Accidents Happen

Everything hurt. Marinette knew she was clumsy, but not clumsy enough to fall down two flights of stairs, breaking her leg and spraining her wrist. The accident also gave her a mild concussion, so she had a terrible headache. She had been out of school for about two weeks now, and wouldn't be coming back for another two.

All that Marinette could do right now is sit in her bed, draw, knit, talk to people, and heal. God, she was in pain AND she was bored.

But now it was lunchtime on a Tuesday, and her stomach was rumbling. Her parents had to leave to cater an event that was happening across town, so they weren't there to give her anything to eat. At this point, she would eat her bed sheets. She hadn't eaten all day.

It was almost One PM, and Marinette's hope of eating was slowly vanishing. But, as the clock hit 12:30, she wasn't disappointed. She heard a tap above her, and looked up to see Chat Noir staring at her through the glass, while holding a picnic basket.

Marinette opened the trapdoor above her. "You are a lifesaver." she smiled. He smiled back, slowly making his way onto the bed, attempting to not jostle her leg or arm. Eventually, he settled down next to her.

Chat opened the picnic basket, and inside was two sandwiches, a couple boxes of juice, and about a dozen chocolate croissants.

Marinette looked at Chat and laughed. He had obviously taken something from the event her parents were catering. And of course he had grabbed the croissants.

"Why are you laughing, purr-incess?" he asked her. He couldn't blame her, of course. He had snagged half the stock of croissants, but in his defense, they're REALLY good. So he just started laughing with her.

After they calmed down and they could breathe again, Chat asked, "How are you feeling, Mari? I'm sure everything still hurts." Marinette looked down at herself. Yeah, she wasn't feeling that great, but she didn't want him to worry, so she just said, "I'm fine."

Chat was a bit annoyed. He had sprained his ankle once, and he wasn't fine. Marinette had broken something AND sprained something. She obviously wasn't fine. "Are you sure? You can talk to me, princess. Accidents happen, there's no need to hide anything."

She looked at Chat with the most love filled eyes she had ever given him. She tried to give him a hug, but couldn't, because the second she sat up to do so, he pushed her back down. "Nope, you aren't going to move a muscle until you feel better."

Ignoring him, Marinette leaned up just a little to kiss him on the nose. "Silly Kitty, I'll be okay." And in all the time she spent with Chat, she had never seen him blush that much.
