Daytime was approaching, and Varmok was terrified. He looked back to check just in case is that freak was following from behind, or if she snuck on board.
"Damnit! Ah man, damnit." He didn't know what to think. Who would anyway after your crew gives themselves up to send a highly important message.
The ship appraoched the harbor. As it did, one of the harborers noticed something strange... very strange.
This ship had one man, and it was missing it's crew.
"Hold it Varmok! Where the hell is the rest of your crew!?" He said
"Hey look, listen ok? You gotta listen to me, please. They were killed off!" Varmok looked traumatized, and it was clearly visible to everyone that he was irrationally scared right now. "This thing we found, this person killed off our whole crew. They gave themselves up to let me... they're gone. That thing killed them!"
"Alright son, take it easy." The Harborer tried to calm Varmok down. "You know what they look like? A name maybe?" He said.
"Actually I do. We need to get word to the fire nation! Is there anyway he can get a message over to them now?" He pleaded.
"Yeah, sure. Were they fire nation?" he asked.
"Yeah, they were." Said Varmok. "And I think that Fire Lord Izumi knows who it is"
Many days later
At the front of the Air Temple, two figures could be seen. One of them talking to the other.
"Yeah, I wish my brother could come along. But he needs to work."
"Well Bolin, we all gotta pay the bills somehow. You know this better than most people."
"I know, but to be honest... I kinda miss the times we had when we were all together ans saving the world! Kinda."
"Ah, Bolin." Said a very familiar voice. It was full of confidence as if... no way
Bolin's face grew wide, but then he remembered Mako's advice on staying polite.
But how could one stay 'polite' in the presence of Lord Zuko!
"Lord Zuko! Um, greetings! A pleasure to have you here, for sure!" Bolin said as he attempted a flawed Fire Nation bow. Although Zuko didn't really seem to care. There were much more important matters as of now. Tenzin could be seen settling Bolin down.
"It's good to see you too, Bolin. I need to know where Korra is. I have something very important to tell her, and all of you as well."
"What happened, is there a threat?" Asked Tenzin.
"Actually, yes there may be a new threat to the world as we speak. But as I said again, I will explain everything once I find Korra. Do you all know where she is right now?"
Korra was sitting in her room. Out her window she looked into the sky. Today was a beautiful day. The weather was great, the sky is light blue and she felt more alive than usual.
Until she heard a knock on her door.
Normally she didn't mind at all. But she was in a moment, and now it was ruined. She groaned, "What now ikki?"
The door opens to reveal not a girl, but Three men.
"Hello Avatar Korra." Said Zuko.
"Oh, Lord Zuko!" She exclaimed. Zuko walked in to take a seat. "Um, hey Bolin. Tenzin... I didn't expect you guys at all... is something wrong?" Said Korra.
"Actually, there is something wrong. But first, I encourage everyone to take a seat first" He gestured the two men still standing.
"Oh, right uhm, sorry Lord Zuko!" Said Bolin.
She smiled, and lifted the general mood as Zuko also smiled. But it disapeared very quickly.
"Korra, when Katara told you about the 100 year war, did she ever mention a Fire Nation princess?"
"I think so." Replied Korra "I think it was princess Azula. She's your sister right?" Korra asked
"She is. And you need to know something not a lot of people know." Said Zuko. Everyone's posture straighetned after hearing this.
"But before I do, has Aang ever told you about his battle's with Azula?"
"Actually, not really. We never talked about Azula while I, you know. Still could talk to him." Korra felt the guilt now. Maybe their spirit's aren't dead, but she can't contact them anyways.
"I'm sorry." He apologized. There was a moment of silence between the everyone. One thing Zuko got good at as he aged was running a nation and politics. Social conversation, was clearly not one of them.
"Well, now you must know Korra. Azula has returned. And we don't know how strong she may be."
Korra was confused. "Wait, what exactly do you mean by returned?"
"I actually don't know what she did to herself, but it must've been something other worldly. I've seen her power Korra. She fought Aang at the south pole and her power rivaled Aang's, in the Avatar state."
Korra had more questions than answers now. "Wait so, how do you even know about this? What exactly happened?"
"Well..." Zuko began. "It wasn't very pleasant..."
"Argh!" Zuko fell onto the cold, frozen snow. He attempted everything he could, but he was simply no match. Azula approached him. "See this zuzu? This is what a Fire Lord should be capable of. And instead you chose weakness!" She kicked him on his side. He felt a taste of iron approach his mouth, and a wet, red substance came out.
"Maybe Azula, but you should've spent more time looking around than fighting me, heh." Azula looked confused at first, but such a thing would last very shortly. There was a glowing white light, and then a gust of air blew away at them.
All Zuko could do was watch as Aang entered the Avatat state. He had tried to fight Azula, but her strength and bending were far superior. Aang's chances of winning were much higher than his.
Aang went straight for Azula. As she attempted to strike him with lightning again, he covered her in ice to immobilize her. But it was quickly proven futile, as she easily broke it through her sheer strength.
Both went airborne. Azula using jet propulsion while Aang pursured with his Air bending. Even though Azula had fire jets, she seemed completely fine performing fire bending moves mid air against the avatar.
Her blue flame was almost as large as it was during Sozins comet. However, Aang quickly dispersed it with wind, and fired a large flame toward her. Azula responded by firing one back, with the two flames colliding, although Aang seemed to be winning.
Both of them stopped the stalemate. As Azula prepared a lightning strike, she didn't notice a water tentidrill appoarching her from below, until Aang grabbed her, thus throwing her back into the ground.
Aang lowered down and prepared to lock her down into the ground.
He was planing to take her bending away, until Azula did something none of them expected.
Azula sent a flame everywhere around her. She melted the ground below her. Thus sinking into the ocean water. Aang attempted to bend her out of it, but it was already far too late.
The ocean had taken her deep into it's depths. At this rate, she would've drowned.
"So, clearly she didn't drown." Said Korra. "So how does that work? She doesn't breathe but she can firebend..."
"She doesn't need air, but she still can still breathe if she wants to. Ok look, all you need to know, is that her power far exceeds that of any normal bender, and we must stop her." He finished.
"Do you have any idea where she could be?" Asked Tenzin.
"Somewhat. We're still searching for a lead, and I'm not sure of it's a good idea to make her presence public yet. All we know so far is that she was found at the south pole, and is probably moving north toward the earth kingdom. I doubt she will reach the Fire Nation anytime soon."
"So be it then. I'll find her Lord Zuko." Bolin's confidence was rising high. Zuko took a moment to help this.
"I believe you. However, now that we know of her existence early, this does not mean we've already won. Azula is very dangerous, calculating. I seriously doubt nearly 80 years in that iceberg will have hampered that."
"It's decided then. We need a plan. Where should we start?" Asked Korra, but Tenzin responded.
"We need our group back. And most importantly, if we're going to introduce Azula back into the public, we need to do it carefully so we don't cause a panic."
"That sounds good. Fire Lord Izumi has already been informed, and is taking action as we speak. Lets do the same shall we?" Said Zuko
