Wei Shi Keya had just left her dorm when outside she met with Jai Kang the highgold of their squad. He stood tall and proud with his spear in hand and his metallic hair shining in the light. On his left stood the other two Lowgolds the first was Song Lei of the cloud hammer school on her waist sat a small hammer and above her sat the gold sign of her path a cloud that floated above her head next to her stood Kotai Cui his grey skin meant he followed the path of Unstained Shield on his back sat his shield and sword. Kang was first to speak, breaking the silence. "So what's a Shi doing in the skysworn." Jai Kang asked Keya whilst she locked her door .
"Well my Father, Mother, Aunt Mercy and siblings all trained in the skysworn and it was worth it for the experience in combat and my family has ties with the empire while I could have the best training courses my father believes it is good to have a challenge." Keya replied
"Hpm, the skysworn never has any challenging missions. '' Kang snorted.
"Well why did you join then?" Keya asked.
"I was forced by my mother and uncle to try to teach me something they said. Like this could." Kang replied with anger in his voice.
"What about you two?" Keya asked, looking towards Song Lei and Kotai Cui.
"I joined the skysworn as they are elite and respected in the empire" Song Lei said
"Well I need to get stronger and would like to gain respect for myself and family." Kotai Cui said shyfully.
"Well then let's work together and i'm sure our goals will all work out." Keya said with a smile. Kang snorted and the other two nodded. Once they had finished talking they all went back out into the courtyard where Joy and Kai waited, next to them stood four thousand mile clouds as their group of recruits wouldn't have their own right now.
"You guys look amazing!" Joy cheered. She really did live up to her name. "So who wants to know about the mission?" She said.
"Just tell us." Kang said, the man was really talking down to the highest ranking Truegold in the empire.
"Very well, We have reports of a thief that keeps stealing a bunch of bindings from different stores. Nothing new except they keep stealing storm madra, hunger madra, blood madra, dream madra and earth madra." Joy said.
"That's the main madra type used by dreadgod cults.'' Keya said nervously. Two dreadgod cults had been destroyed but some of their members had survived. Abyssal palace had been destroyed before she was born and Red moon hall had been destroyed after the destruction of the bleeding phoenix only a year after she was born. Her Mother had seen to that.
"Exactly but there are only two dreadgod cults left whilst only a few members of the other two are left, from reports the thief is highgold so Keya and Kang will face them head on whilst Lei and Cui will keep them from escaping." Kai said. "We will watch from above if anything goes too bad we will intervene. So let's move." Kai said
They all got on their thousand mile clouds and descended into the city. It was really busy today as blackflame city always was but something didn't sit right with Keya and she couldn't tell why. She looked towards her brother, his short brown hair lightly flowing in the wind and his gold sign which changed his skin colour a light red blazed as he seemed to cycle his madra.
A communication construct arrived at Kai and it shouted out the message. "HIGHGOLD THIEF TOWARDS THE MARKETS STEALING BINDINGS."
"Alright Skysworn move towards the market and try to find our target if you find anything, use this construct to say a message and it will find me and Joy we will follow shortly behind you." Kai said to them as they were just above the buildings before he passed a construct to Cui.
"Let's move!" Keya said before pouring more pure madra into her cloud to make it move faster. Shortly they arrived at the marketplace. "Where did the thief go?" Keya asked an oldman at a stall that seemed to be a weapons market.
"They ran over in that direction not too long ago you might be able to catch up." The old man said.
"Gratitude." Keya said she darted off on her thousand mile cloud as the others followed her. They then spotted a hooded figure running through the streets with an enforcer technique that had to be them.
"Over there!" Keya shouted before shooting off on her cloud. She stopped in front of the thief and they jumped over her and headed towards an alleyway. She jumped off her cloud and used her own enforcer technique, the soul cloak before following, her team wasn't far behind and she caught up to the thief.
"You are under arrest for disturbing the peace and stealing bindings. " Keya shouted, switching to her blackflame core to put more anger into her words. Her team shortly arrived. "Did you send a message to Kai and Joy" Keya asked
"Yes they should be above soon" Cui said
"Well Kang let's have some fun." Keya said. The highgold returned a smile before charging at the thief stella spear madra flowing through him and his spear. But the thief didn't move they just laughed then Keya noticed it, they were veiling themself they just revealed their spirit and they were truegold. No matter their squad should be able to contain them it shouldn't be too hard then all of a sudden five more truegolds revealed themself coming out from above and from behind the corner they were trapped Keya and her squad just had to hope Kai and Joy turned up but it was too late. Cui and Lei were then stabbed in the back falling to the ground whilst Kang got trapped in an earthen tomb from a construct the thief threw at him and Keya had a large hammer slammed into her from above. She sprang the burning cloak around herself but it was too late she went flying into the ground her madra was burning quick as the figure repeatedly slammed their hammer into her until eventually she was forced to drop the burning cloak. She then launched a blackflame at the tomb that held Kang but it had no effect then the figure with the hammer slammed it into her chest. She was now bleeding hoping that Kai came soon as her eyes changed from the black and red haze to ocean blue.
Kai flew next to Joy they had just received a message from Cui saying that they have found the thief and they were at an alley just over by the marketplace so they flew over however he used his spiritual sense to look for them and Joy must have been doing the same thing because they both sensed it at the same time six truegold presences just unveiled themself and he looked over towards were he felt them and it was an alleyway he cycled his madra and speeded off.
Redhammer was getting tired of this girl; she didn't even pose a challenge to their group. He had just beaten her to near death and she was still babbling about something he didn't care about. They only needed the highgold boy and any truegold that came along so hopefully they sent out a signal to get their leaders here. From reports and rumours they just had to hope this group wasn't being led by an Akura and from what he had heard an Wei they would be bad news.
"When my brother gets here you are all dead" The girl said. Their group laughed.
"And what can your brother do? There are six of us even if he is truegold I doubt he could handle one of us." A stormcaller girl said. They all continued to laugh. The girl smiled at that and laughed with them now.
"Why are you laughing?" Redhammer asked, clutching his blood shadow tighter.
"Well you don't know who you are dealing with then." The girl chuckled. All of a sudden a thousand mile cloud appeared above next to it was a girl who sat on her staff and before any of them could react a man blazing in fire dropped down and the earthen tomb used to trap the highgold shattered into dust as the smoke faded behind it stood a tall muscular man he had red skin that currently looked like it was blazing. Short brown hair with a burn scar across his right eye and a piece of cloth that covered his lower face leaving only his piercing green eyes showing. On his back sat one long bladed sword.
"Why did you have to try and kill my new team of all the teams?" The man said. So this was the truegold and probably the girl's brother but he wasn't an Akura and Redhammer didn't know what the Wei looked like so he couldn't tell so they didn't have to worry much. Redhammer thought.
"What do you expect to do to us." Redhammer snorted. "There are only two of you and six of us" Then from behind him the other truegold dropped down off their staff next to two of the lowgolds they had just killed. The staff now turned into a bow. Redhammer looked up to see the girl's face and suddenly he felt fear. Staring back at him was bright purple eyes and she did not look happy.
"How are those two doing?" Kai shouted over to Joy who was currently checking on Cui and Lei.
"They..." She looked up staring towards Kai and their foes and said "They are gone." Kai immediately felt anger this was the first time that he had a group die most of the time they couldn't handle the later missions as they were given tough assignments so they would all join different squads whilst Kai and Joy would take on Truegold missions and wait for the next recruitment process this time he hadn't been here quick enough rage flowed through him and as he cycled his madra his skin began to glow. He had failed Xun he said he would protect his cousin and he had failed not only Xun but his parents as his sister was badly injured. He picked up Kang who had been crushed by the prison and took him further back and laid him against the wall.
"You can come in peacefully or I will kill all six of you and give me the lowgold remnants" Kai said to his enemies. He at least wanted to return the remnants to Xun and the Kotai boys family. A man wearing a mask with one glowing yellow eye laughed at him before throwing a construct at his feet Kai didn't have time to react as an earther tomb formed around him. He laughed to himself whilst inside it he cycled his madra to his fists using his striking technique, the forger's fist, and he slammed the wall of the makeshift prison and it shattered into dust.
"What? That prison would hold any Truegold!" The masked man shouted at Kai. Kai just laughed in response before he used his enforcer technique, blazing armour and closed the distance between him and the man and slamming his fist into his face the mask shattered in an instant after that Kai used his striker technique once again and used his fist to send out a wave of fire and force madra and kill the man. He then turned to see a stormcaller girl her goldsign a lightning band across her arm sparking as she sent a bolt of lightning hurling towards him. Kai just tilted his head to the left and the striker technique grazed his shoulder and went straight through the remnant that was beginning to form behind him. Kai used his enforcer technique again as the stormcaller girl began to use another striker technique he let it hit him and the technique did nothing to halt his movement he pulled his sword off his back and sliced through the girls stomach as her remnant formed he let go with his right hand and struck at her remnant destroying it in one punch of his striker technique.
Akura Joy followed a similar path to her mothers it was the path of seven pages however it wasn't the book of eternal night but the book of unending midnight it used ranged techniques similar to the book of eternal night as her mother and grandmother had believed that those that fought in close range were mindless savages. This was also why when Kai and Joy had reached truegold she took the number one spot as she had defeated him many times although working together had made it so Kai had started to almost win.
Joy shot an arrow at the floor of who she assumed was a silent servant before they could cover the area in dream aura, the arrows madra latched around the servant before they became encased in shadow madra and toppled over in a cocoon before it pulled it stringing it in the alleyway. Joy then layered her techniques into her bow before launching it at another stormcaller that was charging towards her the arrow pierced through the man's heart and before he could reach her he toppled over his remnant began to form and and before the storm madra could develop Kai had sent a striker technique in it's direction as soon as it formed it burst into sparks of flame.
Kai and Joy now faced two final truegolds both were from red moon hall it seemed. One must have been somewhat sane as he used his blood shadow as a hammer whilst the other was crazy looking and they couldn't tell where their bloodshadow was; it must have been destroyed or hidden in their robes. "Who are you?" The man with the redhammer asked.
"Wei Shi Kai and that's Akura Joy. Now where are their remnants." Kai replied. The man with the redhammer laughed before he launched a bolt of blood madra at Kai. He jumped out the way the striker technique crashed into the wall next to Kai. "Missed me" Kai said with a smile before he reignited the blazing armour then he slammed the man into the wall next to him. He followed it up by activating the truegold binding within his sword before slashing at the man and sending a wave of fire and force madra at him. If the wall hadn't already cracked from Kai throwing the man into the wall it now collapsed from the weight of that attack. He turned to see the last member of this gang holding a sword at his sister.
"You move and I slice her up" The red moon girl said. Kai immediately froze; he couldn't let his sister die as well but before he could say anything Keya struck at the truegold with what little madra she had left in her blackflame core and the red moon girl's arm was burnt in a rage the girl slashed down with the sword. Kai saw the world go dark except this one truegold before him his enforcer technique still blazed and he held the girl up in an instant before Joy or even the red moon girl could say anything he punched his other hand using his striker technique straight into her he then tossed her to the side before coming too and looking down towards his little sister. Keya hadn't been killed but her arm had come clean off Kai immediately opened his void key and pulled out medical supplies he immediatly bandged her arm and gave her a healing elixir and pill. He closed his void key and slumped on the ground then all of a sudden behind the blood remnant that was forming a blue and black portal appeared.
