While the lost boys, Peter, and Tinkerbelle look for the shadow that Wendy sewed on once before. The shadow makes it to Wendy's house but it wasn't Wendy who found him, it was Mrs. Darling who found him. He tries to run but the voice of Mr. Darling's booming voice scares him to hide behind Mrs. Darling.
"My dear, have you seen my cufflinks? I need them for work tomorrow," says Mr. Darling.
"I cleaned them up they should be drying in the kitchen," says Mrs. Darling.
She looks behind her and Mr. Darling notices and looks at her puzzled.
"What are you hiding?" asks Mr. Darling.
"I have no idea, honestly, *moves out of the way* this creature came out of nowhere, he seems scared…" says Mrs. Darling.
"He?! It is a creature get rid of it! Now!" screams Mr. Darling.
The screaming made Peter's shadow scared and makes him run away up onto the ceiling and makes Mr. Darling chased him around the house.
"George! You'll wake the children!" says Mrs. Darling.
"Confound it Mary then you find it and get it out of the house! I am going to bed!" says Mr. Darling.
He storms off into a different room, Mrs. Darling calms the scared shadow down and takes his hand gently.
"There there I will show you a place where you can hide. The children aren't allowed to mess with this object and I will get you into this place before my husband calms down and comes to apologize for his anger, come with me little one," says Mrs. Darling.
She leads him to the living room and takes down a portrait where she shows him a switch. She flips the switch over and the shadow becomes 1D and he starts panicking. She calms him down and lets him know that this way even if her husband comes to this realm, he won't be in danger and can hide here until his owner comes for him. She lets him know that he is welcome to roam around the house in this form and to stay in the house because she doesn't want him to get lost. The shadow nods and she pats his head best she can. She explained that this is a "real" world in a way so over here he is a normal shadow that's why he can only move in certain lights. He nods in understanding and starts moving around to see what light is needed.
"When your owner comes , I will come get you though you do look like someone my children knows...so maybe my children will come get you. Either way, I hope you get home safe soon. I must get back, this house will look like my house so everything will be the same no matter where you go in this house. I have to go now," says Mrs. Darling.
She leaves right away so her husband doesn't get suspicious. She finds him in the kitchen checking on his cufflinks; he apologizes after he hears what he wants to hear and that the shadow is gone. This isn't a lie, the shadow is in a different dimension, she informs him that she is a bit tired and heads to bed after putting the portrait back. She knows that the shadow is moving around by the creaking of the floorboard. She pretends not to notice and goes to bed.
In the meantime, after checking all of Mermaid Lagoon and Hook's ship while he is recovering from the defeat of the lost boys, Tinkerbell and Peterpan. The children all decide to go to bed. Peter Pan can't sleep but he does try. He doesn't want to worry Tinkerbell and the lost boys. He knows Tinkerbell feels awful about what happened because she wanted to search all night for the shadow but it was getting too late and the lost boys were getting tired. It was time for them to go home. Early the next morning the group started their search again. They started at the Hangman's tree, then went to Skull Island, then broke for lunch. They started to search the forest but there was nothing.
They searched the forest for three days straight. They then took a break for two days and went for a swim at Cannibal Cove. Where Peter checked there with Tinkerbell before taking a swimming break themselves. Tinkerbell watched in the distance. In those five days, the shadow got to know what the empty house layout looked like. On day five he was ready to go home and was wondering what was taking Peter so long. He knew where the portrait was so was trying to pull the lever down, but it was too heavy. He spent the day drawing up plans to pull the lever down. It wasn't completely lonely when the children were at school and Mr. Darling was at work, Mrs. Darling would check on him to make sure he wasn't going stir crazy and would bring him toys to play with for the day. Then come back for it so the children wouldn't be suspicious of where their toys have gone. So he wouldn't be bored she made it into a game of hide and go seek. Then she would go back to taking care of the house. Meanwhile, on day six the lost boys, Peter and Tinkerbell went to the Indian camp, paid their respects, and searched the Indian camp with help of the Indians. Then Tiger Lily joined the search with some guards and they all researched the grounds that the boys and Tinkerbell already searched but came up empty-handed.
