It was a private beach day, Giovanni and Paula along with their kids. Just a day to all get together to relax and unwind.
Artemis was wearing a dark green bikini, sitting on a blanket and talking with Zatanna who was wearing a dark purple one-piece swimsuit. Both had already swam and were now taking a break.
"So wait," Artemis stopped Zatanna, "you did what?"
"I get so frustrated during the test that I set a tree by the window on fire." Zatanna said. "It was a question I got right, but it was worded so stupidly. And that's coming from a backwards talker."
Artemis snorted. "Still metal as heck." She looked over to the waters edge to see their parents walking along the sand. Well, Paula was standing on Giovanni's feet and he was walking them along the wet sand.
"I know, they look so cute." Zatanna said with a smile. "I hope to one day have what they do."
Artemis laughed. "What? Faith, love and pixie dust?"
"Duh."
As the two made jokes, Giovanni and Paula walked along the sand.
"This was a wonderful idea." Paula said, pulling Giovanni's hand to her lips and kissing it. Her attire was a simple dark blue beach sundress with gold flowers, flip flops - which were on the towel by her chair- and a sun hat.
"Yes, and I thank you for it." Giovanni stroked her cheek with his thumb. He was wearing an off white tank top, dark orange drawstring shorts and he also brought flip flops - again, by the towel.
Paula laughed, turning her head to kiss his thumb. "That wasn't entirely my idea, but I won't stop you from showering me with praise."
Giovanni hummed, looking at the water that gently rushed up it's line and along their feet before going back again. He looked over to her again. "So your having a good time?" He kissed her cheek as he turned them back to walk the opposite end of the shoreline.
"Yes." Paula leaned her head back onto his shoulder with a smile. "I love you."
"I love you too." He gave her a few more kisses, pausing to let the water rush over their feet.
Back on the beach, Zatanna was smiling at them. "Aww! Those two are so romantic!"
Artemis, who had gotten them some drinks and then come back, rolled her eyes with a smile. "Sure. I'm just happy that she's happy with him. She.. deserved better than Crusher."
"You do too." Zatanna justified, turning to look at Artemis. "I don't mind sharing my dad if you need a father-figure that isn't going to hurt you like he did."
Artemis smiled. "Thanks. Same goes for you with my mom. I know she'd love to have someone to talk about girl stuff with, cause Jade and I weren't really the girly types."
Zatanna snorted. "Fair."
Giovanni and Paula joined them back on the dry sand. To be honest Giovanni was getting a little tired but it was worth it to help Paula feel more normal. Paula was too, but she could tell Giovanni was having a good time so she didn't say anything.
"Can I take a picture?" Zatanna asked them, pulling her phone out of the basket.
They agreed to it and took the picture, all smiling, all having a good time. Zatanna, without thinking, posted it online out of habit before putting her phone away to enjoy the rest of the time with everyone.
"Uh.. Ollie?" Dinah looked at her boyfriend, the two relaxing by the pool.
"What's up Dinah? You want more lemonade?" Ollie asked, looking concerned.
"No, I'm fine thanks." She shook her head at him. "But you should see what Zatanna posted."
"
Are you seriously looking at the kids' social medias?" Ollie said, before deciding to indulge her. His eyes widened at the picture. "Well, son of a bitch - I owe Barry a hundred and fifty bucks."
Dinah looked at him again. "I think we have bigger problems."
"What? She's a civilian now and can't do anything, also she's Artemis' mom and Giovanni can handle himself." He wasn't bothered by it. "Name one problem."
"Batman, once he finds out. Those two look way too comfy to have just started out." Dinah said, worry in her voice.
"Look, their business is their business. If Batman wants to be concerned, maybe he should keep to himself for once." Ollie said, scratching his cheek. "That guy is gonna be the cause of the League falling apart if he isn't careful."
Dinah nodded with a sigh. "I know." She then smiled. "Well, at least we'll have someone to go on double dates with now." This got a laugh from Ollie.
