The Gilmore house was still very quiet and the two Lorelais were stubborn as hell. The family was getting ready for Friday night dinner. Victoria approached her mother's bedroom door and knocked. "Come on in sweets," Lorelai said. Victoria opened the door and stood by the frame. "You look nice, mom. I wanted to let you know I'll try and run interference for you tonight to the best of my abilities. Scouts honor." She said while holding a salute. Lorelai laughed, "Thanks honey. I just hope Rory thaws a little before then." She said as she put her hair in a low pony. "I really doubt it. I'll get the hair dryer. Meet you downstairs." Victoria said and winked. She decided to try and have a talk with Rory, but most of the time they really didn't work. "Hey Ror, how are you?" Victoria said as she saw Rory in the kitchen. Rory smiled lightly. She knew Victoria was trying but she wasn't in a mood to budge. "I'm okay, thanks." She said as she closed the fridge. Lorelai began making her way down the stairs when she heard her girls, "You're going to great things one day. Whether it's here or at Chilton. Stars Hollow is always home. Chilton is just another social dynamic you'll get to experience, something you must be part of. I can't even imagine the stories you'll write on their paper. Just.. Rory, don't pass this up." Victoria said and Lorelai spoke, "ready girls?" The twins smiled and headed to the door. Lorelai snuck a quick "thank you" in her direction. She knew Rory was thinking about what her sister had said. All three Gilmore women stood at the door, "Whenever you're mentally ready, mom," Victoria said. Lorelai groaned, "which is never," as she knocked on the door. Emily Gilmore opened the door, which was unusual. "Hello! So nice to see my girls the day the banks are open! Except we do see you my dear." She said as she touched the tip of Victoria's nose. Rory looked at her sister with a surprised look on her face. Victoria let thy face roll right off because she was happy to be there. They entered the living room, "Look who is here Richard," Emily spoke with pride. "Hi grandpa!" Victoria said as she walked up to her grandfather to squeeze his hand. "Girls, lovely to see you! Lorelai, your girls are tall!" He beamed. "In fact, Victoria looks like you've grown from the last time you were here." He said smiling. "Yeah it's freakish, I'm thinking of having them studied at MIT," Lorelai said, attempting to crack a joke. The girls chuckled, in an attempt to help their mother. "So, Rory tell us all about Chilton!" Their grandmother asked, eager to know more, as always.

"I haven't even started yet. But the uniforms are nice." Rory said politely. "Oh, I can't wait to see you in that darling uniform." Emily began. She then turned to Victoria, "I wish you wanted to go to Chilton, you'd look so nice with the uniform, with your figure, you look nice in anything." Emily said. Victoria blushed, the girls were twins yes, but they weren't identical, or even developed the same. Victoria was well aware of her body development while Rory still remained the same. "Thanks grandma. Tell you what I'll wear for Halloween." Victoria joked. The grandparents laughed which caused a little shock to Lorelai. Her parents never laughed at anything she said. The family moved to the dining room promptly at 7 o'clock. "So, grandpa how's the insurance biz?" Rory asks in an attempt to get to know her grandfather more than her sister. Richard replied solemnly, "Oh, people die, we pay. People crash cars, we pay." And continued to ask, "how are things at the motel?" He turned to ask Lorelai. "The inn?" She corrected, "they're great." As she sipped her wine. "She's the executive manager now," Victoria chummed in. Lorelai smiled and then their father was brought into the conversation which was definitely not expected. "I'm sorry, how does he fall into this conversation exactly?" Victoria asked, "His internet startup goes public next month. Very talented man your father is," Richard said proudly. Victoria rolled her eyes and Rory smiled. Rory liked their father, she loved him. While Victoria was rather indifferent. "He always was a smart one, that boy. You must take after him." Richards said. Victoria's eyes grew wide and her mouth was open which she soon closed after taking a look at their grandmother. Rory said nothing and Lorelai went to the kitchen to take her anger out on the dishes. Emily followed of course. Then the yelling really began. "Well, I wasn't too proud to come here to you two begging for money for my kid's school, was i?!" Lorelai yelled and Rory immediately looked at her sister. Who clearly knew the big secret. Richard was sleeping. All Victoria did was raise her eyebrow and that moment Victoria swore she saw the ice completely melt away from Rory's being. They left the house and headed towards the Jeep, "I can't believe you knew and didnt think to tell me!" Rory scorned her sister. Lorelai immediately turned back, "You knew?" she asked Victoria. Victoria crossed her arms, "Yes, I did. My window was open when I came back from work, I heard you and Sookie." she then turned to her sister in the front seat. "I didn't think to tell you, because when it comes to finances, our mothers finances, its not my job to tell you, even if it does concern you and your education! Mom has always provided for us, made sure you always had your books and what not. We didn't need to know then where the money was coming from, did we?!" Victoria said sternly. "Sometimes Rory, I don't think you understand that, you don't need to know everything. We are still children." Rory was left feeling ashamed and speechless. Which was something Rory Gilmore ever was and neither was Lorelai. Lorelai felt proud and felt like her oldest needed to hear that. "I'm sorry, Mom. How many meals do you think it'll take to get us off the hook?" Rory said to lighten up the mood. Lorelai smiled, "oh, honey, you won't be sorry!" She said as she grabbed Rory's head and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Victoria giggled, "Mind cranking the tunes?" she said. The Gilmores did just that, headed home.
