Violet POV:
Dark eyes, so much hope, there was so much to love about Duncan. His imperfect hair is just so.. WAIT! NO! 'Damn it Violet, Do you love Quigley or Duncan?' I whispered to myself, apparently a little to loud.
"Ha! I called it Sunny!" Klaus laughed and I blushed.
"You win." Sunny answered.
"I'd stay out of love bets with Klaus, he still hasn't picked. Is it gonna be Fiona or Isadora?" I said slyly.
"That's different!" He countered.
"Really? At least I didn't kiss both of them." I slightly yelled, I may have been a little overstressed by the whole, well you know.
"Ok, two points, one, Isa kissed me on the cheek, and Fiona, she kissed me, I didn't kiss back. Two, you say that, but I spied a spark between you and Quigley after the waterfall climb, and you and Duncan were missing at the same time sometimes." He smirked his response after blushing. I hate to admit it but he is right.
"Ok, fine, I kissed Quigley," I covered Sunny's ears, "And made out with Duncan behind the Prufrock Bleachers, Cliche right?" I blushed SO hard. This was not something I wanted to be discussing with my 14 year old brother. He stifled a laugh. "Oh shut up, and go to bed." I slept soundly for the first time in more than a year, the Quagmires were safe. I had a really good feeling. I was 16 years old, and my life was finally looking up!
Klaus POV
I had slept so well last night, so this morning, I woke up Beatrice, and I went and talked to Sadie the Pirate, she said we would be docking with 'The Great Unknown' In 20 minutes. I found out that the Great Unknowns code name was the Real Last Safe Place, RLSP for short. I went back to the cabin and woke up Sunny, she got dressed and we headed out. Violet must have left when Me and Beatrice were on a walk because she was talking to the Red-haired pirate about something to do with the boats engine. We grabbed our bags and went to the docking deck. I saw a submarine- sea creature looking thing emerge out of the water. We walked out to the top of the submarine and knocked.
"Whats the password?" We heard a voice say.
"The world is quiet here." Me and my siblings echoed. The latch opened, much like the one on the Queequeg, though I could tell that this submarine was way bigger. A girl who looked to be my age with long brown hair came up to us.
"Hello Baudelaires, L.S. and Q.Q have requested to see you, but I must get you situated first. There is a dress code but no uniform." Before we had time to ask any questions to this mystery girl, she showed us our room, It was giant, like two hotel rooms put together, the best living accommodations we've had sense 667 dark avenue. "Klaus, Violet, your coats are over there," She said pointing to two coats, "They are Black, and inconspicuous, granted, everyone here has been trained to be inconspicuous. Sunny's coat is red, for junior, same design, same fabric, different color. Our seamstress is still working on Beatrice's coat, as we were not aware of Kit's peril until recently, our in-house cartographer drew you a map to the Seamstresses office, you can stop there before you go to your meeting." By this time Me, Violet and Sunny had pulled on our coats. I recognize this girl, but I just can't place it. "Any questions?" She asked.
"Yes, two actually," I said dumbfound.
"Shoot." She answered.
"Ok, one, what's your name, or your initial at least, we know VFD is very secretive."
"You can call me C, or C.B., but I prefer C."
"Ok, thank you C, what is your talent, all VFD related people seem to have one. And where is your family?" I asked the last part quickly, but I had a feeling her family situation wasn't ideal.
"An excellent question Mr. Baudelaire, one that I was anticipating. The short answer is I am a Fast-talker-public speaking- martial arts expert." C sighed. "And for my family, I was born about 14.5 years ago, My father and mother were brave volunteers, or so i've heard, I was born a twin, Villains grabbed me soon after I was born, apparently, I wouldn't stop crying, so the villain, Count Olaf was it, left me to die. L.S. found me, and has raised me since, but we like to keep that on the hush. My parents were devastated, but the organization couldn't let them know I was alive, It would have put a lot of people in danger, including the siblings I've heard I have. I don't know the whole history, but you seem like nobel people, and I have a feeling you will want to know my newest discovery when I am ready to tell you." Me and my sisters hugged C after this, some tears were going down her face, she continued talking "For now, I will watch Beatrice, and Sunny, If you like. And you to can meet up with Q.Q and company, but don't be late for your meeting with L.S., It is at 2pm. I will meet back up with you for that meeting and I will bring Sunny and Bea, for they are as much a part of this as you two are."
"Sounds good." Me and Violet choresed. Part of me wanted to stay and find out more about this girl, it seems like deja vu, but I knew who Q.Q. was, and I really hoped 'company' was who I drept it to be. Me and Violet left Sunny and Bea with C. We got tp the place circled on the map, picked up Bea's coat for later, and then we went to the other room circled on the map, we knocked and were suddenly enveloped with hugs.
Isadora POV
Me and my brothers found out last night that we had made contact with the Baudelairs, and we immediately set up a meeting under Q.Q, seeing Quigley was the only one of us with a legal VFD name. We heard a knock on the door and I flinged it open and grabbed Klaus in a hug.
"Klaus!"
"Violet!" I heard my brothers echo, though Duncan got the first hug, Violet seemed happy about that. Quigley got a hug to but Violet didn't seem as happy, so she hugged Duncan again, looks like she made her mind up, easy peasey.
"Hey Vi!" I said, releasing Klaus and side-hugging my best friend.
"Hey Isa, Its been to long."
"Ya it has." Duncan said quietly. "Tomorrows our birthday you know, but this is the best birthday surprise ever." He finished happily, he received another tight hug from Vi.
Violet POV
That was the easiest decision I ever made, I hugged Duncan, and I felt amazing, like I was soaring, I hugged Quigly, I still felt like I was soaring, but it was like my feet were still touching the ground, I hugged Duncan again, and I just knew it. I loved Quigley, but just as a friend, and I loved Duncan, as maybe more. We caught up the Quagmires on the situation and they offered to walk us to the meeting room, where L.S., C, Bea, and Sunny were already waiting, It was about then I realized everyone but Sunny and Bea were waring Black jackets, It was kind of odd. I also recognized the person standing next to C.
"Lemony Snicket?" I asked. "You were in a taxi, the night of the Hotel Denouement fire, you offered for us to run away with you, why." This kind of came rushing out of my mouth.
"Yes Violet, I was there that night. I offered to take you with me because well, sit down." He offered us, C, and the Quagmires a chair, I realized I was holding Duncan's hand, I didn't know when I started to hold it, I just sorta did. "I knew your mother, I'm sure you've heard about the schism, the night of the Opera."
"Of Course." My rechercher brother stated, obviously intrigued.
"Well, you should probably know, I didn't through the dart, your mother did, I took the fall for her because I loved her to death, and to Lam, she ran away to an Island, she met your father, had Violet on the Island(A/N this doesn't make sense according to series but you'll see why this alteration is necessary next chapter, or this one.). They moved back here, bought a mansion, and lived their life, until 3 years ago that is." He said this sadly, he obviously cared. But something else was nagging at him.
"What else?" I asked, he looked to C before he looked back at me.
"Let me tell you a story, 14 and a half years ago, I was reunited with your mother for the last time, I was at the hospital because Kit had just broken her legs, and I was disguised as my brother. Your mother was in labor, and Bertrand was not there, just 2 hours later, she had given birth, to twins." Klaus' mouth dropped and so did mine. "She had recognized me, and told me to hold her twins, It was a girl and a boy, she wanted to name one Lemony, but that was far to dangerous. So, one was named Klaus, and one, one was named Camila." I stayed silent. We knew that there was more to the story. "I said goodbye to your mother, It was to dangerous for me to be there, I left in my taxi, but later that day I received a Volunteer Factual Dispatch." he handed Klaus a piece of worn paper, and he started to read it, but Camila beat him to it.
"Dear L.S.," She recited. "B.B's second twin taken. Count Olaf responsible. We will find her. And reunite her with her family." Camila sighed. "But they couldn't, It was to dangerous then, and It is still to dangerous, Lemony is doing me a really big favor, I just hope you accept me." She started crying and Klaus grabbed her in a hug and said something surprising.
"We may have been separated at birth, but you are still my twin, even if it 14.5 years delayed. Me, Violet, Sunny, we are your only family, and If there is anything I learned from the last three years, life never goes as planned." He was crying at this point to. Sunny was hugging Camila's leg, and I joined in on the hug after handing Bea to Duncan.
"I know this is kind of off topic, but you never mentioned, uhh, who's baby is this?" Duncan asked, and we all laughed, Duncan, the comic relief.
