Prologue : The Another World
Kamigawa Aozora is a 16 year old highschool student from Tokyo. On the Chiba Ward.
She was fairly nerdy looking, but she have a good figure and an appearance. She styles her hair in a twin braid and she wears a large circular glasses.
It would have been perfect if her face was buried in a book of some sort.
Instead, her attention was solely focus on her smartphone.
On the screen of her smartphone is a game with a large cookie in it and a lot of small cookies popping up on the screen. On the upper screen, she can see a ridiculous set of numbers in it, shortened to just 222.345 Dc Cookies.
It basically says that she have Two Hundred Decillion Plus of cookies in the game.
Yes, she was playing a game that involves numbers increasing exponentially.
People call this as an incremental-type of game. But most people who looks at this will also call this as an Idle Game.
And she loves this kind of games. It's not just something that goes on the level of likes. She was essentially addicted to this kind of games.
To give an example, she have 200+ of idle games installed in her smartphone, both online and offline. It doesn't matter if the game is good or not. It doesn't even matter if it's either age appropriate, a crappy game, or just a text based one. All of it are installed in her phone.
And she have a broad categorization for idle games. But the main core is that the game must either be an incremental based or the game moves automatically without the player's input.
She loves these kind of games. She will go as far as to say that Idle Games are superior to any types of games.
That's just how addicted she is to it.
She will play it when she woke up, and she will play it even before she goes to sleep. No matter if she was in the middle of the class, while eating, or even in a family bonding, she will still focus most of her time playing an Idle Game.
It goes too far that she requested her parents to buy the latest game consoles and smartphone just so she can play some Idle Games there.
Millions of yen vanishing and all she wanted are just these type of games.
She doesn't know why she was addicted to these games. She vaguely recalls that it have something to do with her first game being an idle game. Though she doesn't know any other reason after that.
But she doesn't care. Her love for Idle Games is absolute. For her, that's what only matters.
So currently, she was busy in her game while she was in a bus. Being a commuting student, of course she needs to go to school.
Her focus was entirely on her game, not aware of anything else. Even with the sound of screams suddenly resounding in her surroundings, she doesn't even flinched and just continue on tapping on her screen.
She was only stopped when she felt a momentary sense of weightlessness, her phone still tightly clutched in her hands as she tries to move her head to see what is happening.
But when she came to, she was already met with a sight of fire. Of everything burning and her body felt pain all over. She have a splitting headache, the likes that she can't ignore even if she wants to.
Looking around her, she saw on the corner of her blurry vision, the bus that she was just on awhile ago. It was utterly wrecked and seems to have hit with a truck. She wasn't sure because her sight was blurry.
She also thinks that there are glass shards everywhere and it seems like she was in some sort boutique. Specifically on the large glass panel that she seems to have landed on. Her body was halfway to the interior of the shop, with her lower part being outside.
Even when she felt her life passing her, her mind still goes back to the thing that she really wants.
It was her smartphone that was conveniently still in front of her unmoving gaze. It is cracked a little but it seems like most of the force was dampened because of both of her hands covering it, which is now bloodied to bits.
She tried moving even a single finger on her hand but it doesn't respond. She can only stare at her phone, looking at the game that was still running even in her last moments.
'Ah... how sad.' She thought. 'I want to play more of my games.' She finishes her thought before slowly, her sight darkened.
As her mind wandered, she can only lament her regret, thinking about the games that she won't be able to play anymore, even the Idle Games that will be released soon.
'I want to play more...' She thought to herself.
After that, her thoughts shuts down.
The bright sunlight have steered her to consciousness. She slowly stood up in a daze as she take into her surroundings.
There are trees, trees, and more trees on the distance. Indicating that she was in a forest.
But it was strange for her because the last thing she remembers is the pain and her blank stare on her smartphone.
And even if it was her hallucination, she thinks she should still be in the bus that will be going to her school. So finding herself in the middle of the forest doesn't make sense at all.
"Oh right, my phone!" She exclaimed before looking around her.
She didn't see her phone anywhere. It's not on her pockets either.
"Oh no! My phone is missing!" She wailed in despair as the fact hits her.
Even with all this ridiculousness, her mind was still focused on one thing only. Her games.
As she wailed while feeling like it was the end of the world, a panel that looks like those typical status bars on RPG games appeared in her vision.
But instead of the usual thing where she can see the HP and MP, along with her statuses, what she saw are the list of her games that she recalls being in her smartphone. Below each of the game titles are the word Free in it.
She stares at it for awhile before looking around her. The status panel follows where her vision is pointing. She tried blinking her eyes and even pinching herself but it seems like the floating panel is still there.
She have decided that she wasn't hallucinating at all.
"Wait..." She muttered to herself as she realized something. "Is this that popular thing on the internet. That Isekai thing!" She said to herself.
Due to being addicted to Idle Games, with most of those games being influenced by the anime culture, she have an awareness to that kind of thing.
She watches some anime. Though those are just anime adaptations of the games that she have played.
"Then, this must be my cheat ability!" She said to herself. "Which means..." And she muttered that before looking at the sky.
She doesn't see anything different at all. There are no esoteric something or some sort of flying reptile that passes through in the sky. Still, she felt that this can't be anything other than...
"I am in another world." She said in affirmation to herself.
All of this was just too absurd if it's not the explanation. There is also another explanation like she was kidnapped and was put in this island with some sort of implants so she will have a delusion of seeing her status, or this could be a very realistic dream. There is also a morbid thought inside her that this is her brain making this up as a final dream for her before she truly dies, because she remembers dying in a bus accident.
She shook her head out of that thought before she focuses her attention to the list of game titles in this weird floating panel.
She decided that she will just pick one randomly to see if it was working at all.
She poke the list randomly and have selected a certain game titled Princess Saga.
'Princess Saga huh...' She thought to herself.
She remembers that it was an Online Idle RPG Game. The premise of the game being that powerful girls called as the Princesses were summoned by the Protagonist (The Player) to fight against the dark forces called as the Rebels.
This have a Gacha aspect but the idle aspect was also there. Specifically, the idle aspect was on the battle screen. The characters automatically fights through the hordes of enemies and they proceed after defeating that wave. The player can level the characters they have so they can finish a wave much faster.
Though if all of the characters were defeated, they will be back to the start of the stage that the player chooses.
This game was pretty popular in her world that it got it's own 12 episode anime.
She have played this a lot when she first installed it. Being an addict to anything that is an Idle Game, she have played this for a long time until she collected all of the characters and completed all the available events and features of this game.
She only regretted not being able to see any of it's updates after her death. Well, she thinks this game might have the updates if this was truly her cheat ability.
She saw the title screen of the Princess Saga game. She pokes at it and then it loaded for a literal split second before quickly changing into the home screen.
She recalled that there are many functions to this game. And being an Online Game, it also have a friend list and a global chat.
But something is weird. She saw that the global chat and the friend list are missing.
She also noticed that her account name was her real name and the avatar is her real facial picture.
She doesn't even use her real name nor her real face when playing an Online Game.
"... Well, that's just a minor matter. What I need to do now is to see if my freebies as a newbie is still functioning." She said to herself after looking around the home screen of this game.
She saw that besides her avatar, she can see that she was still a level 1 player. So she thinks that she was starting all over again. And being a newbie once again, it was a default that there are freebies.
Princess Saga always gives a free roll for newbie players.
So she was going to use that free roll to get a character.
Well, she knows who she was going to roll because the first free roll was already defaulted to one character.
Going to the Gacha Section, she saw that she have a free draw as a newbie. This makes her happy as she quickly poke the free roll option.
After a bit of waiting and some fanfare, it was finally done. A hidden figure of a girl appeared and below that figure, there are three stars that occurs on it. After those stars occured, the screen flash for an instant before the figure shows it's appearance.
"Master, I'm here to aid you in your battle!"
Austina Schloegn ~ Princess Knight
(3 Stars)
Along with that speech is the introduction of that character.
"As expected, she was the true starter after all." Aozora said while looking at the screen.
Austina have a blonde hair and a pair of blue eyes. She wore a blue dress, that seems to double as a combat suit. She also have a rapier that was sheathed on her waist. She looks a bit cute but beautiful at the same time.
Aozora was already used to seeing this character. She always see this character on Princess Saga everytime she plays after all.
Without getting excited that much, she exited the Gacha Section and go to the Expedition.
Well, she would have picked it but she can't due to it not existing at all.
"Wait what!?" She yelled in shocked. "Then what should I do with this game if I can't even grind my levels!?" She spat in anger.
She goes to the settings and pick the Quit Game option.
"Well, if I can't even play it properly, then I'll just pick another game." She said to herself as the screen came back to a list of games that she knows.
She tried picking another but then...
[Insufficient EXP]
Her eyes widened at that message and she quickly looks carefully at the game title.
Below that game title, instead of the word Free that she remembered seeing, it now displays 1,000 EXP. It seems like this floating panel was demanding her to pay up with those amount of EXP.
But she doesn't even know why she should do that. She clearly remembered that all the words below each of her Idle Games were Free. Not this one that was displaying an amount of EXP.
She grew scared when she thinks of not being able to open any of the idle games that she have, so she quickly goes back to the Princess Saga and opened it again. It seems like she can still play it without any problem at all.
Then she exited the game and looks at the list of games intently. From there, she noticed a small section below the floating panel that reads 0 EXP.
It might be her current EXP. She doesn't know. Though she can understand what EXP meant.
"I need EXP..." She muttered to herself before her mind goes back to her surroundings. "Wait... then I will be forced to fight someone!?" She said as she finally remembers the situation that she was in.
She was trying to forget about it and just think about playing her games. She doesn't want to think about the world around her. But she was forced to confront the fact that she was alone in a forest, without any powers, and any beast possibly lurking nearby.
"... I am screwed.." She said with a tremble in her voice.
Though she tried to compose herself before looking at the list of her games. Then she look around before walking to a decent stump on a tree and sitting on it. After that, she looks at the list of games again before opening the Princess Saga game again.
"Well, if I was going to die anyway, I'll just do whatever I want." She said to herself as she looks at her game that was missing a lot of functions. "Even if this is the only game that I can play before I die, at least I did something that I like!" She said, very convinced of her own logic.
So she looks around the full function of the game. Just sitting in this stump of tree without a care on the world. She knows she was done for anyway so she immediately resigned herself to her fate.
She looks at the Character Section and saw the image of her character.
"Huh... was there a Deploy command in Princess Saga? That was the first time I am seeing that!" She said in surprise when she saw the new option on the image of her character.
She tried poking that option then suddenly, the whole area shines. She was forced to close her eyes and shield it with her arms.
As the light faded, she took a moment to process it before taking off her arms and looking ahead.
From there is a girl much taller than her, kneeling at her in a knightly manner.
"Milady, I am Austina Schloegn, the one who will aid you in your journey." The girl, Austina, said that with a deferential bow.
This surprises Aozora. She can only stare at the girl absentmindedly as she thought.
'Seriously!?'

Hello, this is me Levelgap.
I decided to continue this story on this site. Well, this is originally posted on Spacebattles to see if I improve as a writer.
Well, that was not the case at all. I am a crap writer and it seems like it wouldn't change forever.
So I came back to this site to finish this story.
About my plans on Isekai Vtuber, I will try and also continue it. Yes, I'll just try. I don't want to force myself to do that. I hit a Writer's Block and I am still trying to think about what to write in it. Forcing myself will just turn that story into a mess and I don't want that.
Of course you wouldn't care about my reasons so just ignore whatever was written in this AN.
Thank you for reading this story!
Review if you like, helpful comments are welcome and thanks for reading this!~~
