Cassie hid in Ginny's room, hoping no one would find her for a while. She needed the space to clear her head, but she knew she would have to face them at some point. Guilt already weighed heavily on her, along with the knowledge that she would have to lose them all to keep her safe. It was only way she could ensure their protection.
Voldemort may not have intended her to marry Lucius, but he would certainly use it to his advantage. It was best all round if Cassie remained in the dark about the Order's activities. The Death Eaters were not beyond torture or other means to extract information, so Cassie would rather have nothing to give them. If she died in the process, so be it. The Order came first.
Once she had changed out of her dress, she gathered up her things into her bag knowing she wouldn't be returning at any time soon. The thought of not seeing the people she loved again hit her hard and collapsed onto Ginny's bed as heart-breaking sobs spilled out of her. It would easier for her to just leave so she didn't have to say goodbye to them.
Ginny watched as Cassie sobbed into the pillow. Cassie was one of the strongest, toughest people she knew and to see her so devastated had hurt Ginny. She looked up to Cassie and always knew that Cassie was always there for her like a big sister.
She walked back downstairs, trying to catch Tonks' attention. Fortunately, Tonks had caught on quickly and followed Ginny back up the stairs.
Tonks' heart broke when she saw her little sister sobbing on the bed. "Cassie." She soothed as sat on the bed with her, giving her a much needed cuddle. "We'll find a way of fixing this. We can hide you somewhere."
"You don't understand, Dora." Cassie wiped her tears away; her head had started to hurt from the crying. "I have a tracker on me now. If I leave, they'll find me."
"We'll fix it."
Cassie got up from the bed and grabbed her bag, slinging it over her shoulder. "Dora, we both know that I'm a security risk now. They have ways to get information and they'll use them."
"You can't just leave, Cassie." Ginny cried.
Cassie pulled Ginny to her in a crushing hug. "I'll be alright. Once Harry has done what he needs to, I can come home again."
"Just don't put yourself at risk." Tonks and Cassie hugged one last time. "Promise me you won't."
"I won't." Cassie felt like she was going to break. She was going miss her family. They had got her through some tough times, especially losing Sirius all over again. Ted Tonks, Remus, and Arthur Weasley had become surrogate fathers to her. Andromeda and Molly Weasley were like mothers to her and then all of those siblings that came along with that.
Then there was Percy, her boyfriend of just over a year. They were close and she was happy with him. "Tell Percy that I'm sorry."
Tonks and Ginny headed downstairs, right in the middle of a heated discussion between Remus and Andromeda.
"You think Cassie wanted to marry that man?" Andromeda snapped.
"She should have come to us for help."
"Cassie is not stupid. If she could have found a way out then she would have."
"She's just like her father. She thinks she knows everything."
"Stop it." Tonks yelled, causing everyone to turn their attentions to her. "Cassie's gone. She is like her father and like Sirius, she'll put herself in danger to protect the ones she loves. The least we can do is make her time stuck there as short as possible."
"She's a smart girl. She'll find a way of surviving." Molly tried to reassure them both.
Cassie had managed to survive the first week married to Lucius by keeping out of his way. She left early in the morning for Grimmauld Place and returned late in the evening to sleep in her room. She didn't eat there or go in any of the other rooms in the Manor.
The clearing up and out of Grimmauld Place was enough for a while to keep Cassie mind busy. If she thought about the predicament was she in, she was liable to cry and she had done enough of that already.
She had worked hard to make Grimmauld place a more inviting place to be. It would be her home for life, and she wanted to make it a proper home.
She stood in front of her grandmothers portrait debating with herself how she could shut her up. She had tried to be getting her off the wall but that wasn't happening so she would have to mute her somehow. She had searched through books and finally found the answer. A muting spell.
"Ok you old bitch. I can't get rid of you, but I'll bloody shut you up." She cast the spell and instantly Walburga was silent. "Ugh, finally."
It had got to 8pm and Cassie returned to Malfoy Manor. It was quiet when she returned, which she was glad about. It meant that she could get into her room without seeing Lucius. She wasn't worried about seeing Draco. He was just as unhappy as she was.
As she rounded the corner up the stairs, she came face to face with the very person she would rather avoid. Lucius moved to the side and let her pass without comment. She strolled passed him, trying control the urge to scuttle off quickly into her room, but she didn't want to give Lucius the satisfaction.
She was in reasonable spirits until she read her mail. She had received a letter from Umbridge, telling her that she had an appointment on September 1st at the Purity Preservation Department with her Husband.
On her birthday of all days. It was hard enough knowing that she wouldn't be allowed to return to Hogwarts for her 7th year. Now she actually had to spend time with her Husband on her birthday, being interrogated by the pink bitch herself.
Boy, did she need a drink.
