The doorbell rings, Maria tells Danny : I'll get it
As the door opens Erin sees Maria dressed in Danny's sweets and has a very confused look on her face
Erin: Maria, am I interrupting something…. I just came by to check up on Danny to see if he needed any company… I called several times last night and he didn't answer….. so I got worried
Maria: No, actually I did the same thing…. He was all bummed out yesterday…. So, I've been keeping him company
Danny yells out: Maria…. Who is it
Erin: it's your sister….. the one that you don't return phone calls to
Danny rushes in and gives Erin a kiss on the cheek: sorry about the phone calls … we got a little tied up on a case and I lost track of time
Erin: What case are you working on…. Anything that's going to involve me….
Danny hesitates abit…. Maria's just stares at Danny looking for answer
Erin becomes suspicious as she sees Maria's and Danny's eye's going back and forth trying to put together a cohesive story
Erin: What's going on with you two…. Maria is in your sweets …. Are you two starting to fool around now that Sean is not in the house
Danny: didn't I tell you Maria, first Eddie and now Erin…. We can't keep anything private
Erin: Daniel Reagan…. Start explaining yourself ….. what are you trying to keep private …. Are you two sleeping together now
Maria's face cringes… Danny takes a deep breath: We are getting married
Erin: What… When… How….. you haven't said a word….. How long have you been seeing each other…. romantically
Maria: 24 hours…..
Erin's mouth drops: 24 hours and you decided to get married… This you have to explain to me
Danny: your making it sound like we're two love starved kids….. this in away has been 23 years in the making….. the lightbulb didn't click in my head until last night
Maria: Erin…. I've been in love with Danny since the first time I saw him in high school…. I was too shy to say anything to him and when Linda entered the picture…. I resigned myself to the fact that it was not meant to be….. Please don't think that we ever did anything while Linda was alive or even after….. it's only been since we were locked in the seller, by that serial killer that we finally admitted that we loved each other. Even then we didn't do anything.
Danny: could you not say anything… we're trying to figure everything out ….. We want to tell Jack and Sean first and then tell the rest of the family
Erin rushes to give Maria a hug and a kiss : I couldn't be more happy…. I've got another sister….. welcome to the family
Maria: Thank you, the last 24 hours have been amazing… I've never been happier
Erin: So when is the big day
Danny: soon
Maria: You know your brother the choir boy….. he thinks he is dishonoring me…. If we are sleeping together and aren't married
Danny: now that you're going to be my wife… you deserve respect…. I don't want to hear any knuckle head saying anything different…. Is that so wrong

Maria: I messed up putting your sweets on…. Soon as she saw me with them on she knew that something was up…. Will she talk?
Danny: Now that Erin knows and Eddie suspects we got to go tell Dad…. He'll be pissed off if he's the last to find out … you want to get changed and we'll go over there.
Danny and Maria enter the Reagan house and Henry walks up to them
Henry: Welcome Maria, your a pleasant surprise….. do you two need to talk to Francis
Danny: We need to talk to both of you
Frank walks in and surprised to see Maria begins to ask questions: What brings the two of you….. is there a problem that I'm not aware of.
Danny: Dad… there is no problem, but before the Reagan news wire starts rolling…. Maria and I need to share something with you
Frank: What is it
Danny once again takes a deep breath: I asked Maria to marry me and she said yes
Henry: Well it's about time…. Come here Maria, Let me give you a hug
Frank with his big cheeky smile: As a father…Welcome to the family, Maria … As the Commissioner …. how did this all happen?….when did it happen ?
Danny: we didn't break any protocol….. we haven't been sneaking around….. in fact last night was the first time we've gone on a date…. We started talking and we decided we belong together….. that's how it happened
Maria: with us being partners some may draw conclusions, but what Danny said that's what happened. I've loved Danny for a very long time and when I saw how lonely he was with Sean going away to school, I could no longer not be with him. This won't effect our working together…. Work is work, home is home we won't cross that line.
Frank: When is the wedding
Danny: Soon…. It's only been 24 hours….. Eddie has already suspected, Erin caught us in my house…. We wanted to tell Jack and Sean first , but that isn't going to happen…. We've been trying to figure out how we're going to make it work, where we're going to live… but being a Reagan makes it even more difficult.
Frank: Maria…. Don't take this the wrong way… Danny… the last 5 years have been very hard on you… I better than anyone understand that… but, I wouldn't be your father if I didn't ask this… did this decision come because you love Maria or because you're afraid of being alone
Danny: Outside of Linda I've never felt I could even look at another woman….. Maria has always understood that… she knows me better than I know myself… she's been my friend, my partner and now my lover….. yes, I love her and I can't live without her….. that's why it was so easy to ask her
Maria: Commissioner….. I've seen what Danny has gone through….. I know how much he loved Linda….. that's why I never even hinted as to how I felt about him, but after all this time …. I make him happy and he is a dream come true for me…. It's time for us to be happy with each other. I would never do anything to hurt Danny.
Henry: Francis….. how many guys can say that they found two women in their lifetime that loved them like that. I didn't and you certainly didn't, especially some of those you started sleeping with.
Danny and Maria look at each other with a surprised look… Grandpa told it like it is
Danny: Gramps…. Are you telling me….. St Francis has been not so saintly….. I've been trying to live up to his expectations…. I could have been enjoying making love to Maria this whole time

As Danny and Maria go back to Danny's house Henry and Frank have a little conversation as to what has just transpired
Henry: I like that girl…. She knows exactly how to keep Danny in line and isn't afraid to say it.
Frank: Did you have to bring up my private life
Henry: Being the Commissioner, there isn't anything about you that's private…. I should know….. Danny needed to know that you're human….. Did you disrespect me , when you found out about me… Danny was on a collision course with himself and what he perceived that he had to be. I'm thankful that Maria made him come to his senses and gave him a good fucking…. She must be real good. Your son my grandson looks happier than he has been in a very long time.
Frank : Pop…. You have a way with words….. Danny looks happy and Maria is the reason for it….. Jamie made a legal case to keep Eddie as his partner and then her boss…. I'll see what the backlash will be tomorrow.
Henry: Let them get married…. Then you can determine what you will be force to do as Commissioner….. give them their honeymoon period where they can fuck their brains out, before the real world takes over
Frank: Pop …. I think you're right…. Officially I don't have to do anything until they are married.
Once Danny and Maria get back to the house, they get ready for bed where Danny get's his eyes filled with seeing Maria undress and showing her body to him.

Danny calls Father Quinn
Danny: Father Quinn…. This is Danny Reagan…. I need to ask a favor….. How quick can you do a Marriage
Father Quinn: Danny ….. did you get someone pregnant….. is that why it needs to be quick
Danny: No…. it's nothing like that…. We've decided and we just want it to be soon…. You know me ….. I don't want to keep coming to confession everyday, before the wedding
Maria shakes her head: I can't believe you just said that
Father Quinn: I understand…. Go get your marriage license and bloodwork and Let me pencil in one week from this Saturday , at 3:00 PM , I'll be finished with all the young ones getting married… Bye the way Danny… Congratulations, she must be special if you want to marry her
Danny: Thank you Father…. She is
Maria: What did he say
Danny: He said …. You must be really special if I'm marrying you…. One week from this Saturday at 3:00 PM is your last day as a single woman
Maria leans over and gives Danny a kiss on the cheek : I love you …Danny Reagan
They get to their desks and they have a murder/ suicide at Assisted Living Facility. They arrive at 35 W 9th street and Facility Manager Edwin James gives them pertinent information
Danny: Mr James… I'm Detective Danny Reagan and this is my partner Maria Biaz… what can you tell us as to what happened
Mr James: David and Eleanor Stein were long time residents and such a loving couple. Eleanor had Alzheimer's and was forgetting David on a daily basis and this was putting a huge strain on David. He did everything for Eleanor. When they didn't show up for Dinner and Breakfast this morning the staff assigned to them informed me of their absence. After repeated nocks on their door and telephone calls to their room , I decided to open the room to see if anything was wrong… I found them in this condition and I immediately called the police
Maria: Did anyone hear anything…. Was there an argument
Mr James: No one heard anything
Danny: Did they have any friends that they may have confided in …. Do they have any family members that came to see them , that may give us a clue to their thinking
Mr James: I wish I could be more of help…. But David and Eleanor, where loners and very isolated….. You can ask their attendants if any family member came to see them….. what's sad is Alzheimers take a huge toll on families when it reaches the state that Eleanor reached
Danny: from what we can see David suffocated Eleanor with a pillow while she was sleeping and then laid next to her and took all those sleeping pills and died holding her hand. Amazing as to what love makes one do. Maria get the patrol officers to collect and tag all the evidence, but this looks like a mercy killing / suicide. We will try to find any relatives . Mr James if your staff could find any of that information we will follow up
Maria can't get that image of that old couple laying in bed and what brought them to their fate.
Maria: Danny…. We've seen a lot of horrible scenes over the years, but today's was different…. It was sad, but also happy….. would you do that for me if I got that bad
Danny: Let's not talk about that…. We are just starting….. we have a lot of life to live…. When we get to that age then we'll talk, but now is not the time, especially since we have our wedding date set…. I'm only thinking as to how your going to treat me tonight and if I've got to go to confession tomorrow
