Kagome was kneeling before the throne.

"Priestess." Odin said to her. "You are a rare and valuable addition to my court. And Thor speaks highly of you. My wife, Frigga, has reminded me of the need of such a power in our kingdom. But..." He leaned in, imposing and powerful. "You must pledge fealty to my son and the future king. Become his priestess, Kagome. Serve Asgard with your life."

Now Kagome understood. Odin feared her. He feared magic and anything he did not understand. He was nothing like his open minded, joyful son.

Hiding her defiant smirk, Kagome nodded in agreement.

She stood and headed to the ceremony. It wasn't much. They knew nothing of oaths and bonding, but they seemed to believe her loyal to Thor and the Crown.

Thor grabbed her hand and pulled her to the feast hall. "Do not be downcast, my lady! Come! We feast!"

"Well I am hungry."

"Wonderful!"

Nothing seemed to get him down.
