OMG. Thank you for the feedback. I wasn't expecting any. Thank you so much 3
He woke as the night slowly changed its color from black to grey. Sunrise was ahead. He loved this time of the day and he loved the feeling of the warm body in his arms.
"Alex." He whispered. No response.
"Hey, Alex swee…" NO! Not sweetheart. Alex was okay, but sweetheart?
She nuzzled her face deeper into his shirt obviously unwilling to wake up.
He chuckled. "If you do that every time I try to wake you, you will suffocate."
With still closed eyes she asked. "What time is it?"
"A quarter to five."
"Why did you wake me up?" she complained, eyes still closed "We have at least two more hours."
His smile grew bigger. She was still asleep. He had noticed this before; she was not a morning person. But while others got up all grumpy and refused to say a word before their first coffee Alex simply tried everything to catch a bit more sleep. And she could talk while being asleep and not remember a single word when she woke up. This was so cute… cute a word he would have never connected with his partner. Strong, definitely. Independent, oh yes! Beautiful, hell most beautiful woman in the world! But cute? Yes, incredibly cute right now.
Bobby suddenly felt a rush of jealousy towards her dead husband. Joe got to see this wonderful Alex every morning. Maybe that was the reason why she was still in his arms? Did she believe it was Joe holding her? He decided to play along if that was what it took to keep her a little longer close to him.
"Okay, you are right sweetheart… go back to sleep, I'll wake you up when breakfast is ready." He whispered and kissed the top of her head.
"I don't think they serve breakfast here, Bobby." She answered and he froze.
"Are… are you awake?" he asked slowly.
She lifted her head and opened her eyes: "Yes, you woke me up about two minutes ago, remember?"
Bobby was stunned and his mind started to race. What now? This was not good. Or was it? After all, she was still there. Obviously, she didn't mind being in his arms.
"You okay?" she asked. She had seen the concerned look on his face.
He blinked and smiled: "Yeah, how are you?" Stupid question! Couldn't you come up with something better? He cursed himself.
"Warm… safe… and…" she suddenly brushed her lips against his and it took him only a second to return the kiss. It was soft and sweet and ended way too fast.
"… and loved." He finished her sentence and she nodded.
"Now, can we please sleep a little bit more?"
For the first time in years, Bobby felt happy. "Of cause we can."
She smiled and nuzzled her face to his neck. "And just so you know it, I still want that breakfast you promised."
"Anything you want,… anything you want." He replayed and felt her smile.
"Anything you want,… anything you want."
Alex smiled. This was easier than she thought. She had expected him to jump out of the bed as soon as he realized that she was actually awake.
Yesterday she had been grateful for his comfort. She could have died in that bank without having the chance to tell Bobby how she felt. So when he said that he needed to hold her she welcomed this chance and her last thought before she had fallen asleep was. Oh, to hell with the consequences.
Slowly she drifted back into sleep only to be woken up again.
"Eames?"
Don't! Bobby, just don't.
"Eames… wake up."
"Don't Eames me after we kissed." She complained and looked at him.
"The kiss was two hours ago," Bobby said. "Maybe I need a new one to refresh my memory about your first name?"
There was something in his voice she had not heard in years. It was carefree and there was no insecurity.
"Don't push your luck." She replayed playfully.
"Oh I'll push it until it runs out, which might be as soon as we get back to New York but until then…"
She stopped him with another kiss. And when it ended he grinned like a schoolboy: "It worked."
Alex chuckled softly: "What have I got myself into?"
His smile was so full of emotion: "We'll see where this leads us."
They kissed again and both felt like this was mend to be.
The End
Okay, there was not much oh Alex's point of view but I tried.
Now I'll work on a new story… I don't know why I have suddenly so many in my mind but they want to get out so maybe if you like, see you next time
