There are times when people fall in love for stupid reasons.
Others fall in love because of magic.
But her? She fell in love because of memory loss.
Mephisto stepped toward Talia. "We're your friends, you're okay, you just fell in battle..." He said - trying to reassure her everything was alright. "Get away from me!" She yelled. "Amaru!" Amaru said, wiggling in Talia's arms. "Amaru come here." Auriana said, opening her arms. "Amaru!" He said again, jumping out of Talia's arms and into Auriana's.
Talia looked scared when the Quillcat abandoned her for one of the unknown girls - she backed up even further until she was up against the wall. "Talia it's okay." Iris said, holding out her hand to her friend. "Don't touch me!" She yelled once more, throwing her hands out in front of her - a shield of blue crystal appearing.
All three of them backed away. "Give her space guys." Auriana whispered - Amaru suddenly jumping out of her arms and hugging Talia's leg. "Amaru?" He said questioningly, she looked down and picked him up, her back sliding down the wall until she was sitting on the floor. "I wanna go home Amaru..." She sobbed, this was so unlike Talia, she had become the complete opposite of the confident, serious, and sassy girl that Mephisto had come to know, and to love.
Auriana and Iris both looked at one another - one question came to their minds and both came to the same conclusion. "When she fell in battle she must of gotten hit in the head by one of the crystals or hit the floor of the arena too hard, she's lost her memories of us, you, Praxina, Gramorr, Amaru, Ephedia, Xeris, and Izira." They both said at the same time. "Please don't hurt me!" The brunette cried - covering her face with her hands.
The way she acted tugged really hard on his heart, so he approached her slowly and placed his hands on her shoulders. "Talia dear, it's alright, we won't hurt you, we're here to help, I promised you everything would be okay." Mephisto said, smiling slightly - had he known that she would take the whole being called 'dear' thing a little bit too seriously then he wouldn't have said it.
Since the next thing he knew she was kissing him! On the lips! With both Auriana and Iris watching them with deadpan stares. "That just happened... Are you seeing this?" Auriana asked, Iris nodded. "I see it but I don't think I believe it." Iris said. "Amaru!" Amaru said - covering his eyes with his paws as if he had said 'Gross!', but this still presented a major problem for the group.
See the problem here is that Talia is the leader of the group, she schedules things and holds practices, and not to mention she is the authority of the group, but since she has memory loss and didn't recognize Auriana or Iris then how was she going to lead them? The answer to that is she can't, Iris or Auriana will have to lead until Talia is back to normal.
Until then, they were going to have to figure out how to get her back to her old self, they'd just have to tell her things about her until she was able to piece it all together, otherwise they'd lose her for good - and to make matters worse Talia now thinks that Mephisto is her boyfriend!
The girls did everything they possibly could to keep Mephisto and Talia separate - much to their pleading and begging not to be kept apart, Amaru was the only one who really stood between them. When they went about practicing for their next concert they decided to go for a song they'd done before like they always did, though it was going to be hard to do this particular song without Talia.
Mephisto and Talia watched Iris and Auriana practicing dancing, Amaru snuggled up on the brunette's lap and purred contentedly as she petted him. "It's nice, spending time with you and Amaru." She said, smiling at Mephisto, a soft red blush coating her cheeks as she stared up at him through her eyelashes. "I find it nice just spending time with you." He remarked, brushing a strand of her chocolate colored hair off her forehead.
Amaru jumped up and smacked Mephisto's hand away with a dark purple paw. "Amaru!" He chided the teen. "Amaru you're not my dad, I'm allowed to date whoever I want!" Talia retorted, this argument between girl and cat lasted until the end of practice - when she and Mephisto left to go on a picnic date.
Iris and Auriana waved bye to Talia and Mephisto despite not wanting her to be alone with him away from them, Amaru seemed unhappy about it. "Oh calm down Amaru, it's not like Mephisto and Talia are gonna do anything nasty on their date!" Auriana snickered. "Uh, right?" She asked, looking at Iris. "I hope not." The blonde answered. "We should keep an eye on them - just in case."
Auriana held her hand in front of Iris's face, just as Iris did the exact same to her. "They did." "Why?!" Auriana asked frantically. "They're teenagers! But I never wanted to see that!" Iris said, waving her free hand to try and turn off the drone that was watching Talia and Mephisto - she eventually turned it off. "Next time we spy on Talia we shouldn't use a visual drone! Or at least one with less attention to detail!" Auriana said, throwing her hands up in exasperation.
After that they waited for Talia to come home, they waited, and waited, and waited some more, and they just kept on waiting for her to come back to the house so they could 'chew her out'.
She didn't come home that night.
