"
Joy "Do you mind if I see the patient?"

They go to the car outside. The chauffeuse presses the conversion button so Joy can see him.
Joy says worryingly, "I got the antidote... so this was the effect of Umbreon's poison?"
They say sadly "Yeah... he can't move at all."
Another girl says, "We've been driving for an hour."
Joy is quite surprised.
Joy "They said this is the 4th case tonight, but this is worse than the other ones... How big was the Umbreon?"
Girl "Bigger than average, like all of Gary's Pokémon..."
Joy "I think it would be good to keep watch over him overnight in the Pokémon Center."
Joy turns to Chansey, "Ok Chansey, get a stretcher."
"Chansey~"

Chansey returns with the stretcher and with amazing strength can somehow lift him and throw him on to the stretcher like it's nothing.
Joy "All of you can have a room in our hotel. No license necessary. There's food too."
They all thank Nurse Joy, and watch Chansey wheel Gary inside.
Now they just have to wait and hopefully Joy will return to tell them he'll make a full recovery soon.

Gary opens his eyes and sees bright artificial light.
He sits up with a start, "Huh? Where am I?"
Nurse Joy responds, "The Pokémon Center!"
Gary "The Pokémon Center? What am I, a Pokémon!"
Why did the girls bring me to a Pokémon Center...
Joy laughs "Your friends were quite worried you wouldn't make it. But glad you pulled through! I'll be happy to tell them."
She presses a button and a bing noise comes from out in the hallway, it's the red critical care light changing to green.
Gary "...Oh. I remember I was poisoned by Umbreon..."
Joy "Are you feeling ok? Do you have a headache at all?"
He notices a Pokémed Biological Institute antidote nearby.
Gary "Heh, well I guess I kinda do... not bad though..."
Joy "Oh. The poison has a paralysis effect, and your breathing was really shallow, before applying the antidote."
Nurse Joy puts a cold metal stethoscope on his back "Do me a favor and breathe some deep breaths, if you can."
So the paralysis could've stopped my breathing?
He breathes in quite sharply at the thought, but then breathes out normally.
Joy "Sounds good. You'll probably be okay to leave again on your journey tomorrow morning.", she smiles.

Joy "Where is this Umbreon that poisoned you, by the way?"
Gary sighs "It's in the forest somewhere. Ran away..."
Man, that makes me sound like a crummy Pokémon trainer, almost as crummy as that 4th-rate loser, Ash Ketchum.
Joy "Oh. Well, sorry to hear that, you're going to go looking for it?"
Gary nods, "Yeah."
Joy "Well, that's going to have to wait 'til tomorrow. You'll need a good nights rest. I have this antidote here that you can keep for if it poisons again. Do you wanna come with me to see your friends?"
"Ok.", Gary gets up abit lightheaded for awhile, but otherwise he's okay.

Gary feels like nothing happened after only an hour. Only slightly tired, and with a faded pawprint mark near his neck to show from the ordeal. The girls are relieved to see him, and so are his Pokémon, they are released from his Poké Balls to eat some of the center's Pokéfood. Eventually, it's time for everyone to go to bed in the center's hotel rooms.

Tomorrow morning...
Gary and the girls video call Prof. Oak using one of the center's PCs. They say Umbreon ran away near the Ruins of Alph. Oak says he is coincidentally in The Ruins of Alph right now and saw the moon event himself. "It was quite remarkable." He promises to mount a search party for Gary's missing Umbreon.
Oak "I'd like to study your Umbreon too, Gary, if you don't mind."
Gary "Okay, I just want to know that it's safe."
Oak "Yes. I'll call as soon as anyone finds your missing Pokémon."
Oak wishes his grandson a speedy recovery.
Then a TV news reporter asks Oak to do a segment. She practically yells it, "Professor Oak! Do you have time to do a segment?!", Gary sees alittle bit of her microphone and arm on the video call screen; a patch on the reporter's arm says CTV.
Oak "Oh welp, gotta go... good luck catchin' Pokémon! I'll catch you later!"
The video call ends, closing out to a screen with a cute Pidgey screensaver on it.

Gary "Let's turn on the TV. Do they get CTV here?"
They turn on the center's TV. Cycling through the channels with a remote, until they find the news channel, it's showing CTV News Live Now!

The news on TV covers the story: The volcano at the Ruins of Alph erupted fine smoke, which affected the color of the full moon that night.
The news reporter on TV from Pokémon CTV News is responsible for covering stories on-site. She explains the events, and then continues,
"And over here is the highly regarded Pokémon Professor, Prof. Oak who had seen the event from Alph Observatory! Pokémon Professor, take it away!"
The TV camera pans to Prof. Oak.
Gary smiles at seeing good ol' gramps on screen.
Oak is of his usual composure, a straight face with permanently furrowed eyebrows and a book at his side, "Yes, thank you. It certainly was a bright blue moon, a real once-in-a-blue- moon rare event! It's not the first time this has happened in Johto, a blue moon was previously recorded at Cherrygrove City's Quagsire preserve, aptly named Blue Moon Falls in the distant past. The air over the falls sometimes causes a refraction effect in the light of the moon causing moonlight to appear a bright blue color. It's caused by fine particles in the air. This is exactly what happened here in Violet, but with smoke from the area's volcano."
TV Reporter "Yes, you were here when the event happened?"
Prof. Oak nods, "Hm. Professor Hale, a good colleague of mine collected some stunning pictures, and we're still collecting data on the behavior of the Pokémon responses to this rare event."
The TV reporter returns to the mic, "Yes, thank you, Professor Oak."
She continues,
"The Kimono Girls report the smoke was visible from Ecruteak City and mistaken for a ghostly fire. Incidents of trainer's Moonlight Pokémon, Umbreon has reports of them going crazy at the sight of the blue moon and attacking their owners. Otherwise, the situation is under control, and the volcano in question is not considered a threat and won't erupt violently any time soon according to researchers at the site."

Gary feels faint on his feet and the floor feels like it's lifting up and down as if he's on a boat.
Woah, seems I still need to recover a little...
Gary decides to return to their hotel room in the Pokémon Center, to rest on the sofa, "I'm still tired, so I think I'll catch some Zs."
Girl "Are you feeling okay?"
Gary "Yeah."

He relaxes on the sofa.
Then thinks to himself, Catching those night Pokémon is gonna hafta wait 'til later.

Gary takes out his Pokédex from his pants pocket and relaxes on the sofa in his hotel room.
"Dexter, look up Pidgey nesting.", he says to the red electronic book.
Ping~

Pokédex
"Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. The young are born physically mature and battle-ready from the egg, but are tiny enough to fit in the palm of a hand with the fingers closed, and weigh less than a Poké coin..."
Gary pretzels his arms behind his head, and falls asleep on the sofa, fading into blackness, while listening to the soothing voice of the Pokédex.
