While all the chaos was happening, school was still in session. History was the lesson right now, the exact subject being Mythical Beasts of the Past.

"Ok Jack, it's your turn, what is your subject on?" The teacher asked. A dark-haired boy, age 12, stood up and walked to the board.

"My subject is on a group of Mythical Beasts that were sealed away by, according to the history, Merlin," he explained. One of the students, a curly-haired kid by the name of Hunter De Vil, groaned, though the teacher shushed him.

"These Mythical Beasts lived in ancient times, and because us humans are paranoid, we thought they were dangerous, and so, sought to kill them. According to some records, they weren't dangerous, but whatever was the reasoning, apparently, they were sealed in stone for all eternity," he explained. At that moment, the lunch bell rang, and the class filed out.

Elsewhere, in the swamps of Flordia, deep underwater, a statue started to crack and crumble as the beast, a hydra to be precise, awoke. With a pink flash, the three heads separated into their own bodies, shattering the stone. The trio looked towards each other and nodded before swimming up to the surface. Upon clambering to shore, they took a moment to catch their breath, taken back by how dirty the water was. They all looked the same, minus the gem on their chest, which was shaped like a diamond, heart, and circle.

"How long were we asleep," the one with the heart-shaped gem asked.

"No idea, but, like, did you taste how NASTY the water was? The one with the diamond jewel asked, gagging and showing her forked tongue.

The last hydra component nodded, her head fin twitching.

"It must have been centuries since we were awake," she said, her sisters nodding at this, their ears twitching as they pinpointed the location of their siblings before fusing back together and heading towards the sound's location.

Elsewhere, leathery, furred wings beat the air before the dragon landed, a deer in his jaws. Folding his wings, the ancient mammal entered a hidden cave. Once he reached a cavern he had claimed as his own, he lay down, chain and number clanking on the stone, and crunched through flesh and bone, quickly finishing off his meal. But as he lay down, he heard the sound of beating wings as well as the ground upheaving. The dragon's head shot up, his face alight with joy. Scampering to his clawed feet, he barreled towards the entrance, where a wyvern and wyrm were. The trio happily hugged and patted each other, glad to see one another after centuries coated in stone.

"Dude, how have ya been?" the wyvern asked, grinning toothily.

"Just flying around, getting to know the place," he explained casually before jerking his head towards the cave entrance.

"Come on in," he offered, the trickster trio heading inside.

Back at the school, Jack sat at one of the lunch tables, his friend Zach showing him a video on his phone. The video was shaky, but it nonetheless showed a literal giant disappearing into a forest.

"What do you think?" Zach asked.

Jack thought for a moment. But before he could answer, someone else did it for him.

"Those are just edited videos made by the media," Hunter said in a snobbish manner. Jack looked at him with annoyance.

"Hunter, just because your aunt is famous and rich doesn't mean you gotta be a crapsack," he told him. Hunter just gave him a death glare before leaving. Jack shook his head in annoyance.

After lunch, they headed to the gym, which Jack was ok at. Then finally math, which everyone DISPISED.

Finally, the bell rang for the end of school. As Jack and his sister Hope leave the building to walk home, they were stopped by some bullies who like to pick on the shy Hope.

"What do you jerks want," he got straight to the point. The leader glowered at him for a moment before speaking up.

"Hunter wasn't too happy about what you said," he started, only to be once again cut off by Jack.

"If you even think about hurting sis, I WILL ensure you will not have a next-gen," he threatened. Several of the bullies winced, knowing full well how Jack was protective of his shy and meek sister.

"No, he's got nothing against her, but he left the quote-unquote "punishment" up to us," he explained. Jack just glowered at them.

"You know the abandoned mines? Do us a favor and give them a look-see," he informed them.

"What do we get out of this," Jack asked.

"Well, you do this, and we give Hope here a full school year without our picking," he stated.

"Deal," Jack said, and they were off.

After walking for about half a mile, the group found the entrance of the mineshaft, nestled away in the side of a cliff in a forest. Jack wasted no time and started inside. Hope, however, wasn't planning on staying with her tormenters and raced inside.

"Tom, I think we should rethink this," one of the members said, feeling like this was going too far.

"Relax, what could go wrong," he told her, but no sooner did those words leave his mouth, the sound of wood breaking and screaming to echo out of the entrance.

But they weren't the only ones who heard the screaming, as orange eyes snapped open.

A/N So after quite a while later, I have got chapter two finished. I apologize for how short it is, filler chapters aren't my best work. Hopefully, Chapter 3 wouldn't take as long, but no Promises. That being said, I hope you enjoyed
