Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Hair-Raising Adventures. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Gunvolt, Inti Creates and a few others do.
The adapts were a very unique race to Desna in her mind. There was such an interest that she didn't know at the moment. She pondered what one was doing in space. She looked through the stars.
"What is one doing here at the moment?" Desna asked. "I can feel their radiance. Their brightness… It eclipses Zonda's…" Desna said and brushed her hair backwards.
She balanced in the middle of her hair; it created an artificial cocoon on which she balanced. She meditated on it and pondered what would be creating it.
Desna could feel Zonda's group was slowly falling apart. They were gone, her future with them were gone anyway. Desna could see her future clearly, it was here.
She opened her eyes as a source of light slowly started to fly up to the escape pod. Desna hummed and looked at the adept… It latched onto the pod.
The being was wrapped in armor like a superhero. She knew for a fact that it kept him from suffocating.
"A visitor?" The adept asked as he floated on thrusters from his armor. "Why are you here? Nobody was supposed to find me here…" The adept put in as he cracked his head to the side.
Desna placed her hands on the pod door. The adept's armor featured pincers like a spider. He looked at her with such interest that he couldn't really do much of anything at the moment.
He hummed and floated away, energy swirling around him as his thrusters slowly pushed him away from her.
"I am Desna, oh luminant one…" Desna stated while looking to the side. "And you?" Desna asked, her golden eyes signing like stars in the night sky.
The adept blinked, curious as to why someone would come out to the vacuum of space. There was supposed to be nobody capable of finding him. He could only question what was driving him to be here… Yes, this was far more interesting.
But still? This was a very interesting which made him curious… And when he was curious? Well, that made him want to investigate.
He turned to the space station… A project which they wanted to bring… But humanity was gone, and adepts like him? They were exiled to space.
The adept turned and floated the pod towards the station. It was abandoned, but there was still enough food to survive… Shelter from the cold endless winter that was space.
To survive out where monsters lived? You had to be willing to take advantage of what would come next. There was plenty to discuss.
"How did you find me?" He questioned, sparks dancing around his helmet. "This location was something I kept secret. This is where monsters at the moment stay." He stated and sighed with a deep breath once more.
His breath hurt, but it was a necessary part of life. His body hurt more then anything at the moment.
His armor sparked as he turned and looked around at the moment. He could only ponder what lead someone to this corner of the galaxy.
"You know… Your far more interesting then it became down to it." He said as Desna hummed. "I don't know why anyone would want to come here at the moment…" The Adept put in at the moment while he cracked his neck.
"I answered the summons in my visions, luminant one." Desna said which was greeted by a hum. "You wanted me here, I could feel it in my visions… So, I came, arrived on a comet of fire." Desna added which made the adept raise an eyebrow and shake his head with interest.
He had made no such summons… But it still made him far more curious. Another adept like her? who was she? What brought her here?
"I… Maybe I did." The adept said, not sure at the moment. "There are things not even I know for a fact that my powers are… Unnatural, they are something that I cannot begin to imagine. They gifted me the ability to live among the stars, but it is a curse." The adept added and shook his head.
"The stars are beautiful and undeserving of our splendor." Desna stated while she balanced on her hair. "That is why I study them… I cannot believe I would meet their lord." Desna stated as the adept turned to look at her.
He was quite interested in the arrival of the adept. The arrival of another made him very curious if there was going to be more arrivals. Still? He was going to need time to process things.
A lot more time then it seemed he'd be afforded… For where there was another of his kind? He was sure to discover there would be more… Far more then he believed he was ready for.
The adept closed his eyes while flying towards the station.
