Welcome back to the next Horroranger chapter, last time our monsters came together and formed a new team to fight against their first ever Spawn, but now Flesh Edger isn't the only awakened Ghoul anymore.
So without further ado, let's go!
The Second Hunt: Learning the Basics
Hundreds of years ago, the dreaded Spawns and their leader The Nightmare plagued the world with fear and dread. Seeing the humans were on the verge extinction, the many monsters of the night bounded together in a desperate last hope, sealing away the forces of evil.
But the seal begins to break, The Nightmare and his Servants return, hungry for the fear of the humans. Now, the descendants of the originals must come together and show the world who the true monsters are!
"KAIJIN SENTAI! HORRORANGER!"
"Learning Complete." Terror Byte said and unplugged a device from his head. "My data base is updated with all the modern knowledge…video games, fast food, goths, I am in the know for everything Master."
"Your methods always confused me Byte, what ever happened to learning the old fashioned way?" Flesh Edger huffed as he was sat on a rock, sharpening an overly large machete.
"My methods are effectively superior, the modern human's technology may have improved but my spread of viruses and programming far exceed them." The Machine said as his eye flashed. "Edger, the Horrorangers have returned?"
"Frustratingly, yes." The Slasher growled. "They're new though, not like the ones we faced in the past. How did you know?" Terror Byte pressed a button on his arm projecting up a news page that showed pictures of the costumed heroes fighting the Blood Dolls and Spawn. "What is that?"
"Something the humans call, social media, a worldwide accessible network where people complain about things beyond their reach and share something called…..memes." Terror Byte scoffed and turned the projection off. "Although this concept of a human shared network does give me a fascinating idea for my first Spawn of the era." Terror Byte stroked the crest on his head as he walked over to the cauldron in the centre of the room, picking up the dagger and slicing his palm. "With my new data, these schematics will be perfect."
The sun rose up on London's streets, and within the Harkens mansion the five newest members of the household were enjoying their VERY comfortable beds. But their sweet slumber was brought to a halt by the earth shattering sound of a grandfather clock ringing through each of their rooms. Each monster had their different reactions, Robert was growling and had nearly ripped his pillow in half, Daniel fell out of bed and rubbed his head, Victor just simply yawned, Anippe groaned and pulled the covers over, and Chloe got scared enough to uncontrollably float in the air.
A few minutes later…
"Ah, good to see you're all awake." Luther said as the five walked in, there he sat in a chair already dressed immaculately drinking a cup of tea while his companions looked scruffy and miserable. "With us all here, we can now start on today's topic."
"What topic can't you just let us sleep in?" Robert groaned and rubbed his eyes.
"You all have a job as Rangers now, you don't have time to 'Sleep in' as you call it." Luther said and stood up. "And our topic of the day is getting the five of you rookies to learn the basics."
"Basics?" Anippe questioned.
"Yes, while I can say you all fight surprisingly well there was still some….I'll say flaws." He said. "So today Diana and I will be training you, starting with actual fighting styles."
"What was wrong with the way we fought huh?" Robert huffed, clawing at the back of his neck. "We managed to beat those doll things so we should be fine."
"Well if you wish then I will be brutally honest." Luther cleared his throat and straightened his jacket. "Werewolf you were far too out of balance, Gillman was too stiff and open from far too many angles, Franken didn't utilise all his strength, Mummy was practically a toy with all the ways she was flopping around, and Ghost…you were too loud." The Vampire stuffed his hands in his pockets.
"Ya know, for a prince he's really rude…." Chloe pouted quietly, to which Victor nodded in agreement.
"So, get yourselves dressed and meet us outside in the garden, hopefully soon you five will be perfect fighters." Was the last thing he said before walking outside.
"I'm going to stab him one day…I know it won't do anything but he really needs to get stabbed." Robert huffed to himself as the five started to head back upstairs.
"Oh come on guys, he's only trying to help us become better warriors." Daniel tried to defend the team leader.
"Oh quit being such a kiss ass Dan, it's not a good look for you." The Mummy slapped him on the back of his head.
"At least….want breakfast first." Victor mumbled.
Out by a local University, many students had just began their school days as they shuffled around campus. One student in particular with black hair and hazel eyes was immersed in her own world looking down at a notepad in her hands. She was average height with somewhat tanned skinned wearing a simple t-shirt under a green jacket, brown pants, white socks and blue sneakers, lastly hanging around her neck was a photographer's camera. As she continued to walk along the campus a trio of girls bumped into her, making her drop her pad.
"Oh, sorry about that." She apologised and picked up the notepad.
"Watch where you're walking Monster Girl." The lead girl of the trio snarked, making the other two laugh as they walked away.
The girl merely sighed and stuffed the notepad into her bag, walking towards the campus's café and over to the counter.
"Heya Jen, what can I get you this time?" The barista asked.
"Hey Jax, gimme a uh….usual, strawberry ice cream milkshake to go please." The now named Jen answered, and a couple seconds later the barista came back and handed her the drink. "Cheers, keep the change." She placed the cash on the counter and walked out. The girl sat down at a nearby bench and flipped through her phone, she looked over the news post of the Horrorangers. "Can't believe I missed them, actual monsters and I got stuck in a test of all things." She groaned and put the phone back in her pocket, continued her drink and fiddled with her camera.
"But now I know they're out there, they're out there and I'm gonna find them." She said determinedly and downed the rest of her drink, accidently giving herself a brain freeze as she marched into the city.
Unbeknownst to the humans, Terror Byte had his single eye scanning the surrounding lifeforms, noting down how many of them were on their digital devices.
"Excellent, the amount of pitiful humans glued down onto their technology is exactly what we need." The Machine then snapped his fingers. "Wi-Fear."
"You dialled Sir?" A voice said as a new Spawn walked up behind Terror Byte, this one entirely mechanical and looked like a router, on his left arm was a satellite dish weapon, and on his chest was a multitude of symbols you'd see on an internet router. His head was rounded with a pair of antenna on his head and a rectangular visor.
"Link yourself into the human's internet network, use that to harvest fear to feed our Lord." Terror Byte ordered.
"Roger, Roger!" Wi-Fear saluted and jumped up onto a tall business building and walked over to a radar tower atop it, grabbing a cable from it arm and plugging in. "Link up to the internet complete, let the fun begin!"
"Fuck you Princey!" Robert growled out as he was forced walk a tight rope with a pair of water filled buckets held in each hand. For the entirety of the morning the new members of the Horrorangers had been put through rigorous training regimes so Luther could shape them into 'the best they can be', to which no one was happy. Daniel was being made to repeatedly dodge out of the way of multiple rocks thrown at him. Victor had many heavy machinery piled up onto his back and was forced to walked around the manor's grounds.
Anippe had heavy armour on her forearms and shins that restricted her movements as she slowly punched and kicked away at a training stand, heavily breathing as the added metal were weighing her limbs down. And Chloe was just sat down on the backdoor steps with a mask covering her lower face so she couldn't talk, something that made the ghost very unhappy.
"Come on now, we've only been doing this for an hour and a half." Luther said, for some reason already changed into his ranger suit watching them. "Only a few more hours."
"How….h-how come you don't….have to do any of this….crap?" Anippe panted and sat down.
"As much as I appreciate the chance to be trained by you Sir, I do have to agree with asking why only we are doing this?" Daniel added.
"Because, I have already trained myself completely in the Vampire arts." He boasted.
"Blah, blah, blah, look at me I'm Luther, I'm a big bad vampire-AH!" Robert yelled out and fell off the tightrope, one of the buckets falling on his head. "Grrrr, that's it I'm done!" He snarled, throwing the bucket of and marching towards Luther. "I don't care how the last blue guy did his fighting, but I like to fight like how I fight!"
"You have quite the attitude, fine I'll show you what this training can truly unlock." Luther patted his shoulders and took some steps back, crossing his arms in front of him and slowly moving them apart. "True Monster….Awaken!" He threw his arms apart sprouting out the bat like wings, catching everyone's attention. "This is the true power behind the Disks and suits, releasing what abilities the original warriors placed within. Each one gives specific augments to your bodies that would normally have to go through years of evolution for." The wings tucked back into his body and the suit deactivated.
A loud thud echoed in the back garden as Victor dropped his machinery, cracking his neck. "Stop now?"
"Yeah, I'd like to stop." Robert huffed and scratched his hair roughly, walking around the house.
"Where are you going Werewolf?" Luther demanded.
"Out, and the name is Robert dammit, I'm sick of this stupid training." The wolfman growled and left.
Chloe stood up and ripped her mask off. "Yeah, if you can't handle my loud voice, then stuff it!" She pouted and threw the mask onto the floor, storming off.
"Ragh! This stupid armour is chaffing my skin!" Anippe shook the armour and walked away. "And just so you know, I like dance fighting!"
Victor merely shrugged and followed them.
"I'm still here, I'll accept your training sir." Dan said, which only made the Vampire sigh and walk back into the manor, slamming the door behind him. "Oh…ok. Hey guys wait up!" The Gillman yelled and went to catch up with the others. "So uh…w-where are we going?"
"Into town, haven't had much of a choice to explore this place since we arrived and I'm eager to see what Jolly Ole England has to offer." Robert snarked as the five walked away from the Harkens manor. "I need a break from Mr Prince Asshole anyway."
"He's just so mean." Chloe pouted and crossed her arms.
While the five crossed the road, beneath the ground within the sewers Flesh Edger squatted down as he heard the sets of footprints topside.
"There we go, the hunt now begins." He stood up and started to walk through the sewers, dragging his large machete with him. As he walked, a folded piece of paper fell from his coat which he quickly noticed. The paper was old and worn, with some areas slightly singed, the Ghoul immediately picked it up and stuffed it back into his coat, treating it like a treasure. "I can't lose that, it's all I have left." Edger continued to walk through the sewers, his footsteps and dragging of metal echoing through the tunnels.
"WOW! I want to go there, no I wanna go there, no there, NO THERE!" Chloe giggled in awe as she and the others walked around Westminster. "Oooh! A giant Ferris Wheel!"
"Actually that's the London Eye, apparently when you're at the top of it you can see all of London from there." Dan said. "So, we're out….what do we do now?"
"I hear there's a pretty cool biker shop around here, I could do with some new gloves and maybe accessories for my bike." Robert waved a two finger salute and left the group
"Anippe, let's go to the mall, there's so many places to go and things to buy, and I wanna try some of the British treats!" Chloe squealed, grabbing the Mummy's hands and dragging her away without giving an answer.
"Whelp, I guess it's just you and me Victor…..Victor?" Dan turned around to try find the tall man, only to see that the Frankenstein Monster was already gone. "Oh, guess I'm on my own. Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool, cool." He stuffed his hands into his pockets and rocked back and forth on his feet with a sigh before beginning to walk. As he walked, the Gillman bumped into someone, causing the two fall down. "Oh, sorry about that!"
"No, no it's ok, I wasn't looking where I was going." The person apologised, showing it to be Jenifer. "Hey, your accent, are you American?"
"Hmm? Oh, yeah I'm here visiting for a….project." He thought of the lie on the spot. "How come you sound so surprised?"
"S-sorry I didn't mean for that to sound rude, I just don't get to meet a lot of Americans." She said as the two stood up, dusting themselves off. "I'm Jennifer, Jennifer Stone."
"Daniel Jones, nice to meet ya." The two shook hands.
"So what's a guy like you doing out here all by your lonesome?" Jen asked as the two started to walk.
"Well I did come here with a group of friends, but they um kind of abandoned me." He said, cleaning his glasses.
"Well that was pretty rude of them, hope you don't mind me saying but they're asses."
"Well I can't really blame them, we only met yesterday and don't exactly know each other all that well." The boy shrugged.
"Well, how about you spend the day with me?" Jen offered, surprising Dan. "I mean that is if you have nothing better to do?"
"Oh, sure that'd be nice, you could show me around the place even." Dan said with a smile.
"Great idea, my favourite pub is just around the corner, let's go get a drink." She patted him on the back and continued walking.
"W-wait I'm not even 21 yet, I can't drink."
"Oh you poor naïve American." She chuckled and grabbed him by the wrist, continuing to drag him away.
"Hold on a minute, wait-wait-wait-wait-wait!"
Meanwhile in random places of the city, people were just minding their business, looking at their phones, browsing the web and just enjoying the wonders of technology. One child who was just happily playing with his iPad, suddenly screamed and threw the device away, crying over to his mother who looked confused. Simultaneously, many other people screamed in terror at what was appearing on their screens.
"Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!" Wi-Fear chuckled to himself as he continued to broadcast the signal of his little scare fest. "So much perfect fear for our Master!"
"Here we are, apple cider for me….and a diet coke for you." Jen said as set the drinks down. "You sure you don't want anything special, I'm paying anyway."
"It's fine really, so university student huh? What're you studying?"
"Journalism and photography, I wanna be an investigative journalist after all, I love a good mystery." Jen said, showing off her camera. "My one dream is to solve the unsolvable, there's so many unanswered questions out there that I just need to figure out."
"That's some ambition." Dan smiled and sipped his drink.
"Yeah, but what I'm most interested in is monsters!" She said, making Dan nearly choke on his drink. "Ever since I was a kid I've always wanted to prove they were real, Vampires, Ghosts, you name it it's out there!"
"Oh, c-come on now, monsters? Th-that's just superstition." Dan tried to wave off. "I mean, seriously that's just stuff for kids." He chuckled awkwardly.
"Yeah, yeah, that's what everyone thinks, but I know they're out there, you want proof?" She took out her phone and opened the page about the Horroranger. "Boom."
"People in spandex?" He tried to act clueless.
"No not just people in spandex, look at them all, they're all different monsters I can tell." She then pressed on a video of the team fighting against LeatherSaw and the Blood Dolls. "Look at these things they're fighting, those aren't just people in costumes."
"I mean I g-guess you're maybe right, you can't be too sure though."
"Well yeah but, I can have hope right?" She shrugged and put her phone away. "There is something else I have that keeps me believing." Jen reached under the collar of her shirt and pulled out a necklace with a pearl in it.
"A necklace?"
"It's more of the pearl really, you see when I was younger my parents took me to America for a holiday, a long boat trip. One day I fell overboard and nearly drowned, but then, this figure in the water saved me. And I know, I just know that he was a Gillman or something, I could tell from his body shape. After he saved me and got me on the boat, he handed me this pearl and I never saw him again."
Dan let out an inaudible gasp at her story, a look of realisation coming to his eyes.
"I guess, a small part of me hopes that one of those new heroes is the same lil guy that saved me, just so I can say thanks." She smiled and tucked the necklace back under her shirt.
"W-well, I doubt a literally Gillman is gonna be in England of all places, that seems pretty unlikely." Dan cleared his throat. "But I guess don't stop looking."
"And that's what I plan to do!" Jen said and picked up her glass, holding it forward. "Cheers."
"Cheers." He said and went to clink her glass, only to drop it as multiple screams ran out around them, people dropping their phones or other technological devices. "What's happening?"
"Ugh!" Dan heard someone groan behind him and turned to see an elderly man fall down to his back, his eyes bloodshot and his hands twitching.
"Oh Jesus!" Dan sprang up and went to check on the man, trying to find a pulse but didn't manage to find one. "Dammit!" He saw the man's phone had fallen beside him and picked it up, noticing the screen was a dark red static. "What the hell?"
"Dan what is going on?" Jen asked, looking around at the many people throwing or dropping their phones.
"I…I don't know." The boy scratched his hair in thought. He then heard familiar groans as a large troop of Blood Dolls began to swarm the area. "Dammit…"
"Those are the things those super heroes fought! That means they'll be showing up soon!" Jen said excitedly and went to prepare her camera.
"Really?! You-We need to run and hide!" Dan grabbed her wrist as everyone around them started to run away from the Dolls.
"Wait no!" Jennifer yelped as she was dragged into the crowd. "I'm not missing is this time!" She growled and freed her wrist before running back to the area.
"Jen!" Dan called out and tried to push through the running people but got knocked to the ground before crawling into an nearby alley and pulling out his phone. "Come on, pick up pick up pick up, please."
"Now these are perfect." Robert smiled looking at the arrange of biker gloves. "I do like these ones, but those look just as good….decisions, decisions."
*BZZT! BZZT!*
The Werewolf reached into his pockets and took out his phone, scoffing when he saw the Green Monster's name on it.
"This guy again, Jeez Louise." He shook his head and denied the call, stuffing the phone back into his pocket and went back to looking at the gloves. "Now let's see here."
Meanwhile, Anippe sat outside a changing room reading over a magazine while Chloe was behind the curtain changing.
"Ok, how does this look?" Chloe moved the curtain to show off she had changed into a cyan long sleeved shirt and a pair of jeans. "Does cyan work well for me?"
"It's ok, I still think you'd look good in something darker." The Mummy commented with a shrug.
"But I like bright colours." The Ghost whined with her arms crossed. "Dark colours are so boring."
*BZZT! BZZT!*
"Hmm, who is it?"
"It's just Dan, probably calling to whine about us leaving him behind." Anippe said quickly declining and putting the phone away.
"Shouldn't you answer it?"
"Nah, what could be so important that he'd have to call us anyway?"
"Do these people just not answer their phones?!" Dan hissed to himself as he gripped the phone case, growling as it said call declined.
"Hey." Victor said as he suddenly seemed to appear behind him.
"Holy shit!" Dan jumped at his appearance. "Why are you so good at sneaking up on people?! Why didn't you answer your phone?"
"Battery dead." He said, holding up his phone showing it was a black screen with a charge symbol on it. "Heard screaming, came as fast as I could. What's going on?"
"I have no clue, people started getting scared of something on their phones and then Blood Dolls came out of nowhere, there's gotta be a Spawn or something nearby."
"Where others?"
"I tried calling them but no one answered, they must be busy with their own problems." Dan guessed. "We gotta help those people, I'll send Luther a quick message, hopefully he can get here with the others."
"Hurry." Victor said, noticing now that some people were being assaulted by the Dolls.
"Alright, let's do this." Dan said as the two took out their Changers and Disks.
THE-REBIRTH!
"Horror Change!" The two called out and rushed into the fray.
ARISE!
GILLMAN!
FRANKEN!
The two now suited monsters charged towards the Blood Dolls, Black shoulder bashed four of them away before quickly grabbing one of them by its leg and swinging it around in a circle as an impromptu club. He then slammed the Doll in his hands onto the ground hard, shattering it into pieces. Two Blood Dolls jumped on his shoulders and tried stabbing through his thick platting, the Franken merely back ran into a building and shrugged the two off before grabbing their heads and bashing them into each other.
Green performed a mid-air kick, striking a Doll in the head before flipping back and clotheslining one Doll that went to stab him in the back. He ducked under one attempted slash and kneed the Doll's chest. Three Dolls lined up and drew their bows and fried arrows at the Green Monster, who rolled forward as the arrows soared over him and exploded.
THE-ARMAMENT!
Green summoned his Magnum and fired at the three Dolls with the bows, striking each of them and reducing them to puddles. He spun around and gunned down a few more that came charging at him.
"With this many here, there has to be a Spawn somewhere." Green muttered as his eyes darted around the area before they landed onto an inhuman figure on the roof. "That's gotta be him." Green aimed his Magnum towards the rooftop taking a deep breath and firing a single shot towards it, the piranha flew towards the figure and skimmed it across the shoulder, making it flail before tripping over the roof's edge and falling off the building. "Yes, got 'em! Hey, Vic, I think I knocked the Spawn into the next street!"
"Dolls first." The Black Monster replied, backhanding another one away. "Too many though."
"Yeah, I just wish the others would get here, what could take them do long?" Green said as he fired more shots. The Blood Dolls continued to groan and swarm them, before a flaming comet crashed through some of the Dolls and landed on the ground, showing it was Luther in his suit and wings out, Dracul Cutter in his hands.
"Seems I made it just in time." Red said as he slashed at a couple Dolls. "Gillman, Franken, where are the others?"
"They weren't answering my calls, so I'm guessing they're in trouble as well, hopefully they'll be done and on they're way." Green said as he and Black went up to join their leader.
"They'll be here, I had Diana send a telepathic message to them. But right now we need to clear out the rest of these Blood Dolls." Red ordered as the two nodded.
THE-ARMAMENT!
Black armed himself with his hammer as the three when to dispose of the remaining Dolls.
Meanwhile, Jen was hidden behind a piece of rubble with her camera ready. "Oh crap there they are, whoa…" She held up her camera and took some shots of the battle. "Wait, weren't there six of them, where's the other three?"
"Uuuuuugh…" A low groan was heard, Jen looked to her right as a Blood Dolls came creeping towards her, raising its knife at her. The girl tried to back away from the monster but tripped on a stray pipe and fell onto her back.
Green heard a scream and spun around, seeing his new friend cornered by a Doll. "Jen!" He blasted the two Dolls in front of him before rushing towards her. Just as the Doll was about to stab her Green jumped in front her and got slashed across the chest, making him fall to one knee before he rammed the barrel of his Magnum into the Doll's chest and releasing a salvo into its body, killing it instantly.
"Miss, are you ok?" Green turned around and asked her, tilting his head to the side which made Jen gasp as memories flashed in her mind.
"It is you! I knew it!" She said springing up.
"Um, excuse me?"
"You're that same Gillman that saved me from drowning! It's me don't you remember?!" She grabbed his shoulders and shook him lightly.
"I…I….I…" Green was lost for words as he tried to formulate some form of sentence.
"Gillman!" Red called out as he pulled his Cutter out of the last Doll. "We've finished off the Dolls, now we hunt for the Spawn, come!"
"R-right sir!" Green said, giving one last look to Jen before taking off to join Red and Black as they were about to continue after the Spawn.
"So who's she?" Red asked as he wiped off some of the Doll's blood on his sword.
"She's…..an old memory. Look I don't want to talk about it let's just get this thing."
"Guys!" The three heard as Blue, Yellow and Pink ran in. "Good thing we got here in time."
"Where were you guys? I called but you didn't answer." Green said.
"Oh well….there were other Dolls in the places we were at, so we had to deal with them first." Yellow explained to which Blue nodded rapidly.
"We'll discuss this later, the Spawn is behind this building, let's go!" Red ordered as the six then ran around the building.
Jen was left standing there astounded. "That was him….that had to be the same one…." She shook her head before picking up her camera and following.
When the team turned the corner of the building, they looked around the area before finding Wi-Fear stuck head first in the ground and legs flailed in the air.
"Look, there he is!" Pink pointed out.
"Guy looks like a robot, way different from the other guy. The last one was all flesh and bones right?" Blue asked and scratched his helmet.
"It is an odd case yes, but right now we must focus on eliminating it." Red said seriously and spun his sword.
"Stupid….fragile….concrete…..hole!" Wi-Fear yelled as he pulled himself out, rubbing his head with his hand. "Huh, who are you guys?"
"Dark king of the skies….Vampire Red!"
"Dark king of the moon….Werewolf Blue!"
"Dark king of the lagoon….Gillman Green!"
"Dark king of the lab….Franken Black!"
"Dark queen of the dunes….Mummy Yellow!"
"Dark queen of the spirits….Ghost Pink!"
"Protecting the world from the supernatural! Showing to which who the true monster are!" Red said and slashed his Cutter across the ground, causing a small flame. "Kaijin Sentai!" The six gathered up into their group pose.
"Horroranger!"
"Horror…..horror…..Oh whatever, I'm gonna erase you guys like an unwanted browser tab!"
"Monsters, let's give him a good scare!"
Green immediately opened fire as the three unarmed Monsters charged forward.
Blue dropped to his knees and skidded across the ground and scratched the Spawn with his clawed gloves. Yellow joined soon with a drop kick to Wi-Fear's chest, making him stumble back. The robotic Spawn yelped and aimed his dish arm, firing some lasers at the two who rolled out of the way as Pink floated over and bicycle kicked him in the face.
Wi-Fear managed to knock her away before screaming as Black slammed him with his hammer. The Spawn keeled over and lost his breath before firing some lasers into Black's chest. The Franken dropped his hammer and stepped back before walloping Wi-Fear directly in the face.
Red and Green rushed forward, the Gillman firing his Magnum while the team leader jumped off of Black's shoulders and swung his Cutter down hard, making sparks fly off Wi-Fear's body and making him tumble across the ground.
"Let's quickly finish this guy." Red said to which the others nodded, but as soon as they were about to move forward before a slash of green energy impacted the ground they stood on and sent them sprawling into the air, landing on the ground hard. "Agh….alright…sound off, who's dead?" He grunted as he pushed himself up.
His answers was a collections of groans and mumbles.
"W-what was that….?" Pink hissed as the six heard footsteps approaching followed by the sound of scrapping metal. Flesh Edger came into their view, his large machete causing sparks to scatter off the ground.
"Is that…..another Spawn?" Blue asked.
"Leave us, get more of the feast for our master. These monsters are mine to handle." Flesh Edger said as he rested his machete on his shoulder.
"Y-y-yes Master Edger." Wi-Fear stuttered with a bow before running away.
"Hey, where do you think you're going?!" Red went to chase after the Spawn if not for the bag headed man to step before him. "Out of my way….whatever you are!"
"Vampire, you fight is with me, the same goes for all of you." He pointed at them with his blade. The rest of the team stood up and readied their weapons.
"Right, we need to attack to attack in an coordinated manner-"
"Let's get em!" Blue shouted as the other five ran straight for Edger, leaving an angered Red who growled before following. The Ghoul merely huffed and readied his weapon as Blue jumped up and lunged with his Howling Claw, Edger side stepped and grabbed the wolfman by his arm and slamming him into the ground. He went to swing his blade down at Blue's chest, if not for Yellow's Staff to block his attack. The mummy spun her staff around and tried striking at the Slasher's body who merely bounced them off with his own weapon before slashing her across the stomach and kicking her away.
"Hyah!" Pink managed to land a punch across his face with her Pummeller, which only made the Ghoul snarl at her. "Whoops…"
Flesh Edger roared as he hacked at Pink, the Ghost using her intangible abilities to have the blade phase through her. As Edger raised the sword again, he faked her out by swerving the machete around just as she phased out, grabbing her by the throat as she phased back in. The Slasher spun around before throwing Pink into a streetlight.
Black swung his Hammer right before Edger leaned backwards, the blunt end barely skimming him on the chest. He bounced back up and grabbed the Franken's arm and twisted it, making him grunt in pain as he dropped the Hammer and punched Edger across the face. He grabbed Black by his shoulders and repeatedly head butted him, after one last head butt the Monster grasped his head and stumbled back before he was drop kicked by the Ghoul.
The Slasher stood back up, picking up his machete as his gaze wandered over towards Red and Green.
"This thing…..he's not a Spawn, he's far too powerful." Red growled as the grip on his Cutter tightened.
"Sir, a-a-are we gonna be able to beat this guy?" Green gulped.
"Just give me covering fire, I'll handle him!" Red said and charged towards Edger who scrapped his blade across the ground before slowly walking towards him. The vampire jumped up and brought his Cutter down just as Edger swung his blade upwards, the two swords clanged off each other as both Monsters' attacked with full force. Sparks flew from Edger's shoulder, curtesy of Green providing covering fire, giving Red the chance to strike the Ghoul across his chest.
Flesh Edger stepped back with a groan and his held his chest, growling aloud as he began to spin his machete around, collecting a mass of dark green energy.
"Scream Slash!" He roared and sent a powerful energy slash towards the two. Green dodge rolled under it, Red on the other hand was too slow and raised up his Cutter, trying to block it with all his strength but in the end failing as the attack overpowered him and knocked him down hard.
"Luther Sir!" Green yelled out at the vampire before turning back to the oncoming Edger. "Come on then Freakshow, I ain't afraid of you!" He said with a charge, firing at him.
Flesh Edger deflected most of the shots, one or two of them hitting but doing minor damage. Edger swung with Green ducking down, throwing a punch at his chest followed by a kick to his ribs. Edger slammed his boot into Green's chest knocking him down onto his back. The Gillman quickly aimed his Magnum and fire a salvo of blasts into his chest, making him stumble back.
"Don't worry Dan….we're coming to help…!" Blue, Pink and Yellow managed to stand up and was about to head in to help if not for Edger to knock them back with another energy slash.
"While this battle has been amusing, it's time for you to die." Edger thrashed his machete across the ground before lifting it up high. "Nightmare Elm Claw!" He stuck the blade down, the energy multiplying by four with all four slashes heading straight for Green.
"Dan!/Gillman!" The other five called out as two of the slashes struck him across the chest, the other two impacting against the ground and causing an explosion. As the residue of the flames died down, it showed an unconscious Green lying on the ground. Edger huffed and rested his blade on his shoulder, beginning to walk away.
The other five beside Red went to check up on their downed teammate, the Vampire himself watching his opponent walk away.
"Such power….was that, a Ghoul….?"
"Ow, ow, ow…." Dan whimpered as Diana was casting some kind of magic on his wounds.
"Oh hush up you big baby, this'll be over in a second." The maid said sternly as the magic continued to tend his wounds.
"That guy was strong, like…wow strong ya know?" Robert hissed with an icepack on his shoulder.
"I take it you've all just met your first Ghoul." Graves said as he walked in with a tray of tea.
"So he was a Ghoul, he had so much power….and so much skill." Luther groaned as he rolled his aching neck. "But the Spawn we fought, it was different than the last."
"Like there are multiple Rangers, there are multiple Ghouls. From your description I can only guess the one you fought today was Flesh Edger." Graves said and started massaging Luther's shoulders.
"So there's more than one of those guys, and we couldn't even beat one…." Chloe looked at her bandaged wrist.
"In total, there are six. Terror Byte the Machine, cold with logic and precision. Fable Reaper the Story, spiteful yet darkly compassionate. Savage Wilder the Mutant, brutal and strong. Gentleman Geist the Shadow, polite yet manipulative. Tinker Player the Toy, insane deranged and full on psychotic, takes too much joy out of pain." He stopped the massage and turned to address them all. "Finally, there's the one you fought today, Flesh Edger the Slasher, compared to the other he is a mystery to us. While the others have their species he is unknown, an enigma to the world of monsters."
"An unknown race, that really is a problem." Dan groaned as Diana finished the healing. "Hey how come you guys didn't answer your phones when I called? Victor's phone was dead so that makes sense but what about you guys?"
"Oh uh….well we were fighting our own troops of Dolls, yeah they were pretty numerous." Robert said waving off Dan's question so which Luther noticed something.
"Wait a minute, those aren't your regular gloves." He walked over to him and held his wrist, making the Wolfman grunt. "These are a new brand kind that just came into Rider's Life, how could you have bought these if you were fighting?"
"Uuuuuuuuuuh….." Robert tried to think of something to say.
"Rob, how could you?! Dan needed our help and yet you were buying gloves? Shameful!" Chloe said, pointing at him and accidently causing a small piece of paper to fall out of her sleeve. "Uuuuh, I don't know where that came from…" Luther walked over to it and picked it up, uncrumpling it to reveal a receipt.
"A receipt for Primark. How could you have fought the Troop, the closest Primark is nowhere near the initial invasion." Luther glared at both Chloe and Anippe. "And you two were with each other, meaning you were just shopping!"
"So, you guys just….ignored me?" Dan asked as he put his shirt back on.
"It wasn't me, Anippe hung up on both our phones!"
"You snitch!" The Mummy yelled and stuttered as she got a glare from Luther. "Look ok, we didn't think it was anything important we swear!"
"That is still no excuse!" Luther said sternly and looked at the three. "I didn't agree to taking on this team just to have a bunch of slackers ignoring their team mate to sight see." He then turned to Victor. "And just where were you?"
"Phone died….couldn't answer, heard screams…..followed." Victor explained.
"Understandable I suppose. But you three are just disgraceful, wandering around as if you're on some sort of field trip and because of your selfishness one of your teammates is critically injured!"
"Luther that is enough!" Diana shouted, making everyone look at her. "I get it, you think highly of yourself because of your royal bloodline, but it's about time you learn some decency and manners dammit!"
"I beg your-!"
"No, SHUSH, it's my turn to speak! These people aren't just some monsters that are yours to command, these are your companions in arms, your teammates, so you need to respect them! The second they got here all you've done is treat them like lesser people, you don't even call them by their names!" She said and started to poke his chest, making the young prince step back with each poke. "And the rest of you, you all need to learn that it's important to work with each other, no wonder that Edger guy managed to take you all down so easily! You guys barely know each other, yeah I get that, but can you all get it through those thick skulls of yours and TRY to be friends?!" She finished with a huff and a turn leaving the rest of the monsters in silence.
Luther stuttered before clearing his throat. "Diana's right, I may have been too harsh on all of you." He admitted.
"May have?" Graves added.
"Ok, yes I have been harsh, but that's only because I don't want to be seen as the leader than you can all just walk over."
"Sir, why would we walk over you?" Dan asked him. "If anything, I was pretty scared about meeting all of you guys. You see, I've never really been Mr Popular, a lot of the other kids never interacted with me at all so social skills are basically nothing. So I don't really blame any of you guys for ignoring my call if I'm being honest, it's pretty normal."
"No, no it's no ok, I'll just say it we were assholes." Chloe said.
"Really, I don't care." The Gillman continued. "I guess it's kind of my own fault, I've always been a teacher's pet and kind of a kiss ass, so not a lot of people want to be friends with the rule follower." He groaned and stood up. "But right now, I think what's important is finding that Spawn and stopping him before more people get hurt, or worse." He groaned as he bent down to pick up his glasses. "My lor-….Luther, I don't mind about the whole phone issue, I just want us all to get along and work well as a team, if that's ok with you I mean!"
"And there he goes, he was so close." Robert chuckle huffed only to get a hard slap on the back of the head. "Ow, it was just a joke jeez…"
"The Gillman's right, finding that Spawn is the most important matter at hand. We'll split up and search for it." Luther said and looked at the Werewolf. "I'm going with you just to make sure you don't slack off again." He narrowed his eyes, making Robert sweat drop. "Let's move out!" With that the six grouped up and left the home, leaving behind the two servers.
"That was quite the outburst you had there." Graves commented, to which Diana whined and sunk down to her knees.
"I hate yelling at people…was I harsh?"
"Not at all, I'd say it was justified." The butler said and picked up a tool box, starting to walk away. "Now then, I have some work to do."
"What are you doing?" Diana asked curiously as she stood up.
"Making some final….maintenance checks to the Monster Machines, to make sure they're ready for when the Spawns become large again." He said and left.
Meanwhile with Jen, the photographer was looking over the collection of photos she got from the fight.
"Crap…..crap…..crap…..totally crap." She huffed and rested back in her chair. "None of the pics I got were any good." She whined and pushed her chair over to the window, looking out to the night time city and stars. "Come on monsters, show up for me again will ya?"
Suddenly a bright light in started to spark from the London Eye, catching the girl's attention.
"What in the….?" She said before grabbing her camera and heading outside, exiting she saw the sparks started to spread out across the city. "That can't be good, buuuuuut if it's the same as last time then those costumed monsters will be there!" She grinned and got on her bike, peddling away.
"How come you're not that mad?" Victor asked as he and Dan were seen walking by the Thames in search for Wi-Fear.
"It's like I said, I don't really mind, a lot of people ignored me in life so I kinda expected it when I came here." Dan said and leaned on the railing. "Although, I did meet someone, Jennifer I think her name was, she was really nice and even treated me out for drinks. I just hope she made it out of the attack ok."
"Sounds like someone….has feelings." Victor added.
"W-w-what no I don't! What gave you that idea?!"
"You are flustered." The Franken merely said.
"Whatever…" He huffed. "Ya know, I still wanna know where exactly you went, the others went shopping but you don't really seem like the shopping type if you know what I mean."
The larger teen sighed and reached into his coat pocket, pulling something out and handing it to Dan. The Gillman looked at it and noticed it was a leaflet. "Wanted to visit Zoo, don't have one at home, wanted to see some of the animals. Got lost though, what I said about screams was true."
"Oh, well then." Dan said as he gave the leaflet back. "Why didn't you just say that?"
"Didn't want to, not like I got there anyway." He shrugged and put it back in his pocket. "So, where do you think that robot is?"
"Well, he seems to be designed after some kind of router, so if we're thinking clearly here to really use his power he'd need a good reach, so someplace high maybe."
"Clocktower?"
"You mean Big Ben? No it's too obvious, maybe the Houses of Parliament?" Dan continued to think for a couple seconds before the two heard screams and noticed some sparks down the river. "That's it, he's using the London Eye! Come on let's go!" He said and was about to run over there before being grabbed on the shoulder by Victor.
"Call others first, remember what Diana said." The hooded teen said.
"Right, I'll text and run." He agreed as the two started to run down the river, texting as he did so. As they approached the Eye, they saw people getting chased off by Blood Dolls as Wi-Fear walked to the console.
"And on it goes!" He laughed and started the wheel, making the carts spin clockwise with some people still inside.
"Hey!" The Spawn turned around as Dan and Victor stopped in front of him and the Dolls.
"You two brats again? Didn't you learn not to mess with us last time?!"
"Clearly not." Victor said and punched his palm.
"This time you don't have your slasher buddy to save your sorry hide." Dan added.
"And you idiots clearly didn't learn with the fact that you're outnumbered!" He growled as the Dolls started to lumber towards them. As three of them got too close, Robert and Luther suddenly zoomed past on the former's bike, striking them hard enough to reduce them to sludge. "Huh!"
Luther quickly got off the bike and leaned on a streetlight, taking some deep gulps and hanging his head down. "I….am never….riding that accursed thing again, at least not with you!"
"Glad to be of service Princey." Robert replied and took his helmet off as he walked over to the other three. "Got the message, actually listened this time, I'm so awesome."
"HEY!" Everyone looked up as Wi-Fear got hit in the face by a bin, hard enough to knock him down. Chloe came floating down with a grinning Anippe holding onto arms, dropping down beside the others.
"Did you hit him with a trash can?" Dan asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, I thought it'd be funny, extra style points ya know?" The Mummy shrugged.
"Ok….Ok I'm good." Luther groaned as he walked over and stood in the middle. "Alright then, let's go!"
"Right!" Everyone else said as they took out their Changers and Disks, inserting them in they pressed the change button.
THE-REBIRTH!
"Horror Change!" They called out and pressed the button atop, clouding them in black smog with their signature elements.
ARISE!

GHOST!
They swatted the smog away and stood there in their suits. "Now let them know who you are!" Red snapped his fingers as the area went dark.
"Dark king of the skies…." Red threw up his rose. "Vampire Red!"
"Dark king of the moon…." Blue threw up his rose. "Werewolf Blue!"
"Dark king of the lagoon…." Green threw up his rose. "Gillman Green!"
"Dark king of the lab…." Black threw up his rose. "Franken Black!"
"Dark queen of the dunes…." Yellow threw up her rose. "Mummy Yellow!"
"Dark queen of the spirits…." Pink threw up her rose. "Ghost Pink!"
Wi-Fear was helped up by the Dolls as his head wabbled a little bit before looking at the team, just as Red pointed his claws at him.
"Protecting the world from the supernatural! Showing to which who the true monsters are!" He said and spun his arms around, collecting a small amount of fire. "Kaijin Sentai!" The six gathered up into their group pose.
"Horroranger!" They called out.
"Blood Dolls!" Wi-Fear ordered as the Troop advanced.
"Monsters, let's give them a good scare!" Red called out as the six charged. Blue used his suit's claws to scratch against the Dolls, he rolled out the way if one of them and leapt up, wrapping his legs around its face before back flipping and slamming it into the ground.
Yellow jump kicked a Doll in the face before starting to handstand and spin around on her shoulders, knocking a few Dolls back. She got back to her feet and punched a Doll repeatedly in the face with a final punch sending it flying into another two Dolls.
Pink grabbed one by the arm before elbowing it in the stomach and flipping it over its shoulder, another came lunging behind her but she phased through it before floating and drop kicking it. She leant backwards to avoid a pair of daggers and grabbed the Doll's by the ankles and pulled them down as she straightened up.
Red punched one Doll, hard enough to send it over the rail into the Thames. He clotheslined two of them behind him and grabbed their head, back flipping over them and crushing their heads together. He dodged one's stab before dropping down and sweeping its legs and stomping a hole through its chest. He jumped and spun around, dodging a flurry of arrows that soared past him as he landed down.
"I see how it is, very well….you brought this upon yourselves." He said before crossing his arms and moving them apart slowly. "True Monster Awaken!" Red threw his arms apart as the bat like wings sprouted. He flapped his wings a few times before taking a running start and flying towards the Dolls. "Sky Fire Blitz!" Fire trailed from his wings as he span around, making a small flame tornado and crashed through the Dolls, burning them to ashes and leaving the goo puddles.
THE-ARMAMENT!
Green and Black rushed in as their weapons formed, Green took a couple pot shots at Wi-Fear who covered his as some sparks blinded him. Black got close enough and swung his hammer directly for the Spawn's chest, Wi-Fear ducked under it and fired some lasers into his back, making him stumble as Green got close and pistol wiped him across the head.
"Grrr, you're starting to get on my nerves!" He growled and fired at the two, the beam hit Black square in the chest and pushed him into a nearby Taxi. "You're next fish face!"
"Come on, I ain't afraid of ya!" Green aimed his Magnum and fired rapid blasts at the Spawn, the robot in retaliation fired his own lasers as the two rushed at each other. Green sent a kick to the abdomen as Wi-Fear threw a punch, both attacks hit and knocked each back a little bit. Green was the first to recover and sent a shot straight into Wi-Fear's stomach.
"Victor, you alright buddy?" He asked as he ran over to check on his friend.
"I'll be….fine." Black groaned and rubbed his head.
*CLICK*
"Huh?" The two looked over and saw Jen there standing with her camera. "What are you doing here?"
"I…I…..I…..I….."
"I'm gonna erase you!" The Spawn roared and charged up a super blast, firing at the three. Jennifer shrieked and fell down as the blast got closer, Green and Black quickly sprang up and got in front of the blast as it impacted against them, they both yelled out and was engulphed in a small explosion that knocked them down. "WHOO! Optic Fibre at maximum download! You stupid monsters could never beat me!" He laughed at them.
Green grunted as he crawled onto his knees, taking deep breath and looking over to Jen who panted with wide eyes.
"N-no…..we…gotta get up…." Green groaned and wavily stood up. "You….you're not gonna hurt….anyone else…"
"We're gonna….stop you." Black coughed and cracked his shoulder into place. "We're gonna….keep the humans safe!"
"Whatever, one more blast and the two of you are shut down." Wi-Fear chuckled and started to charge another blast.
"We're Horrorangers, we're the ones….who'll shut you down!" Green said determined as his and Black's visors flashed their colours. Wi-Fear snarled and fired his blast, as it got closer the two crossed their arms over their chest.
"True Monster, Awaken!" They called out and threw their arms aside. The fins on Green's arms and legs suddenly grew longer and sharper, while on his back sprouted out another fin like one on a shark. On Black's shoulder were now a pair of lightning rods, while his body seemed to grow a little bit taller and his muscles a little bigger. When the blast got close enough, Black stepped forward and took it full force, the energy from the attack going straight into the robs as the energy flowed into him.
"W-what?! What is this?!" Wi-Fear exclaimed.
"This is what a real monster looks like!" Green shouted and started to run to the Spawn, about half way there he jumped and dived into the ground, swimming through it as if it was water. He surfaced in front of Wi-Fear and scissor kicked the robot right in the face, making sure to use the sharper fins on his legs for extra damage before back flipping and slashing him with the arm find.
Black stomped his way over to Wi-Fear, who aimed his blaster and tried to fire more attacks, if not for the Franken to grab his cannon arm and start to crush it in his hand. The Spawn cried out in pain as he tried to free his arm, only for Black to rear back his other fist and punch him in the face.
Wi-Fear tumbled across the ground before groaning and springing to his feet, crying out in shock as he saw his arm cannon was destroyed.
"NO! My satellite!" He wailed. "You'll pay for this!"
"This is what you get…" Green said as he picked up his dropped Magnum. "For messing with this city!" He pressed a button near the handle, making the chamber flip out, spinning the chamber as it collected green energy.
BREAK AWAY…
The Magnum started to pulse with energy as he slammed the chamber back in, raising the gun above his head before holding it with both hands and aiming at Wi-Fear.
"Swampland, Hydro Chomp!" He pulled the trigger, and instead of a piranha the gun this time fired a green energy alligator that roared as it flew towards Wi-Fear, opening its maw and chomping onto the Spawn, making it yell out in pain before exploding. "Got him!"
With the last of the Dolls defeated, the team of six met back with Blue, Yellow, and Pink looking over the two's new forms.
"WOW, OH YOU GUYS LOOK AMAZING!" Pink squealed as she floated around them.
"Huh, did you get taller?" Blue asked as he looked up to Black's new height.
"Yeah….don't know why." He shrugged.
"You're fins got longer." Yellow said and poked the tip. "Ow, and sharper."
"Amazing, never before have I heard of unlocking the True Monster forms like this." Red said with a hand on his chin. "This is certainly something to note down."
"I'm just glad we managed to beat that guy, the internet's already dangerous enough as it is." Green joked as he and Black turned back to normal.
"How very….interesting." Terror Byte commented as his single eye zoomed in on the team. "The Green one somehow defeated my creation, he will be troublesome for sure."
"Enough with the analytics." Flesh Edger snarled and pushed him forward. "Hurry up and make him big!"
"You have no patience Edger, none indeed." Terror Byte said before pressing some buttons on his arm, transforming it into a type of gun and aiming towards the remains of Wi-Fear. "Initiate the download!" He fired a single bullet that burst into thousands of nanomachines that infested the Spawn's remains, quickly rebuilding him into a colossal giant.
"My connection just got a wider reach!" He cackled and tried to slam his foot down onto them. The team all ran away from the impact zone as they looked up at the giant.
"I'm guessing now we call our friends?" Yellow asked.
"Indeed it is." Red answered as they took out their Changers and Keys, inserting them into the bottom and pressing the button.
THE-SUMMONING!
"Summon, Monster Machine!" They raised their Changers and pressing the button on top.
"Crypt Chaser!"
"Luna Racer!"
"Bayou Lurker!"
"Thunder Tanker!"
"Desert Rover!"
"Spectral Chopper!"
The monsters took a running start before jumping up and landing in their Machines.
"Come on then, I'll take you all on!" Wi-Fear roared and fired his laser at them. The sixth drove off into different directions in order to avoid the blast. Chopper flew overheard and dropped a towline onto his back, trying the same thing she did before in pulling him down, this time not having the same effect as the Spawn spun around and knocked the helicopter away.
"Coming through!" Blue called and revved Racer's engine as he ramped off a building. Wi-Fear in return fired another blast at him, knocking him back to the ground.
"Well it's obvious running in head first isn't working!" Yellow said.
"Well maybe if we try it'll work just fine!" Rover said and suddenly took control as he rushed towards the Spawn. "Wheeee!"
"Wait, Rover no!" Yellow yelled as she tried taking control, Wi-Fear merely jumped over the jeep and kicked it over. "Dammit Rover!"
"Sorry!"
"Hahahahaha!" Wi-Fear cackled as he started to fire his lasers indiscriminately.
"Well we have to do something!" Red said and swerved out the way of some of the lasers, other ones barely skimming him.
"Hello, can you guys hear me?" Graves' voice said, speaking to all of them from within their machine.
"Graves? Are you in our heads?!" Blue yelled out.
"No Master Robert, I'm just using your Machines' radio systems to talk to you." The butler said.
"I don't mean to sound rude, but we're kind of in the middle of something!" Pink yelped and flew out the way of a blast.
"Well if that's the case, then I suppose you won't be interested in the mode I reinstalled into your Machines to help with this situation."
"Everyone else shut up! Graves, what mode do you mean?" Red asked and zoomed past Wi-Fear.
"A mode that will allow your Monster Machines to combine, I hope you will use it well." Graves said before hanging up.
"Did he said combine?" Black asked and fired some shots at the robot to disorientate him.
"If he means what I think he means, then we definitely have a chance!" Green said excitedly.
"Right, let's get it going! Kaijin Combination!" Red said before pressing the last top row button on the Changer followed by the numbers one to six.
THE-CREATION!

He then pressed the button on top.
COMBINE-INTO-TITAN!
Chaser started to drive along the streets with Tanker and Rover beside him, suddenly two skeletal hands sprouted from his body and grabbed onto a pair of buildings, lifting him up. Tanker pulled himself to a halt an began to stand vertically as he changed into a pair of legs. Rover ramped off a nearby bridge as the underside of himself flipped to his back and slotted himself onto the new pair of legs. Chaser lowered himself down as he started to change into a torso shape, a small head appeared between its shoulders having yellow eyes and a fang filled mouth.
Meanwhile, Racer and Lurker gained speed before jumping up. Racer's front wheel split in two and folded back while the front bow of Lurker spun around and unfolded, both revealing a clawed hand and becoming arms as they attached to the main body. Finally Chopper flew down and separated into two parts, the part with the copter blades attaching to the torso to become a chest piece while the end part changed into a helmet that adorned the giant's head.
"WOAH!" Each of the monsters yelled as they were flung into a shared cockpit in the giant's head.
"This is incredible!" Blue grinned.
"It's so big!" Yellow gasped.
"Wow…." Black whispered.
"I can see our house from up here!" Pink pointed out the window.
"This is just what we need to take this guy down!" Green clapped his hands.
"Unbelievable, this is one of the Dark Titans." Red said in shock.
"Dark Titans?" The other asked.
"Yes, the Dark Titan HallowJin is born!"
"HALLOWJIN!" The giant roared and slammed its claws together.
"Now let's finish him once and for all!" Red called out, to which the others agreed and grabbed the controls.
HallowJin snarled and advanced towards Wi-Fear. "Y-You don't scare me!" The Spawn yelled and fired some more blasts, the attack merely leaving some sparks flying off its body as the Titan got close enough and clawed across his chest, it started to relentlessly hack and slash at the Spawn before grabbing his shoulders and throwing him to the ground. "Ok, maybe you do scare me!"
"Now this is awesome!" Yellow cheered and punched the air.
"I've read about the Titans, they were used in the first war to combat the Spawns' growing abilities, but I never thought they'd be made from our Monster Machines." Green said.
Wi-Fear landed a punch across HallowJin's face and then one against his stomach. The Titan retaliated by grabbing his arm and biting into his shoulder before dropping him.
"I wonder what this button does?" Blue wondered and pressed a big red button. From behind HallowJin's back, the Titan pulled out a pitch black sword made from components of Tanker's gun barrel and Chaser's wings. "Oh cool a sword!"
Wi-Fear blasted another shot at the Titan, who merely deflected it with his new sword before rushing in and slashing the Spawn with enough force to cut into his metallic body.
"It's time to finish this once and for all!" Red said as they all grabbed the gear stick and moved it down to the skull and crossbones.
HallowJin let out a mighty roar as the blade glowed a menacing red. "HALLOWJIN! FULL FRIGHT FINISH!" They called out as he moved it slowly to the side before snarling and giving one last slash across Wi-Fear's chest, coating the sword in a strange green blood.
"My connection is….terminated!" Wi-Fear yelled before falling down and exploding.
The cockpit was filled with cheers and relief as they saw the robot fall.
"Monsters, this hunt is-!"
"Hey what's he doing?" Pink asked as HallowJin seemed to be moving his sword closer to his face.
"Might be a weird Titan thing? Who knows really?" Blue shrugged.
And then, to all of their surprise, HallowJin's mouth opened and out snaked a long reptilian tongue.
"Oh please don't tell me he's gonna…." Yellow dreaded. With that, the tongue started to lick the blood off of the sword, grossing out everyone inside, even Red seemed a little disgusted by it.
"I…guess this is part of the contract they made with the Titans…." He cleared his throat. "Anyway. Monsters, this hunt is over."
Meanwhile back on the ground, Jen was stuck in awe at the giant machine. She looked down at her camera and smiled at the new battle photos she got. "Oh these'll be great!" She giggled and left on her bike.
[The next day]
"You're kidding me, that human got photos of us fighting?!" Luther groaned and rubbed his face with both hands, on the living room's coffee table was the daily newspaper with the front cover being the Horrorangers' night time fight.
"I am so sorry sir!" Dan deeply apologised. "I'll make sure she doesn't get a single other photo! I'll keep my eye on her 24/7!"
"Oooooh, sounds like someone's got a crush!" Anippe and Robert said with a snicker.
"I don't dammit!"
"Ok, ok, look it's not so bad that you guys get a little coverage, at least it'll let the humans know you're on their side." Diana justified.
"She has a point." Chloe agreed with a cookie in her mouth.
Luther only sighed and threw the paper into the fireplace. "Let's just, try to be aware of her next time, we don't need a fan club or anything stupid like that."
"By the way Mr Graves, how did you get the combination function to work on our Monster Machines, I'm really curious." Dan asked.
"Ah, ah, ah, butlers are like magicians Master Daniel, we don't always reveal our secrets." The headless butler said with a wag of his finger.
"Anyway," Luther spoke up. "I believe I owe all of you an….apology, as much as I'd hate to, the Gillman and Franken proved today that the ridiculous training regimen was not needed to access the True Monster forms, if anything it still eludes me how you even did it. So yes, I am sorry for being too….bossy." He almost seemed to struggle saying the words.
"Well with that total awkwardness out of the way!" Diana said and clapped her hands. "I think you've all deserved to have an actual day out, and this time one with no interruptions!"
"Yeah, that would be nice." Anippe smiled as she and Chloe were the first ones to go.
"Yeah no, I think I'll just sleep or watch TV today, too much excitement for me." Robert waved off and headed upstairs.
"I just want drink, I'm off to the pub." Luther groaned and left.
Victor stuffed his hands in his pockets and was about to walk away if not for Dan to stop him in his place.
"Not so fast buddy."
"….why?"
"Because, I got a surprise for you, as a thanks for everything yesterday." Dan said and fished through his jean pockets, pulling out a pair of tickets. "Two tickets to London Zoo, just for me and you, whaddya say?"
Although it wasn't visible, Dan could almost see the smile on his face. "…Sure, thanks."
"Alright then, let's go!" Dan smiled as the two left, Diana saw them all go their separate ways with her own bright smile before realising something.
"Well shit, what am I gonna do?"
"Test Subject Wi-Fear failed experimentation, I will need further data in order to create new more affective Spawn." Terror Byte stroked the crest on his head and wandered around the pot.
"Test Subject? That was a soldier you created! And all you think of him is a petty piece of information?!" Flesh Edger roared and was about to attack.
"That is enough." Nightmare said and calmed the two down. "So far, both of you have done well in feeding me, but now it seems another is awakening." The two's attention was brought to the third coffin cracking open, the door crumbled and out stepped a feminine monster with a body made of vines and thorns, the top half of her face was a rose with the bottom half having black lips and pale white skin. She had what appeared to be thigh high boots and elbow long gloves as well as a crimson red hooded cape.
She yawned and stepped out of the coffin, giving a gently stretch as she looked around. "Hmm? Well, Ara Ara, it appears I'm not the first to awaken. Master Nightmare, I am to serve your every command." She said with a bow.
"Welcome to the modern world, Fable Reaper."
A/N: Good god this took too long to do, but thankfully, worth it.
So yeah we had the debut of Terror Byte's first Spawn, and yes for those asking there are modern day robot horror movies, look up Chopping Mall as well as The Banana Splits Movie.
We also have the debut of the team's Mecha, HallowJin, named appropriately after Halloween, my personal favourite holiday. The whole licking the blood off the sword thing was just a funny little added bonus I thought would work.
So anyway I will see you crazy kids in the next chapter.
