Today was the day that Team Fumi was going to be doing their first real mission, and I was super excited. Eito and Raichi made up mostly because Fumi Sensei and I both beat up Raichi for hurting Eito's feelings and because we were a team. Right now we were waiting for Fumi Sensei to show up and it was almost noon, she never pegged me as one that would be super late.
"So how much longer do you think we're going to have to wait here? I'm so bored, and if I knew she was going to be late I would've just stayed in bed." Raichi said, yawning. I kind of agreed with him on this one, I could've totally stayed in bed a couple of extra hours. "Maybe Fumi Sensei is in some sort of trouble?" Eito said quietly. I shook my head and stood up.
No way she would be in trouble. She's a Jonin and there are a bunch of other Jonin's around for something random to happen to her.
"No, she's just being late, she might've had a sleepy start," I said kicking a rock. "Since we are at the training grounds we can try to get a little bit of training done, maybe Eito-kun you can show Rai-kun some cool Chakra controlling techniques and Rai-kun you can show Eito some awesome strength techniques. And I'll learn both." Eito stood up beside me and nodded with Raichi sighing.
"I guess that is better than just sitting around and not doing anything." I nodded as Raichi slowly got up. We trained for about an hour before a very sleepy-looking Fumi Sensei walked into the clearing.
"Sorry I took so long guys, I didn't get much sleep last night so I slept in a bit. Oh, look at you guys training without me. You're looking like a real Team, pretty soon we're going to be leaving the village." Raichi ran up to Fumi Sensei and smiled widely at the thought of leaving the village for a mission.
"Ok we're done training, let's go start our missions I'm ready for whatever ninja wants to throw hands at me," Raichi yelled, throwing a couple of punches and kicks to the air. "Sensei, what type of missions are we going to be doing?" Fumi Sensei thought for a minute and nodded. "Only "D" and "C" rank for now until I see how well you guys use teamwork. If you impress me I might be able to convince Iruka and the Hokage to give you guys a lower level "B" rank mission."
I'm sure all of our eyes lit up when we heard her, but before we got to "B" rank we had to do a bunch of lame "D" rank missions. Let me tell you, they were the worst. It went from doing people's laundry to yard work, pulling weeds, and picking up garbage. They were horrible missions, this is the stuff they need to have felons do not ninja's in training.
"Alright guys, great job today and be ready for tomorrow." Fumi Sensei said disappearing.
"Today sucked, I say when we see her tomorrow we ask for something better than doing other people's chores," Raichi said, stomping his foot. "I usually don't agree with him but Raichi-san is right. These missions are horrible and I think we should say something." Raichi and I looked over at Eito as our jaws dropped.
Eito looked between the two of us before blushing and looking down. "Ok, tomorrow we tell Fumi Sensei that we want a better mission than the ones we've been doing," I said as the others nodded in agreement. Raichi ran off a bit later to do whatever it is Raichi's do leaving Eito and me alone.
"Are you hungry? Do you want to get something to eat or just go home?" I asked, smiling at Eito. "I'm not hungry but if you want to go somewhere we can. I don't mind." I nodded, grabbing his hand and pulling him to the Dango Shop. "I hope you like sweets because I know I do," I said, getting two orders of dango and tea.
"So Eito tell me about yourself. We are acquaintances and teammates but we know nothing about you, only that you're smart and very rich. In my head that makes you amazing husband material." Eito's face burned red and chuckled at his embarrassment.
"Just kidding, as you alrigh..." I stopped talking when I noticed Eito looking like he wanted to say something.
"Tsubaki-chan, I like you. That's why I'm so...bad at talking and acting. You're so pretty and graceful with everything you do and I can't believe I just told you." I blushed and ate my dango quietly. "You're pretty great too Eito, however, we need to up your confidence level," I said, patting his head. "Plus I'm too young to date right now. So starting tomorrow when we confront Sensei we work on your confidence as well." Eito blushed and nodded.
We finished our dango and said our goodbyes, as I was heading home I noticed Sakura moping towards the house. "
What's wrong with you? Did Sasuke hurt your feelings?" Sakura frowned and went to hit me but I moved out of the way. "Boo-hoo Sasuke likes another girl. Does that make you angry that you're not going to marry the great Sasuke Uchiha?" I yelled running towards the house with Sakura chasing behind me. As soon as I got to the house Sakura tackled me and we both fell in the house.
"You're hurting me, get off." "Don't make fun of me then and I won't have to hurt... Ow!" I felt someone lift her off of me as I was pulled away. "Why are you two always at each other's throats. Go upstairs and wash up, dinner will be ready soon." Mom pushed us towards the stairs. "I'm not hungry," Sakura and I said in unison as we raced upstairs pushing each other out of the way.
I ran into my room and slammed the door shut as she slammed hers. I changed and hopped into bed with a scroll I'd taken from the Academy. I told myself as soon as I learned the jutsu I would return it but I kind of enjoyed learning. I opened the scroll and focused on my chakra control, I focused on moving my chakra to the palm of my hands.
After a few hours of practicing there was a knock on my window freaking me out, I turned and saw Sasuke looking in and looking bored. I ran over to the window and let Sasuke in, he raised an eyebrow when he saw the scroll laying on the floor. "Did you steal that scroll?" He asked, leaning against the wall. I made a face at him before going back to controlling my chakra. Just from training with Rachi and Eito this morning I know they both surpass me by far.
I can't be so far behind them. I have to get stronger and I'll only do that but learn to control my chakra. "I have to get stronger, I realized today that I'm much weaker than my teammates so I can't let myself get any further behind. I will get stronger and I will prove to them that I don't need them to save me." I heard Sasuke sit down beside me.
I looked over at him and as he looked down at the scroll. "This stuff is easy, you should be able to get it down in no time. I'm going home, don't overexert yourself." Sasuke let himself out and I smiled and looked back. Sakura would go crazy if she knew Sasuke was just in the house, I would never admit it to anyone but I had a bit of a crush on my old friend.
The only difference between me and Sakura is that I don't fangirl over Sasuke and if I wanted to be by his side I didn't have to fight anyone off or worry about Sasuke pushing me away because we had a history. Sasuke and I first met when I ran away from home, well I was attempting to run away but I didn't get too far.
I ran right into him and his brother ever since then we've been friends, I guess I'll have to tell you the full story some other time. But for now, my main focus is on my chakra. I fell asleep practicing my chakra control and woke up to someone pounding on my door. When I didn't open the door right away it was thrown open and Raichi stomped in.
` "Wake up man, we're ready to confront Sensei and you're here sleeping. I'm supposed to be the one that is sleeping all the time." Raichi said, pulling me up. I looked towards the door and noticed Eito blushing and looking around my room. "I'm in Tt...Tsubaki-chan's room?" Raichi rolled his eyes and walked out of the room pushing Eito out and closing the door.
I quickly got dressed and ran out of the room, they were waiting for me downstairs at the table. Dad was grilling Eito and Raichi was doing what he does best and that's eat.
"Come on guys, good morning and goodbye," I yelled running out of the house with Eito and Raichi on my tail. When we arrived at the training spot Fumi Sensei was sitting on the ground with her eyes closed.
"Good morning Fumi Sensei, sorry we're late I slept in." I said bowing, she got up and smiled at the three of us. "You kids look like you need to tell me something. What is it?" I looked back at Eito and Raichi and they nodded at me before looking at Fumi Sensei. "We want a better mission. One that can test our skills by not doing other people's dirty work." I said frowning.
"We know how to get along and use teamwork and I'm sure you know that. You've seen us use teamwork so I know you know that we can do it." I said confidently. Fumi Sensei smiled and shrugged. "Let's go talk to Lord Hokage and see if he thinks you guys deserve a higher rank mission." The three of us high-fived each other before following Fumi Sensei.
When we got to the Hokage's office Sakura's team was walking out, I waved at Sasuke and he nodded towards me. "Are you guys going on an awesome mission like we are? I bet not." Naruto yelled laughing loudly. I ignored him and looked over at Fumi Sensei and the other Jonin, it was obvious they knew each other. It was very obvious they were very familiar when I noticed Fumi Sensei blushing.
Oh my gosh, is this Jonin Fumi Sensei's boyfriend? Or maybe she likes him. Hmm. Their team went on their way and we walked into the room. "Ah, Fumi how are you doing today?"
"We want a better mission," Raichi yelled before Fumi Sensei could say anything. I slapped Raichi's head and apologized to Lord Hokage.
"What Raichi-kun means is we are ready for something harder than just pulling weeds or doing laundry," I said bowing. Eito bowed beside me and I heard Lord Hokage laugh. "These kids are in such a hurry to grow up. Well I just gave team Kakashi a "C" rank mission I guess it will only be fair to give you one as well. This is a delivery to a few villages down. Make sure you get it in one piece and deliver it to the right owner." Eito, Raichi, and I all bowed and nodded.
Funi Sensei led us out of the office before hitting all of us over the head. "That's for being impulsive but it's good you all took charge and told him what you wanted and for that, I'll give you the rest of the day off and treat you to dinner. That way you all are nice and rested up for tomorrow." Raichi and I high-fived each other and I gave Eito and Raichi a large smile. Oh yeah, without a doubt have the best team ever.
