Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the Valkyrie and the immortal. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own VK, Sega, Ryutaro Nonaka and Shuntaro Tanaka do.
Caton felt the pain slowly shut down. It ebbed away little by little as the doors slid open.
"We need to leave." Caton heard while he sat up and blinked at the doctor. She pulled the gauntly boy while he hummed slightly to himself.
"Where are we going?" Caton asked while following after her. "Aren't you the doctor who…" Caton got out which was left easily left in the dust.
There was nothing but empty air. Caton knew that he had really anything he could really say anyway. He guessed that this woman wasn't exactly with the empire. The empire wouldn't do something without at least giving instructions. They didn't want their toys hurt or damaged.
"You need to go with Aliasse and leave." The doctor stated which caused him to nod.
Aliasse… He knew that name, it was the wild girl who was selected for an operation with the same importance as his. He knew that girl was as wild and untamed as he was timid and cautious.
"Are we running away?" Caton asked, not knowing what would come of them if they got away. "And are we not coming back?" Caton questioned and got a nod.
That was all the information he needed. It was all the information he would need to know.
"Their kill you for helping us." Caton said while his eyes narrowed. "They want you dead…" Caton added which got no answer as well.
The doctor knew. The empire didn't allow any personal to live if they were a danger to their plans… And them losing some of their best soldiers to begin with? It wouldn't help her case. But she didn't care, their safety was more important than hers.
"Aliasse, take Caton and go." Caton heard from the doctor as a figure ran up to them.
It was a sliver haired girl…. Aliasse. He had been told that her hair was special, as was the shield and sword that she wielded were. Maybe that was why the empire had invested so many resources into her.
"Are we moving to Gallia, mama?" Aliasse asked which got a nod from her mother.
It made her hum at the moment as she turned to look at Caton. The boy looked over his shoulder at the sound of boots marching towards them.
"What's the pl…" Caton got out before a group of Imperial soldiers approached them. "Stay behind us." Caton said as he and Alliase stood in front of the scientist.
"Damn brats!" One of the soldiers growled. "The doctor will have our head if we let them escape. Subdue them non lethally." The soldier stated as both Aliasse and Caton looked at each other.
Both knew the empire wouldn't kill them. The research and the costs it would give the empire were FAR too valuable when it came down to it.
"I don't have a weapon." Caton said which scared the doctor. These were children, teenagers who were just barely beginning their lives.
"We don't need them." Aliasse said while pointing the lance at the soldiers. "Just stick behind me." Aliasse said as an energy blast shot from her lance at the soldiers in question.
It threw them away, shattering armor and crumpling their bodies to the side. Caton winced and looked away from this carnage, but said nothing at the moment.
This was far more violence then he was used to… But he knew blasted well that it wouldn't be the last time that he saw anything close to it.
Still? He picked up one of their dropped rifles and pointed it in the direction of the soldiers. He could hear more as they turned and ran. There would be more when it came down to it.
Caton knew there would be more… Soldiers came in thousands of numbers when it came down for it. And they would sacrifice themselves when it came down to it.
"We need to go faster." Caton said while he turned to look over his shoulder. "There will be more soldiers, they wont let us out at the moment." Caton added while readying the gun at the moment.
He could only begin to think of what would become of them when they arrived. Caton could only begin to think of Gallia. He knew of very little of the country. It was a target, nothing more, nothing less.
It scared him far more then he could even begin to imagine. Caton hummed and looked at Aliasse. She wasn't ready for battle. Then again? The combat was much more then ANY teenager should go through.
"Then we go through them…" Aliasse stated as she turned to look to the side.
Caton said nothing, knowing very well that violence wouldn't help… At least, not in the end of things.
"This is not going to be fun, is it?" Caton said and rolled his own eyes.
